Accused of stealing by James even though he had receipt and am a Pro customer
On April 5, 2022 approximately 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M, I sent my son to return a drill that was broken, the drill was charged with my Home Depot card. James, the employee, accused him of being a thief, brought him to three other people to tell them he caught a thief. And told them my son was trying to return a non Milwaukee drill in a Milwaukee box. During this time, my son called me and put me on speaker so I could hear and understand what was occurring. These employees were unprofessional and aggressive, would not listen to reason and would not provide a store manger, even though I told them to scan the Home Depot card and they would see the product is on my card. They were laughing at me and my son. I listed for quite a while until I thought I was going to have to drive to the store to help my son.
I told the employee at the Somerville, MA store to scan the credit card and the item, that was ordered online and pickled up at the Somerville store would be on the card. He absolutely refused to do it. I got irritated and was feeling bad for my son having to be subjected to this embarrassing and bad employee behavior. These employees were laughing and enjoying embarrassing my son in front of other customers. The drill serial # and the box serial # matched. Finally, I said that if the employee did not get the store manager, I was going to call the police.
The manager finally came to the front, after we were told that no manager was on duty. Utter nonsense, there is always a manager on duty.
The manager finally took back the drill but did not hesitate to further embarrass my son by referring to him as a thief. My son is an outstanding licensed plumber. The employee said he was going to have his retired father, a lawyer, sue my son for defamation becasue my son was telling the manager the story but the manager called him a thief too. If anyone was defamed it was my son, he was accused of stealing something that he did not steal, the employee said and did it in front of customers, and others in Home Depot at the time, paraded my son to other Home Depot employees and called him a thief. And ruined his reputation, And yes, I am witness.
My son was also here to buy a shop vac and a light bulb and some other things. The employees proceeded to follow him around the store and asked him how he got the shop vac, They escorted him to the register, even though he said he was not finished shopping.( He did not get the light bulb) they would not let him get the lightbulb., My son paid for the shop vac with my Home Depot pro card and left the store.
I called the Waltham, MA store and reported the incident. I was told to call Mike Attar at [protected]. I tried calling a few times but I could not get through, I waited on hold for more than 10 minutes, and was disconnected. This is why I wrote this here. I will post on Google as well. Caveat Emptor shoppers of Home Depot and the Home Depot Somerville store.
Windows
I purchased windows from Home Depot, South Elgin, IL and the installation took place on March 3rd. The bay window glass was the incorrect window grid and doesn't match the rest of the windows and the sliding screen door on the patio is the incorrect piece as well as it was fit for a different directional door.
Since this time, I've called the store up to 8 times and support another 4-5 times and get no resolution on this matter.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund on the bay window and the screen door replaced at this point.
Solar solicitors
Every single time I go to Home Depot I literally get chased down the aisles by their solar solicitors. It’s incredibly annoying to be followed and hunted down to talk about solar. It would have been one thing if they’re there offering it. But I’ve been solicited even multiple times in one visit. It’s got so bad that I’d rather pay a higher price to go elsewhere.

I went to Home Depot in Manteca California on 4/5/2022 at approximately 5pm to 6pm. I was returning a gallon of paint that I purchased from Home Depot in Stockton California where I reside. The lady associate immediately tells me that they DO NOT return paint that’s colored. I told her I’ve done it once before with no problems at all because it was not the...

