Goodyear manufacturing defect on tire

I had a set of new goodyear winter tires installed on my 2011 Honda Pilot, on November 06, 2013. There was a visible manufacturing defect on one of the tire. The dealership will replace the tire with the visible defect, but for SAFETY reason there should be a total recall on these tires. I personally will like to be fully refunded, because I don't have any confidence in GOODYEAR.

"I personally will like to be fully refunded, because I don't have any confidence in GOODYEAR"

We would all like things for free BUT life does not work that way.
I am sure that you received paperwork telling you what the warranty on the tires is.
I am equally sure that it NEVER says that you get your money back because you have no confidence in GOODYEAR.

Goodyear what they don't tell you!

About a year ago, I made a large purchase at my local Good Year on a promotion where interest is deferred for a year. After that purchase I made other purchases. So I'm making my payments above and beyond the minimum thinking they are taking the additional funds and applying it toward the promotion balance. Makes sense. WRONG! They were not. When I called to figure it all out, I spoke to a lady named Peggy who was extremely rude. At one point, I was trying to figure out where the promotional information was located on my statement while she insisted it was at the bottom of the first page. I read the entire page to her with no information about promotion. I told her it's not here. She said in a very rude and unprofessional tone" NO its there. Its there.". I said, "I don't see it. It's not here". She said "NO ITS THERE". Turns out the information was on the top of the second page, not the bottom of the first. After realizing she was being very difficult with me, I asked to speak to her manager. I got a man named Luke on the phone who was equally as rude who told me it's the law to apply payment that way. Maybe it is the law. I don't know. But anyone with half a brain could understand how that just doesn't seem fair. In the end, I will have to come up with a large sum of money before February or I'll be hit with deferred interest despite the fact they have received above and beyond that amount. My plan is to pay off the card, close the account, and never use Good Year again. They just lost a good customer. I'm sure they could care less. That's what's wrong with this world.

As I was trying to say, but not sure what happened. If you want to make payments on the promotional part of your bill, you must actually request that your money be applied that way. Don't assume what makes sense will happen. I could understand a fly by night company trying to screw over their customers, but a reputable company like Good Year - I guess I just didn't think they would do that. Wrong. Anyway, make sure you tell them to apply your payments to promotional charges first if that's how you want to handle it. God Bless.

Goodyear routine car maintenance

I took my vehicle to Goodyear tires for a routine check up. They broke a nut to the back tire and the manager Peyton agreed to fix it.

When I came back for the job to be done, they refused to fix what they promised they will.

I called the county police and they told me to report it to corporate or to take the matter to court. this is very bad customer service. If you say something as a business, you should keep your word.

If nothing is done about this situation, I will take further action i.e. take it to court.

Do not trust their diagnostics and recommendations because they'll have you buy more services than you really need. Also note, they do not honor any corporate Goodyear warranties or free diagnostics because they are a franchise, but they never tell you that up front until you get their bill. Goodyear inferior work

Goodyear recommended I get valves adjusted. After charging me 197.00 to adjust and put the valve covers back on, they told me it was ready to be picked up. After paying the cashier I went back to mechanic and tipped him 20.00 for taking care of my classic vehicle. He informed me it would be needing push rod tubes, I asked when and he said a few months. I was a little suprised later when I thought about why they did not call me and say it needed push rod tubes and the ones in there are 'rusted'. They let you know everything else you need when you take it in and I had not had any problems in the past with their work or their honesty.
The problem is after 250 miles a push rod tube bent and broke and rendered the vehicle unusable without putting in a cam shaft. I filed a complaint with Goodyear and they said they would not do anything about this as the recommended I put in push rod tubes. My point is they only made this recommendation AFTER they put the valve covers back on, and it would cost me another 197.00 plus parts to install and adjust. This was incomplete work to insure I would come back. Not a good business practice. I have had Goodyear do work for me for many years and will not be back.

Goodyear errorcode cant use gps

I have a goodyear gps>gy120. I keep getting error code calnot.exe, will not let me use my screen, after several attempts to call the electronic company, the NCC, brooklyn new york, they still haven"yt returned my call after I left messages explaining the problem.and there are no updates at all for the gps when they say go update it, I would like to speak to some one regarding this matter. or get refunded for gps, , I have original receipts. but it seems like no one wants to correspond with me, I also emailed goodyear with this problem, and no responce, so this is my last attempt, before I have to go over everyone"s head, thankyou, Mark Rinehamer.

