Fitness 19 Secane has recently hired a new female trainer and the owner, Nick Jackson, objectifies her constantly on Instagram. Every post is of her breasts or butt square in view. A quick scroll through their page and it is easy to see that she is just being utilized as an object. Nick Jackson follows her around constantly with his camera and it has made women at the gym feel uncomfortable. It is disgusting. Some women have even left the gym because of this. This is on top of the gym falling apart the past couple of months. The benches are torn up, equipment is under repair for months, soap canisters are never refilled and the manager constantly rearranges the gym equipment despite gym members complaints. The past 6 months have been a nightmare and I imagine more and more people will flee this gym. I also imagine more and more women will join other gyms who's managers do not objectify their only female personal trainer on their social media.
failure to cancel membership costing me money
I cancelled my son's membership over a year ago. They stopped billing my card for awhile. Then I noticed they has been billing me for several months again. I told an employee of the club to cancel. He took my information and said he would give it to his manager and they would take care of it. I noticed again I was still getting charged so i called the club. They said I needed to come in. The next day I made a special trip to go in. They said there was no one there to handle cancellations. I tried on 3 more days. in the mean time I have now been charged for several months while trying to fix the problem. I go away a lot for work and for planning my out if town wedding so I've been gone a lot and cannot deal with this. I cannot continue to be charged and continue to waste my time and money.
lack of finding a sub for zumba classes at chino location
I have been going to Fitness 19 Chino ever since they opened in 2012. I joined because they offered zumba classes everyday of the week. When they cancel classes and don't get a sub, it's very disappointing to everyone who was prepared to take that class that day. Management doesn't even let us know if the class has been cancelled or not. Now, they had an instructor give her notice and they haven't gotten a replacement, not even a sub. I know there are subs. I talk to the zumba instructors that ARE there. I, as well as other members, pay for this service. It's the reason why we attend this gym. I understand that there is a hiring process but there are also substitutes out there that would come in and teach. It's happened on more than one occasion. It's very disheartening. I've spoken with management but I feel they are just sloughing me off. I hope this gets to the right people and we can get our zumba classes back that we pay for. Thank you for your time.
took over membership from a closed non-fitness 19 club and did not tell us & charged us
Walked to our old gym to find they closed with no explanation. (Not Fitness 19's fault). However, the closed club sold out memberships to Fitness 19 without my consent. I called Fitness 19 to let them know we had no interest in their gym and they forced us to come in person to cancel a membership which I never gave my consent for or signed up for at a gym I never wanted to join and they charge me for a membership, 1 day after "taking over" our memberships and refused to refund the money. Reported it as a fraudulent charge with my bank.
Spoke with a snot nose kid at the desk who informed us they were just "given" these memberships. News flash Jr... nothing is in business is just given over to someone for free!
How they should have handled this situation was to have us come in on a trail base, check the gym out, work out and see if we like it. If we don't like it within 30 days let us cancel and let that be that. If we like it, keep our membership and now you have happy members.

Employee was very rude when asked for a out of town family member to work out with me. I was embarrassed the way Tony me he didn't care and we would have to leave. I have been paying $42 a month for over 5 years and that's the kind of treatment I received- unbelievable I am looking for a gym now that appreciates my business and treats customers with respect.

At the Mountlake Terrace WA fitness 19 I had called about cancalaton policy and also talked to my trainer and I was told to come in To cancel. When I came in to cancel I was never asked to sign anything and told I'd be charged again one more time. After the first months charge I got charged again a second month. I called them to see what was going on and I was told it hadn't been canceled yet. How can employees of fitness 19 neglect to have me sign the cancellation form? Because of that I lost over $600. I came back in to talk to a manager who said there was nothing they could do about it. The worst customer service I have ever experienced especially since I came into cancel just few months prior. No reimbursement, lieing employees, stealing my money.

Hi I am a fitness 19 member i signed up at the office in highland ca me and my sister signed up using my sisters bank account I recently had surgery and I was told I could put a month on hold from March 15 to April 15 and I would only be charged $5 instead of the $18.99 as long as I came in before March 15 to sign papers which I was fine with so I go in 4 days after surgery and the guy tells me ok we can do that but the payment of $5 won't take effect until April 15 to may 15 my recovery time is only one month so there wouldn't be any point in putting that month on hold why couldn't he tell me this over the phone?! While I was there I decided to switch my membership over to my own bank account the guy said sure we can do that I made sure I asked questions and made sure there wasn't going to be any extra fees he says nope just the $18.99 and that was it. So today is March 14, 2018 and I get i notification that fitness 19 charged me $32.98 I give them a call and they say they are charging me for mine and my sisters membership I ask him to fix it immediately and he says ok but it wont take affect until next month this is not my mistake this is fitness 19 in highland ca and their immature and ignorant staffs fault I've already been through so much this past couple of weeks I don't have time for stupidity. Fitness 19 boss man or whoever you are fix this problem ASAP! And do me a favor from fire the children you have working at your gym in highland ca please & thank you!
manager’s attitude towards to customer
This used to be my favorite workout place. The membership is a good deal but customer service is terrible, especially it's a front manager floyd. He rolled his eyes, raised his voice with strong tone and pointed at me saying very simple words. He is doing that maybe because i'm a female and don't speak well english, trying highlight those simply words for me to understand by doing that. At the time I was so scared and didn't say any word just say ok!. He has a very hot temp, it's not the right attitude for a customer service.
He should go back to school for a basics training to be an employee not a manager. It was a hostage situation so I couldn't say anything at that time and scared to come for a work out in the future.
I'm sure they have a camera around if they want to rewind to see that.

