Unethical behavior (I do not wish this complaint to be public for obvious reasons)
I would like the email or phone number to corporate. I just had an embarrassing experience at the South Tampa Gym. I have been coming here for about 2 yrs now... Never late payment, nothing.. I was embarrassed today. The blonde girl working today at the desk was rude to start wit, Ive never seen her before, and I went to tan and thought I pushed the lock on...
Read full review of Crunch Fitnessthe gym keeps charging me for something that I don't agree on.
Everything started when I got my personal trainer sessions with I took for a month and after that the next month the gym charged me money for another month of training sessions, then I got in touch with one of the managers at crunch la mirada and he sent a message to the company canceling my training session and then the gym kept charging me again and again which resulted in my bank giving me a fee of thirty five each time they did that. They charged me like 6 times so I had to paid the bank for that. I talked to the gym manager again and he said that the company told him that they did not receive anything and then after they returned part of my money, which I was happy but they they did it again recently. So now I owe the bank. I paid my membership monthly payment and my annual fee. The problem is just with the personal training sessions that I don't even want and the result is my money lost. I need an answer right away, and a solution please. I don't cancel my membership because I like the gym so please I need a solution!
membership and collections
We have had a membership with Crunch fitness ever since they bought out the previous owners. The last few months we did not use the gym, but did not cancel the membership, month to month payments were still being taken out. For some reason they were unable to bill for a months service on our card, and sent us to collections, even though we were on month to month, no contract. No attempt was made to let us know, although they "say" they sent an e-mail. I will be canceling our whole family's membership now. Horrible business behavior.
cancelation

I was told that I did not need anything else... what a surprise after a couple a months lI was in Collection for no payment... I reported the case to the BBB, they tried do many times to talk to the manager, never returned the call... That is the...

The reason as to why I am complaining is because I was told wrong information and another trainer filled out application for another trainer because she said she does not know how to it I was told I have 30 days to cancel my personal trainer and I have been trying to cancelling it and gym is telling me I can not I can sue this company for giving false information and for giving someone else the right to fill out another trainer application.
membership cancellation
So I emailed the crunch San Dimas manager at the beginning of the summer because I was only going to be in CA for three months and didn't want to have to pay for a full year of membership. We emailed back and forth and he told me about the plan for college students where you pay for three months up front and then it automatically cancels after three months. I then went in and showed the email to the worker at the counter and they told me they signed me up for that plan. I then went to the gym and then just in case at the end of three months i emailed them to make sure I wouldn't be charged any additional money. I've since cleared my inboxes and can no longer locate the email. I've also realized that I've been charged for membership the past 3 months. I'm literally all the way across the states in Boston and haven't used my membership at all. The manager cancelled my never only after I complained and refused to refund the membership charges even though they were the ones who registered me for the wrong membership. I was very spedisci I wanted the one that ended after three months and showed the worker the email from the manager saying I wanted the three month upfront membership.
the gym environment, non qualified staff, and ridiculous manager
The whole gym, from the outside looking in is great. Once you go there you feel and see the stress and over worked staff at the front desk. Don't bother trying to ask them a question they won't talk to you until you wait at least 20 min.
Most the personal trainers Are over weight, I am sorry but off I was to pay for personal training I need someone who looks like they practice what they preach. The manager there is arrogant, rude, I honestly don't know what he does around there except walk around and talk to gym goers.. I have been to many gyms and 5 different crunches, and this one is definitely the worst. One more thing what gym tells you that you can't have a work out bag on the floor to prevent you from stealing ? Am I going to steal a weight ?
Unreal!
membership requirements that aren't legally in the contract.
Membership requirements that aren't in the contract.
When I signed up for the monthly membership they told me I had to take a picture. Having a picture on file is no where in the contract I signed or agreed to. Once I explained that to the manager she then called someone above her to say it was okay and I could continue with signing up with the membership.
