The cashier was polite but the girl who was packing was rude, she packed the stuff from the freezer and flour in to one bag and top of that 3 Lorenz chip packets in to the same bag by crushing them. I told her don't do that you are crushing the chips but she again pushed it into the bag and staired at me like i don't care. I complained to the manager but when i was leaving they were all laughing. I hope the company take this seriously.

Complaint about poor management and customer service at Cargills Meepe outlet
I am writing to formally complain about a recent incident that occurred at your Cargills Meepe outlet on March 13, 2023. On that day, I made a payment using the QR payment method but was informed by the manager that the payment had not been received. Despite my bank confirming that the payment was successfully completed, the manager insulted me in front of other customers, which I found to be completely unacceptable.
As a customer of Cargills, I feel that this type of bad management and poor customer service is harmful to the Cargills brand. I have always appreciated the quality of service and products provided by the Cargill, and I have been a loyal customer for many years. However, this recent incident has caused me to question whether I will continue to patronize your outlets in the future
As a frequent user of QR payment methods, I have had success with this method in the past. However, the situation at your outlet was a disappointment, the behavior of the manager was entirely unprofessional and not in line with the standards of customer service
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with this situation and request that appropriate action be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could review the training of your staff on the use of QR payment methods to ensure that they are familiar with the technology and can provide proper assistance to customers.

Rats in the fruit area eating grapes

Place madinagoda next to the petrol shed.
I went to buy some grocery and fruits for my home and grand children. As I approached the fruit rack I saw a big rat eating grapes. It was so disgusting and mind you how dangerous it is if a child eats a fruit which had been bitten by a rat. I complained this to the a lady (fat) and she said as she is not the manager but an assistant. Any way she said they use pesticides for the rats. I cannot accept that answer.
Desired outcome: Please see that this kind of thing is not seen again not only me but with all the customers. I am a frequent customer who goes to Cargill.
Rotten salad leaves
8th Feb. Cargills morning order 8- 12 pm. I ordered salad leaves and more 1/2, of it was bad. The leaves were back and brown. This not the first time I have got a delivery like this. Many times, leeks, and greens are bad. Doesn't a supervisor who takes it out of the cooler to pack look at the pack before packing it for the customer. Are they so blind or working like robots? This is very unbecoming of Cargills. If you notice, I am a very good customer of yours. Send me a whatts up no to send the picture of the rotten salad leaves I got today. In case you need to speak to me, call after 4pm today on [protected].

I have bought a Custard Jelly from the ward place Cargills Branch and once I informed them that it is rotten they spoked to me and said to bring along to change it an give it. Is that the way. There is no apologizing, and even after the call I told them to come and collect it but they didn’t ask where it is and they said okay and declined the call. Is this your service. Im going to write this to the Customer Service sector.
Desired outcome: I want the people there to train how to handle such a complain with an orderly manner.

At vegetable measuring counter no staffs available so I couldn't measure and took it to cash counter. The girl who was standing there on cash counter constantly throwing goods rudely which I kept for billing. it was so disrespectful.
Usually if people are not in the vegetable measuring area, cash counter people do it at the end. But this girl asked me to take the basket and find for a person to measure. I went there I couldn't find anyone there. I said no one there she started yelling it's a headache for her.
Such a misbehaving counter staff. Please train your staffs. We could buy items outside but we buy there for the service.

Staff stacking food products in 1kg bags damage sealed 1kg brown sugar bags with a pin/needle
During my short visit to buy some stuff today at Anuradhapura 2 Contact number of the outlet [protected] and this happened between 12:00 and 13:00hrs today. Since I am very related to Food Hygiene and Safety Standards as a professional in the industry I am very concerned about all the shortcuts staff to take during work. It came to my notice a young team of Staff of this outlet was given a task to stack 1KG Brown Sugar packs on a pallet for sale. What they do to stack each packet on top of each other to make it flat faster during the stacking process they punch wholes in 1kg brown sugar packet so many times and then they throw it to another customer trolly that they have been using to next guy to paste the label in it. The Manager or the Supervisor of the said outlet must have been a lady this time of the day in my opinion today. You all damage the fully sealed 1kg Sugar pack deliberately for your working convenience and then sell it to poor customers how the hell on earth do you all do this kind of cheap treatment to your valuable guest? Don't you all have people who give a [censored] about your bloody customer we pay for this [censored] guys you don't provide it for free for [censored] sake so don't ever do this [censored] in future for your own customer? What a shame on you people men you should be ashamed your yourself guys. Your outlet has violated all food packaging regulations and this is very clean misconduct and a violation of food safety.

Very bad customer service. I was in a counter where there were two tall guys and they never took over the goods and billed. All the other counters were occupied. So since they did not respond I had to go to another counter and that conuter also the people are discussing regarding the lunch.. my time was wasted. Please teach them customer service. They are not even doing their job properly. Wasteful.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and this should not happen to any other customer.
Today purchase peppermint leaves packed from mt Lavinia outlet .it was nicely packed but when open it was with dried leaves .very poor and you are just taking money from people by selling these type of low quality products..pics attached for your reference
Melted ice cream in broken freezers
My colleagues (Few Doctors) and I went to this Cargills Food City situated near to the National Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital, Rajagiriya. (Next to The Western Hospital) We went there to buy some Ice cream to children in Paediatrics section. Guess what. all the freezers were broken and the ice creams were melted. Tell your Branch management to check the Magic cones section.

