Membership and training scams
EOS refuses to give any paperwork to confirm that they have cancelled your account, or cancelled your training sessions. Instead, the Operations Manager and the General Manager will say they can't give you any paper confirmation but verbally promise and swear they did it. They did this to us twice, once after a year then they said it was done. And again after an entire SECOnd year went by, then they again suddenly start automatically pulling tons of money out of our bank account and say they have no record of a cancellation.
Desired outcome: I would like the company to return my money and apologize.
Cancelled membership
I cancelled my membership in Sep 2021. I moved away ON 9/29/2021 and cancelled before the move. Since then I have seen charges appear on my bank account several times. On 1/24 (today) I see another charge but this time EOS fitness overdrew my account since I did not have funds to cover it.
Desired outcome: i want a full refund of all charges after 10/1/2021 plus the $32.00 NSF Fee
Poor customer service
Hello, My name is Tercharnique I am emailing you because me and my Fiancé Cedel Thomassin recently experienced rood customer service on two different occasions by an employee who fits the description orange hair age 19, height 5, 1, weight, 160 pounds who works the night shift Thursday's and may be in the process of changing her hours to avoid...

False advertising - don't bother paying extra for the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, movie theater, classes, etc... They don't monitor who goes in. Anyone can enter, so don't let them trap you into extra money. I have emailed them to cancel my contract. They say I need 30 days, but that is impossible, as they are charging me on the 29th, and I only signed up the...

have continued to be charged for a service that I have never gotten to use and because of the poor experience i have had since joining, I never intend to use it or even want to continue my membership with EōS.
I've given both in person in October to Anisa Scott and via email on 10/20 notice to Shane Corliss my intent to cancel the personal training. He acknowledged having received my email prior to his untimely passing. The contract was up in November and I am still being charged.
Desired outcome: Stop charging me and cancel membership
Standards and compliance
On 21 December 2021 I visited my EŌS gym at 8615 W Rome Blvd, Las Vegas 89149. The notice states mask wearing is mandatory; however once in I counted at least 30 people who were not wearing masks. at 1030 I went to the manager who stated he was going to send staff around to remind members. By 1100 this hasn't happened and I left, concerned for my safety. I found the implantation of the EOS requirement lacking and put members in jeopardy by not only those members not adhering to the requirement, but by the management at this gym and all his staff. I expect a remedy to the requirement to be in place in the near future, otherwise I will have no option but to end my membership at EOS and recommend any others who are considering EOS to take their business elsewhere, where management actually care for their members and will implement a management requirement.
Desired outcome: Staff education and enforcement of policy.

EOS Fitness, 59th and Thunderbird, Glendale, AZ
They post the wrong fees on their website and when you go sign up they wont give you that price and then also charge you hidden fees.
LeQuita G. at the 59th and Thunderbird location was rude and sarcastic when telling me that I did not pay my fees in front of other customers. She would not call to verify that I did indeed pay my fees and would not let me workout.
I got rude back at her and then she let me workout with sarcasm remarks. Managers should call and verify when a customer says they paid the fees instead of calling them liars. Her manager also was very sarcastic with me when I tried to get information on why they said I did not pay my fees.
Desired outcome: Treat people with respect and stop lying.
Memberships
Wow, I will be the 50th person posting and still only 1 star average.
My experience led me not to sign up for a membership. Prior to COVID19, I had a membership and it was decent except when I wanted to cancel it; I spent much time and energy and written correspondence to ensure they would stop charging me every month. Come to find out, EOS changed their billing system after COVID19 so none of the info they had on file was up to date. (If everyone knew this I smell a class action lawsuit).
