A few weeks ago CVS had a one day sale on a tv converter box. The price was $40 dollars, so with the DTV Coupon it would be free. My mother in law, her sister and mother all went to different CVS's and none of them had the boxes in stock or would give out rain checks. My mother in law returned to the CVS a few days later, and the boxes were in stock and at full price, which was $60.
This past weekend, CVS ran the same sale. I went to my local CVS and the young lady at the register recited a line that must have been fed to her by management. The boxes were scheduled to arrive the following day (when the sale was over) but they were giving out rain checks. All three cashiers were giving out rain checks to almost every customer in line, because everyone wanted to purchase the boxes. Later on that day, my mother in law asked if we could nab her a rain check, and we wound up going into another CVS. The boxes were not in stock and the manager refused to give us a rain check.
This morning I called the CVS where I got the rain check and before I could finish saying "I have a rain check for the Craig DTV Converter box", the lady who picked up the phone cut me off and said they don't have the boxes, they never came in the last shipment and they are not sure when they will ever receive the boxes. Then she said to check back on Saturday.
CVS is pulling a scam with these DTV boxes. Why would they offer this item at sale price for free, and NEVER have the boxes in stock, and not have an ETA or any idea if they'll get the item in stock?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Same story hapenned to me. I checked several stores in New Jersey during the first day of sale - they had no converter boxes saying truck didn't arrive as scheduled. On the next day of sale I drove to Pensylvania on a business trip and had a chance to check their CVS stores. Same story. Only difference is that I was able to get a rain check in PA. In NJ they refused to issue rain check.
I have worked for CVS for over 2 years. The problem with the converter boxes was that we received 12 a week before the sale. On that day we sold all 12. There is no way of getting more for another week. Even then we don't know they are coming in until we get our shipment. Even then, we may only get 1 when we order much more because the entire United States is haveing this same problem and stores only get so many. We are told from loss prevention and district managers not to write out too many rain checks because we have to price modify that item which causes paper work for them. We write out about 200 rain checks a week because so many people have mulitiple cards to buy the sale items. As a cashier, we get marked down points when we price modify an item and when we do too many we get the talk not to do it any more. There is nothing we can do. Employees suffer hugely every week becuase customers do not understand that we have no control over much of this and the inconsistancies occur because we are told not to do things but it is the right thing to do to issue rain checks. So do not hassle the employees, turn all of your complaints to cvs corporate ie Tom Ryan, not to have these sales where people are abusing the system.
RACIST CVS THE COLONY TX
The CVS in The Colony Texas 75056 has a Racist Manager Mary Kay or (Marykay) if you look non-white she will follow you around. Her hands will come close to your pockets or purse - like she is trying to take something or put something in...
I'm Chinese and when I tried to ask why they have no boxes at all when on the phone she had said they have plenty of the Craig DTV ones. She said your people are shoplifters get out of the store now ![censored]!. Whatever that's supposed to mean.
I complained to CVS Customer service, and they gave me the run around.
Ok wow the boxes at the time were extremely rare to come by they just ran out be thankful u got a rain check I am a supervisor at cvs and I've been ordering them for the past 7 months and just got them in a few days ago
I work at CVS. Sort of the same situation happened at my store. The boxes went on sale and we had none, but we gave out rain checks. We didn't get the boxes in until a couple months after the sale had ended and most customers forgot about the government-issued coupons. I'd advise avoiding CVS like the plague. This whole complaintsboard bit about CVS should be enough to make you agree with me.
That was not a scam. Cvs just didn't recieve the magnitude of product that they ordered. High demand doesnt mean it will show up magically.
This is infuriating. Customers don't understand what we have to deal with on a regular basis. It sucks.
I went to CVS this morning to pickup my meds when I got home I counted them out to put in a med box. I was 18 short ! I called CVS right away. They told me it never happens. Well I am here to tell you it did happen and now I am out 18 pills. I am a Customer Sevice Front End Supervisor and I would never think to tell a customer you must be lying we are always right and never wrong. I will count them out from now on before I leave the store in front of them and take my time. Has this ever happened to you? I wonder now how many times have they shorted me on my meds because I have never counted them before never had any reason. So maybe 120 was put in but obviously 18 were taken out. Some good advice uses a pill box, count meds before leaving the store. If this has happen to you I would like to know