After jumping through hoops with my landlord & waiting over a month to get an awful GE Hotpoint stove replaced due to it being on backorder, I get the new stove (same model unfortunately) and delivery decides to bring it and assemble it outside in the pouring rain. It was all wet & dirty all over from their gloves. They spent 9 minutes outside in the rain, left their trash behind and there's also already a ding in the paint that was there as soon as I got it. The top panel seen in picture doesn't even look like they attached it. My internal thermostat inside was hanging loose and no clips were included. They dropped it off and left pretty quick. The my first time using this oven, it was a full 50° lower from what the knob is set at. Doing the knob adjustment per manual didn't help either since that can only adjust 30° higher or lower at most. So this is my 2nd GE Hotpoint electric stove model RAS240DM1WW and both were poor quality (reviews alone- if it were my choice, I wouldn't have gone w/ this one once let alone twice but for this size you almost have no choice) and I wouldn't recommend. Nor would I recommend HD for delivery either. The last stove, the 2 men were also rough at installation and scuffed up the inside of the oven door. Pretty disappointed to wait this long and get this far only to still not have a properly working oven and such lousy delivery service.
Desired outcome: Someone from Home Depot delivery service to reach out to me
Customer service/contact
There is no way to contact anyone. Only stupid assed buttons to push to get the run around. Took forever to talk to a live person and the [censored] hung up. Your customer service/contact sucks [censored]. I've been spending quite a bit at your [censored]ty store and no way to get any contact help. Going to start shopping lowe's that is right around the corner from your crap-hole. Hd absolutely sucks if you need to contact a person. [censored]in just get the run around and hung up on. If you can even find a contact number.
And don't tell me what language to use or not to use caps. If your customer service was worth a [censored] we I wouldn't even be trying to contact anyoone.
Desired outcome: Lose the damned recordings. Have LIVE people answer phone/emails. HD really sucks.
I am receiving the run around as well I have been hung up on and transferred to someone in corporate that states she would help me. I called back today and there's nothing that was done. I paid $478.00 for a water heater that's less than two years old that no longer works. I have a five year warranty, out of hot water for three weeks and HD continues to blame a contracted local store for it all.
I an trying to reach the CEO of Home Depot I have asked for managers and supervisors and have not received a call or an contact me. I have been hung up on several times, the agents are clueless and it's an ongoing issue for three weeks now. I purchased a water heater with an extended warranty, I submitted a claim a local repair came out to look at the water heater weeks ago, he determined a part was needed and he would call Rheem the manufacture. I never heard back from him by email or call. I contacted the claims department who escalated to the escalation team who are clueless, incompetent and unprofessional. Home depot continues to point the finger at the local guy( I purchased the warranty with home depot). The local guy never answers and calls go to VM. I was told by an escalations agent if the part is on back order home depot will buy back my water heater(we've been without hot water for three weeks). I have not heard back about the back order or buyback. The escalation team continues to point the finger at the local person, there's no accountability from home depot. After being hung up on several times because we've been waiting for three weeks for a status I asked for the CEO information, of course the agent had no clue who the CEO is. I got the number for corporate, I spoke with a gentleman that I thought would help, he told me he was reaching out to Rheem instead I was placed back in the call queue system. I finally reached a lady that said my water heater was no registered she registered it and stated she would order the part and send a email with tracking this was 4/6 I have yet to receive it. I call service today 4/7 no records of an order. We have been without hot water for three weeks going round and round with Home depot because they do no honor their warranty and does not know how to resolve the issue or order a part. We should have gone to Lowes.
Double exterior doors in entry way
3/2/21 - Salesperson came to house and I purchased double exterior doors for entryway which had to be ordered. Made a down payment of $2,458.75.5/6/21 - Doors installed and did not fit. One door was taller than the other. Because the old doors had been removed, the new defective doors were left in place while new doors were ordered. The doors that were left in place allowed desert critters to crawl under the space at the bottom and I had lizards, spiders and scorpions coming in.
8/14/21 - the doors arrived and they were too small to fill the existing door space. I was told that they were standard size, yet the same doors I ordered for the master bedroom were larger than the front doors and fit fine. In order to "make" the front doors fit, the installer left to purchase 6"x4" lengths of boards from the local lumbar company. These boards were used to fill in the 6 inch gaps on either side of the doors.
10/12/21 - someone from the company came out to see the doors and explained that was all they could do to accommodate the doors and door opening. (I now have a double door opening 12 inches smaller than the original door opening.)
