customer service
I recently signed up with Crunch located at 4130 Douglas Blvd. Granite Bay, CA
I've been very excited about my new membership and have attended a few of the awesome classes provided there. However, my last visit was today 8/28/18. I went in around 6:15pm because I wanted to attend the 6:30pm yoga sculpt class. When I arrived I scanned my key card and began to walk to the restroom. The lady working behind the desk, Jessica, yelled out to me, "Wait!" so I curiously walked back to the front and said "Yes?". Jessica spoke to me in a very rude tone and said "You're account is red, I can't have you in here". I was a little confused so I asked her what she meant by that and she said "It looks like you missed your payment a few days ago". To which I said okay as she did not really explain what the options were at that point. Jessica stared at me and continued with her extremely rude attitude towards me and said "Unless you pay me right now I can't let you workout today". I was surprised at this response and let her know that I actually had a case of fraudulent charges on my debit card and was in the process of waiting for a new card in the mail & that I wouldn't be able to pay right at that moment. She rolled her eyes at me and smirked and then told me I would have to leave. I asked nicely to please use the restroom as I was still holding it since driving all the way to the gym. She got louder in her tone of voice and continued to laugh and said "NO I CAN NOT HAVE YOU IN HERE". I looked around and other employees behind the desk were watching and also laughing at my interaction with Jessica, I felt extremely embarrassed and pretty hurt by this. I asked her again and pleaded that maybe if I let her hold my keys and ID that she could let me use the restroom really quickly. Rolling her eyes for about the fifth time during our conversation, she said "Fine". I'm very shocked that one of your employees would treat me this way, after I signed up to be a member of the gym I wasn't treated as such. I felt she discriminated against me and made a joke of me in front of her coworkers and had no regard for my feelings or my situation. She did not try to work with me and explain my options, and she was very rude and short with me making me feel uncomfortable and that I didn't belong in a gym like this and that I should cancel my membership.
no uppercut bag
I live in Santa Maria CA & am part of the crunch fitness here in the mall. We have a wonderful assortment of heavy bags (4 total) but lately my body (or more like biceps) have been craving releasing the cardio energy thru the motion of an uppercut.. I live in a place that has no more space.. If u could please 🙏 replace 1 of the heavy for an uppercut bag I'm sure nobody would mind, rather be pretty stoked about it. Thank u 💋
hiring
A month ago I got 2 interviews for personal training at crunch in Citrus Heights, 1 was with the fitness director Randy and another one was with the manager rosel! Everything was going well I filled out the background checks and was told, I would revive it in 5-7 business days! It's been 4 weeks already and she didn't bother even calling and letting me know my status! I would call in every week and she would tell me the same thing that my background check haven't come in yet and corporate is not responding! Now today I called in just to get a rejection letter from them so I can get a refund for my certificate! She reuse to give me it and claims she sent me an email a week ago about orientation I never got that email and I even asked maybe she enterd it wrong, I asked her to please spell the email out calmly and she said I don't want to argue and stop raising ur voice at me, when I was being very respectful! She declined to write me a letter claiming that I just don't want to be hired when I never even got an email or a phone call! Please contact me about my situation I just want my rejection letter!
customer service/membership services
I am writing in regard to a collection notice I received about my account being in default. I attempted to cancel my membership in April 2018. I have been dealing with a significant injury that has not allowed me to utilize my membership in quite some time. The last correspondence I received from either corporate or my local branch was on April 7, 2018 indicating I would receive further contact regarding my cancellation request. I never did. That is until a few days ago when I received a letter from a collection agency stating my account was in default and I owe $99.96.
I just phoned the local branch and was told I have been in default since March 2018 and there are late fees and penalties because I did not come in and fill out the paperwork in person.
I never received any notice via postal mail, phone, nor email that my account was in default. I never received any sort of instructions that I had to fill out paperwork in order to cancel my membership. I have heard nothing from anyone in the organization.
The manager of my local branch informed me that my account shows it has been cancelled. She also informed me that she would waive late fees but I still owe $159.
How and why should I be responsible for fees and payments I knew nothing about? And how did $99.96 turn into $159.00. And if my account is supposedly cancelled as I was told, WHY AM I STILL ACCRUING MONTHLY CHARGES?
I wrote initially stating financial hardship as part of the reason for cancelling. And nobody ever followed up. I certainly cannot afford this mess of a situation.
I have held a membership with them for close to 10 years, beginning with World Gym, and for a good portion of that time my membership went paid for and not utilized due to my ongoing back issues. I never complained about shelling out money for the times I could not use the gym, I just paid my bill. I shouldn't have to pay an exorbitant amount of additional money just to be released from their stranglehold. Especially when the organization has done nothing to instill any faith of good customer service or care for its patrons. They couldn't even follow up an email. And now my credit is in jeopardy because this company lacks communication skills? I won't have it.