Goodyear rude employees, not able to get in for appt

I have tried now for the last 3 weeks to get in and have my oil change and tire rotation.
I thought it was a good idea to get tires so I would get free rotation. Well after spending over 600.00 on tires not including an alignment and oil change I have not been able to get in for an appt. I call and the rudeness for one thing is just not acceptable and being told I can come in and wait(which is what I requested to do) and being told I will have to wait 2 1?2 hours for oil change is outrageous. Even when I get up on a Sat. and am at Goodyear at 7:30a.m. or earlier to insure I get in I am still told they do not have enough help and will STILL have to wait an hour. This is also not acceptable. I work 6 days a week and try my best to be polite but I have had it with Goodyear. Now I will have to go somewhere else and pay for tire rotation not to mention i have been going to this particular Goodyear for 11yrs and they have all my information. I have purchased numerous tires for our vehicles and maintenance on our vehicles for years. This will stop since I cannot be accomidated after 3 weeks of trying. POOR SERVICE AND RUDE EMPLOYEES> WHITNEY WEBB

Goodyear closed accout without notice

On July 1, 2011 I checked the status of my Goodyear Credit Card account to see if it was still open and it was.
On July 26, 2011 I went to a local Akron OH, Goodyear Tire retailer to purchase four tire for my car and have the car aligned.
I also wanted to take advantage of Goodyear's double rebate offer and six months same as cash deal by using the Goodyear credit card.
The purchase was completed and when I gave the salesman my Goodyear credit card.
That's when the problems began.
The purchase was declined because the account had been closed on July 10, 2011 by the credit card company for inactivity.
The salesman said that was not a problem as I could just fill out an application and reapply and get a new account in minutes via the store terminal.
Well that never happened. The Goodyear credit card company (Citigroup) said the application was declined but could not tell the salesman the reason.
I placed my purchase on another credit card account and returned home.
The saleman gave me the Goodyear credit card company's phone number but it was one of those that isn't answered by anyone just an endless phone loop, press 1 for this, 2 for that, etc.
I then accessed my Goodyear credit card account via their website and sent them an email concerning the problem with my application.
The following day I received an email directing me back to their website to view their email answer.
They do not correspond via regular email, just internal email through their website.
There was a new telephone number to call to contact them.
The person answering the phone could only tell me that my application was declined but did not know why.
I then said why don't you just re-open my previous account since it had only been closed for about two weeks and he said that would not be possible.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold.
Eventually a female supervisor spoke with me and told me that my credit bureau record for Experian was frozen and I would have to remove the freeze in order for them to process my application.
I told her I would do that immediately.
I then paid the fee to remove the freeze for 7 days and informed the credit card company via their internal email.
I received two letters from the credit card company dated July 29, 2011, both letters had the same reference number.
One letter stated that my application was declined due to an insufficient number of accounts and insufficient credit experience.
It also said I could review my Experian credit bureau report for accuracy.
I did just that and found I presently have 14 credit card accounts and my credit flawless.
The second letter stated that they would like to process my application but it is incomplete or part is illegible and a duplicate application was found.
Please contact us at [protected] within 15 days from the letter's date to continue processing the application.
So I called and the person answering the phone asked me for the ref. # on the letter.
I stated that I had two letters and both had the same ref. #.
He said that was not possible the numbers would be different,
I assured him that it was possible and the numbers were identical.
He then said in order to reprocess my application I would have to remove the credit bureau freeze a second time.
I stated that I was not going to pay another fee to have that done and he said well then I guess you don't want to complete this process.
I told him I did not and I'd take my future tire business elsewhere.
It is obvious that they never reviewed my credit report after the freeze was removed or they would not have sent one of the letters.
Dealing with such a company of incompetents is a real headache.
The Goodyear Credit Card Company aka Citigroup has seen the last of me!

