When we ordered a dress on 1/16/23 in size 14; the clerk did not mention a 7 day deadline for pick up.
Website and receipt says return allowed within 7 days of you picking up the dress. That is my interpretation of the language used: 'We accept returns in-store up to 7 days after you receive your merchandise for a refuld to the orig.form of payment'. That to me reads as if we have 7 days to request a refund from the date WE receive the merchandise (not from the date the store received delivery of the merchandise.) Store enforced a policy that they called us, we did not get in to pick up dress within 7 days; therefore it was an exchange only ('We' meant date David's received the dress). Clerk then told us that we had 30 days to make the exchange and that we had to leave the dress if we were not going to select items last night for the exchange. The clerk was courteous, but did not offer help or assign a staff member to assist; they were understaffed and busy. There were 7 cocktail dresses in stock/on display. Small inventory and none in my daughters size to try on. Asked again, and clerk advised that there was a 30 day exchange time frame. Clerk relayed that if we did not go back and pick up items on the exchange within 30 days - we would have lost the amount paid for the dress. None of this is posted anywhere in the Totowa NJ store or on the receipt or website. We picked up 'stuff' to get to the $129 price paid (hair clip, underwear, bag, performe and sandals on sale) to get some value and get out of store. It was a lesson learned for me and my 16 year old and I am a practicing attorney.
Desired outcome: Return the 'stuff'and get a refund for the $127.96 paid. The store has the dress; rejected for poor manufacture (loose threads) and unflattering fit. I have both receipts but website rejected.
Alterations done on wedding gown
I picked up my wedding gown on 1/26/23 at appx 1:00 in Whitehall, PA from alterations. I tried it on and was rushed to sign if I liked it. Of course I liked it, my MOH was shown how to bustle it and then the person from alterations went back to their room and we could hear them sewing. As we continued to look the dress over we found something on the dress that stuck out and needed fixing, it was an added bra cup on the right side, my MOH went to the curtain and asked the seamstress to come out they came out and tugged at my dress from the top then the bottom and said there it’s better. I was not happy after all this is my wedding gown. My MOH looked at me and said we will take it somewhere else to be fixed that was after the seamstress went back to their sewing. We then found something else, I had a belt added to my dress, they left the David’s Bridal tag on the sheer organza that wraps on the belt. It lands on my hip so you can clearly read that on my dress! I paid 3/4 the price of my dress for alterations. The least they can do is fix their mistakes. We leave in 41 days for our Wedding!
Desired outcome: Fix the mistakes or would appreciate a response
Bridesmaid Alterations Nightmare
We went in July tried on bridesmaid dresses. One of our bridesmaid is very tiny she so all the dresses ate her alive. We were told they didn’t have the dress in any junior sizes as to that was the true size she needed. We were told the Alterations would be free because they didn’t have her correct size in it.
Dresses came her dress is just like the one in the store eats her alive. We go in for alterations today and are told she will have to pay the amount of the dress again in alterations because the dress has to be taken in so much. I requested a manager and she kept saying there is nothing she can do.
We will never shop with you all again and on every platform I have I will make sure everyone knows you can not trust what your sales representative tell you. They didn’t even offer us the 20 off of alterations that your website offers!
Desired outcome: Nothing will never shop or do business with David’s Bridal again.
Dress
Hello I am writing to file a complaint regarding a dress i purchased from David's Bridal for a wedding. When I received the dress is was like 4 sizes to big so i took in for alterations due to an upcoming wedding and i was the maid of honor, well the lady that did the alterations was shocked that the dress was so huge and attempted to find a dress in store smaller than what i was given only to be informed that the dress only came in one size which to me was never advised. Well i was clear on the alterations that i wanted and the dress was pinned to perfection in how i wanted it. SO the day that i get the call to pick up the dress i was excited cause i knew as the maid of honor this dress was going too look good on me, only to try it on and it looked ok but not what i thought it would be when i got it back, the lady wanted to charge me more just to hem it after she saw that i was not happy but i told her i didnt have the time to pay for and wait for more alterations. Fast forward to wedding day and I wanted to cry when i put that dress on and i could not cause it was not my day and the bride knew i wasupset so basically in the wedding i tried to get someone tomuse safety pins to adjust and well that failed because of some wire that was in the dress that made it hard to pin the dress so basically in the wedding i had to hold the right side of the dress the entire wedding process because it was not altered as i paid for. VEry upsetting day.
