I tried signing up for the discount on line. It told me not verified. I contacted the site it directed me to for help. They said I was verified but it still comes up not verified. They changed the system obviously to make it hard for old veterans to navigate and not give the discount whole advertising that they do. In the past all I had to do is show my service related VA ID. I spent over $5000 at Home Depot last year. I will spend it at Lowes from now on where I just have to give them my phone number.
Desired outcome: Fix my account to reflect my disabled veteran status
Impact windows
I made a purchase back on July 2021 the sales representative advised me that it would be installed by November 20 21 no one has contacted me no one has said anything to me I’ve sent numerous emails to the CEO of the company I’ve been back to the store to find out about the installation if I don’t call no one calls and I’m left in limbo still have not received my windows this is very upsetting late for a big corporation such as Home Depot it is on believable that no one is able to contact you and give you the correct information we are now in February and I still don’t have my windows
Delivery
In Dec. 2021 my refrigerator quit so being as I'm 69yrs old, disabled and have had a very good relationship with HD since the 1980s plus I have a credit card
with you, and I don't have a vehicle and 25 miles to the closest HD. I ordered an LG on line with free deliveryI got the confirmations and it was supposed to be delivered Jan.6. Received a call from HD to set up delivery. I then received a call from a Barlows Distribution on Feb. 9,2022, which I never had contact with them before, to tell me they would not deliver to me because it's a dirt road. It is a county maintained legal rd. so I don't understand how you can single me out. My friend up the street just had a stove delivered from HD.I really don't know what to do as I don't want to cause any trouble but my back is up against the wall. Can you help me?
Desired outcome: ref. delivered
Two factor authentication
Home Depot Online has changed their sign in process to a Two Factor Authentication process. You put your user name/email in, then your password. When that is accepted, a screen tells you that a verify code will be emailed to you to verify who you are. I have contractors at my house waiting for materials to be shipped and I can't find out the disposition of...

Hi, I signed up for home depot card Nov of 2021. Made small purchase on it and paid it off on on Dec of 2021 bill. Since it was paid off I neglected the Bill's that were mailed. Apparently they were charging me a $2.00 interest charge in the following months of January and February 2022 and then throwing in a $40.00 late fee onto of it. So for a 53.00 purchase which was paid off I'm stuck with a 119.00 in fees
They're customer service is a joke, 1/2hr to 1hr hold times and agents that you can't understand. The new corporate America ha.
Desired outcome: I WOULD LIKE MY FEES REMOVED AND REFUNDED TO ME. AND THEN CANCEL MY ACCOUNT.
Military discount
It seems this no longer works , Ive concluded that Home Depot is backing out of this program by introducing a complicated procedure for the vets.
There was no discount today for a common hardware item.
The lady at the self checkout said it needed to be streamlined , well now the increased burden is on the veteran with the fooling around with the phone during check out .
So long Home Depot!
Desired outcome: Show a VA card as in the past when the Home Depot wanted to give the discount.
Carpet installation
On Dec 26, 2021 I ordered carpeting form Home Depot for $2,368.33 to replace the existing carpet in 3 rooms of a condo I purchased on Dec 10th. As of today, the carpet installation has not been completed. The first attempt to install was not completed due to an issue with the carpet itself, apparently there was a hole in the carpet. The carpet was reordered and set for installation today; however, it could not be installed because Home Depot did not order enough carpet - it was about 6 feet short. So the process must begin all over again, reordering, waiting for delivery, and being added to the over-burdened and over-extended installation schedule all over again. Based on previous experience about another 3-4 weeks IF all goes well, and even then it’ll be another 7-10 days to unpack my belongings. I’ve been “camping” my condo since Dec 14.
Because this is a new home purchase the delays have been extraordinarily stressful. I’m living with most of my personal belongings stacked, un-boxed, in the living-room. Worse, when they removed the old carpet weeks ago that left exposed carpet tack strips in which I have to try and avoid. I must wear hard soled shoes or slippers at all times to avoid puncturing or cutting the soles of my feet.
I have been in contact with the local Home Depot store; the carpet installation contractors; the regional Home Depot office about this problem. I’ve filed a formal complaint with Home Depot. None of the actions have resulted in resolving the issue and I’m left in limbo, living in hazardous and nerve-wracking conditions unable to enjoy my new home.
