PUA Appeal
I was awarded PUA, but the amount was wrong (awarded $149, based on income should have been $365). I appealed in May of 2020. I have never received ANY response whatsoever about my appeal. I have sent numerous emails (which they receive, as I receive an email saying so), made numerous phone calls and have never spoken to a human, and have only recently been able to leave a message. They do not return calls. While I am grateful for the compensation I did receive, I am owed quite a bit of money based on what my benefit SHOULD have been according to the Ga Department of Labor's own web site. Proof of income WAS submitted (copy enclosed). Any help in getting my appeal processed and back pay provided would be very greatly appreciated.
Desired outcome: Payment of back pay owed between amount awarded and amount qualified for.
I haven't receive my unemployment benefits
My name is Alfreeon Powell I reapplied in March of 2021, for the by end year date. I did ID me because I was told that it was a fraudulent activities taking place within the GDOL system. I have been certifying through olivor and I spoke to a live representative which verified who I was, she told me that my portal would change within 48hours and she was sending the updated information to the processing department. I've uploaded my resume and started my search for new jobs to reinstate my claim still nothing. I haven't receive nothing but a letter stating my new by end date and that was in April. Can someone please help me because my bill are are getting further and further behind. My phone number is [protected] where I can be reached, and my email is alfreeon.[protected]@gmail.com
Unemployment benefits
I applied for unemployment benefits in Feb. of 2021. Received a letter my claim had been filed with an estimation of benefits. I heard nothing for months. Repeated calls, voicemails, emails went unanswered, unreturned, not even acknowledged. In May I spoke to someone said my claim was still pending, keep filing weekly and I would be contacted. I never was. I received a letter on June 3, 2021 that my claim was denied.(Acct # [protected]) The reason was based on incorrect information. I filed an appeal via email on June 3, 2021. (Appeal confirmation #362672) I to this date, June 30, 2021, I have heard nothing from anyone regarding my status.
I understand they have been incredibly busy but I do feel this truly is unacceptable not to mention so very scary and frustrating. I would greatly appreciate any help your office might be able to provide.

Desired outcome: Overturn the decision based on my appeal and payment of past benefits.
Georgia Unemployment
I file a year ago for unemployment. It's over a year. First I got a letter stating how much I will receive and then I heard nothing else, I keep checking the website and it says still pending determination?
I have wrote everyone from the mayor to our senators and nothing?, no communication whatsoever. I found a job two months later but I never got paid for the time that I was out of a job. This seems unfair
Desired outcome: I want my weeks of benefits paid ASAP
Same boat my claim goes back to 10/2020. What is the outcome of your situation?
Slow unemployment claim payment
I have been waiting for unemployment claim to be paid for 9 weeks. I was told three times that my Id verification had not gone through from the verification bureau to the labor dept. Finally a representative from the DOL helped me resolve the issue but now I am told it is taking at least 21 days and likely longer for the claims to be processed. This will likely result in the claim going unpaid for 3 months or longer. This has created extreme economic hardships for my family. Please advise what can be done to expedite payment.
Thank you.

Not receiving weekly unemployment payments
Collecting the PUA unemployment up until April 2021. Got a new letter
that stated additional weeks were added to my claim, but stopped receiving
payments even though summitting weekly claim since April.
Service/Unemployment Claims
For approximately almost three months I have been attempting to resolve my PUA claim and receive benefits.
1) On 3/28, I received a letter from the Dept of Labor telling me my PUA claim was in in process, and I should be receiving direct deposit after doing weekly PUA starting 4/1/2021.
I was unable to submit work search because the system does not accept them under the PUA program. See the (ATTACHED) screen shot I took a few days ago. No notifications have been sent saying it is now accepting the work search forms.
I called the Dept of Labor customer service a couple of days after receiving this letter to confirm and had a couple of questions. The service representative said all I needed to do was simply complete the weekly online filing form and within a couple of weeks I would receive benefits.
I have double and triple checked my direct deposit and withholding information for accuracy.
2) 4/3, I received confirmation my claim was in process.
3) 5/14, I received redetermination confirming my PUA assistance period 2/20/2020 to 9/4/2021 and, the dollar amount. I was eligible under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 with additional PUA weeks.
As of today 6/25/2021, I have yet to receive benefits in accordance with the 5/14 redetermination letter. The eligible weeks I have filed for, still awaiting benefits, and received system PUA confirmations are weeks ending:

Desired outcome: Hopefully get my payments
Claim not processed yet, so payments haven't been received.
I'm hoping for assistance in collecting my unemployment benefits. My last day of work was 4/20/2021 and I haven't received a payment yet. I've received my Benefit Determination letter which says my claim begins on 5/30/2021, I've submitted the last 3 weeks and still no payment. (Although I calculated that my claim should have started on 5/15/2021, I'll just be happy it starts at all so I'm not going to appeal the start date.)
I've spent hours redialing, sometimes from 2 phones, every day of the week. Tried calling my local office. Tried making an online appointment. Sent numerous emails, including to the Labor Commissioner, Mark Butler. Today I sent an email to Steven Sainz.
I need my weekly claims paid so I can:
-pay my car payment to get to a job
-put fuel in car and pay insurance
-Pay other bills and buy food to live
-Pay phone bill to keep up this madness of hoping my call will get answered
Patient? I've been more than patient.
Is there anything your office can do to help me?
Thank you,
Kimberly
Desired outcome: Receive benefit payments
Unemployment
Going on 4 WEEKS ...want to file a Interstate Claim and NO ONE answers emails, phones or mail. I try all day, Monday through Friday to attempt to get through on the phones at all times of day...rings busy.
I have sent 14 emails asking for someone to tell me where I can get the form...I can file myself, but there is NO INFORMATION or HELP anywhere that I can find to complete the task.
It is so sad that they REFUSE to help people, provide answers and now cutting funds off while people are still in need.
Shame on the State of Georgia...glad they are getting paid and can provide for their families, but yet I can not get ANYONE to respond to so many emails, phone calls, letters.
Desired outcome: CALL ME OR RESPOND TO ME WITH THE HELP I NEED
Unemployment claims online don't seem to work
I was laid off (no fault of my own, with no prior warning) due to lack of work on May 19th. My family health insurance plan ended immediately, and I was supposed to be paid for only half of my accrued PTO (is that legal?).
I filed for unemployment twice before I got any email feedback. I believe I completed everything correctly on the GA DOL and employGA websites. But the GA DOL websites do not work correctly, and all the calls I've make to their phone numbers are never returned. I cannot get any verification if I'm even going to receive any unemployment compensation, or if I've filled something out wrong. The Norcross and Gwinnett offices (nearest ones to me) are closed, and I called the numbers on their doors. Never returned.
It's been over a month now without any unemployment or insurance, and we're running out of money! Please help!
Thank you
Desired outcome: A good job! But Unemployment until then.
im surprised you got paid for any of your PTO. If there wasnt some kind of stipulation in your agreement when you got the job then technically they dont have to give you anything due to GA having basically no labor laws to protect workers its what they call an "At will" state so basically an employer can get rid of you with no reason and not give you anything and there is nothing you can do about it. If you've only been waiting for a month I hate to tell you that youve got a long way to go. I've been waiting almost 5 months now. After 9 emails, reaching out to our state reps, etc I finally got a call from someone at the GDOL only to tell me that they work the claims in the order they came in. So if you just did yours a month ago you probably have a million people getting their claims worked before yours. I have a friend that filed in Jan. and just received his a week ago. So it basically took him half a year to receive his UI benefits. I dont want to sound negative but there is literally nothing you can do about it. You wont ever get in contact with them nor will any of your government officials help you. Youre at their mercy basically and you better hope to god for whatever reason they dont try to deny you and you have to file an appeal or youll be waiting another 6 months for them to process that. Just remember who you vote for next time and get this people out. Our GDOL blames the pandemic but I assure you they were this bad before the pandemic. Ive had to file UI one other time and me life which was years ago before the pandemic and it still took them 4 months. Its absolutely ridiculous, I hate it for you but trust me youre not the only one...ive read some people who have been waiting on theres since last august.
SERVICE from DOL and id.me
They have contracted with id.me and the whole process has been arduous and ineffective. They already have my id and this has caused delays and I don't have the funds that have been set aside for me and are pending. Finally after 3 months I get a hold of Id.me and now the dol has to request id.me to send my verification etc. The DOL website gives no prompts as I am told should happen by id.me. And of Course when calling NO ONE PICKS UP OR CALLS BACK and HAVEN'T for MONTHS... This is RIDICULOUS. GET WITH IT!
Desired outcome: Stop delaying and implementing inefectual perameters and get the JOB DONE!

An appeal
I applied for unemployment benefits back in October 2020. My case was denied in February 2021, I never received a notice. By chance I saw the decision online, I filed an appeal, didn't hear anything a few months later I filed another appeal. Still nothing. I contacted my congressman, a few weeks later an unemployment agent called and said not to file anymore appeals or my case would be delayed. I have also contacted my state representative, they sent over a spreadsheet twice on my behalf. I still haven't heard anything. I continued to certify. May 1, 2021, I tried to certify, it said that I was not authorized to do so. I don't know what happened with my appeal, but I was not afforded my rights to a fair appeal process. I have documents that I wanted to submit. I NEED HELP! Please I don't know what else to do.
Desired outcome: I want to have my appeal process
yea I also contacted our state rep and he sent over my stuff to his contact over a month ago. Im going on 5 months with a pending claim. Basically no one can help you and there is literally nothing you can do about it but wait. Youre at the GDOLs mercy. Trust me you arent the only one.
PUA Denied appeal delayed almost a year
I have an initial date of 6/17/20 on a PUA claim. In November I was auto denied never speaking to anyone and as of now over 1 year late I have not even received a DATE for my appeal. No communication whatsoever. I qualified due to not being able to start my w-9 job at the beginning of pandemic, in addition I was a gig driver throughout 2019 and submitted that via my 1099 tax form. I also have pulmonary sarcoidosis and was told by my pulmonary dr to quarantine to not die from covid. I submitted all of my documentations and have not heard anything. This is cruel and unusual punishment in my opinion.
Desired outcome: Immediate approval and all back pay paid
They do not care or look at the facts
I am a single mother of 5. I told the rep that I was loosing my car since it was taking so long to get help to make the payment while I am between jogs. Kela Bussey with DeKalb rejected my claim, saying due to lack of transportation. How does this even make sense!? I need the help to get a job to get to work. I am behind and I am about to lose my home. I am a single mom of 5 with a less than 1 year old. I am been so nice, but I am mad. I am about to be homeless next week with 5 kids! Please someone help please!

