A twice debited debit card payment
I purchased RS 875 Worth items at Raddolugama cargills food City (Date 08.10.21/ time 21.05) the counter cashier swiped my HNB debit card in a machine and said it getting delayed and made again a swipe in an another machine. After I saw the HNB alert message Regarding the payment it showed as Rs 875 debited twice and I went to the raddolugama cargills to inform about this matter she/cashier said that it's an technical issue which's happens regularly to customers it felt very unusual although i contacted the HNB customer care they said it was a cashiers mistake she swiped twice.
Desired outcome: I just want a responsive solution for this issue
Regarding charging more than the displayed price
You can see that charged more than the price displayed on the item. Rs.45 on one bill and Rs.10 extra on the other bill. You can see that with product's photos.Even though I asked from cashier girl, today also done same thing.When I pay, there is no way to check if the cashier is billing correctly.Also, prices can only be checked on marked items.Since the selection only records the weight of the vegetables and fruits, it is not possible to check whether the prices included by the cashier in the bill are correct. These two bills are billed by same cashier. When I asked her, she said that the error of the system. If the error done by the system you should make necessary changes to your system properly.The customer does not have to pay for it. we are not responsible for that.I go for this Jawatta foodcity from long time.

I have purchased 5 beer 330 ml lion strong beer cans from cargills bandarawela today(2021/09/19) paid from the card and the person their didn't gave me a invoice.after came home i saw he has charged 20 lkr more per each beer can.I think that is why he did not issued the invoice.please take steps to stop this cheat on customers as well as company.

At 14 September 2021 evening around 5.20pm to 5.45 pm i have seen that the manager of samanthurai cargilles food city hand overed a box(36× 400)g of anchor milk powder to one person after that i enterd inside the outlet and requsted a packet of milk powder with some other goods.the manager refused to give the milk powder .he thinks his father owns food city.
I have been a loyalty customer for past 7 years in this outlet.this period of time these managers get bribe and handing over the crucial goods to his wanted person.
You can check this event through your outlet CCTV camera.
Take necessary action agains this rude manager in charge.
Desired outcome: The manager should be terminated.

Bill no 60 of nugegoda outlet on 11th sep 21
The green bean available on one of place was over matured. I break the bean to check whether it was over matured and put those broken beans in my basket. When I proceeded further I saw in another two locations were having really good ones. So I placed the broken matured beans back and selected the good ones from one of the other place.
One of the manager, named mr. Janaka jayalath alone with two helpers behaved unruly after seeing the broken over matured beans which I placed back.
Please note that we pay to buy better quality.
I would not take the incident seriously if all items were ok on that day. I noted that some of the items are not fit for sale, for example big onions, fresh pork, long radish, potatoes. I also understand the due to existing curfew, all available items may not be in good quality.
What bothered me is behavior of the manager and request to advise him to behave in a proper way with a customer.

Unethical behavior
The Cargills Food city online portal - https://cargillsonline.com/ allows to add many products which are not available. In this pandemic situation its really inappropriate to this. And keeping the online portal update is sort of a basic requirement in online market.
This has happened couple of times for me when trying to purchase Milk powder from Jaffna outlet.
Also in what world essentials are given to those who buy things for a sum of amount.(Jaffna outlet is supplying 1kg sugar only for those who buy things above LKR 1000.00) This is really a disgrace to Cargills.
Unethical behavior of the manager in cargills, kollupitiya
I am a patron of Cargills Food City for the last six years. Today (07.09.2021) morning, I went to Cargills Food City, Kollupitiya Branch to buy goods. Then I took 5 packets of brown sugar (each 1kg) to the counter. The cashier told me she couldn't bill 5kg but 1kg sugar. When I questioned why, she told me to wait for a while to speak with her Manager. Then the Manager appeared before me and told me 'you have have no rights to question why and to leave the store immediately'. When I argued with him he told 'he is the boss of the store and none able to bow him to anyone'. I was severely disappointed with his words, service and the service of the Cargills Food City alike. I usually buy goods from Cargills Food City. I never encountered such an incident in my life, especially in Cargills Food City. When I asked his name, he refused to tell his name. I wonder how he became to the title of Manager.

I am shayanthan working as a government audit officer. Today I bought a kotmale mozzarella cheese at batticaloa cargills food city for make pizza. It's expire date is ok nevertheless we realized that it had spoiled for some reason. We made pizza for dinner but we didn't eat that. There was a difference in taste and its rich aroma. I think it has the storage issue or it was spoiled. It was very bad experience to me I paid 490 + 200 dilivery charge I spent all other incerediances cost of rs 1500. Altogether my total loss is more than 2000 rupees. It shows branch manager quality and control did not do their job. Before deliver the goods they want to confirm the quality. Wasted my money and time

Online delivery
I have ordered some groceries online three days before, but did not get any order number or a confirmation even after the payment over Rs. 12, 000.00 was done. I was calling the nearest Crgils Food City outlets at Ehtul Kotte and Pita Kotte but there were no answers. Another Cargills Food City from Bamabalapitiya wanted to deliver my items, but when they understood my address, they asked me to contact my nearest outlets at Ehtul Kotte and Pita Kotte without any luck, as mentioned above. Since my family is short of most of the items ordered during this lockdown, I expect Cargills concerned management to resolve this issue TODAY.