So I received a flyer in the mail for $9.99/mo and $0 down. I went in and was given a 7day pass. The salesperson acted like he had no idea about the flyer but scheduled me for their open-house. A few days later, I received a phone call from an unknown number and the person is asking for me by name. Now I know better cause of all the telemarketing and spammers and identity thieves so I first asked "who is this and where are you from" "It's your salesperson from EOS and I wondered if we can change your open-house to a day earlier?" I thought why not and so I changed my schedule and went to the open house a day earlier. Guess what? The guy I spoke with on the phone wasn't there so I spoke with another staff member. Same scripted speech…"what brings you into EOS" mumble jumble. This salesperson again has no idea about the flyer for $9.99/mo with $0 down. However, he's quick to offer grey plan for $19.99 and $149 down or basic plan for $9.99 and $20 down. Except the basic plan doesn't offer me the services I use but because I've been to EOS before I ask, "So if I buy the basic how do you know if I'm using the sauna or cinema because there are never any staff members checking to see who has what membership?" The salesperson said, "I don't know. But honestly, we only check for who is using the classrooms and if I saw you in the Cinema I wouldn't say anything."
They made the decision for me. I will be volunteering at a food bank as part of my workout and interacting with people who care about other people.
Desired outcome: Equality, honesty and fairness
Scammed into a contract with EōS
I went to originally pay off my debt that went into collections with Eos fitness and a sales Agent Vincent and Mark and the blue Diamond and Decatur location said they were paying off my debt in collections and signing me up for a new gym membership with a personal trainer. They did not tell me I was in a 6 month contract, I will be paying them $1, 075, and when I tried to cancel literally the week I signed up no one will return my calls and they said I had to go back in.
Desired outcome: I want my gym membership canceled without a bunch of inconvenience
Monthly service fee.
So I am a teller. I used to work for chase so opened an account with them now I work for Mountain America Credit Union and bank with them as well but still have my chase account active. I no longer use my chase as a primary so when I see that EOS has charged me, I deposit the funds into the account. I kept seeing I was getting hit with $50 fee's. It's been for about 4 months now and I saw one that was charged for $63.00 finally I thought I'd call and see if my membership was changed or what. When I call Shirley from 59th and olive answered and claimed it was because there were insufficient funds. I told her it wasn't my primary account but I get notifications every time a payment comes through and I transfer the fund immediately. She was being very rude so and told me she was gonna have someone else explain it. I don't know if it was an accident but she hung up on me so I called again and she answered rude and said the reason why she put me on hold was because she wanted someone else to explain it for me and just placed me on hold. So Lindsey answers, a a manager and tells me I'm confused about the insufficient funds and says the funds have to be there 5 days prior or they charge me a $25 fee and she can't do anything about it that I should be the one paying attention to my accounts and the funds that are in there. What's not understood is I know the funds should be in there, that's why I have notifications up so when a payment goes through and I don't have funds, I can transfer them. All I wanted was for them to understand and I want my fees reversed because that was never explained to me and this has been 3-4 months now not just once and I'm very upset with the service provided. I've had my membership for like 3 years now and have never experienced this. Below I showed my previous payments and the $65 dollar fee and every fee after that was $50.
Desired outcome: I was all the $25 insufficient funds reversed.
Their payment system seems fraudulent
They refuse any payment unless they can take it straight from yr personal checking or savings account.
*Red flag they collect info to sell.*
Today was payment day so I wired the money to go and pay but there was already a "service fee" additional charge of 21.99.
And they refused to let me pay in person with card that they are charging.
SCAMERS 🤔
Desired outcome: Report to FED's fraudulent activity
There payment system is administered by ABC Fitness which was renamed from ABC Financial effective Aug 2020. ABC Fitness is owned by a $80B hedge fund named Thoma Bravo.
Ongoing charges
I've been trying to cancel my gym membership since last year. I called places and even the one I signed up at. They always redirect me to an automated voicemail which can only "freeze" my account. They froze it for a month then the charges kept going. I don't need to freeze my account, I need it canceled like I wanted to in the beginning. I need the money refunded back into my account.
Desired outcome: Refund and membership cancellation.
