$17 administration fee for toll violation
I'm also being charged a $17 fee for missed Illinois tolls. I have an I-Pass because I normally pay 4 tolls a day to get to & from work, so that's 20 tolls in a week. Had a rental for a full week & apparently it didn't register 3 out of those 20 times. A couple years ago when I had a rental & missed a toll (didn't register), Enterprise just forwarded the charges from Illinois Tollway to me, I called up the Illinois Tollway, told them my I-Pass transponder ID, tolls get paid, end of story. But now, Enterprise claims it's paying on your behalf and for them to do this, costs them $17. Unless you monitor your I-Pass account religiously, you won't know if the transponder registers or not when going through the I-Pass lane. And when you're in a rental, monitoring your I-Pass account is probably not one of the concerns you have since you rejoice when that you even remembered to transfer it from your car to the rental. This is a HIDDEN FEE from Enterprise & just a practice for them to generate more revenue, especially since they already have your credit card. No one responds to their customer service number [protected], and is really just an answering machine that takes a message that no-one probably even listens to). That number instructs you to leave only a 30 second message which means they really don't care what you have to say. Dispute the charges with your Credit Card company and avoid Enterprise for one of these shady practices that you never asked for.

bogus damage claim
I rented an SUV from Enterprise at the Denver Airport. Agent and I both walked around the vehicle and checked for damage. When I returned the vehicle 3 days later, the Rep checking in the unit, jumps up on the door sill inspecting the Roof and complaining of damage. Needless to say I was shocked as I just used the vehicle to go to and from Meetings and had...

Recent business requirements have meant frequent trips in and out of the Newark Airport, and Enterprise had been the rental car firm of my choice.
When the vehicle in question was checked out, it was at night, and the Enterprise representative noted that the review, less than two minutes in length, was a "mere formality", and that any damage incurred would have to be larger than the size of a quarter to be relevant.
Upon returning the vehicle, another representative spent a good fifteen minutes fine combing the vehicle, and decided that there was now visible damage, multiple small dents the “might have been caused by hail” to the roof of the car. I had difficulty seeing the damage she referenced and disputed her observations. She replied that I would have to take that up with the “damage assessment” group.
There is no damage visible in the photographs sent by Enterprise in response to my complaint, and none would have been visible at the time the vehicle was checked out - particularly given that neither I nor the representative specifically stepped up to examine the roof in the dark with flashlight. While the vehicle was in my possession, it was not exposed to heavy weather. Either there is no damage, or it existed on the vehicle prior to my rental.
Repeated attempts to reach Enterprise by phone, and messages left on voice mail, to discuss this claim and how best to dispute the claim have been unsuccessful. Repeated requests for a copy of the original, signed contract - not a computer generated receipt - have also been unsuccessful.
The claim is fraud, the “customer service” is awful, and the corporate response is boilerplate. Enterprise, and its National and Alamo affiliates, will never see another nickle of my personal funds, or any business from my corporation or its employees.
I did follow up with the social media coordinator, and was eventually able to speak to the regional manager. The problem was resolved, the claim was cancelled, and the money refunded. It should not have required three months and an appeal to social media to get a resolution from Enterprise about the situation, but I am satisfied with the outcome.

I had extremely bad experience with the Enterprise too. I will never rent a car from them even if it were free.
Enterprise, for the most part, is underhanded and sleazy. Nearly everyone that has ever had any dealings with one of their "neighborhood locations" or "airport rental sites" (where the cars are always located way off-grounds) knows this. And we expect all of this - bare-bottom-basic-stripped-to-the-bones, over-utilized, worn-out, reeking-of-smoke vehicles (my last two "standard-sized" Florida rentals both had; 1) NO airconditioning - 2) Over 35, 000 miles - 3) no power windows or door locks - 4) Filthy cloth interiors - and ... 5, 6 and 7) NO AIRCONDITIONING ...
But I forget my main point here ... Anyway ... Enterprise Rental - where the slogan should be, "Pay more ... Get less - And then get raped with ### fees that the 20-year-old working the counter pulls out of his/her ### ('We had to vacuum it')")
You don't get what you pay for.
reservation not honored
Went online to the bjs car rental site and made a car reservation with enterprise for june 11-13, 2013. reservation (confirmation # s4n113) was with the enterprise location at 200 w beltline hwy, madison, wi. this was not an airport location and reservation was made a week in advance to pick up full size car at noon june 11, since that day I had an appointment in northern wi at 3 pm, so I was allowing for the drive time to get to my appointment. at this enterprise location, a female agent called me at 11 am (an hour before my pick-up time) and told me they did not have a car for me and that i'd have to wait until 3-5 pm before they would have a car available.in retrospect, i'm guessing that someone was standing at their counter and told them they'd pay a higher rate for my reserved car. it's all about the money and screw the person with the reservation. I should have just gone to their location to see how many cars they had on their lot and demanded that with a reservation, I was entitled to an upgrade if they didn't have the full size car I reserved, or they take me to another location that did. I was pressed for time since I needed to be on the road no later than 12:30, so called avis. I will never rent from enterprise again since they have such unscrupulous practices.

