customer service
During my visit at Hobby Lobby in Albemarle NC I needed to return a few things. During the return process Lisa the cashier was extremely helpful and very nice to work with! However, Jim who I believe is the manager (a very bad one at that) was very rude to the cashier helping us in front of the customers! We could not help that we were returning something and held up the line. And it certainly was not the cashiers fault! As well as very disrespectful to address her in such behavior in front of all of their customers! Maybe the line would not be held up if he was to schedule more cashiers to help out on a weekend! I have been here multiple times here recently and only one cashier is working and I've had to wait longer than I should! After this happened we were helped in the floral isle by Robin who was also very nice and helpful with us to get things for my wedding day! While we were in the floral department we notice some floral stems that had a sign above them that stated 75% off after taking them to the register to purchase them for my wedding. Once at the register a man named Danny told us he couldn't sell them at that price that they were not the correct ones. We walked with him to the aisle along with multiple other customers wanting to purchase these floral stems and showed him where they were placed and the sign. He stated that he could not sell them to us and there was nothing he could do about it. We mentioned that maybe he should move them because it was misleading to the customers. As we were talking he ignored us and we all felt that, that was extremely rude! I shop at this store a lot because I live near but if service continues as follows I will be doing my shopping else where. I think the store would benefit by adding more associates like Lisa and Robin and less like Danny and Jim!

On Saturday 4/20/2019 my husband and I witnessed a very irate manager verbally abuse an employee. We watched her walk away and speak to another manager when the first one rushes right to her and starts yelling again to the point where it looks like he is trying to get through the store manager to get to the employee! I've never seen this manager before but...

I went in to grab a few things. While I'm checking out, I ended up having to wait behind someone exchanging an item. No problem. The manager comes and tells me to go to another register due it taking some time. I say ok and move over to another one. While this cashier was absolutely amazing, I ended up having to wait another 10 minutes to check out because...

You all are reprehensible as a "Christian" store. Employees are poorly trained, work very slowly, and are most unkind. I went to the Lufkin, TX location on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at a little after 7 o'clock. When I was ready to check out, there was only one line with people backed up. The girl working the register was working as slowly as I've ever seen anyone work as a cashier. She did finally call for backup. I heard her say, "one", which I thought meant she was asking her coworker to open register number one. I only had one item so I hurried over to register one. The other cashier walked right past me and opened a register on the other side; I had said that I had heard she was about to open as she walked directly beside me. She didn't bother to explain but definitely heard me. That was rude. She could minimally have explained that the other worker had called a code 1 and that her register was on the other side. So I got back in the original slow line. I then proceeded to use my paper 40% off coupon, and the girl said she couldn't use it if it was on sale...she then proceeded to look at a salespaper to see if it was one of the items on sale.
I had already waited for 15 minutes to buy an item that I could easily buy at Wal-Mart. At this point, I was livid. I loudly asked for a manager to whom I got an apathetic person who slowly sauntered over to the register. There was no apology...nothing. Then for whatever reason, my debit card did not go through. I even looked up the pin to be sure I was using the right one; it still did not go through. They obviously did not want to give me a 40% discount on a $5.00 item! No, that is not the purpose of the 40% discount--it is for large over-priced items. They all just looked at me as if I was trying to take advantage.
I had asked for help a former time I was in this store. When the person couldn't find the product, he/she left me as they supposedly went to go ask for assistance. I was left standing there with no help whatsoever as no one ever returned to assist.
I do not want a discount or free item. I am venting and letting you all know you are not representing yourselves as a "Christian" store well at all. I will never use Hobby Lobby again. I'm done.

Good Day,
I was at your Madison store in Mississippi this past week. There is a African American female manager (Sharma), that I asked for assistance, however she was on her cell phone texting and ignored me and walked off. Then I watched an African-American woman walked up to her and asked her for something, she assisted them. So I thought that she may have not heard me, so I went up to her when she was finish with the lady and asked her again for assistance, she walked away from with her phone again. I finally found a rep who helped me and asked who I could report the manager to and she directed me to the website. I will not mention her name, because I do not want her in trouble with her manager. If this is the caliber of managers you hire at your stores, it will only be a matter time before the rest of the staff there starts to treat people horrendously.