Goodyear tires

After purchasing Goodyear tripletread tires 1 year ago and after being told how good they are by the goodyear dealer I am furious with bad quality product and an absolutely shameful customer relations department. After driving only 15000 ams on these 130000 rated tires the road noise became unbearable. I went to the dealer and was told the were cupped badly. I informed them they were rotated at 10000 but had no invoice for this. Goodyear told me and I quote"the tires being bad are a result of your negligence and are in no way covered". They then insulted me further by offering to sell me two more at at discount of 30% off what i paid just twelve months prior". When i reiterated i had rotated the tires i was sternly told anyone can lie including the ford dealership who told me they rotated them. I then informed the dealer and Goodyear customer service that i was never given warranty info for these tires and was never told I HAD to rotate the tires after 10 and produce documentation of said service. I will never shop goodyear again and urge others to do the same. SHAMEFUL on a cooperation to treat customers like this.

Goodyear defective tires

Bought 4 Goodyear Tracker 2 tires for my 2004 Toyota 4runner and as it turned out 3 were defective (out of round). It took a lot of re-balance checks to get it diagnosed. Went to Wal-mart (where I bought them) twice, twice at Discount Tire, and twice to Firestone where they finally diagnosed the problem. I mean come on, how freakin' hard is it to diagnose a bad tire people? Long story short, Wal-mart is going to pro-rate them (the best they would do) and they ordered me a set of Michelin's at a nice discount. Just waiting for them to arrive. Never again will I buy Goodyear!

I have a pair of Tracker 2 my truck, ran only 24, 000 miles (50, 000 warranty) in 2.5 years. The recent state inpsector said they worn out, I checked them, and yes, they are almost complelely gone (quite evenly). I talked to the installer, and he told me I have to have rotation record in order to get warranty. I am very much surprised.

Goodyear repair work

As always I took my car in for an oil change and the free tire rotation (no issue). Once GoodYear finished the oil change I get a phone call saying your SUV needs $600 dollars of work. So I inquire into what the work is. Rear Brakes are shot, Rear Rotors need to be replaced (current ones cannot be reused) Brake fluid, and other fluids are bad. As well some joints need to be swapped out. On second guessing GoodYear I took my car to my local repair guy for whom I gave the GoodYear receipt to which listed all the suggested work. My repair guys checks the SUV against the list, and only the rear brakes were bad, and the rear rotors were able to be reused. All the fluids were fine minus the brake fluid, and no joints need replacements. In all $175 dollars with tax of work was done plus a carwash free of charge! Good Year is a ripoff do not buy into any other work Good Year tells you that your car needs without going to a local repair guy. I saved myself $425 dollars!

Goodyear car is leaking scam

The store manager called me in the back to show me a puddle of clear liquid my car was supposedly leaking. he then informed me that my "intake" was leaking. When I asked what kind of liquid my intake was leaking he answered by saying it was a mixture of oil and coolant. Assuming he didnt realize my father is an ASE certified master technician that is only a phone call away, he quoted me a repair cost at $650. He said it was required to put new gaskets in and flush the cooling and oil system. I told him the car didnt leak in my driveway for the past week, he raised his tone and said, "well its leaking on my shop floor now isnt it" He told me it wasn't safe for me to leave with my car in its condition. I demanded my keys back and left. The car mysteriously fixed itself while parked in my driveway last night. No check engine light either. I would not recommend this store to ANYBODY! Find a local honest mechinc by asking locals who to trust. NOBODY will recommend these guys. Here is the number [protected]. The mangers name is Tim. Women - Stay away from these scam artists. Goodyear auto repairs

Had my 19 yr old son take the car in for a wheel alignment... then they said it needed a tie rod replacement... then they said it needed a wheel bolt replaced.. then two.. from $70 alignment to $1100 of work. I had them replace tie rod, bolt set not available that day. When he took the car in, it just needed alignment, when he left, THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL WAS SO LOOSE it was barely drivable. Either they loosened it or it just happened to come loose while at GYear... he drove it back home and thank God he made it! I had my mechanic check it - he and I were both shocked to see how loose the wheel was - he tightened the wheel (impossible to do it the bolt was actually broken). Not only are they rip-off artists, they risked my son's life. Jerks.