Wedding Dress
September 2022, I ordered a dress that I tried on in the store. a couple weeks later I changed my mind and it took a couple weeks to get back an appointment booked. On October 4, 2022 I chose a dress that was more manageable both price and transportation. When the very helpful lady went to exchange the dresses and accessories, there was a $300-$400 difference in my favor. I was told there was nothing they could do. They cannot issue a Gift Card, only merchandise credit that has to be used in the store at that moment. This really seemed unfair given I never took possession of the first dress or items. This happened at the Northlake store in Charlotte NC.
Desired outcome: Credit issued in form of Gift card that I can use at later time or full refund of the difference.
Return policy too rigid
I placed an order 10 days ago, and attempted to cancel my order today due to the event being cancelled, without a rescheduled date in the future. I was unable to visit the store in person on Day 8 or 9 due to prior all-day commitments. When I called the store and requested a cancellation on the order, the customer agent informed me I was outside the 7-day return window. I did not know about the event cancellation on Day 7. As soon as I knew about the event cancellation, and was able to, I attempted to reconcile the issue as quickly as possible with the local store. I have zero need for an in-store credit, because there is no future date in sight for the cancelled event. I would greatly appreciate a full return to the original form of payment.
Desired outcome: Cancellation of order and full refund to the original form of payment.
Return
I live in a rural area so I ordered three mother of the bride dresses online in June and planned on returning what I didn't want - Order No. [protected].
One of the dresses worked and I went online to request returns for the other two (one was $129.95 and the second was $399.95). I had difficulty opening the label so I returned with my own label and included the proper return address along with their RMA #[protected] and printed the return email and put it in the return package as instructed.
The same week I sent my return, I had to put my mom (who lives with me) on hospice. Unfortunately, I misplaced the tracking information. My mistake.
A couple of weeks later, I received an email that my return was being processed, however, it indicated I was only receiving $113.00.
I made multiple calls to David's Bridal over the following couple of weeks. The first two representatives I spoke to said that my return was not finished processing and to call back.
Finally today, I spoke to a representative who told me that since I did not have my tracking number, my return could not be verified. I do not understand this since clearly my return was received — why else would I be getting a return. A tracking number would not verify what items are in the package.
I also asked why I was only receiving $113 instead of the full cost of one of the dresses — I was told that I received a discount. I did not receive a discount.
I understand I don't have my tracking number. I apologize. Considering the circumstances, I was not as on top of things as I should have been. Does that really need to cost me over $400 when clearly my return was received? I would expect a bit more compassion considering the circumstances. I can provide whatever proof necessary.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the total amount of the dresses I returned.
Wedding Dress
I purchased a dress from David’s bridal on March 5th. I went in for my first alterations appointment on May 17th. When I went in, the seamstress was going to do a hymn, taking the hips, taking the waist, and do the bustle. I went back June 17th. The seamstress needed to take in the waist more, and was going to cut the under skirt because the dress was very...

I went in to David’s bridal in Lynnwood Washington, to shop For a wedding dress on 6/9 for my daughter. She found her dress and because they don’t have any stock she had to order it. We paid for that day for a total of $1500. Well, life happens and she ended up not needing the dress. I looked at the return policy online and it says that you cannot cancel an order once it is made, and then you have seven days to get a refund once you receive the dress. Well, today they called on June 26 to let us know that the dress was in. I told them that my daughter did not need the dress anymore and that I would like a refund. They told me that since it was seven days past the purchase date I could not return the dress. I have never laid hands on this dress, and we were just told today that it arrived at the store. She did tell me I could get a $1500 credit at the store that would be good for five years. I have no reason to have a credit there. I think what they are doing is wrong, stating that you have to let the order go through but you only have seven days to get a refund, and you never get the dress before that seven days expires. This is a total sham. I do not want a credit at the store, I want my money back. But I felt like I was over a barrel and so I demanded that they shipped the dress to me because I was not going to drive three hours to their store. They told me they would do so overnight, and that I would have an email tonight with the tracking number. It is 10 PM and I have yet to receive an email. I want my money back.