Everyday I come to the gym with the Keychain membership card I am being asked to show my ID. Majority of the time I go to the gym at the same time so I am seeing the same employees at the front desk I scan my card, my membership is in good standing, and again I am asked to show my actual ID/ picture of my ID to continue to my workout. TODAY I got a call from the manager that I have to show my ID everytime I come to the gym regardless of if I have my membership card or not. In the Crunch Garden Grove contract in (3.2) Proof of membership... States ::: member must present it (membership card) to the reception desk personnel each time Member enters a Crunch facility::: also is states in the latter ::: A member wishing to use facilities without his/her membership card will be required to provide proof of identity. Per this contract I'd only need to show my ID in the event I don't have my membership card. These employees are requiring me to uphold things that aren't legal nor in their contract. At this point I am feeling like I am being harassed solely off the fact I don't my picture in the Crunch system which isn't a requirement of the contract either.
music in gym
I live in Aurora CO and think you have a nice gym but the rap music they play here is disturbing. Every member I see here has headphones to drown out this crap. Only played for the employees. Very few people here probably because of the vulgar music. I've been to several crunch fitness locations across the country. All the other gyms play normal music and are packed. If the music doesn't change I will not be back to this gym. I can't be the only one with this complaint. Thank you.
unethical behavior
Hello Team,
I visited Crunch Somerset along with my wife PALLAVI JAIN for membership cancellation and got confirmation from manager available on 7th September that our membership is cancelled however I noticed now that my wife's membership didnt get cancelled at that time and my credit card was charged for September and October month. I had a hard time in September also for cancellation.I had to visit multiple times to chase your managers for cancellation and having a hard time now as well since I am not getting reply for my queries. I called Crunch Somerset today as well but the available manager "Riya" refused to talk and address my concerns reason unknown to me. I want you cancel membership for my wife and refund the deducted amount for September and October which is 10.61+10.61=$21.22 on my credit card ASAP. Please note that I am out of US and I dont have any plans to return for next 8 months.

Racism At Crunch @crunchfitnes
Hello Friends,
I am asking your assistance in spreading awareness about my recent experience at Crunch fitness Hamilton Downtown (city centre). I have tried with no luck to contact their head office. Hopefully this post will get someones attention.
My experience on October 22, 2018 is an unfortunate reminder that even as a born and raised Hamiltonian, I still have to be reminded that above all I am just a black man.
On October 22, 2018 I went to work out at crunch fitness with my two friends as we always do. During our workout I was approached in an aggressive manner by the GM (Shane or Shawn) to put weights away. My friends and I informed the GM that we were not the last to use the weights; at which he walked away. I felt singled out because I was in a group of three and he only approached me.
5 minutes later He approached me again for a second time. This time with an ultimatum to put the weights away or leave. So I allowed him to follow me to my locker to get my stuff and leave.
The next day I called the Upper James location and the person at the desk said I was not welcomed at any Crunch Fitness in Hamilton with no explanation as to why.
I have never felt so humiliated, disrespected, demeaned and degraded in my entire life. I did not want to tell anyone of my experience because I was so embarrassed. I tried to contact Crunch fitness head office with no luck. My two friends wrote emails to the head office with no response. Therefore, I take this as as Crunch as an organization not caring about my feelings or even wanting to hear my side and my two witnesses side of the story.
So, I thought I'd publicly still share my side of the story.
cleanliness since past manager we're let go
The cleanliness of the gym is why most come here! New management could care less ! There's [censored] all over toilets ! Damn disgusting ! Someone needs to address the schedule of cleaning ! At least past management came in every Sunday and scrubbed everything ! Including frt glass ! John better address this ! Because there is a lot of competition out there ! And in Scranton you can do a thousand things right ! But screw up once and word gets around!
cancelation
I submitted a e-mail for cancelation to get paperwork to mail in like contract states. Was told to come into the gym and sign a form. Sunday I spoke with a blonde that told me I can cancel within the next 3 days to avoid the $10 hit and the $39.99 fee. I said great! She informs me that she can not cancel my membership that I will need to speak to Kat who isn't there. Asked me to return the following day between 4-12am and put me on her schedule. which I did on Monday. I walked to the desk and was informed Kat was busy and to take a seat and I would be called. After 10mins and inbetween her trying to sign up new members she then tries to upsell me into a personal trainer program after I told her 2 repeated times I just want to sign the paperwork. She then tells to go to the desk "Ashley" will handle it. Once at the desk Ashley asks my name, and number and says Okay... I asked once again for the form to sign and was told "" she has your info she's just going to do it"". Well I sent a E-mail once I returned home asking for confirmation that the contract was terminated and have still not received a reply.