I rented a car in a small aiport location in Michigan. I even had to take taxi to go to that location because there was no car elsewhere. When I went there, I was informed that no car was available even though I make a reservation. When I asked of they will pay for the difference of car rental if I go to other vendors, the assistance denied me. I was left in the middle of nowhere in a new city to me. I was charged a huge amount for the taxi rides that I did not need since I did not have a car anyways. I am calling everyone to find out how this can be resolved...
damage to car
Time to vent. (Mad as an old setting hen) On vacation and 2 more times in a year for the last 6 or 7 years we rent cars from Enterprise Car Rental. Some years we get up to 4 rentals. We rented this car Friday for vacation. It was raining in Dothan that day and since I trusted this company I didnt look at the car like I have done. Today when we turned it in they said that there was 3 dents from hail damage on the roof top and no where else. We came through rain but not hail. Friday they had to put this car in computer before they signed it out to me. Makes me wonder that in the rain maybe they did not catch this from the last renter. Also notice the tag. It is a Mass. tag. I am so mad because I have to get my insurance to pay for the damage that I cant even see in these pictures. If I have to pay my deductible to fix nothing seen then I will never rent from them again. All other car rentals give us a discount working at SAMC. I just always have liked Enterprise...till now.:(

damage fraud
In January 2013, my wife and I went on vacation to Oahu. We got a pretty inexpensive rental rate at this specific Enterprise location and desided to take our business there. The staff at the location were very kind and helpful, even if it did take quite a while to get our car ready. Well, when we walked out to the vehicle (Nissan Rogue)- it was raining...

My problem occurred after the rental car was returned. I checked my credit card and found a $4.70 toll charge. I called Enterprise and was sent the toll violation report. Husbands car broke down on Feb.14, 2013 coming home from S.C. where he works to N.C. where we live. He had it towed to a transmission place that said it would be repaired the next day. It wasn't. He got a hotel room for two nights. They still had not repaired the car. He had Enterprise come pick him up so he could get a rental car and go back to where he works since the whole weekend was shot. After getting to enterprise and getting a copy of his license they wouldn't even rent a car to him because he had a N.C. license! They picked him up from a hotel! Did they think he lived there? All of this ended up being half the day and by the time they told him this is was closing time and all other places were closed too. So he ended up calling a friend to drive two hours to come pick him up! Since when does a car rental agency not rent to people from out of state that is crazy! People fly around the world and get rental cars and he was unable to get one to drive within S.C. to get back to work! I will NEVER recommend Enterprise to anyone EVER! my e-mail is [protected]@yahoo.com we live in Waynesville, nc

Enterprise regularly descriminates and picks and chooses it customers. Based on the color of their skin or their outward appearance.
cost
I had a stop over for 4 hours and I wanted to check my vacation home 4 miles from the airport. i am a member of Enterprise and thought they want my business so I did not check in advance. When I went to the window the cheapest car was starting at $90.00 for the day. I explained I need it for about 2hours and 16 miles of driving. They said $90.00 and that did not include taxes, fees or the gas. I rented cars for the weekend with unlimited miles for less. So I took my business somewhere else. I am no longer a Enterprise member.

returned damaged
I rented a vehicle online from Enterprise to be picked up upon arriving in Charleston. I arrived late into Charelston airport where the rental agency was located and proceeded to checkout in a 2012 Nissan Altima. The representative provided me with keys and said to walk out through the parking lot flashing the lights on the key fob to locate. Three days later I returned the vehicle and was greeted by the agent stating there is damage to the front right fender. While no damage was done or accident in which I was involved in, the Enterprise rep performed a background check on the vehicle and indicated no prior damage was reported therefore making me responsible. I was contacted by an adjustor (from Enterprise) suggesting that they would move forward with a claim to recover the costs for damages to the vehicle. I suggested that since the employee did not perform a walkthrough prior to renting the vehicle, the burden of proof would lie on Enterprise. Instead, the claims representative indicated that it not not Enterprise's policy to perform a walk through "when it is dark outside". What about when it is light outside? Is there a formal process and protocol that representatives must follow? I received no answer and was told that I would be hearing from Enterprise with the estimate of damages.
Does anyone have any information that I can use to support whether Enterprise bears any responsibility in this matter?