Desired outcome: Full refund upon my return of the unopened dress once I receive it in the mail.
Products and services
I went in to one of your locations and was very disappointed with the services of the employee and the items in the store, I was told when I called and made the appointment that there was plenty of dress options and color as well as sizes to choose from. but that was not the case once we arrived at the store. first, I was under able to find any dress in my size and there was not a variety of options that was advertise on the David bridal wed sit the employee who was assigned to assist me was not very helpful at all they spent more time help another bride that come into the store. they spent the hold time looking from me a dress and bridesmaids dresses myself the false advertisement is very disappointing for me when I play to get married on June 3, 2022, even my bridesmaids were not able to find not one dress in their sizes for the wedding day. for a first-time bride I was very sad to have to walk out without a dress myself and my bridesmaids was brought to tears. as I write this, I'm still crying so thank you very much for not making my special day special. sincerely a very unhappy bride to be Shavon Lee. I'm so lost for worlds that when I got home all I did was look at my wedding day cards and think now what I'm going to do no dress no shoes for myself or the bridesmaids such a letdown. my day will I mean wedding day is ruin so once more thanks for not helping a soon to be bride with dresses needed for that very, very special one in a lifetime dream day come true. sincerely a very unhappy bride to be Shavon Lee very disappointed

Dress never shipped used floor dress
My daughter had her "Find the Dress" day in March and picked a beautiful dress. Ok no problems there. Got it and all the accessories paid for, in full. We got her all set up for the fitting on the 2nd of April. Her dress NEVER shipped so they had to hunt for the one she tried on, floor stock. That right there should have been some type of percentage off, not just the 10% new bride discount. Yes the dress was in good condition but not pristine like they claimed. When we got there, the girl up front asked why we were there and walked us to the back. Not once did she let us know that the dress was in the back and not with the alterations. Good thing she had a few inches cut off because the hem was terrible. Then we had to pay nearly $600 for the alterations, SERIOUSLY?!?! What is sad is that not 1 person could tell her where exactly the dress was that was supposed to be in. They have absolutely no concept of looking to see the day of alterations in conjunction with the arrival of the dress. The dress was supposed to be ready on the 6th of this month(May). The seamstress working on the dress got sick(yes I understand this as well, people get sick) and now another guarantee that the dress will be ready on the 13th. In an instance of a seamstress getting sick, there should be another that knows what it going on and can hop to it so it will be ready, always have 2 knowing what is going on with 1 dress in cases like this. Especially for the price that was paid. We went to the store to talk with the manager about all this and was told it would be 10 minutes. We waited nearly an hour with 3 hungry kids. As we were walking out is when they decided that they would get the manager. All they had to tell us was that she was at lunch and we would have went to lunch and returned to talk. There is no guarantee the dress will be done Friday. So far the only person that we did not have problems with was the man that did her "find the dress". He was great. And I have found out that the particular store we went to has a lot of problems of the employees not really knowing their job.
Desired outcome: What would I like in this outcome, some type of refund on either the dress or alterations. Not a full refund, gosh no because the employees need their pay as well but with all that has happened, yes a partial refund would work.
Return policy and exchange policy are horrible
Bought 3 dresses. No return policy stated on my purchase email.
Busy first week. Sick 2nd week.
Opened box start of 3rd week. Tried on dresses.
2 dresses to return. Found insert in box. Says I am too late. Must be within 14 days.
Email company. No answer.
Phone company. Told I can not return. Tell me I only had 7 days to return. They did not communicate that to me in email. Yes - it's onsite if you look for it - but why would I ever think 7 days is good customer service?
So they say I have to exchange, but I have to keep the dresses until my daughter can tell me what she wants for the wedding from the online store, since I only need 1 dress.
This company's return and exchange policy sucks. They should at least allow a credit so the dresses can be returned asap!