To say I am unhappy is an understatement.
overcharged
I signed my daughter up In February for the $9.95 membership, they have been charging me for a more expensive membership 21.45. Then I was billed twice this month with $15 late fees attached. I called yesterday to cancel my membership before they processed the payment that was billed to me today . I was told that I had to come in to cancel my membership to stop the payment from going through. But I was at work all day yesterday and all afternoon today . While I was at work the payment processed with late fees and I was told the payment stands even though I had tried to take care of this issue yesterday! So I've been over charged since February, my daughter only went to the gym two times. Candace the manager at the store was completely rude and was of no help. Also there was a gentleman right behind me waiting to see a manager for the same exact reason... so I'm NOT the only one who was taken advantage of!
charged after cancelled membership
I will not check my spelling. I am very mad. I cancelled my membership back on July 13, got a confirmation email on july 15, on july 29 I was charged twice, one for $25 and one for $50. AND THEN! On aug something I got charged an additional $32. All of this was AFTER receiving a dang confirmation email that my membership has been cancelled. I contacted crunch ASAP to let them know what was happening and they told me I had to go through the email. I emailed two weeks ago with them saying someone would be in contact 3-5 business days! And yep, you guessed it, still no call! I need my money refunded and I don't even know how to do that because they way I was told to do it obviously isn't working!
Unauthorized repeat withdrawals from checking account
Over the past 8 days Crunch fitness has withdrawn $126.24 from my checking account. I am supposed to be on the Military plan. $10.00 per month. When I go into local crunch in Sarasota, Fl the smart aleck young kid laughs, tries to give me some BS story. I strongly recommend that people do not do use Crunch and definitely do not give them your banking information. I have been in Crunch numerous times when people are at the Service desk complaining about the same type of unauthorized charges.

customer service
Crunch fitness on glenside drive in Richmond VA
It has been an unfortunate series of events to say the least and definitely disrupted my day. My issue is with the general manager at Crunch Glenside.
I originally was not speaking to him.
When I called in the first time I was speaking with another associate, who was trying to figure out why the associate did not follow through with the freeze on my husband's account, done last week! This is when I heard a male voice in the background say, "just hang up, " and to my disbelief I was hung up on by the associate. I called back and another man answered the phone. I said, may I speak to # and he said to me, "No this is #." I said # just told me that you were on vacation and he did not know when you would be back. He then proceeded to tell me his employee was "mistaken" (and I am willing to say he was probably standing next to him the whole time and was the one who instructed him to hang up on me.)
From this point on the conversation went downhill. The GM was very combative and disrespectful with me from the beginning. He said things to me that no GM at any business should say. I felt he was trying to bully me and was being very misogynistic towards me.
He would not provide me with any information on how/who I could express my concerns to regarding our exchange. He stated that he owned the gym and was basically the alpha and omega and told me "good luck." I have never been so insulted and disrespected by anyone. I was so upset!
The issue I have now, is a personal attack situation towards me from this GM. As a human being and as amanager he did not conduct himself appropriately. Even after our last conversation, he emailed me with a notice saying I was banned from Crunch fitness! Instead of trying to peacefully resolve the issue, he is still trying to bully me. He never once APOLOGIZED for the way the account was mis handled, for his employee lying to me/hanging up on me and then for getting on the phone with me and being so disrespectful. This is not something I expect from any business, let alone from a growing fitness brand.
cleanliness
The women's locker room/restroom is consistently filthy at the Nampa, ID location. There has been fecal matter on the wall of one of the changing stalls for over a week now, and today when I went it, there was a used sanitary pad on the floor... just out in the open.
The toilet paper is constantly all over the floors, and the lockers never function properly. When I have told the staff, the answer I usually hear is "there are no females on staff to take care of that right now".
Overall, I'm becoming more and more agreeable to the idea of switching gyms. Yuck.
no hot water
For the past two weeks there is no hot water in the building . My self and many others depending on the hot water to take showers in the morning. Due to the fact that i have to go to work right after i work out. This is un acceptable and they should not be operating without hot water. I have informed several staff members about issue and every day they say that a plumber is coming to address issue . If they are not going to fix the hot water then they should refund every member back their fees until hot water is restored .
membership
Crunch Fitness North Charleston, SC has refused to cancel a membership over the phone for four months. I have moved seventeen hours away from the gym, yet they still refuse to cooperate. They REQUIRED direct bank information for membership, making it impossible to stop payment when the refuse to do so. They will only allow cancellation in person, regardless of the circumstances.
manager janine not disclosing correct information about upper tier membership.