100% argee
Enterprise called me after I returned a rental claiming I damaged it. I made a trip back to the rental office to see what he was talking about. There was a scuff on the front bumper. I told the rep the damage wasn't there when I picked it up, and the damage wasn't there when I dropped it off. I asked the rep, "how do I know you didn't damage the car when trying to move it in this cubicle of a parking lot? The car is not in the same spot where I dropped it off at." The rep, like a broken record kept saying, "you're responsible for the damage." The rep resorted to a technicality - my initials on the contract agreeing there was no damage at the start of rental period. This is clearly a common business practice to increase profits - if you decline their insurance coverage on the rental, they blame you for damage you didn't cause. Then, the next technicality. If you return the vehicle after or before hours, you are responsible for the vehicle even with it being on their property. So lets get this straight. I returned the vehicle before office hours so I stay within the rental period and avoid being charged extra hours or an extra day. Had I waited for the office to open, I would have been over the rental period. More money for Enterprise. Like magic, there is damage to the car that has been moved from the place I parked it when I left it. But of course, Enterprise didn't damage it. Or did they? Or was it there already? The car was back in the care, custody and control of Enterprise and moved.
I have NEVER rented a car from Enterprise and the agent/rep didn't walk out & do a inspection of the vehicle before placing the keys in my hand...I have always used Enterprise and have never had a issue such as this one. For I will NEVER EVER leave without a inspection of a vehicle for this reason being...Seem as someone was in a hurry perhaps time for he/she to get of work or perhaps YOU...And the fact that Enterprises have your signature stating if the vehicle is return with damage you're held responsible for the damages, and quick walk through would have prevented this, since this was not done and should have been I really don't know who at fault, its your words against the rep that rented you the vehicle...But if I was you I would argue the fact that he/she failed to do walk through inspection of the vehicle, for I do know that is part of their job description upon renting and checking the vehicle back in...Good Luck!
damage done to vehicle that was not done by me
I recieved a rental car from insurance through Enterprise Rental Car. I picked up original vehicle on Friday and reaized that I would like something a little more gas efficient so I went to other enterprise location to "swap" for another vehicle that was better gas efficient than the one I had. The did not give me seperate paper work only made notes on the carbon copy they had previously given me. When I go to turn it in they inform me that there is "damage" to the vehicle. They bill me $500 dollars and are trying to get claim with my insurance. I did not have the carbon copy that they signed off on and they do not have a copy of the documentation either. The ball was dropped on this situation, but now I am liable for this matter and I am upset about this. They are acting like because I don't have the copy I am responsible for this incident.
I need this issue resolved and I need it resolved quickly. I am very disappointed at how this situation has been handled so far and am hoping for a speedy and expedited response to this situation.

tolls
I received a letter in the mail today telling me I missed a toll charge of $0.30 and there would be a fee of $17. A total of $17.30 would automatically be charged to my card on file. I've left a message at the number provided in the letter and of course received no reply. I do not think this is acceptable and I will be taking action with my credit card company for unauthorized charges to my card. I will NEVER use Enterprise again. The letter starts off with "We continue to look for ways to deliver the kind of service and products that bring customer like you back again." I'm no marketing specialist, but I think you're on the wrong track!

toll violation
I recieved a letter from Enterprise stating I had a Toll Violation. The only thing I get from them is an Enterprise Receipt. Since I did not go anywhere near this toll location (Baltimore, Maryland) I can't believe they are just arbitrarly charging me this fee with no proof that my rental car was even there. IS ENTERPRISE SLAPPING JUST ANY CUSTOMER WITH THEIR TOLL CHARGES WITHOUT PROOF THAT THEY HAVE THE CORRECT RENTAL? Obviously there was no EZ-Pass device on my rental so for the state to charge Enterprise and Enterprise to come to me, I need to see a dated license plate picture on my rental from the Toll location. If Enterprise is going to charge me then they need proof that the car was the same one I was driving with a picture. Otherwise they are just passing on a toll violation to customers without concern for thier customer. You can't just send a reciept and think this is legal.
"so yeah they can". Taken out of context, you are correct. Pointless but correct... save it.