During this time, I made payments to Home Depot and thought I was paying off the balance.
2/18/22 - received a letter from Home Depot asking for a final payment of $7,376.25. I researched my payment records and I came with a balance of $4,621.18 that I owed.
2/28/22 - sent a letter with copies of checks/payments paid to Home Depot and a certified check for $4,621.18.3/29/22 - Home Depot stated they got my $4,621.18 check but that they never rec'd my earlier $2,755.07 payments and I owe them this amount of money.
Apparently, I was to send payment checks to a company other than Home Depot. I was never informed of this procedure.
Desired outcome: I'd like to finalize this project without any further payments.I would like some restitution that the doors are smaller than I ordered.
KOHLER Highline Arc Toilet
I bought a brand new toilet at Home Depot, inside the box and all. When my contractor came to install he told that my toilet was used (or refurbished) as it came with a lot of wax and even some paint on the side. See picture attached. Also, the toilet came with missing screw nut for the top piece of it. Just adding to the fact that this was an item that was returned and sold as new. That's not the level of quality expected when you buy a new toilet. I'm very disappointed.
Desired outcome: I would like some reimbursement back as I paid for a brand new toilet and got a refurbished/used one.
Orders wrong= no phone service Etc. Etc Etc
We ordered a 5 gallon pail of stain about 3-17, told it would be delivered on the 30th, box arrived via fedex wrecking crew, empty, oil stained, cut corners beat in, etc. I still have the box. Was told it should have gone to Minnesota instead and paid for with gift cards? Ordered another and still waiting. Additionally, we ordered two brackets and received an email it had arrived and was in "a locker" and to enter the enclosed code in "the locker". Which locker? So I called the Port Charlotte FL store to ask, a total of three phone calls and a total of thirty six (36) minutes listening to the phone ring. They refuse to answer the store phone, where is management while this debacle is occurring?
Desired outcome: A manager who pays attention
Home delivery service
Driver delivered two pallets of materials for lawn care needed for this season. He drove up my long and curved driveway with a giant truck, dropped the pallets off, and was sneaking away before I could even get outside to review the delivery. He tried to back down my driveway in his giant truck and in the process he drove on the lawn next to the driveway and made large trenches and destroyed the grass that took five years to get to grow next to the driveway. Called Home Depot. They fobbed me off on their delivery company, who told me I needed a quote for repairs to make a claim. So, because their idiot delivery company destroyed my lawn, I have to spend hours getting somebody to quote repairs for a little job that nobody will want to take, and the economic damage goes beyond "repairs" because the section of lawn will take at least 2 - 3 seasons to grow back in.
Home Depot sucks and leaves its customers in the lurch.
Military Discount Program
Why is home depot now requiring military, veterans, and disabled veterans to purchase a cell phone to receive the military discount. I recently made a purchase a the store in el cajon, ca and was told that i could not receive the discount unless I downloaded the mobile app which would require me to purchase a cell phone. or shop online. went to customer service and was told the same.
This appears to be a way for home depot to claim that they give military discounts, while making it more difficult to use the discount.
Desired outcome: place a disclaimer on all advertisement of military discount that states "military discount only available to veterans possessing a cell phone. no cell phone no discount

Was deliverd to job site the day it was supposed, I had someone their to meet him. The 60 bock came first and then the lumber. Talking to my man everything seamed to be there. In talking to him further found out mortor or cement was not and then the trawol was either. It took me hrs to get hold of Pin Oak to get the order fixed and a delivery set for tomarrow. I went out there today and looked around and at the order and notice the fence hardware wasn't there either. I not looking forward to try and get that delivered. Now my block people are gone so I have another problem.
NOT a happy camper
I wonder if Lowes is any better.
Over the years I have purchased a lot of material and tools.
