Florida Power & Light [FPL] billing

Fpl turned my power off due to a dispute about an old bill from an address that i supposedly lived at for 24 hours back in 2008.
The problem is, there customer service sucks.
Got an extention on paying the past bill, but had some payroll issues with my job.
Tried calling them to work it out and kept getting told no to talking to a representative.
When i finally do speak to a real person, was told theres nothing we can do its pay the bill of get shut off.
Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no and that theres nothing he could do.
Now its going to be a cold night and rainy, have my wife at the house sitting in the dark with my dogs, ho heat, no ac and going to loose all the food in my fridge and freezer.
Nice way to have compassion and help your customers..
Refuse to work a solution and help,
Nope, tell me im done shut off my power and thats that.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] new tenant and disabled with child won't turn on power 42* winter time

Yes I'm in a wheelchair and have a 8yr old child. I moved into my new place and when I call to turn on power fpl sends me to another service saying investigation services. While I speak to them they want to speak to owner whom called them. The owner calls me back saying go ahead call fpl back. I do department is closed, I ask to speak to a supervisor who then tells me I have to wait while disabled and my 8yr old spends another freezing night with only candles. Due to county won't allow generator after 8pm at night. It's going to be 42 degrees and all I get is I'm sorry call back when department is open. Thanks while my child already has a cold and I've paid 3700 to move in and we're now stuck until 5am freezing!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] billing

Who do I contact to complain about the billing service with your company. In other words who is regulating your company and what state or federal agency can I contact for help.

I own a building and have for years been billed and paid my bill on time account number [protected]. One of my tenants moved out and I had to turn the electric on in unit B so we could repair damage. I wanted it added to my bill but they wanted to charge me a deposit. I referenced that I also own Lane Insurance, Inc. that rents unit A and I should not have to pay a deposit. Somehow the bill gets put in the name of my company. I wanted it corrected to the account above and they want to charge me. Total [censored]. I want to know who to contact per above.

I'm sick and tired of seeing FP&L annoying and REPETITIVE TV Ads on South Florida Local TV Stations. This has been going on for years. FP&L has NO competitor in this market (Dade, Broward & Palm Beach Counties) and is the only provider of electricity, so what's the point of spending money on TV Ads. This is ridiculous and frankly a waste of money. If...

Florida Power & Light [FPL] high bills

I am also experiencing very high FPL bills, and to make matters worse, they are requiring me to pay more towards which covers two months of electrical usage, which I have already payed based on the amount of electrical usage they said I using at that time.

I have always felt that a company who is a monopoly can, to a certain degree, do what they what to and answers only to certain people. That is why we have laws.

We all need to come together and start a "Class Action Lawsuit" against FPL.
If you are interested in starting a "Class Action lawsuit" email me at: [protected]@gmail.com and let us see about getting someone to represent us.

There is obviously something foul going on behind closed doors. We need to demand what it is using our legal system.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] deposit charge

My late fathers name was in the bill. I have to close that account and open a new one in my name. I am being charged a deposit fee of $330.00. They say that amount is based on my credit score. I have a credit score of 780.
To be charged a deposit for doing little to nothing is robbery. I am retired and on a limited budget.
This is wrong. I have paid on time. We have been a customer at this address for over 60 years always paying on time.
Totally disgusted with customer service and more so with FPL.
The closed account bill, deposit and new electric charges I will have to pay over a $1000.00.
I don't make a million a year plus receive a bonus on top like the CEO.
Having to make a deposit is just wrong

Fpl budgeting is a joke! when we first bought this home 4 years ago, the highest bill in the summer (june, july, august) fpl time was about $200, with the remainder of the months between $100 and $150. the last 2 years bills have sky rocketed forcing us to do the budget. as we dive more into what is drawing what power, conclusion was the air conditioning was running too much. air condition unit and, windows and doors were originals from home built in 2004. so, made investment to put in all new windows and doors in february 2019, and a new air condition unit with all new hvac in roof beginning of may 2019. oh yeah, and temp used to be kept at 68 degrees, but with new air condition unit are able to keep it at 73 degrees (does not run even close as long as old unit and home is cool). just received bill... and it is $254 (actual usage $221). how is that even remotely possible?! lat month (april) fpl bill said actual usage was $171. are you freaking kidding me?! I am sorry, you keep your head down, work your [censored] off, do what is right, and the utlities are able to screw you?! with the way every thing ends up in court, how is it that fpl is not in court having to pay their customers for the, won't even say unfair, criminal extorsion of their customers?! does anyone know of a class action lawsuit going on or being pursued against fpl? we keep all e-mails, receipts (paper and electronic) and have a paper trail of this activity. anyone interested in fighting back against this corruption, I am in. text me [protected] and let me know this is the topic (I don't answer phone if name is not associated with the number).