Desired outcome: refund $199X2 dresses minus restocking fee which is either $12 total or $12 per item.
Bridesmaids dress return
Bought a brand new bridesmaid dress just before the pandemic in 2020. Fast forward this year the wedding was called off, and I will be buying a new bridesmaid dress from David’s bridal for a wedding in august. I would really wish to exchange the old dress completely unworn with the tag on for the new one, or at very least get store credit.
Desired outcome: Exchange dress or store credit
My bridal fitting
This was supposed to be one of the most wonderful days of my life. unfortunately, it was not. Previously before walking into Davids bridal I was so happy and excited to have my friends and family around me as I picked out my special dress. this was far from what I got. From the moment I walked through the door these women thought they were queen bees. they looked at my friends and family with discussed ...we felt weird, uncomfortable, and judged...completely opposite of what I was supposed to be feeling. they treated us terribly I just want everyone to know. I wanted to cry when leaving there. they acted like we were just way beneath them and did not belong there. we even spent $2000 dollars there. still treated like garbage. sad to say I will never go here again.
Wedding Dress Purchase
IF I COULD PUT A ZERO STAR RATING I WOULD.
I had the absolute worst experience at the Maple Grove David's Bridal. I went in on Feb 15th, 2022 with intentions on buying the dress that i love but wanting to wait until my bridal party was able to come with me to make the final decisions on my purchase. As the end of my appointment approached i was told that if i did not purchase my dress that day that i would not be able to get any sort of the diamond loyalty discounts on my dress and that i would be paying more for it in the long run. So i purchased my dress.
Fast forward to the day i am supposed to go pick up my dress 03/05/2022. I go in and ask to try it on to make sure that i still love it as much as i did the first time. And when i put it on of course i still loved my purchase but there were some snags and major flaws in the dress that prevented me from taking it home that night. The manager Nicole (i believe is the manager that i was dealing with) decided that they would reorder my dress which i was grateful that they would do that. So here we are waiting until 3/21/2022 for my dress to arrive yet again. This time i drive back down there to pick it up and when i did a look over on my dress it had even more flaws wrong with it. More fraying, beads missing, snags in the skirt, and green threading in the skirt, and it was DIRTY. So Nicole took pictures of my dress and said she would find out what they could do about it and they would reorder it again for a 3rd time. Staying in constant contact with Nicole via text message which was great (trying to get through on the phone to that store is almost impossible) she assured me that my dress would be expedited and be available in a week. Nicole gave me the tracking number for my dress. It was delivered to the store on 04/4/2022. I waited until 4/7/2022 to reach out about an update on my dress at which the response i got was "I go in at 2pm and i will look it over as soon as i get there" i waited until 3:15pm to reach out to her again to see if she had a chance to look at my dress. She then stated to me that my dress is still messed up and she was talking to her corporate office to see what can be done. Then i responded with this is ridiculous and i should get some sort of compensation for all the struggles that i have gone through to purchase this dress and i would like to come down tonight to look at other dresses and see if i can find something else that i like and order that one. Her response was i am booked today and i can not make time for you. I asked for her managers contact information. At that point the response from the manager was "from here on out, i will no longer be responding to you via text, i have to be on the sales floor"
With all that said and done i took it upon myself to try to find a solution and contacted the Oakdale location to see if they would be able to assist me in finding a dress that i am not going to have issues with. The manager over there was very kind and very understanding of my situation and i went down on 4/7/2022 and ended up ordering a new dress which is now set to arrive in May which my wedding is in August.
All around though i live 1.5 hours away from these locations. I drove to the maple grove location 3 times and Oakdale once so far.
When this is all said and done i will have driven to David's bridal 7 times for a total of 14 hours in the car for a wedding dress.
Did Maple Grove do anything to make this right you may ask... the answer is NO.
I contacted Chad the regional manager and he has also been fairly rude with me.
I do not recommend this location to anybody.
Desired outcome: Full refund and alterations done at no cost
I feel they should reimburse me some of my fees since the outcome was horrible.