I joined Crunch fitness in Midland Park NJ while it's new facility was still under construction. When I sat with the manager Janine, I told her I was primarily interested in joining for the classes such as pilates, yoga, strength training etc. I told her I was currently practicing reformer pilates and asked how many reformers they would have in a class. She said they are usually small group classes ( 4-6 reformers) and that if i joined the upper tier membership for $59/month I would have access to the gym and classes. They opened in March 2018 and I was dealing with an illness in the family for that past 4 months and never had the chance to go to the gym for the classes. Now I am finally able to take the time to go, and she is telling me that the reformer classes are NOT INCLUDED in the upper tier membership and I will have to pay extra. I told her she NEVER specifically told me this and she is now denying the fact that she didn't disclose this to me even though I SPECIFICALLY asked about REFORMER PILATES and that was what I was currenly practicing. She is saying I misunderstood her. She refused to give me a credit for the 3 months I was unable to attend the gym. I think this is EXTREMELY POOR business practice from a manager and she just tried to get me to join without telling me of extra costs in the area of my interest. I think I should be refunded the cost of the upper tier membership and then I will consider changing to the lower tier membership and paying extra for the classes. Please help me resolve this issue. The managers should be more forthcoming with membership information when trying to get people to join.
personal training
On June 18, 2018 I sent the following email to the head personal trainer Josh at the Glenside location in Richmond VA:
Good morning Josh,
My name is Lacie Truslow. You and I meet I want to say 4/5/18 to talk about personal training. When we spoke you set me up with a gentleman, charged me 60 for the hour we were there and discussed that I would be billed 60 bi-weekly for training. You had me sign electronically that I understood that if I didn't give the trainer enough notice that I will be late or miss a class I understood that I could still be charged for the class and also giving you permission to charge my card for the classes. Well I missed my first meeting (called in advance and everything) and never heard back. I want to say late April early May I noticed I was still be charged. So I called and spoke with the GM I believe his name is Shawn or Sean, or maybe Shane. He informed me that I had signed a contract with you and that I was locked in for the next 12 months. You can imagine my shock, as I was unaware of these terms in the contract that I signed. My fault because I should have physically read what I was signing then just trusting what you said. So I asked that a trainer would be contacted so I can at least get what I am paying for. Now it's June 18th, still being charged and not getting any training. When we (I brought my husband this time so if I had questions he could explain it better) came in and spoke to Daniel at the front desk. He said we had paid for 5 out of 23 sessions. So I am trying to figure out everything and what we can do since I have not received any calls back.
Thank you,
Lacie Truslow
To which his response was:
Hey Lacie,
I apologize! I was unaware you were not working with a trainer. Thank you for reaching out. We are going to fix that ASAP and get you in here working hard with a trainer. Let me know your availability and I'll have it scheduled up.
Thanks,
Josh
To which I replied:
The issue isn't the lack of a personal trainer, rather the lack of communication and explanation. I was not expecting to be spending $120 per month on something that I wasn't intending to use that frequently but rather as needed. I would rather sign up for sessions or classes on a case by case basis. The cost is too great considering my availability and workload caused by my Full-Time job, my Part-Time job, and the Event Planning business that I run. I just cannot commit to personal training sessions as well as everything else that I have happening now.
All of this happened on the same day. It is now Aug 2nd, no one is calling me or following up with me which has been the issue for day one. I am going to have to cancel my membership due to I am quitting my full time job which was near that location and staying near now where I live so I can't get out there anymore. So is there anything we can do to fix this?
Thank you
Lacie Truslow
crunch fitness
I suffered HORRENDOUS customer service at Crunch Vista CA. I spoke to the franchise owner who laughed and mocked me on the phone. I ended up paying for months I had frozen and was out of town for all because they have no paperwork showing what I agreed to. Nothing explaining why my account had started billing full membership price and not the frozen fee I agreed to. They are stealing. I'm trying to make things right for future customers. I went to another location to see if I could cancel without facing the hostility I received from the Vista Location. This other locations staff were appalled at what I went through and gave me two free months at their franchise and suggested I contact corporate. I tried to go in and resolve things in person, and the manager pretended to not know me. I'm just trying to protect the next person from what I went through. I'd also like to cancel and have my money back.
