Unemployment Insurance - Can't get status of my claim online or reach customer service rep
I filed a claim for unemployment on March 2, 2021. All I have is a confirmation # from when I filed online. Its now April 19, 2021 and I have yet to be able to get onto the portal to claim my weekly payments or to get any status online. It does not recognize my SS# at all - so maybe my claim has not been processed at all or lost? I have called and left messages and emailed numerous times without any replies. I try all day long to get through to the UI customer service # with no luck. This is totally unacceptable and I am at wits end. How do I get someone to tell me the status of my claim and when I can expect to receive my benefits? I have other colleagues that were laid off at the same time who live in different states that have been receiving their UI payments for weeks. Why is the GA unemployment process much worse than other states? Please help.
my UI payments/ no one will return my calls
I applied for UI back in February.
I have not received a payment at all. I cannot get anyone to return any of my phone calls. I have left numerous voice mails.
I had some savings but it has ran out. I can no longer pay my bills
Can some one please help me?
my phone # is [protected]
My name is Ronald Daniel Holton my SSN is [protected].
Thank you.
Desired outcome: receive my UI benefits
Unemployment Insurance payment
As of this date April 16, 2021 I have been waiting for a full YEAR for the Ga Dol to address my unemployment insurance claim. We have called hundreds of times and sent dozens of e-mails with no resolution or response. We filed 2 complaint with the Governor's office, still no response. I am now back working but was unemployed for 5 months without a penny from the state of federal government. We exhausted our savings and came close to foreclosure due to the GA DOL incompetence. We need a phone call to fix this but NO ONE has given is the time of day from the DOL. They owe us back pay and we intend to pursue it until it is rectified.
Desired outcome: Back pay for monies owed
Payments not received
I was unemployed due to COVID-19 in March of last year. As of 3/14/21 my claim ended. Despite the extension of unemployment benefits by the federal government, we are forced to reapply for UI even though nothing has changed since I applied this time last year. I am still unemployed! I reapplied the day I was supposed to and I am now going on 4 weeks of no payments. I know there are many others in my position, but as someone who already lived paycheck to paycheck, this is unacceptable. There is no reason there should be such a delay in receiving payments. GDOL does not show any empathy for the citizens in this unfortunate situation. I have tried contacting someone at GDOL in multiple forms but I can never speak to a human and my emails/voicemails go unreturned each time.
Desired outcome: Backpay and resume future payments
Not sure what race you are but if your white that’s why you haven’t been getting any help. I have a lady that works for dol recorded saying they’re being told to push through black applicants but deny or just don’t do anything for white applicants. Mines still pending also for weeks now after they made me lose a good job I made $500 to $600 a week in tips they play this racial crap. My sisters a lot better off then me. Once I’ve got everything in order I have proof. I’m filing lawsuit.
I feel if your white your claims being over looked or denied. I’m sick of this racial crap myself, I know a lady that her sister in law works there abs told her they are pushing through black applicants while denying white claims. Once I’m back on my feet. I intend to put a lawsuit. I have all my paperwork and there’s no reason my page should still say pending, I live in a predominantly black neighborhood, blacks that didn’t even have a job before pandemic are having no trouble getting approved. I’ve always waited tables, raised 4 kids doing it because I’m good at it but my age makes it hard to get hired. My old job doesn’t have enough business. Whites are being denied. That’s discrimination and it’s time to fight back! You forced my job to close the doors so approve my unemployment until I find another job.
Unprofessional and very rude
I work for the school system so we closed for covid for a period of time. Then my daughter whom just had a kidney transplant got covid so I am taking care of her which she lives in Jacksonville. I have been going back and forth staying with r weeks at a time.
They stopped my check back in Oct/2020 stating I quit my job due to not having a babysitter. I have no idea where they got that all my kids are grown. Since then I have been giving the run around and no one has done anything to help.
As my daughter was getting over covid she had to have a nephrectomy. So it has been one thing after another with her. As soon as she gets better and can take care of her self I can and will return to work. But as of now I have good cause not to. if you will notice in the pictures I sent. She has the dates wrong and gave me a day to reply.
Desired outcome: I want my unemployment
If your white they’re not going to “have time” to get to your case if it’s legit and if anyway they can they’ll deny you. It’s obvious. Every whites person I know has been cut off while every black personality never even had gaps in payments. I’m in a very diverse family so I know and am kin to both races. Whites are being discriminated against!