crunch terminated my membership
Crunch fitness terminated my membership because of " excessive sweating", I'm a semi pro cyclist and utilize the spin bike for over 90min per session . At the end of my session I would leave sweat on the ground, although I would completely wipe down the equipment (completely), there would be sweat on the floor. None of the employees would have an issue, except for one hard case employee that wanted me mop the floor in that area . I filled a complaint with management and was told not to worry "she would talk to the employee..." The next day the hard case employee accused me of spitting on the floor, "which I did not". and the manager sought me out and stated that she would "terminate my membership" if I didn't mop the floor … nothing in my contract states that I have to mop the floor after a work out, I feel that's why I pay membership dues, I feel as though I've bee singled out by one employee because he didn't want to do his job and clean up the spin room area. I can not find a corporate number to fill my grievance, so that I take it higher then a store manager. As a newer Gym if this is how they will treat they're new patrons, they wont be in business very long
personal training
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a member of Crunch Fitness Greenpoint where I purchased 2 x 10 session packages of personal training.
I have completed a number of personal training session and seek a refund as the service was not as advertised. My name is Rosalind O' Sullivan and my Crunch Fitness ID is #IMPB23127147.
First, my trainer frequently makes last minute session cancellations and most recently did not confirm a reschedule and has not messaged me since, for a number of weeks.
Second, my trainer always cuts sessions short by at least 10 minutes and I have never once had a full 50 minute session as paid for.
Third, I have scoliosis and back problems which I discussed at length with my trainer. She forgot about these and I had to frequently remind her. She frequently would have me do completely inappropriate exercises for somebody with my back problems - my physical therapist was horrified when I informed him. I was informed by Crunch Greenpoint that my trainer would work with me to create a plan that worked for me.
Fourth, I asked my trainer repeatedly to help me with a routine that I could do at the gym in between sessions and was repeatedly told 'just do some cardio'. When using weight machines I have never been taught how to use them myself, what weight to be using, how many sets etc. and what body part I am working out. I bought these sessions to learn what to do at the gym and am just as clueless as I was prior to beginning training.
Fifth, my personal trainer spends much of our sessions on her cell phone not paying attention to my form - this is particularly concerning when I scoliosis. The first 10 minutes of all of our sessions I am left to work out on my own and she usually disappears for at least 5 minutes in the middle to go on the computer also.
Sixth, I was incorrectly billed for a cancelled session and found the Head Trainer at Crunch really unhelpful. I had to email four times just to get a response, and was initially told to 'sort it out with your trainer' until I pushed for a solution. I am reluctant to ask to swap trainers given a) how unhelpful the Head Trainer has been, b) the fact that I frequently see all the trainers on their cell phones on the gym floor and not paying attention to clients and c) because of my unsatisfactory experience with Crunch Fitness Greenpoint to date.
The personal training service is not as advertised and I am seeking a full refund on my outstanding sessions. I would like to note also that I am owed one further 'free' session as I was falsely charged for a cancelled session and the trainer and head trainer agreed that they would not deduct the next session from my package. Therefore, I am owed a refund on thirteen personal training sessions.