Home Depot's carpet warranty is worthless. They try to charge you $225.00 for the supposedly free carpet stretching.
Late charges
I paid off my account. Then I got a bill for $29. Then I got one for $60. I called, they said I was late (due on 8th, my on line payment dated 10th...8th and 9th were weekend. Customer service took off the second $29. The next level support removed the interest and said I now owe $29. I called back to pay $29, and was told it was $31. TKO I guess, but I would never do business with citi again,
Desired outcome: Refund all charges
Military Discount
New Home Depot policy for Militar Discount is for service member (active or retired) is for member to logon to Home Depot web site using a smartphone instead of just showing legal DoD ID card.
What if member doesn't have access to a smart phone or cannot logon to web site? What if member spouse doesn't have a smart phone and cannot logon to web site? How to claim a military discount?
Desired outcome: Reinstate showing Militar ID.
military discount
I'm told I need a cellphone to get military discount. I don't carry a cell phone, I didn't need a cell phone to join the Air Force. Why not a barcode sticker for your credit card?
Desired outcome: discount applied without having cell phone. Possibly a bar code
Refrigerator Scratched on Delivery
This letter is to notify you about a problem I am having with the Samsung refrigerator Model Number RF28T5101SG that I bought online on December 8 2021 and delivered scratched by your Glendora Store on January 29 2022.
I am dissatisfied with your Glendora Store’s Manager, your customer service and Samsung customer service because no one that I have contacted in this matter has offered any remedy or compensation. I have already attempted to resolve this problem by numerous telephone conversations with Home Depot employees at various levels, but without success.
Desired outcome: 1.Refund the entire purchase price of the refrigerator;2.Exchange the refrigerator for a new, undamaged one;3.Repair the damage to the refrigerator
Credit card scams
I signed up for a credit card as a promotional thing to get 100$ off purchase. I signed up and had no issues for a few cycles of the bill however, I did call them to change the billing due date and they tried to charge me 100$ to change my billing due date. After fighting to get past that they changed it free or charge SUPPOSEDLY, however it never went through. I was charged a late fee in December when I paid it on the due date. Was told that I’m supposed to pay it earlier than the due date. The date that it’s due is the date they consider late. So if it’s due on January 5th your supposed to pay January 4th. The 5th is considered late. What the heck!? I had them change it to after the 6th as don’t get my pay till between the 4th and 6th of the month. I paid it on the 6th yet again and was hit with a late fee and it doubled my minimum payment due each month now. I called and complained and they refused to do anything about it at first. They did remove the late fee of 10$ but my monthly payment now has doubled. None of this crap is in the documents when I signed it. I have told them repeatedly this is out of my control and I have requested a change of due date. They then tell me today it won’t take effect for several billing cycles usually 2-3. She then also told me that I was supposed to have gotten a letter in the mail with information regarding my due date change which I never did. When I told her that she said oh well you were supposed to get it. Never confirmed my address or anything. Citi bank is fraud and I’ve heard it before from several but Home Depot assured me they had changed and weren’t like this. WRONG! They just wanted to suck me into a credit card which I could have paid cash for what I purchased which was 699$ but they offered the 100$ off if I signed up for the card. Huuuuuge mistake! Don’t do it, stay way far away from this fraudulent credit company. It took nearly 3 months to get my credit card in the mail and it came in a well marked envelope which sets out red flags for credit theft. Mostly all information for identity theft was included in the letter except for my social. I don’t use bills in the mail as a due date I set alarms on my phone via calendar which is best bet, however to this day I have no received 1 bill in the mail. I find that funny as I feel they are just trying to make some people miss their due date intentionally. I told them repeatedly it’s beyond my control when I get my paychecks in and that is why I changed my due date! The First Lady laughed and said we’ll have you thought about automatic payments? Uhhh if I signed up for auto pay and you with draw early It could put me in a bind. I don’t like to have too little money in my account for various reasons. She said oh ok well sorry.