Pork roast packs spoilt

I wish to note that I purchased some stuff via online (as per the order attached) which was delivered on the 10th of October 2022.
I regret to notify you that the 3 packs of Pork Roast which was delivered was expired on 19th October 2022 and the items when opened were rotten.
Please check attached photos for reference.
It is very sad that Cargills being a key supermarket in Sri Lanka has delivered such food items which cannot be consumed as they are rotten. We as your customers pay so much money to get these items in good edible condition to our loved ones but sadly had to experience situations like this.
It is your duty to ensure that food items that are delivered to customers are suitable to eat and not close to expiry dates.
Please check regarding this matter seriously and let me know how you could replace these packs asap as I will tell my son to handover these expired packs to your outlet.

I went to shopping last evening (at 5.30). But no one to weighing, serving at least a cashier. Only person stayed a lady security officer. I had waited 5-10 minute, but no one came to front. Security officer said that girls went to back don't know what do they.
What is that? Your slogan is Go home our way. but your outlets destroy our time.
I tried to complain this issue by telephone to customer care, but no answer.

I visited the wellawatte branch for shopping. I keep my yoga mat in the security counter. My daughter she was @8 years old missed the number token. I was with heavy goods and asked my daughter to find the token since the security was rude and said as must returned the token. I was waited nearly 15minutes with goods and my younger daughter in the security booth. Thereafter security informed me to call my daughter. With goods how can enter in to the super market? Then I keep the goods in the security table and went to collect my daughter. Thereafter she was ready to hand over my mat and she staryed to adbice me. Then I said i dont want that mat. You keep that and retuenes. When I was xhwcked the list on the home tea bag was missed in my packet.
Desired outcome: Please respect the customers atleast in small extend.My tea bag which was missed in the secirity table has to returned.
Amex cc not accepted at Hiripitiya outlet
Dear Team,
After i purchased goods worth 8000k in one of your outlets locates at hiripitiya, nikadalupotha,my amex card did not accept stating that something wrong with the amex machine.
However i used my amex cc at this outlet several times and there is no sign borad displays reagarding the issue. Since i didn't have any other payment options i had to walk out with bare hands.
I hope you all understand how frustrating the situation was.

Rotten product issued. Unable to get the matter sorted. Retail services, other than liquor not operational during power cut duration
The 'plantain flower' issued on 26th August was found rotten inside, the following morning.
Went to Big City Katubedda 27th afternoon, by Tuk Tuk, the quoted fare for return - Rs. 500/=, only to find the outlet closed due to the power cut. However, liquor is sold. Staff, chatting. Had to return home empty-handed.
Hilarious that a company with over 100 years of service to the nation, turns back customers when the competitors in the same field do everything to keep the customers happy in these challenging times.
Moreover, the purchase receipt is so blurred, that reading the information is a challenge. Can send an image if a PDF is permitted.
Finally, I lost Rs. 540plus, without getting any benefit for my bowel movement. I am a 74years 11 months aged patient with multiple medical issues.
Desired outcome: Change of attitude and keeping the 'Service to the Nation' as a cardinal principle of Cargills.

Yesterday(16th August around 07:15pm) evening I went to buy sausages from the Delgoda food city.
That sausage has softened and ice has melted and water running inside the packet, it was next to potato kieves packs.
I dont have any proof. Witness only myself. you better check with your team.

We are very dissapointed about Kollupitiya 2 staff, specially cashiers.We are the employees of offices near the Kollupitiya 2 food city.Though we regularly visit & buy goods.After we went to the cashier for billing,they never smiling,in the morning,if we say them Good morning,they never say or if we speak with them in friendly manner,or if ask about the prices also discounts, the cashier girls were very unprofessional,arguing and speak in a disrespectful manner.Customer assistant girls also likes that.We noted it ever day, not only us but also to every customer they treated like that..We saw the differance between Kollupitiya 2 staff and Kollypitiya Marine Drive food city staff.Kollupitiya Marine Drive staff is very helpful and good customer service they have.

Iam razeen siraj. yesterday i want to food city and my dad is a member of food city. my brother and me was going to food city in evening and my dad told me to buy a milk powder.and my brother saw a perfume in the food city and he give it me and i was asking a staff "do you have diamond milk powder" they response me that they were don't have it.and my brother ask me "how is this perfume" and he gave it me. and it was in my hand. i was in call with my dad and unforgettably i put it my pocket. that was my mistake and teat me like a thief. i am sorry for that i am very sorry for that. they have capture in c.c.t .v and the watchman saw that. i was busy in the phone were talking to my dad and i have go to watchman he catch me off and he peel with my shirt and he took me into the staff room and they were the manger were the watchman was speaking with the bad words i feel very guilty and they was lady the lady is speaking like a men she told that iam speaking very load actually iam sorry for that . i told my dad and he came fast as possible and the i was very angry and shouting they i am sorry for that also it is not complain. it's a request to be kind with all the people . i am only 17 years old and hurt form it the staff was behaving rude in slave island food city please request them i am not a thief. i was trying to gently i am again telling you i am very sorry for that. the staff are behaving rudely tell them be kind with all people please i am sorry, thank you