Pua
>> I had been getting pua also
>> But when caa was approved I received 2 payments in late January 2021
>> February 3rd 2021 I attempted to log into myui and was informed my account had
been locked and prompted to verify with I'd.me
>> Which I did same morning (within minutes) of 2-3-2021
I have received 0 regular mail, email nor phone calls before or after my
verifying with Id.me
I have tried calling, left voicemail
Sent email and tried contacting my local Thomasville ga center with 0 responses
from any way of communication.
I've had several emails with I'd.me 1 to say that, yes, I was verified and that
gdol had access to see that I was verified and 2 that there was nothing more they
"could do." That I needed to contact gdol and they couldn't understand Why gdol
had not responded within 3 days.
I have continued to certify and it has actually been 7 weeks of Nothing from gdol.
I can't even download the tax form because I don't have access to myui
It is now 4-7-21
Desired outcome: Verification code
Can't log into portal, no one returns calls, or emails
I recently received an email from GA dol reading that I needed to verify my identity through ID.me. Once I'd done this I went to log into the portal, which I'd never had an issue logging in with before. I was not allowed access to the portal, it then read that I would have to renew my pin. I went through all of the steps, it asked for a verification code. I've not received any verification code from anywhere. I woke up early in the morning to call the customer service line, which was busy at exactly 8 a.m., the time of opening. I literally called the WHOLE day until 5 p.m. I've called several different numbers, I've emailed several different employees directly, I've left voice messages, and NOT ONE person has gotten back to me. I have not been able to file for my benefits for this reason. It really almost seems as though no one here cares about dong their job. It's frustrating. The least they can do is return a phone call. At least someone.
Desired outcome: I want to speak with someone so that I can feed myself, and pay my rent until I find another job
I agree abdur same with my complaint
My name is jeremie Willingham.. my bye date was 3/13 I reapplied 3/14 I haven't received any updates on my portal please help.. my
I need a response to this I reapplied on 3/14 and nothing was changed I am still out of work due to covid 19.. my job laid me and everyone off in March of last year and I worked for a hotel .. I am asking for information on why my portal hasn't updated I don't understand why we have to reapply and nothing happens after that I have got the emails
Unemployment
My name is Nicoria Leaks. I have been waiting to receive benefits since the first of January. I was denied without even been reached out to. Once I reached out to the person on my case (Robin Smith) and told her my reasons were due to covid I was approved. Never received a payment called her back everyday since January 26. Reached out to several emails never gotten any help. I am assuming she's a worker in the Griffin location. This is very devastating overall. It is now almost April what shall I expect ?
Desired outcome: Payment released
Timeliness, Process, Payouts
After being forced to resign, due to Fulton County Schools mandating educators to teach virtually from the building, I applied for UI in October. After months, I was contacted on 3/23/21, and they denied me on 3/26/21! Now, I have to appeal their decision and apply for PUA - considering I've already waited 6 months, I'll have to wait another 6 months and figure out how to take care of my family in the meantime!
Desired outcome: Payout, Expedited Processing
Unemployment appeals
My claim has been in since October. I was denied by a worker who just wanted to close my request. My previous job due to COVID was unable to pay us and eventually everyone left. I told the agent I worked until they missed three checks and my last day was October 25, 2020. All she heard was I worked and closed my request as I was still working when I was not! I filed an appeal and have heard nothing back! I've sent emails, left messages etc nobody will contact me. I've worked for years and I cannot get access to a benefit I pay into... but. People can scam etc and y'all will pay them out without all the extra stuff.

Desired outcome: Call back
Claims review
My company I worked at for almost 8 years filed on my behalf in April of 2020. I received 4 weeks of UI. In May I went on FMLA for neck surgery. Released on light duty to return to work in July. Company would not allow me to return until fully released from dr. Company then terminated me in November. They would not convert my GDOL account so I could claim my weeks. I was told to file a new claim which I did beginning of December 2020. Since then all I have had is a fact finder call me to verify my reason for separation and get my reasonings for filing. I submitted my separation notice and even submitted the release from the doctor for light duty. My portal still says pending determination and has since December. Thankfully my husband works and has been able to keep us barely afloat while I search for a job that will not be so physically demanding on my neck surgeries. So many are getting approved before me that filed after me. Regular UI has been pushed off to the side and most covid related claims are getting approved within weeks. Definitely doesn't seem right!