Non-existent service
Won't ever be shopping at home depot ever again! I will go to lowes. When you walk into home depot, the employees scatter like cockroaches when the light is turned on! If an employee sees you coming, they turn and run and disappear in the back of the store! Extremely rude, hateful, and unprofessional! When I walk into lowes, there's always an employee up...

Order
On 3/15 I placed and paid for an order in the Murrells Inlet, SC store for chain link fencing supplies. I was told delivery would be 3/21. At 7:30pm on 3/20 I received a call informing me that all items I ordered were not available. When I placed the order, all items were in stock. The conversation lasted until 7:56 at which time the Home Depot employee hung up on me, the store closed at 8:00. This morning at 6:00, 3/21, I made numerous attempts to check availability on the products at another Home Depot, not available there either. The items were shown as available for both stores when I checked on HomeDepot.com. I had arranged for a local business to install the fence today, 3/21. My Home Depot card has been cut and thrown away, they’ll get no more of my business.
Delivery/replacement
In November of 2021, I ordered a brand new Samsung gas stove. Had a really cool griddle ontop and five burners. I took delivery of the stove on December 29th 2021. I let the delivery guys do their thing. They let me know it was all installed and worked properly. they left, then I noticed that the griddle was still in the box, but the box had bee CUT open. Imagine my surprise when I open the box and realize that they didn't put it on the stove because whichever one of them opened it, had put a nice big SLIT down the middle of my griddle, making it unusable. Called the delivery drivers, they NEVER returned my call. They knew they had screwed up. took me several calls to get thru to Samsung/Home Depot delivery, was told that they would replace the griddle. Should take a couple of weeks. Said ok, that would be fine. 2 weeks go by, nothing, gave it a couple more days and called back when still nothing. Was then told that the part was on BACKORDER... had been for a couple of months. Asked why they didn't tell me that originally. NO reply on that. So I asked how much longer. they said they didn't know. So I said id wait a bit more. Called again in FEB... over a month after delivery... still on backordered. Was then told it could be months. Said I didn't want to wait that long was told I could get a credit for the part... a Visa gc. worth 150 bucks. said I would take it. They did the process, said it would take a couple of weeks. Another couple weeks go by... I call back March 4, over two months since del... was told the card would be processed that day and shipped out. It is NOW March 21st, still no card... called back, had to speak to three different people, got three different stories, and the supervisor that I spoke with last said I should have it in 4 days. I asked why it takes so long and he said that it always takes that long, a week to 14 BUSINESS days. I have had the runaround with Samsung/home depot. Will NEVER order another Samsung appliance and Home Depot needs to fix this problem.
Fraud - Bait and Switch of Delivery Fees
On 03/18/2022 at approximately 1247 hours, I placed an Online order with Home Depot for three products. One of the items had free shipping as an option, so I chose that. The other two identical items were $55.00 for "Basic (porch or driveway)", $46.61 for "Threshold (inside doorway) and $66.13 for "Room of Choice". I chose the least expensive $46.61 for "Threshold". When I checked out and reviewed my receipt, it hiked the fee up to $85.00 without my authorization. I thought I would give them the benefit of doubt and resolve it because Home Depot has always made it a procedure to honor their pricing errors. Having said this, I texted with Home Depot Customer Service. They refused to honor the price I was given even though I had a screenshot of the order screen and text it to them. They said they were unable to duplicate the problem, like I was lying to them. I went back Online like I was going to order it again and I was able to duplicate the problem and learn more. Then without my authorization they cancelled my order. I went Online again and reordered the items and choosing curbside I still had to pay $55.00 in delivery fees because the other two options would charge $85.00 (threshold) and $116.00 (room of choice), despite still saying $46.61/$66.13 respectively. I hate to admit this took almost two and a half hours out of my day, which I will never get back.
Desired outcome: The error corrected, employee reprimanded and a heartfelt apology from a company executive. I would also like to know if others have experienced this same problem. Perhaps criminal or civil litigation would be more applicable.