Sunny Side Up products are substandard in inferior to Wilton products. I bought what was supposed to be ivory color and it's some kind of nasty green. I would never put that on anything. I was in shopping Friday Nov. 9th 2018 in your Victorville location for couch pillows. I did not find what I was looking for and proceeded to leave when I was stopped at the exit door by loss prevention. I was detained. Loss prevention claimed the store manager Jim saw me on camera putting merchandise into my purse in floral. My purse was searched and found empty. When I asked for Jim to show me where on camera he saw me. I was told no, and to leave without making a scene. I feel on was stopped due to my race and appearance. I was humiliated in public and infront of my 4 year old son who was terrified over the while situation. I will be seaking legal action over this matter.
Sincerely,
Frances Duron.
displaying products that you don't have will not reorder and will not sell finished product
Saturday Nov. 10 2018 I was in the Hobby Lobby in Lakewood, Wa. I wanted to buy one of the quilting panels you had displayed in your fabric dept. the clerk said they were out and was told they were not reordering them, I asked if I could buy the finished panel, Tim (PIC) said they won't sell them until corporate told them to.
I feel that if you have no intention to reorder an item, you should not display them, the Tim (PIC) was very rude when I asked why they were displayed and not selling them.
I would like someone in charge to contact me.

bad customer service.
I shop at my local Hobby Lobby 11711 Princeton Pike Spring Dale Ohio store #270 today 11/12/2018 at 6:15PM. Saw a sign for all Artiste thread is 30% off. I take a few of #18 nylon threads to check out. The cashier asked the guy working there to go check, he came back quickly said no sign. I knew he didn't check. I brought just one with my online coupon since I don't want to hold back the check out line. I ran back to take a picture of the sign just to let the cashier knows so it won' t happen to other customers. When I am almost there, he ran right after me and asked me if I need any help, I told him no I don't need help because the sign still there why he said no sign so I am taking picture & show to the cashier. Then he told me he looked at wrong before. Haha what a coincidence. He immediately ran quickly before me to the cashier & tell her he looked at wrong stuff. It is 30%off . Funny after I already purchased & went back took picture. I show the cashier the picture, she told me to purchase the rest of my purchase but I was no longer interested. Just want to straight this out. No body deserves this. Please work with your heart, everyone already has a long day, tough life . I hope this won't happen to other people. Normally I don't have any problem with this store. Look like it was just wrong day with wrong people. I attached the ad & the thread so you can see it is real & just happens today.
customer service
I came to Hobby Lobby to look for a few decorations for my baby shower and desperately needed to use the restroom when I walked in. Before I continue, I would just like to say I would not generally use my pregnancy to excuse anything. So I walk to the the back where the restrooms are and I see a sign that says they are closed. Then I see a woman come out of a stall and I ask her if they were closed and she tells me she just couldn't wait and told me to just go in. I was very hesitant but in my desperation, I did. I had just finished washing my hands when I see a man walk up to the door, I am embarrassed and ashamed (I never do stuff like this) so I apologize. This man goes on to say (in a rude manner) " No, your not sorry. You saw the sign". Now I know I am not completely innocent in this scenario but I could not believe how rude he was, I worked in customer service for 2 years and neither me nor any of my coworkers would have ever spoken to a customer that way. I was shocked at his reply/attitude and became angry. I walked out and I am not proud of the following, I said " I'm pregnant" walked away but was so bothered I stopped, walked back and said " you know what, I'm not sorry". It took a lot for me not to cry after that. I just could not believe him and I can not believe what passes as good customer service these days. I am still very disappointed. Definitely ruined what was supposed to be a good experience.