5 months still nothing
I filed for unemployment back November 2020, due to having covid my self! Each employee was sent different papers to be filled out by the company, they put due to covid all over them! I have now ( in March) been laid off due to covid and lack of residents at work, and have still not been paid for either claims! Sent so many emails keep being told I have to have my case looked at and finally got told may 21! That's crazy! If I was still claiming from November I would be homeless by now! If they are so behind why not employee some of us that don't have a job to help get caught up! No one answers phones, wait an hour and half for someone and the line hangs up on you daily! It's sad! Very sad! No one helps!
Desired outcome: Case to be processed and receive payments
Those are eligible benefits. If we don't get them. Who gets them. Those benefits are credits.
Regular Unemployment portals not updated
I have been receiving all my payments, and my bye isnt until nov of this year. For some reason several people on ui isn't showing a updated portal and is saying its been processed and check status of unemployment claim. To keep your lines from being busy can someone please answer so I can relay the message on. I understand you're very busy, is this happening to everyone, is this due to the holiday or a possible malfunction in the system. Why are other programs receiving updated portals but we arent.
Thanks so much for your time
Desired outcome: Please let me know as soon as you can
Pua denial and pua appeal
I filed an appeal at the end of last July and I have not heard anything from anybody. I've sent emails to dol workers the supervised of appeals and someone else who works with appeals and still have not heard anything. I've lost everything I had and have gotten no help whatsoever. I was sent a letter stating they needed proof of income from January 1, 2019 thru December 31, 2019 so I sent what they asked for in. Then I got a letter of denial saying my last day of work was before the pandemic started. They asked for specific dates. I had my proof for 2020 and I sent it in after I filed an appeal still have not talked to anyone and can't get in touch with anybody. I still have my email where they asked for specific dates
Desired outcome: I would like to get my appeal
UI
They are extremely slow at processing unemployment claims, even with COVID leniency. They deny claims without reviewing requested documentation, on the same date that additional documentation is requested. Then to appeal a denial it could take up to 9 months before you even have a date with the appeals board. And absolutely forget getting in contact with anyone. Gross negligence on the DOL's behalf.
Desired outcome: Appeal and payment
Yes absolutely correct
Unemployment
After a month's long wait to get my PUA started I know have to refile for benefits along with 10's of thousands of people which is going to yet again back up the system. My bills don't stop yet I am about to be without money for who knows how long due to the replication process. It's not right because ALL other states have suspended this need due to the number of people on UI at the time. I have a special needs daughter who cannot attend face to face school at this time due to her risk of Covid. I personally have gotten my 1st vaccination and have the other scheduled for April. But she is only 8 and cannot be vaccinated and even when she can she still can't have it because she has an egg allergy and that means no flu type vaccinations are allowed. I would love to be working in my career field which is Certified ophthalmology assistant. I cannot risk even a part time job due to the chances of her being exposed and I do not have child care for her if I did work because she I 8 so she cannot go to day care and my parents are also highl risk so they can't watch her due to their health and the risk of their exposure. This whole situation with GA DOL is so upsetting because you can't get help or answers to questions at all.
Desired outcome: Fix the reapply system
Regular Unemployment Insurance Inaction Since June 19, 2020
Discharged from my job as Manufacturing Engineer on June 19, 2020, after 6.5 years of continuous employment there. Immediately filed for U.I.. HR provided letter to DOL that they did not intend to contest my UI application. Denied in September. Immediately filed an appeal. No action on appeal since filed. State Representative Matthew Gambill was contacted and he contacted GDOL on my behalf, last week (MAR 2021) with no results.

Desired outcome: UI Approved
Unemployment
I was denied regular UI and PUA. I left due to COVID, provided documentation and was still denied. I've been waiting since September 2019. My son has a weak immune system, schools closed and someone else in my household contracted COVID. This is ridiculous that people who really need and qualify the funds are waiting upwards of 6 months only to be denied.
Desired outcome: Approval.
No undates
Have been wait to here from these people since early January have made several attempts to call left many message no return call or email I know that it's many people they have to come contact with but they can't possible be that busy not to reach at least once a day also they haven't sent me any approval letters so I don't am I editable are not almost 3 months without any explanation of why is take so long.