My mother rented a van from them several weeks ago for a work trip to New York. My mother brought the car home Friday night. Saturday morning my dad came home from work and my mother told him that she got a message saying that the oil needs changed. Me and my dad took a look at the Van. I noticed something was wrong and told my dad. The van had on the front two DIFFERENT tires which is dangerous. Plus the van dirty. We took the Van back and got another Van which had all the correct tires but the van was dirty.
When my mother took the car back she told them this and the person asked "How she liked the van?"
I recently rented a car from Enterprise in April and drove to chicago and paid the toll after returning from my journey but unfortunately put in the wrong regstration plate no and I've the email and bank statement as proof of payment and when I called the toll I was told yes I did pay but enterprise will have to contact them for a refund. When I tried contacting the phone no on the enterprise letter nobody seem to pick it up.I'm very disappointed in enterprise - used to use Hertz and they would always mail me the toll violation without charging and if that had happened I would have had none of these problems..Now I'm stuck with a $ 130 charge.

deposit refund
I cant understand why it takes enterprise rent a car a minute to hold or withdraw money from my account for car rental but it takes days and weeks to return my $150 deposit back to my account. Can somebody explain why to me?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
It's been 8 business days since I returned my rental and I have not gotten my deposit back. My bank says they can't help me. This really upsets me because I had a very pleased experience picking up and dropping off.
Returned the car back with some gas in it because when I picked it up, it didn't have any. Come back that following Monday it was closed and now one answered to let them know I'm coming in hot and late. They said they process it and told me it was now on my account. Never saw a deposit or even a pending one. Neither did Regions Bank, and I was sitting there talking to the representative of Enterprise with the them. Enterprise rep was telling to wait and it's not their fault. Regions was doing there job and while it might take 5 to 10 days, there should still be a reason as to why it would take that long. It should not take that long, maybe...maybe 2 days max. I will never rent from Enterprise again and even before that I had issues with this company. Last vehicle had left overs from weed in the console and being in law enforcement, I had to call my big wig and tell them what was up. Poor work and business ethic and no regard for customers well being.

I’m having the same problem rented a car on nov 21 and returned it on the 23 of 2018 drop car off clean and full of gas also was told I would be receiving my full deposit back . I called the bank to see what’s going on and was told a lot of Bank of America customers are have problems getting their money back from enterprise. I don’t understand they can take ur money in minutes but take forever to get it back. This will be my last time doing business with them I will be giving them a bad review after seeing I’m nt the only one.

I am currently having this same problem . I returned the car on April 7th 2021 and today May 7th I have yet to see the deposit . Everything is done via email therefore I have to wait to hear from someone (which has taken forever ) I’m currently on hold as I type . Did a 3 way with my bank and the credit department to which my bank verified nothing has been received and I am still getting the run around . This is pathetic and for better words anyway I will never rent again from enterprise. Mind you I payed over $2, 500 for a 28 day rental . My money was taken but can’t refund me my deposit on time . No one knows now what happened ..
YoRod, this team is happy to take a closer look at your rental in order to help and provide some answers. Please email Care@Enterprise.com with your contact telephone number, email address, exact rental office location, and your reservation and rental agreement number. Thank you! – Carol H.
Maybe it used to be returned the day you finish the contract but it's clearly not that way. My credit card is instant, they do not hold funds. I've talked with them. Im still waiting for you guys to release my $300 deposit. I had to turn around & re-rent the same vehicle the day I finished a 30 day use & pay another $300. So currently enterprise has $600 worth of deposits from me for the same car all because they can't extend a rental beyond 30 days.

Wow so not getting a refund is normal for enterprise I rented my car took it back on 11-9-18 and still no refund they now tell me mam we refunded your deposit its on your bank side so I called the bank and the bank said they have no control over the refund and it should only take no more than 5 business days to put it back on my card I have called several times and the employees just give me a sorry we have no control over where your money is I asked for a number from the manager and he said that it's now visas problem no sorry Enterprise when you take someone's money you are the one responsible for making sure the money is placed back on the card .I find that someone is enjoying my deposit and because I did not get my refund my family suffers no meal for thanksgiving .I will never trust Enterprise liked the car hate the customer service I received .I will not stop in tell I receive my refund sorry very bad business so I say if I did not return the car on time you would seek legal action so maybe I should seek legal action because you took my money and have not returned it on time .11-21-2018

I was an Uber Enterprise partner until it abruptly ended in Sept. I received an email from UBER Enterprise stating we would get our refunds back within 7 to 10 business days. It has been almost 30 days and NO CHECK! I have repeatedly called and complained 10 times to enterprise with reps that don't have any relevant info, on top of that a lackadaisical uber enterprise branch manager that is either incompetent or could care less. This is getting so ridiculous! Enterprise never has any answers when it came to the Uber Enterprise partnership, and the Regional manager was scheduled to call me 4 times now..I'll hold. I have rented from them for 13 years and never knew they were this terrible. I'm never renting again, nor would I suggest it to anyone. I'm in progress of starting litigation if neccesary, and to me that's pathetic. #Neveragain!