My name is David Pence and my Fitness 19 is Perris and Iris, Moreno Valley, Ca.
I have been a member since September of last year. I have dropped over $900 on personal training since them and am extremely pleased with the results. I have an exceptional trainer and the staff there really go out of the way to make me feel welcome.
It is a newer gym and is very nice clean place to work out. Management has been exceptional, going out of there way to treat me like a VIP.
My problem? The music. And I have complained since day one about it
It's rap. ..the same 40 songs play over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. .
I know every word of every song and I just freaking hate opening the door to your gym knowing that the loud volume of pulsating crap that you have subjected me to that overrides my headphones is going to be injected into my head..I am a country music fan..I have asked for 5 months for this to be corrected to no available. .only because of
my trainer I continued there. I'm and all the employees are just sick to death of this..sick to death.
Second, you have 2 big screens that are out and have been for a few weeks. One of them is Fox news channel which I put on my headphones to drown out the torture I am forced to endure from that FREAKING rap crap.
On top of all this corporate decides to do some capital improvements to my gym when the gym needs to fix the existing problems it has...
This is not a failure of my gyms management..this comes from corporate.
Last week I booked $600 more in training and paid $300 up front with the following $300 to be paid in about a month..and I really need more than that because I have been in and out of the hospital with various surgeries and I use your gym for rehabilitation following those surgeries
...and the reason I have stayed there is because I found a trainer who got me up on my feet..
24 Hour Fitness offered me a free membership to come over there. .

From my experience, all Fitness 19 advertising is nothing but tricks and gimmicks. Hopefully they will realize these practices before it puts them out of business. So said to think the only way to get business or to trick and use gimmicks.

not cancelling my account
My Name is Kimberly Romero, then my maiden name Kimberly Sorian. I signed up with Fitness 19 in 2009 and loved it. Went all the time to my little gym in Rancho Cucamonga site. I moved to Corona in 2013 and started to go to Mira Loma Location right off the 91 Freeway. in 2014 I started my move to Orange County, Ca. I went into the Mira Loma Site in July of 2015 and let them know I would not be needing my membership any longer due to limit locations in Orange County. They said they would "Fax" my request to my original sign up location in Rancho Cucamonga. It never happened. Several calls later of ridiculous excuses and terrible management and customer service in the Rancho Cucamonga location they said MONTHS later they never received my cancellation fax. This is after SEVERAL calls to them and their excuses "we will call you right back" or "WE will process this right away". How ridiculous that I am still fighting this insane, worst customer service I have ever received THREE YEARS LATER. I wrote them ANOTHER letter and they said "they did not receive it" I demanded they stop pulling from my account got another "we will call you right back" I asked to hold and got a "we will call you back because the manager is not in." Now My husband and I are absolutely FURIOUS. Hundreds of dollars wasted on money we do not have as a newly married couple because this company which I one time respected and referred everyone to, can not stop caring about money more then their customers for 1 minute. I wrote ANOTHER letter 01/31/2018 signed it and sent it directly to the location and they are still pulling from me account? This is absolutely unreal. I have worked in customer service for years, I do not complain to companies because I know how difficult it is, and yet here I am realize one of the worst decisions I financially made is signing up for Fitness 19 in 2009. I Beg and Demand to get this cancelled as soon as possible, and to give me back my money you have taken from me with out any consent from me and actually completely opposite of several letters, phone calls with no authorization to pull from my account and to get it completely removed.
I hope you never treat customers this poorly ever again, and no other person has to go through this.

cable television channels
I have been a member of Fitness 19 San Ramon for 12 years. Since I joined, the club continuously features Fox News on the main television centered in front of the cardio area. Despite many requests by myself and others, the Club refuses to just show local news and no cable news channels, all of which are politically biased in one way or the other.
Other health clubs have moved to just show local news on the basis that cable news is incompatible with a relaxing and healthy atmosphere in a fitness club.
It appears that Fitness 19 values the political leanings of certain clients above and beyond those of us who just want to come to the gym, workout, and not have to look at inflammatory and biased news from both sides.
I doubt I will renew my membership when the time comes (and I will encourage others to do so).
annual charge and charges when I put the membership on hold
Hi my name is Osmin Bonilla the member ship is under my Wife Ambar Bonilla. Back and early October I ask to put our membership on hold but only one was put I hold but I had requested to both be out on hold. We have relocated and in our new apt the closest Fitness gym is 12 miles away. So I requested to cancel the service last month. I was told I would be charge one more month to which I agree but I was also charge the anual fee of $58 for this next year which I don't agree. Yesterday 02/15 I called the gym on highland California were I open the membership ask to speak with a supervisor I was told he or she was not available but I would get a phone call back, but I never did. I would like to get reimbursed for the fees of one of the member ship it was not out on hold for 3 months and the annual fees since I had requested service to be cancel.