I was shopping at my local Hobby Lobby in RNcho Cucamonga for my daughters gender reveal. She wanted a fall/pumpkin theme. I bought some baskets that were all in the huge display under the fall set up which had a 40% off sign. When I got to the front they rang up regular price. I asked the young man helping us about it and told them they weee part of the fall promo display. He was very nice and said let me ask my manager. He asked Yesenia about whom quickly turned towards us and said no those are not on sale they are regular price. I responded back but there is a huge sign in front of them saying they are. She rudely responded back "But there not!" I could see the young gentlemen helping us was uncomfortable so I I paid for my stuff and walked to the side. My daughter and son in law were with me so I ended up returning the baskets and we each purchased one with the 40% off coupon for one regular priced item. I think it was absolutely ridiculous that we had to do that in order for us to get the price that was obviously posted for everyone to see. I took pictures of the display as proof. I have never had an experience like this in your stores before and feel Yesenia is a bad representation of your company. There was no need for her to talk to me the way she did. As a Regional Manager myself of many employees I take customer service seriously and hope someone speaks to her about how to treat the customers she serves. Thank you.
service
I was very disappointed and dissatisfied when I was in the store where I live becaus I was treated rudely by the manager for one but that's not all. As I was exiting the store I was stopped by a Police office where I was being accused of stealing. I was embarrassed, I felt that my race had something to do with it only to learn they had the wrong person. I have always shopped in your store and have spent a lot of money and to be treated like a theif made me question the way the store is run. I hope that this never happens to another good person every again. I am a good hard working Christian who was raised proper and had never stolen in my life. I don't know if I will every set foot in this store again.
greenery garland/out of stock item;rain check lost; rude cashier
Hello,
I have recently spent a good deal of time in the Hobby Lobby in Richmond Kentucky, 40475, planning our upcoming wedding. Upon being unable to find what we were looking for to create our table centerpieces anywhere else, we were excited to find that Hobby Lobby carried "Greenery Garland" that would work perfectly for the look we were attempting to achieve. On July 14th, we were fortunate enough to catch a 50% off sale on the garland we wanted so we decided to purchase the eucalyptus strand. However, only were three in stock at the time and we needed 18. So we asked the cashier (whom I do not have a name for) if we could have them ordered to the store and still purchase them at the 50% off price. She wrote us a rain check for the out of stock pieces, gave us a copy, and said she'd be in contact once the pieces came in, hopefully soon.
A month passes by and we've heard nothing. We wait an additional two weeks and finally decide to return to Hobby Lobby to check on the status of the order. So we went in on the first week of September (2nd visit so far), and the items were still out of stock. We decided to check online while we were in the store and the item was also out of stock online. So we decided to go speak to someone. The cashier we spoke to was named Janet and she was immediately rude. When we explained the situation, she told us that we needed to contact corporate on our own to find out if the item would come back in by November 3rd, when our wedding is taking place.
We returned home and sent an email to corporate about the predicament and the next day we received an email back stating that the product was completely out of stock and would not return to stock until mid to late November...after our wedding.
Completely frustrated and now concerned over what we would do to figure out our centerpieces, we decided to return to Hobby Lobby to find a potential replacement option. On our now third visit to Hobby Lobby we found a similar garland, "His and Hers" brand that we thought would make a decent replacement but there was not enough of this garland in stock either. So we decided to talk to someone, again. We saw Janet, whom we spoke to last, and decided to ask her to see our rain check that was written in July so that we could talk to a manager about replacing the out of stock "Greenery Garland" with the other "His and Hers" garland that we found, hoping it would come into stock sooner than the original. Janet proceeds to tell us that we should just go talk to the floral department about it. Upon further persistence from us about the rain check, she finally states that all rain checks have been thrown out because the orders have been fulfilled...except ours NEVER was. Our rain check was thrown away and no one planned to tell us that our product wasn't returning to the store. Furthermore, we are told that we should just "call other nearby stores ourselves" to see if either garland is left in stock. We stood in the Hobby Lobby checkout area for 30 minutes calling all of the nearby locations (two in Lexington Kentucky, one in Somerset Kentucky, and one in Elizabethtown Kentucky) to find that both garlands are out of stock everywhere else too.
So now we're reaching peak frustration because we have about six weeks until our wedding, we have only three pieces of garland out of 18, and both affordable options for our wedding are out of stock. We missed the opportunity to buy out the "Greenery Garland" from local stores back in July when the item was still available. And our rain check has been misplaced/thrown away with no attempt to inform us of what was happening. We ask for our rain check to be rewritten in hopes that this time it won't be lost and by some chance the item we've been waiting for comes in. So Janet calls up Sandy from the floral department. Sandy rudely tells us that she will resubmit the order but that "we need to be sure we need that many because she doesn't want to deal with a surplus of that product if we change our minds" when they lost our rain check and put is in this predicament in the first place! So we get our new rain check for 18 of the "Greenery Garland" and we walk out with nothing.
We returned home, empty handed, and extremely upset. In the following days I registered on Hobby Lobby's website to receive updates in the slim chance either the "Greenery Garland" Eucalyptus or the "His and Hers" came back into stock and began looking at other options from other stores. However, none were both as affordable as the 50% off deal we were supposed to get and as nice looking.
By some miracle, three days later we receive an email that the "His and Hers" are back in stock. Although they aren't what we originally wanted and what our rain check is written for, we decided that we shouldn't chance it anymore and just settle for these instead. We also felt that it would be fair for Hobby Lobby to let us use our rain check for these since the other wouldn't be in stock before our wedding and they botched our opportunity to get them by losing our rain check.
So on our now 4th visit to Hobby Lobby over this mess, we spot Janet again and since she knows our situation (although we are frustrated with her attitude/rudeness) we decide to go to her. We tell her that the "His and Hers" product came back into stock online and we would like to have that ordered for the 50% off price on the rain check instead. She flat out tells us no. She doesn't offer us a discussion, doesn't suggest we ask a manager, nothing. She says no, i'm not doing that. Absolutely ridiculous! We've been so understanding at this point and done everything we possibly can to work around their mistakes!
So we ask to talk to the manager. She says "he's busy"...but he comes walking around the corner just at the right time. We ask him if he's the manager and ask him for help with our situation. In thirty seconds of explaining the issue he immediately says "oh yeah no problem, we can totally do that." He rewrote the rain check for remaining amount that we needed of the new product, and we went ahead and purchased the five that were in the store. Janet starts to check us out and begins trying to untangle the strands but shes so rough with them that the leaves are falling off. She glares at us the entire time as if we've done something wrong here. She gives us our total, shoves our stuff in a bag, hands it to us and says nothing else.
We speak one last time to Sandy who says the order should arrive on the following Monday (9/17). So we called immediately on that day and the order was in with the exception of three pieces. We went directly in and picked it up and checked out with a different cashier. We asked her to rewrite the rain check for one last time so that we could get our last three pieces. Now we are waiting for that to come in.
This took two months and five visits to get to this point. We still only have 15 out of 18 of a product we didn't even want to begin with. Our rain check was lost. We were given no assistance and told repeatedly by Janet to deal with the problem on our own ("email corporate ourselves, " "call other stores ourselves, " "talk to Sandy in the floral department ourselves"). Furthermore she tried to tell us no, which is an answer only the manager should be responsible for, without even ever seeking out the manager's assistance. If it weren't for our persistence we would be without any of the items we needed and would have either had to pay a substantially greater amount of money to a different business, or gone completely without.
Out of stock items happen and we completely understand this. I could have accepted that the product was semi-permanently out of stock in July when I tried to buy it! Because of my difficulty with Hobby Lobby, after my wedding I'm tempted to never return to one again - especially not the one in Richmond Kentucky. Lastly, Janet is absolutely the worst employee i've ever had an experience with and Sandy was not much nicer.
Thank you for your time.