My wife was rear-ended on her way to work this morning in a rental from Enterprise. The other driver was at fault. I'm very curious what will happen when she informs them about the incident? We had to give a $200. deposit. Plus we used our own insurance. We have a lawyer already so if we can't get the refund back quickly to put towards the deductible for our insurance, as I'm assuming we will have to pay to get it fixed, we will inform them as well as the BBB and local newspaper.

Its been over a week and i am still waiting for my deposit to be returned to my account. When i call, i am told that the accountant said has been sent and its a problem with my bank. There was no problem with the bank when i rented the car. The money was taken out my account immediately, but now its a problem with the bank when its time for them to return the money. illinois toll violation
After a rental in September out of Midway Airport, I received a letter from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Violations office in Lombard alleging a toll violation and levying a $15 administration fee. You call the number, get 30 seconds to leave a message and maybe they will get back to you. This is exceedingly frustrating and a very poor way to treat a good customer. If i don't get satisfaction on this, I will cancel our 2 pending reservations (Thanksgiving and Christmas) and go elsewhere for future rentals.
The thing is, we had an Enterprise transponder on the dashboard when we went through the toll booth. I have the rental slip to prove this.
-Bo G.
RESOLVED. The Lombard office eventually called me back. I explained that I had an i-pass supplied by Enterprise. The agent waived the charge. Done.
RESOLVED. The Lombard office called me back eventually. I directed the agent's attention to the rental agreement where it clearly shows that we had an Enterprise supplied i-pass transponder. She waived the charge. Done.
death threats by san fran, ca assistant manager
This is on imbd 'barak obama' board. It reports the activities of the enterprise assistant manager at the union square office in san francisco, ca, rodney a. Johnson. This involves many company resources and is on company time. It has been researched in prep for a federal complaint. He also goes on many imbalanced : homicidal, homophobic, leftist and racial rants. Police need to be involved as he appears to be a threat to others.

Die painfully okay? Prefearbly by getting crushed to death in a
Garbage compactor, by getting your face cut to ribbons with a
Pocketknife, your head cracked open with a baseball bat, your stomach
Sliced open and your entrails spilled out, and your eyeballs ripped
Out of their sockets. *beep*
I really hope that you get curb-stomped. It'd be hilarious to see you
Begging for help, and then someone stomps on the back of your head,
Leaving you to die in horrible, agonizing pain. *beep*
Whatever. I can deal personally. Rodney, though, is a sick puppy who, as you may know, has cyber-stalked benji for years now. Out of curiosity, I google'd the text of the threat that he sent me, and found some pretty interesting things.
He has sent the same threat to many other people, including a prominent conservative blogger;

We know how rodney feels about ayn rand.

The only thing i've done so far is shoot that blogger an e-mail and let her know where exactly they are coming from in case she gets any more. I haven't done anything else.
So, should we leave it alone, or let her know what he's been up to?
Oh, and rodney, if this thread is deleted it's coming right back up, buddy. I'm sure you know how copy and paste works by now, with that mass threat and all.
assistant manager is posting death threats on line from work in san fran, ca

He has sent the same threat to many other people, including a prominent conservative blogger;

discriminatory business practices
After doing business with Enterprise over the years for the majority of my car rental needs, I decided to call them and get a rate on a rental. After talking with the representative, he asked if my Visa card was a credit card or debit card. I told him it was a debit card. Well, he then told me that they would charge a $250 deposit on the card, and then to...

Yesterday I received toll violation for car rented in Aug'13 from Enterprise . I was charged for single toll violation $0.75 which i was aware of and i had already talked to highway toll administration and they had confirmed to me that 3 tolls violations are exempted in a 24 months timeframe, so i never pursued further. Now Enterprise is charging me hefty admin fee of $17 which i fail to understand.
I tried calling call center number listed on notice i recieved, but it keeps going to voicemail. i am not happy with enterprise car rental company.