Eligibility pending a determination for more than 3 months
I was laid of from my job Jan 31, 2021. My claim was processed March 11, 2021. I have left numerous voice mails and sent many emails, to both the DOL and Commissioner Mark Butler. I never get a response. I emailed ask 11 alive and the said they contacted the DOL and I should be hearing from them soon and that was almost 2 months ago. I emailed constituents office of Governor Kemp and they responded they were forwarding my concern to DOL and should hear from them. I emailed Clark Howard. I know that I am eligible for UI and it is unreasonable that it takes more than 3 months to determine eligibility. The offices are still closed even though Georgia has reopened, but it is impossible to get a response from anyone. Please help.
Thank you,
Mimi Gabriel
Desired outcome: Need someone to contact me and also need my unemployment paid.
I check my status daily and it still says eligibility pending a determination. Unanswered messages and emails is evidently how GA DOL is “doing such a fantastic job” of processing claims. I know many other people are in the same situation, and even worse is that Mark Butler cannot or will not say when the office will reopen. He did state in something I read online that no one in the office can help with eligibility determination as that as handled over the phone. It’s supposed to happen within 21 days according to the “what happens next” part of the confirmation that your claim has been processed and you will be contacted by DOL if more information needed. It is so frustrating because there is absolutely no reason it should take this long. They are processing far fewer claims now than before, at least according to Butler. I have worked in Ga for almost 50 years and never collected unemployment . Thank you
itll take atleast 6 months hate to inform you. Im going on 4 months now. My buddy filed in january and just got his last week so it took him basically half a year to receive his benefits. Doesnt matter who you call...ive even been in contact with our state representative rick williams who personally contacted the GDOL for me over a month ago and nothing changed. Hate to tell ya...im in the same boat...just remember who to vote for next go around.
Delay in Processing Claim for Unemployment Benefit
I lost my job due to no fault of my own in April 2021 (not COVID-19 related) and meet all of the qualifications to receive UI benefits. My last day worked was 4/23/2021. I filed for UI benefits on 5/4/2021 and registered on the GA employment site as directed. That same day I received email confirmation that my claim was received. When I checked the status of my claim it read, " Your eligibility is pending a determination. Check back in 48 hours." On 5/30/2021 I received an email directing me to confirm my identity at ID.me which I promptly did.
Today is June 14. I have checked my status every 48 hours... 26 times!
I have received no further communication from the DOL. To date, my former employer has received no communication from the DOL! I have been without a paycheck for 4 weeks now. I am diligently searching for work and to date have received no offers. I WANT to work, but until then I must rely on UI benefit for my living expenses.
I have tried to contact GA DOL and my employment center (Gwinnett) only to receive the same message - no one available to help at this time. Leave a voicemail. I have left several. No replies. What, if ANYTHING can I do to expedite the process? Just tell me and I will. Is there NO ONE I can contact who will actually ANSWER the phone and provide some insight as to the delay? Do I need to go in person to one of the career centers (assuming one is open)? I realize my story is not unique and that there are those who have been without a source of income longer than I have been; however, that does not change the fact that I have no income. I have paid into this system and I expect to receive the benefit if and when I need it. That is the definition of "insurance."
Desired outcome: Receipt of all UI benefits owed since separation from employment (less initial 7 day waiting period.)retroactive to
im going on 4 months with a pending claim. They cant be reached by phone or email. And the locations are closed. Pretty much your only option is too pray to god it magically works itself out. My friend said it took him 6 months to get his first UI payment he filed in jan. and just received his first on last week. so it literally took the GDOL half a year to process his UI claim. Hate to tell ya that but the GDOL is terrible...they blame the pandemic but thats just an excuse theyve always been this bad.
no contact
filed fraud on my account 5 times. have no money, can not log onto my account. sent e-mails, text, even wrote a letter. no one will contact me.
Desired outcome: personal contact
payments since march 13 2021 not received
im inquiring about payments from march 13 2021. it says all my past weeks have been received but not processed. just wondering if you guys are still going to give the pay for weeks claimed. i know that the unemployment will end soon but i just need to know if i will be credited for all weeks claimed. also i caught covid 19 twice in the last 4 months. i have had to lie to my employer just to put food on my table and care for my 17 month old. i have worked sick as a dog and yet no answers have been given
Desired outcome: would like payment for all weeks claimed since march 13 2021