children's "first book of faith" sewing panel
Good Morning!
I have always been very proud of Hobby Lobby, its Christian foundation, and the stand you have taken for righteousness in our Nation. I have always felt happy to support your business when I have made purchases in your stores.
Recently, however, I purchased a sewing project panel (by V.I.P.) which makes into a soft book for a baby/toddler, and was very surprised and disappointed when I went to cut it out. It was the first time I'd read ALL the prayers which were printed on the fabric pages. They were all fine, until the last page! It was a prayer to Saint Christopher for safety in travels, etc!
You've got to be kidding me! REALLY?! That is heresy! According to God's Word, we pray to our Heavenly Father in Jesus Name. We are not to be praying to anyone else, because no one else (dead or alive) is able to hear or answer prayer other than the one and only living God, Who created Heaven and Earth and everything that is in them.
That Hobby Lobby would promote teaching such a prayer to children is very disappointing.
Please be careful what you are buying and make sure you are upholding the truth of God's Word you have so courageously defended.
Sincerely,
Marcia Schmiedt

I recently was in the Hobby Lobby in Uniontown and I will never shop there again! I was in line and the cashier called for a manager named Cindy. When she came up she got very smart with the cashier who had a customer with a question. She was belittlng her and the gentleman who needed help said something to this manager and her response was short and snippy. The cashier looked like she was ready to cry. She apologized over and over again to the man after Cindy left. She didn't have anything to apologize for! Cindy should be the one begging for forgiveness. Christian store...I think not! Won't ever shop here again!