So ive been a member of fitness 19 for almost a year now. I currently stay in Rancho Ca. area. What I didnt know is that I could not go into the Riverside gym because its a different franchise! What kind of [censor] is that? I pay for a multi purpose gym and kids club and to be hassled about having singed up in the Rancho area is ridiculous. Thats like signing up for a costco card in Fontana Ca. but being denied to enter a facility in Pomona Ca. because I didnt get there membership in that city! I think you guys should be a little more direct with what your "BS" multi gym membership includes. Not only that The manager Tony over at the Riverside location tried to charge me an additional fee for my son even though I already pay for him monthly!
Desirable resolution: Refund me my money back for the past year for being such a close minded franchise business and only allowing certain people in the area access to the gym. Ridiculous

You have to write them a letter telling them you want to end your membership. They also claim you can email them but I have not found an email address for them. Just snail mail them.

I have been a member at Fitness 19 in Elkins Park, PA since August of this year. In that time, I have seen members verbally abuse women, employees discriminated against because of age or disability and a trainer, Scorpio, threaten to 'take another trainer out" because she used his real name, Stephen, and not his pseudonym.
Each of these offenses is illegal under EEOC and ADA and terroristic threats are a prosecutable crime. The manager has been informed of these incidents and has done nothing or excuses the harassment of women as "oh, that person is just a misogynist."
At a minimum, EEOC regulations should be posted in full view as well as contact information for the owner. Needless to say, I am leaving this gym and will highly recommend the other (especially women) do the same.

I felt that I was in justly accused and harassed by price in Patterson and his coworker Grady. Are you still in Patterson we're coming to work all the people working out there take off to get coffee smoke weed in his car and come back to work not just saying anything that the mean a person you can drug test everyone there find out for yourself what kind of exercise guy gets high and then comes back. I work hard and they gave me no choice but to quit not even a phone call. I love Fitness 19 I think it's one of the greatest gyms I've ever worked out I've lost over 70 pounds working at Fitness 19 and in great shape and no more diabetes I tried to become a trainer but they never gave me the opportunity instead they hire someone with no experience that just worked out at the gym.
I Ernest Whitlock was a cleaner there for 2 years. I started just clean but my bosses Bryson Paterson and he's boy grady added replacing toliet, fixing machines and painting inside of gym and changing light bulbs and cleaning on top of that. also ordering suplies. I got great customer reviews on face book and a raise and a bonus. One day working grade pulled me in front of clients and told me I was doing a shiny job and they would replace me. so I handed them my shirt and quiet. I felt they both have been harassing me. cancelled membership in september, still being charged
Hi, my name is Long Dao. In September, I cancelled my membership at the Concord site. I had previously come from the San Jose site (on Story Road), and the Concord site told me the last time I would be charged would be in November, as it was between months. I was fine with this.
December passed, and I was charged for the monthly, as well as the yearly. I called the Concord site and they said it would be taken care of. Then I was told they were not charging me, but the San Jose store was. I called the San Jose store who told me to write a letter to them requesting to cancel, or show up in person to cancel. When I showed up, I was told my contract was terminated years ago.
At this point, I have no idea when I will be charged for the final time. The amount of time I have to spend calling around, and speaking to multiple people telling me different stories each time is ridiculous. I have documentation of every transaction, and would just like my membership canceled, to not be charged further, and to be refunded for everything beyond the November charge I agreed to.

tried to cancel, got triple-billed
I went in November to cancel my membership to Fitness 19 because my family had already gotten a YMCA family membership down the road many months ago and I'd stopped going to the Fitness 19 (giving them free money for months). The person who helped me was very friendly and seemingly helpful. I was told I would get one more charge. I wasn't super happy about that, but I felt at least it was going to stop. So I agreed and was told that it would be cancelled and I had until December 15 to use the club. Today I checked my bank account and have two new charges from Fitness 19, one for $20, my regular monthly payment, and another for $41, which I have no idea what is. So $60 to cancel a $20 membership that I was already not using? Now I must spend more of my time to try and correct this situation, because there's no way I'm giving them another cent now, even if I have to spend money to sue them. By the way, it should tell you something that their own website has no way to contact someone to express complaints about their service. My recommendation is to avoid this company like the plague.