Goodyear damaged car/charged for repair

I dropped off my car to get $18 oil change on 09/01/10, but when I finally picked it up on 9/10/10, it cost me additional $235, and the repair is not even finished yet. I allege that the Goodyear Gold Coast Tire of Coral Springs “mechanics’” negligence or incompetence or both caused the damage that I had to pay for, or not get my car back.
My car, ’02 Chevy Impala has a safety feature in the shifter. Only when the shifter is moved into “Park” position, and a little lever inside the shifter assembly raises up, can one safely remove the key from the ignition, which is located on the dashboard. The inside lever has been getting stuck lately, so I fashioned a string tied to it, which, with very little effort, assists in lifting the lever in proper position. It’s been working like that for awhile.
When I dropped off the car for an oil change, I told the counter manager about the string, so that they will not have any problem getting the key out. The employee said it was no problem, he’s aware of some Impalas having that problem. The car was supposed to be ready in a couple of hours, with a call to me that it’s ready. No one called that day. The next day I went to the shop to ask if the car was ready; it was; I paid, got my keys and went to leave. However, the key inserted into the ignition lock, but wouldn’t turn. I immediately knew what happened. Whoever drove the car last did not pull on the string to get the key out easily, but instead forced the key out, damaging the ignition lock cylinder in the process. This is exactly what I hoped to prevent by telling the counter manager about the string.
After speaking with the shop manager, who identified himself as Tony Petrone, several times over the next couple of days, it became clear that he will not take responsibility for his employees’ negligent actions. Mr. Petrone said it was just a coincidence that the ignition lock just went bad while in their possession, as opposed to his employee causing the damage. I, an adult, reasonable man, am supposed to believe that?
Mr. Petrone asked if I wanted him to replace the ignition lock assembly, at my expense of course. He offered to waive the installation fee, which is probably less than an hour. I told Mr. Petrone that I just wanted my car returned to me in the same condition as when I brought it to them.
After week and a half of not having a vehicle due to this situation, I finally picked up the car on 09/10/10. Mr. Petrone presented me with a bill for $234.99. I told him that I believe that his “mechanic” caused this damage, and I shouldn’t have to pay for their negligence. Mr. Petrone told me and my wife that he will not release my car to me until I pay the $234.99. I told him that I plan to challenge this, but I had to pay, under protest, to get my car back.
A few other examples of the shop’s employees’ incompetence manifested themselves, from not delivering on the promised date or calling when promised, to having grease/oil on the inside of my car, smell of which is still present inside of my car. The steering wheel face has several scratches on it. And finally, the rubber/plastic cover that goes over the ignition lock is missing. Mr. Petrone said it’s lost, and he will get me a new one. That was on 09/10/10, and to this date, 09/18/10, it has not been delivered.
Taking in consideration my experience with Goodyear Gold Coast employees, I allege that the employee who drove my car after the oil change damaged the ignition module by “muscling” the key out of the ignition. If he did not know about the usually problematic Impala ignition issues, he could have easily asked someone in the shop. Instead he just wrenched the key out, causing damage that I had to pay $235 for, and me not having a vehicle for a week and a half, plus all of the frustration it caused.

And I still have not received the molding around the ignition module (somehow amazingly lost by his "wonderful mechanics"), which Mr. Petrone said he'll order and call me when it arrived. That was 09/10/10. Today is 12/9/10. In his usual irresponsible manner, Mr. Petrone keeps blaming manufacturer for failing to deliver the part. Does he really think any reasonable and prudent adult will believe in this nonsense?

I have recently discovered yet another part of the mess the Gold Coast Tire created. Somehow the new ignition cylinder will accept ANY Chevy/GM key. Apparently, when the "experts" of the Gold Coast Tire were readjusting the cylinder to accept my existing key, they messed up in that too.
Now anyone with a GM key can start my car and drive away. So, on top of the expense Mr. Petrone's mechanic caused ($234.99) I have to have the expense of having ignition module removed and adjust it properly. I would bring it back to Mr. Petrone, but considering the total mess they've created (for an $18 oil change), I would not trust them to even look at my car. This "mechanic" are the worst I have ever encountered, the level of incompetency is astronomic, and Mr. Petrone's idea of customer service is appalling! I can't believe that a premier company like Goodyear allow these people to operate under its name.