Bought a dress from David's Bridal in Ahwatukee, Arizona. Everything from the beginning went wrong they pushed a veil on me that looked horrible. I returned it and they wouldn't give it back to me on my debit card as I paid for it brand new tags still on it within time period. Then when I picked up my dress after the alterations. I tried it on 'and the eye hook was held up by a pin not even sewed on it flew onto the floor had 2 witnesses laughing; then not to mention they sewed all the buttons for the bussle in all the wrong places sat there for over 2 to 3 hours for them to hurry up and finish my dress as my wedding was in 2 days. I had my wedding and my dress had to be held by two people the whole time for the chapel and for the pictures the dress was beautiful. David's Bridals customer service is horrible there and they can't sew to save their lives.

Corporate return policy for purchases ordered in store and shipped to store
Buyer Beware!
Do not order any items from a David Bridal store, that has to be shipped to the store. That goes for a Wedding Dress, that you saw online - that they don't have in the store to look at or even try on, and they want you to purchase first. The trick is to keep your money and give you a store credit, even if you don't like the dress after you try it on! So now you're stuck having to buy your dress from their company. How are you stuck, you ask? Well, their receipt says "No Returns after 7 days of purchase". That rule only works for items that you purchase and take out the store with you that day, only! Not for orders you place while in store and being shipped. Because the date of purchase is just that - the day you paid for it. It has nothing to do with the day it arrives and in your possession. My bra arrive 2 weeks after purchase. So, no refund, but store credit. Tricky, tricky, David Bridal.
So, the customer is at their whim because the customer can't control if the item arrives 7 or more days after purchase. Called customer service and they believe this practice is correct. I'm just so glad I had the common sense not to purchase a plus size dress I was looking to try on. I'm mean, Every dress I selected to try on, in plus size, wasn't there. They said, in order to have it sent to the store to try on, Id have to purchase it first. How can I buy a dress I haven't tried on? With this no payment refund after 7day purchase rule, they would've kept my money and give a store credit if it did not fit right, and the dress arrived to the store, 7 days or later. I didn't agree with that practice and went else where. Other bridal stores only charges $50.00 if your dress in not there to try on and $25.00 of your payment gets credited toward your dress. Not like David Bridal who wants to trap you and keep all your money so you can only buy from them.
I just want to spare you the surprise at David's Bridal where your whole Wedding Dress budget will be held ransom till they make you buy from them. If they had good merchandise, they wouldn't have to entrap customers to sustain their business.
Congratulations on your engagement and have fun planning one of the best days of your life! Shop wisely.
Desired outcome: Credit Card Refund
I was lied to about the layaway policy, which resulted in my buying a different cheaper dress one size too big… I was also lied to about it being the last dress and that it was being discontinued and that is why I had to pay for the dress upfront… now the dress is back online, in the correct size. I really just want to exchange the dress I got for the one I wanted.

Basically the same thing happened to me. Their policy is not ethical.
Returning/exchanging bridesmaid dress
I had placed an order a few months ago, it was sent to the wrong address and was not given to me until recently. At the time of ordering, I had ordered the same dress in three different sizes as I did not know which size I would need. I am planning on wearing one of the dresses, but wanted to return the other two. I called and they said that there was nothing they could do.
Desired outcome: I would like to either be able to return the two dresses or at least get an exchange/store credit for them.
Returning/exchanging a dress.
I along with the rest of the wedding party purchased our bridesmaids dresses for my brothers wedding that was scheduled for an October wedding Due to Covid the wedding had to be pushed to June 2022. We needed to change the dresses due to changes in the wedding and season, we did purchase the dresses at David's bridal had the other dresses' with tags and order numbers but were not allowed any store credit or exchanges not even half the amount of what we paid. I feel like something could have been done regarding the dresses especially since we purchased the new dresses there as well. Now we are stuck with dresses that we will never use.
Desired outcome: Some type of credit /refund.
Bridesmaid dress
Ordered a dress for an August 22nd wedding, put in the order and the payment was accepted. A week later, received an email stating that the dress will be available October 22! Contacted your CS number and was connected to the greatest agent for David's Bridal... her name is Angela. She helped me find a dress that was in the same framework as the original...