Grateful for your follow up to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
Regards,
Rosalind
renewal membership
I have been a member of Crunch Gym for 4 years. My rate was $10 a month. This year I received notice in the mail that I needed to come in to the gym to sign documents before the end of May to keep the contract the same which I did before the end of May. I was assisted by one of the employees when I went in that evening who pulled up my information on the computer and was asked sign twice on the keypad and was confirmed that my contract was renewed and my rate remained at $10 a month. I did not receive any copies or was I offered a copy of my signed contract but just the confirmation from the person assisting me at the time that it was renewed. Now starting October my bill when up to $13 plus a month. I called the gym and to inquire about the new rate. I spoke to the new manager Jason who was very unprofessional and treated me as I was making up a story and basically told me they do not have anything on file and if I don't have a copy he will not do anything. Also even if I remembered the name of the person that assisted me that person may no longer be working there so he will not and cannot do anything to assist. I have been a consistent loyal member of this gym and feel the way I was treated was terrible and I have referred other people to that location. I would like to know what can be done to resolve my issue or I will regretfully cancel my membership and join another. Thanks in advance for your resolve. Jansen Quashie [protected]@gmail.com

crunch fitness - sarasota university
We have been members at this location for years and have really enjoyed ourselves. However, the past few months have been very disappointing. Specifically, there have been many negative changes in the past few months that have detracted from our gym experience. My most recent Crunch Survey also reflected the same. We are at Crunch 6 days a week and look forward to seing our friends and enjoying our workouts.
Today, between 2 and 3 pm, the music selection was extremely loud, heavy metal music (ie Metallica). It was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. Finally, my wife spoke directly with the manager, John, and asked him to please do something about the music. He said he would both change the station and reduce the volume. He did nothing. About 10-15 minutes later, a trainer walked by and we raised the issue again with him. He agreed and said that the music is so loud he has to sometimes yell for his clients to hear him. Following our discussion, the trainer went to the front desk and immediately the music volume was reduced. Unfortunately, by then I had such a headache that I had to leave. And, I still have a headache as I write this. Needless to say, this was not an "enjoyable" workout experience. I would also like to mention that the past 2 Sundays, typically when the manager is not there, themusic is also much too loud. Today, on our way out the door, we spoke with several other members who also said the music today was annoying and much too loud. I have never, ever had to leave a gym due to this situation.
Other negative changes have included areas of the gym (such as the Group Fitness Class room) that have been unavailable while painting is being done. Many folks, like ourselves, use this room as a quiet, relaxing place to workout. There was absolutely no prior notice that this room would be unavailable all week. Crunch resources are either very new or seem to be stretched due to rapid expansion and the simultaneous opening of three new clubs. As a result, numerous machines have been broken or out of service for weeks on end.
We really enjoy Crunch. But, the club we have come to know is not what it used to be. Justin was great and is really missed. Please accept these comments as constructive and well intended. Having been prior owners of a gym, we understand how important it is to create and maintain an enjoyable workout environment. We welcome the opportunity to discuss the subject of this email further with Justin or any member of management. We sure hope things change.
Regards,
Tom & Sherry Wilson

They won't let me cancel my membership. My name is Michael Myllek. I was a member at the White Plains Crunch gym. They closed it. I want to cancel my membership. I email the nearest gym and they tell me they are a signature location and I have to contact a base location. I have no idea what that means but she tells me some of the base locations. I email them no one responds. I just want my membership cancelled.
billing and management
Hello, This complaint is in regards to your crunch fitness location in Carlsbad California. I am a member of crunch and recently had a billing problem with you guys. I called your finical services ABC financial as well. Im complaining in regards to get getting hold of corpate and a refund that you owe me. You guys charged my card TWICE of a amount in 103.95 when confronted with this issue i was told and apology and that a refund was being made. I then followed up on multiple occasions to check on my refund which i was told would take 3-5 business days, The first follow up on friday October 5, 2018 I was told by the manager Brad that it was being processed and should be back in my account Monday. I then followed up Monday October 8, 2018 When i was then told by Jason the sales rep that the refund went through which was a false statement as no money was returned to my account. Not only did your company tell false accusations you guys Ran a card that was unauthorized by me. As a paralegal for a defense attorney you are violating many regulations. I will follow up with HR and your Corporate office until the issue is resolved.