Service, fraudulent information so I would sign not knowing
Agree#08007 : I applied for a monthly contract ($10/mo) with option of cancelling at any time. I'm a senior and that's what's affordable for me. On 8/27/21 $64.18 taken out of my bank acct! I called to cancel. Why still pending? You take 64.18 + mo. $! Want 64.18 back and document saying it's been cancelled! I believed that kid and signed. HE WENT AGAINST what I requested. That's fraud! Then he says arrogantly, well, you signed! And, he said, you didn't even use it! OMG I deserve my request being acknowledged or I am taking action with BBB, ACLU as seniors are constantly being taken.
Desired outcome: Want my 64.18 reimbursed to me! And document saying it's cancelled
Fraudulent personal training & overcharging
Last year I signed up for EOS, and of course you know they try to sell you on personal training, so I'm talking to the employee and he told me I needed to sign a waiver to "try out" the Evolt machine for all my stats. I signed, like an idiot, and he signed me up for personal training. I never went to a single training because I was so angry. Of course you can't cancel at all because of this contract but now, after 3 months of telling them I want it cancelled, being told that it IS cancelled, my account is still being charged.
It's predatory, it's disgusting and the EOS brand needs to be investigated.
Desired outcome: Paid back all of the money fraudulently taken from me and the company/employee investigated
Personal trainer contract
My name is John During. I started my membership at the end of July, 2021. The person who signed me up had another guy help hardsale a "personal trainer contract" to me after I had told him several times that I was not interested. I don't need a personal trainer. I'm not new to gym life. The guy told me that it wouldn't hurt to just try it out. I had been sitting in that chair for almost an hour. I finally told the guy that maybe a few sessions wouldn't hurt. They told me that it was like $32 a session and they pull a payment bimonthly. I think that is pretty steep for me, but like I said, I figured I would try it for a month. I told him as much. That I would try it for a month. He said that the gym goes up to 6 months and asked me if I was interested. I told him no. That I would try it for a month and see if I find any use for it at all. He kept trying to hardsale a 6 month contract on me, telling me that I could stop it at any time, but I stuck to what I said. A month or nothing. When signing all the applications, all he said through a few of them was "this is just to acknowledge what we talked about". Shame on me for not enquiring further, or reading the fine print. I didn't even get a copy of the total contract printed out or even emailed to me. Another shame on me. I really didn't think anything of it until my first trainer quit and bailed on me. I went for almost 2 weeks unable to get a valid response as to where my trainer even was. No response on his own line either. So the training stopped but the billing continued. Finally they set me up with a new guy. I had talked to this kid and told him that I wanted to get caught up on my sessions and needed to schedule them for this week. He said that he would have to run it past his supervisor to get it all lined up. I waited for 4 days to hear back after that. Tried calling this new trainer a couple of times, being sent straight to voicemail. Then a third payment of $148 came out of my account. So here I sit with $444 spent and only 5 sessions honored. I went in to tell the local gym that I just wanted to stop any arrangement regarding the trainer, because all I am having is a bad experience with it, and that it is just pushing me out of the gym. I was then told that it probably wouldn't be possible for me to get out of the arrangement, but that he would put in a note to the trainer supervisor my issue and request. I hadn't heard anything more of the matter until email I got today scheduling me for 3 sessions. One of which started 2 minutes after when the emails were sent to me. First of all, that is just poor business in my opinion. It isn't proper to spring a session on someone at the last second. Secondly, this whole ordeal has seriously thrown me off any type of "trainer" situation ever again, to be quite honest. I've pretty much lost money, in my opinion. I am starting to believe that I have been lied to about how these training sessions really are, conned into signing something that was verbally not correct, and stuck in some kind of agreement that the gym itself can't even seem to honor. I love EōS. I really do. The gym is awesome, and I have a lot of really good friends there. I really don't want to cancel or lose my membership. But I can't subject myself to what is going on with this whole personal trainer situation. I want the training sessions completely wiped. I don't want the sessions. I never did want them. I want them cancelled immediately. I'm not asking for any kind of refund on the paid sessions that haven't been honored, although even applying what I have paid towards my monthly membership fees would be nice. Either way, I don't care, as long as I don't have to deal with this personal trainer situation any longer.