Florida Power & Light [FPL] new customer service request and deposit refund then increased

A couple of weeks ago I received on my email that a new customer requested service at my address (which wasn't true), FPL proceeded to close my account, made changes on phone numbers on account without authorization, I called and confirmed with them that no one was requesting a new service at my address. They told me to not to pay attention to those messages, reopen my account, I corrected the phone numbers on my account and though that was the end of it. To my surprise, the next day they send same message, reclosed my account, refunded the $401 deposit after charging for the running cycle. Then they are asking for a $556 deposit with no explanation.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] my electric bill

my bill has went up about $ 10.00 a month, the last few months.
Reps blame it on budget billing. Budget billing does nt save money.

Higer and higher bills, and with poor customer service. Very har to navigate the
phone system to get to a rep.

Blamming the summer heat on higher b ills, is a poor excuse to over charging customers.

My bills are way to high, and energy survays have found no issue causing higher bills!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] damaged to my refrigerator

My control board was damaged due to the surge and extreme rudeness on the part of YOUR claim agent who refused to accept my completed claim form and invoices submitted in accordance and following the advise given directly form FPL upon my power outage !

This is unfair and unacceptable as I have done everything to protect my home and appliances, how much more damage will FPL cause and refuse to compensate cannot afford future losses and lack of attention due to your failure @!

Please reimburse my invoices and loss.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] recent and almost daily and nightly recurring outages.

Recently, even under normal atmospheric conditions, the condo where I live, suffered frequent outages during the 24 hours cycle. It seems that FPL is not able to fix these frequent problems to its main line which, as for the FPL information system affects little more than 1200 customer. This continuous disservice generates damages and frustration. How long will it take to permanently fix these outages?

We have the same problem and this has been going on for years. Sometimes the power will go off 7 or 8 times in a row which is terrible on appliances and other household items. I have talked with people who live in our community and they have lost freezers and other things due to this issue. Not sure who to directly complain to, that would actually help out in this matter.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] billing and payments/ dixie court apartments

Incident date: 10/15/18
Account number: [protected]
Business name: Dixie Court Apartments
We are a property with over 14 buildings and over 800 residents. We have paid both our August and September bill. However someone on FPL staff did not appropriate the funds to the correct accounts and as a result it flagged our office for nonpayment and disconnection. FPL's resolution was to refund us back for 2 months in the amount of $4419.53 (which has not yet been received) and demand that we make a payment today in the amount of $1748.25 in cash or they will disconnect the business and inconvenience hundreds of tenants. This is absurd and extremely unprofessional on FPL's behalf that our business has to suffer for FPL's negligence. If we are disconnected you will potentially have homeless people as we have applicants in need of somewhere to stay. This is a formal complaint. We need someone to contact us as soon as possible with a better resolution. The person (s0 responsible for this error needs to be fired.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] customer service is inept

One of our accounts has a demand meter and I called to find out how it works and why the electric bills are as high as they are. I was transferred to 4 departments and no one could help me with a simple explananation! Each time, I gave the account #, verified the account and was told the rep had to transfer me.

Very disappointing and inept service!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] illegal connection

Last fall new meters were install in our mobile home park, upon arrival from home in Pittsbugh10/2/18 our service was limited to half of the outlets, all 220 appliances no power. Called customer service, sent out a truck at 9PM but stated the locked fpl box was working properly. Called back next day 10/3/18 after tracing our line from outside box inside panel. The ground wire on fpl coming from lock box was 18" of copper wire, the ground wire from our panel inside was aluminum wire.
Work done by outside contractor, McGuire Elec. in May of 2017.
I the 17 months since work was done the spliced copper/aluminum site has dissolved. Causing this problem, since several contractors have notice this illegal connection, I would have expected a reputal company such as fpl to admit their mistake. But all efforts on our part to get fpl to fix it have been refused.
Now out mobile home association will be contacting subcontractor for repair and you will receive a bill or small court claim.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] fpl service

I have been unable to log into my account to pay my bill, month after month. Every time, I have to end up paying the bill after it's already late and disconnected because I do not get a notice, and I have to spend up to an hour on the phone, after which I am finally able to pay my bill and get my power back on, after paying the extra $30 or so dollars for the late fee -- every time.

Every time I try to talk to someone, my issue with my account never gets resolved, and I just get tossed over to more automated message loops that go nowhere. I know my complaint will fall on deaf ears, as it is clear that FPL do not care about their customers, but I cannot stress how incredibly frustrating it is to deal with them.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] fpl

FPL is one of the only electric companies in Florida and because of that this organization likes taking advantage of people. Over charge on everything and give a fee for every single thing. Like for example a customer charge, gross receipts tax, and a friggin franchise charge. What the hell is the meaning of all these extra fees. You best believe as soon as another electric company begins their business I will be switching electric companies so damn quick. You con artists.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] electricity

Having paid the balance in full, all of a sudden It seems that my account has been closed. I've been paying on time my bills, just got back from overseas to realize that I don't have power. There was a balance that has been paid in full, and yet I don't have power. It seems that there is no way to contact some one at FPL to reconnect my power. I've trying through FPL App, via phone, even in the web, but there is no option to talk to some one at FPL about why don't you reconnect my power as I have paid my bill as always.