misleading information very poor customer service
My boyfriend and I were promised that we would receive ten days free to try out the gym to see of we liked it. Before agreeing to anything he specifically asked for the agreement papers. As we were told we would only pay 10$ that day. We could cancel anytime before the ten days if we don't like it with a full refund. But if we did like it we would be charged the 29.99$ membership monthly. Come to find d out that we were completely misinformed and lied too. My boyfriend asked 2 times to see the agreement now today we go in to try to cancel the membership only to tell us that we only had five days to cancel and we don't get the refund back. And they also still wanted to charge the monthly payment. They did everything they said they wouldn't do. They treated us like we were stupid, they were very dishonest and rude claiming that its not their fault we signed up. If you can please contact me my number is [protected] or my boyfriend Giovanni Orellana at [protected] we would really appreciate it. The lady who helped us out was Johny and the manager was Blanco.
customer service - abusive
I recently went to the Northdale Carrollwood Crunch in Tampa to see if I wanted to join. My daughter in law was trying to get me to come and see if I liked it since it was a new experience for me. I came as a guest. Because she is very physically fit, one of the trainer's came to her in a very aggressive and angry manner and accused her of training me. She told them she wasn't and that she is not a trainer. They were terrible with her! It was borderline abusive. Not only did they lose a customer in me but the several people that I was intending to bring. Someone needs to look into there customer service so they can get some serious training on how to approach people along with knowing all the facts before accusing and innocent person trying to help Crunch and myself. Shame on you!
customer service.
Rose the assistant manager at Crunch fitness stated to me they had theft from the aerobics room and that is why they started locking it but let me use it that day. They haven't posted any signs that they close the aerobics room at 10. I asked to use the room after 10 a different day, one employee stated they just cleaned it then stated they have had bad experiences with it. They were sitting at the counter using the computer not doing anything probably on Facebook or just hanging out with her friend next to her. they can see the room from the counter but didn't let me use it. I decided to write a review on yelp and let them know I will rite a bad review on yelp. I went on with my workout. On July 9 2018 I go to the gym and start working out. By the end of my workout rose the assistant manager decided to find me while I was working out. Stating bad reviews on yelp hurt the employees not the gym. That she's off of work but wanted to talk to me about my yelp review. I explained the business practices are not honest and I decided to write a review. It's not my responsibility that the gym is incompetent and can't protect the boom box in the aerobics room and then takes it out on me even though I pay for gym membership every month. She goes on to say they have video of me cursing, I ask to see it. Then she said her employees claim I cursed at them. Feeling harassed about my yelp review I call bull and told her to leave me alone and walked away. She starts yelling I cursed at her now and starts stating my membership is revoked. I don't like retaliation for writing a yelp review and stating how I feel about the business on yelp and then be harassed by the manager which stated she was conducting business off the clock. These people are so incompetent. The actual manager Jenn never contacted me.
cancelation of membership
Dear Sirs,
I belonged to the Fairless, Hills PA location. I moved to Vermont in November and cancelled my membership by speaking with a Front Desk staffer upon my final visit in October. At that time the person searched to find if there were locations in the South Burlington, VT area. After about 5 minutes or so, found that there were no locations in that area of VT.
I asked what to do, and he (front desk staff) suggested that he would look take care of it. I then proceeded to work out. Upon viewing my credit card statement recently, I found that I was still being charged the $24.99. Upon further review, I found that I have paid $199.92 in dues that I believed to be cancelled.
Upon gaining this information, I called "Gervana", she is a Manager at the Fairless Hills, PA location. She was incredibly nasty and refused to assist me. At this point, I not only want the $192.92 returned to my card immediately, I would appreciate and apology with regards to her behavior.
The account information is under my number of [protected].
PLEASE HELP!

hydro massage and crunch phone app
The hydro massage machine is out of order more often than it's working. I've had fusion surgery on my back. And have arthoritis. I really need this machine to be working. Can you please supply a more dependable one. Also the crunch app has been updated but my phone is incompatible and i can't afford a new one, can anything be done with that?Thank you for your time.
dirty dirty gym!!!
I just joined last week. I have come to the gym a total of 4 times and all times the gym has been extremely dirty, and it smells awful.
I came to the gym Saturday morning at 7:50am, I was the very first one in the door, I walked upstairs and the trashes were over floating (do you guys not clean at night before you leave?)
The floors are sticky and dirty too.
No towels and still this awful smell.
This morning (Monday) I arrived at 7am just to find out AGAIN that you have no towels, overflowing trash cans, weights all around (nothing were it should be) and your cardio machines are beyond words.
I have traveled trough the states and visited other crunches gyms. I have never in my life been to such a dirty filthy gym.
You Fit on 79th (in the ghetto) charges $10 per month and it's cleaner than Crunch in SB!
Please let me know if you plan to address this problem or I'll be looking for another gym.
I have attached a couple of videos