Desired outcome: I want released from whatever agreement that is documented regarding the personal trainer that I never even wanted, with no further money being charged to me. While being allowed to remain a member at the gym.
Customer service from the top down
Sales dude from Scottsdale BLvd location offered a promo black membership of $21.99 so I gave him my CC info. 2 mos later I get a late fee of $24.99 on top of the membership being the standard $24.99 (so what promo was the gym even selling). Spoke to one Front End worker who said there was no promo. Then spoke with a GM (Ashton Young) who confirmed there was a promo and who seemed promising. Sent my issue to be reviewed and said we will follow up a week later. It's been a few months now. Not gonna wait anymore.
Luckily the gym is cheap but yeah the incompetence in customer service from the GM to front end is… straight up terrible. The trainers and the programming are terrible too. If you have money for legit training, go else where.
Non-performance of fitness contract
I signed a fitness contract for training three times per week in May 2021. My partner signed a contract for general gym membership. This was at the Pebble Creek complex in Goodyear, Arizona. My fitness trainer showed only two times, notifying me only twice of illness. I showed up at the Club several times wondering what happened to my trainer. The Fitness Manager did not know himself but said he would find me another trainer right away. Except there were no available trainers then, nor were any others made available to me. I went into the club again to talk to the Fitness Manager after he refused to return my phone call. This time, it turns out, he was "absent due to being sick." By this time it was almost the middle of June. The Club knew my purpose was to get into shape for a strenuous vacation coming up at the end of June. Due to non-performance of the contract, an employee of EOS entered a cancellation notice in the EOS system which was promptly denied. He then entered an appeal which was denied on the spot. My partner entered a cancellation notice the same day. Guess what? He was denied as well even though he had no trainer nor had he requested one. When I declined payments, the harassment started. Phone calls every day to both of us. I-messages every day. Collection agencies. The conduct of EOS is shocking. EOS has no breach of contract defense. In Arizona, and every other jurisdiction I'm aware of, substantial non-performance of a contract is an absolute defense to breach of contract claims. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated.
Personal Trainer
I went in to sign up with my sister for a membership. We spoke with the general manager named Leo. He started to say that we needed a personal trainer if we really wanted to get to our goal. We let him know we weren't interested but he was persistent. He got very personal with me and told me that I would have future problems with my relationships because of my body if I didn't get a trainer to fix me. Then he proceeded to state that I would regret it by the time I was 40 years old, fat with high blood pressure and diabetes. It would be too late to change myself. After I continued to say no I let him know we couldn't due to the high price. He stated that if I would stop buying things I shouldn't eat then I can afford the personal trainer. He proceeded by stating that I'm just making excuses and I'm never going to look or feel good about myself if I don't get the trainer. I spent over an hour going back and forth and getting insulted when all I wanted was the membership. This is unacceptable, he does not know me and he made me feel so so ugly because of my body. Yes I am over weight but not obese and for him to push all that on me was not ok. I am never one for confrontation but I never want someone else to feel the way Leo the general manger made me feel. This was a very displeasing and unprofessional meeting.
Scammed and lied to and money stolen
I signed up for a gym membership there and the sales person talked me into a personnel trainer. I was never told about a 6 month contract for personal trainer. When he had me initial he never said it was for a 6 month contract. When I called to cancel I found this out. I told the manager but he called me a liar, even though this happens a lot at every EOS from all the complaints. I never gave the gym my banking information, only my debit card. Which i got a new one because chip was worn. But even with new one they are still taking money out after I told them I wanted to cancel. They are stealing money out of my banking account and I will have to talk to the bank about it. What they are doing is criminal to people and very unethical business practices all around.
Desired outcome: refund all money and cancel membership!!