I wanted to place an order from Cargills online since there was Milk powder and the rice that I eat available online. Also I added few more items to the cart. Few hours later I got a call from the store saying they do not have both milk powder and rice. They recommend me the fresh milk and bulk rice instead, which I said no. I understand that I could have cancel the order but I choose to went ahead and still place the order for my other products. But ideal is to just to remove the items from the inventory if they don't have the product. So it doesn't get mixed up (my point of view) But I have to mention, they helped me add few more items over the phone.
I finally got my order within few hours. But there were few missing items. Also the bananas they sent me was not consumable as it was all black and not good for use. I had to make few calls around and to rectify my own issue. There are no compensation on that. They did not even bother to call that they forgot one my bags in their delivery vehicle. I gave them clear information about the four items missing. Also they said bananas are out. So I requested for the refund for that. Then the delivery guys came back again and just hand over the one item of four missing items. When I mentioned that's not correct, they said they need to take the bill with them, go back to the store, check the cameras and get back to me. Which is understandable and unexpected at the same time. Since earlier they said they they have a forgotten bag in there vehicle.
On the second day, I still didn't receive a call from the store until afternoon. I had to make few calls to get my missing items completed. They did not even had the copy of my bill which they took form me the other day. I had to read them out loud. Such an irresponsible statement :(
This will be the first and the last time I'm ordering through Cargills online. If anyone is ordering through this portal please think again. There are better portals available around. I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. Cheers!
Not following the health guidelines
It is with great disappointment I inform the management I observed few individuals not following the health guidelines.
A saleswoman and the cashier had an argument over the amount of sugar being given to the customers which was not agood scene to be seen.
The same woman used her bare hand to reduce the amount of sugar in my bag and was not very pleasant when I pointed out. She didn't even apologise for her rude behaviour.
Desired outcome: Kind request to be polite to the customers and not to use their bare hands to touch the food in current situation. The sugar containers to be monitored by a staff rather than all handling. This will reduce the contamination.
Cucumber and yogurt
The day is 2021 August 12th. I went to cargills food city balangoda branch and buy some stuffs around Rs. 10, 000/=. When i came home i checked the bill and they charged me for the cucumber from capsicum price. They just charged me 245.82/= for just 485 grams of cucumber. So i checked a cargills bill from 2021/08/07 and on that bill they charged me a whole pack of yogurt that i never bought. I bought 1 pack and they charged me for 2 packs. I just want the refund. About bad service
Delivery service is very bad and awful.. I thought it will be good service people who like us living in aboard because sometimes we want to deliver some foods to our family.. but the bad timing delivery service of this I'm really ashamed that I ordered food and beverages from here and I'll recommend to the people who live in aboard like me, if you want to deliver foods and beverages to your family this is not the right place to do it.. mark my word this is not the right place

This complain about the cargills foodcity in pitigala. Everytime when I bought kotmale 1L packs at the pitigala cargills food city all of them were opened. Already the seal of the lid and the small foil inside the bottle is broken. What policies do you have for the food safety that you are selling here, and please be hurry to take an actions I can see here is more unsolved complains. People buy things for their necessaries not to make funny by paying money .I am Very dissapointed. 😢
Product delivery services
My Order No [protected] dated 21May 2021 for Rs 5577/
I have placed orders with them for the last one year at the onset their services were satisfactory. However a recent development is that on four consecutive deliveries at the point of delivery they intimate that some of the products are out of stock and are not included with the products delivered on the order.
Thereafter I am given an online code for the value of the purchases not supplied and have to apply it in reduction for the cost of the next purchased products. I cannot understand why the availability is indicated in the product display at the time of purchase and thereafter is rendered out of stock
The stock inventory should be updated at the time a customer selects a product and includes it into the shopping cart to ensure that it is included with the total purchases.
It is extremely unsatisfsctory for a reputed online super market to indulge in such operations where a customer is denied of the benefit of making a purchase and is ensured that it is delivered. I further note that unlike the other competitiors they engage in increasing their delivery charges from Rs 150/ on normal days to Rs200/ when constraints are envisaged under travel restrictions.
I have been greatly inconvenienced by the incorrect refund online codes given and are compelled to lodge complaints that remain not rectified by their staff that do not respond promptly to rectify issues brought to their notice.
I wish to bring to your notice that three products had not been delivered for the value of Rs 1545/ and an online code to set off against my future orders was given. However as it was rejected I intmated that I wanted a refund of these funds as I do not envisage to have any future orders with them.
After a lapse of two weeks the only response I received is that the system issues had been pursued with the software developers and until that is resolved my claim for the funds is held pending. This is not acceptable as the department has received the benefit of my funds when I have been deprived of the products. It shall be appreciated if action is taken to refund the funds for nonreceipt of products