So needless to say 1 missed payment of 35$ becomes 74$. They remove the late fee and reduced down to 64$. This makes zero sense as she said she removed the late fee completely and adjusted it as a credit. So shouldn’t the late fee bring it back down to 35? 35$+ 35$ late fee = 70 not 74. So where the extra 4$? If you remove 35 from 74 doesn’t this equal 38$? Where’s this extra money coming into play? The supervisor couldn’t explain it at all! This is just a trick to see if anyone is paying attention and when you bring it up they stumble on words quickly.
Stay far far away from this company. I have had 180$ truck payment for 4 years and never missed 1 payment nor was I ever late. So this isn’t something that I ever run into.
Desired outcome: Citibank closed or class action lawsuit filed?? Or better yet just remove from my credit report and fix their errors. Once this is paid off it will be NEVER used again.
Cambridge Gray Wicker Outdoor Sofa
I purchased this sofa February 2021 it was with a 1year warranty. The sofa has been covered due to fall/winter months, and when I recently uncovered it I discovered a bend in the frame. I sent pictures to Hampton Bay and all of the necessary paperwork. I was told by Hampton Bay to take the sofa to the Home Depot that I ordered/purchased it from. I went to the Home Depot store that had ordered it online for me and showed them all of the paperwork that I had and the texts that I received from Hampton Bay saying to return the sofa to the store and it would be replaced/reordered. The manager at Home Depot said to bring in the sofa and they would issue me a credit on my credit card and they would re-order the sofa for me. The following day I arrived with the sofa and paperwork and was told that they would take the sofa back but would only be able to issue me a store credit. They would not re-order the sofa for me. They also said I could not use their issued store credit to order the sofa online.
Funny though when I originally bought this sofa they ordered it right from the Home Depot Store (#1122) customer service counter and had it sent directly to my home.
Desired outcome: Use the store credit to reorder the sofa online; or,Allow me to return the store credit to the store (#1122) and Home Depot credit my VISA card used for the original purchase.
Delivery service is unacceptable!!!!
We ordered a refrigerator November 27, 2021..delivery schedule was February 2, 2022. Received call morning on Feb 2 at 8:45 am stating they were 20 minutes away. I sent a pin drop at 8:50 of my house location. Missed call at 8:55 from them. I tried calling back at 8:58 no answer...9:00..no answer left message...wife tried over 10 times..no answer no return call! Rescheduled for February 4th..received call 10:00 am stating they were on the way and delivery will be made around 12:00...received call at 11:45 stating didn't think would make it roads were slick..i checked road conditions..roads clear! Asked them if could leave at local Home Depot store and I'd pick up..stated ok would do that. They called back 10 minutes later stating can't do that would have to reschedule for Feb 18th 2022. I'm done with Home Depot! My advice is do not buy any appliance that is not in stock at the local store!
Not receiving the $50.00 off on the one time/first time purchase for opening a home depot credit card.
In December I ordered a new emergency water heater online. When you check out, customers can receive $50.00 off that purchase if they apply for & are approved for a Home Depot Credit Card. So I did that & was immediately approved for the Home Depot Credit Card. However, when I went to complete the checkout, I could not receive the $50.00 discount for applying for the card because you had to have a 'Text Code' to complete that process. I had applied for the card with my phone number, which is a landline. You can't get a Text Code from a landline so therefore I applied for & received approval for the Credit card but was unable to use it for that one time/first time purchase because I didn't have a Text Code. I contacted Home Depot Credit Card Svcs immediately the following day & she said to wait a month until everything went through & to call back & they would credit my new Home Depot Card with the $50.00 off. Today I contacted them & they absolutely will not give me that $50.00 off. This is baiting customers & fraud to get them to sign up for a Home Depot Credit Card & then for customers that have a landline, they won't follow through & give them the $50.00 that they bait them with. What is wrong with Home Depot that they are doing this & their Customer Service is so horribly unprofessional & unethical.
Desired outcome: I want the $50.00 credit that I have coming to me from Home Depot for opening up a Credit Card Account.
Gift cards
Home Depot Gift cards are a joke I went there got a tool with the gift cards never used it still in box a week later seen a better deal online went to return it and oh boy guess what can only get in store credit can’t use in store credit online and store will not order anything for you that’s online talked the head people at Home Depot only told that the stores do what ever they want so live with it
Desired outcome: To be able to get what is online with in store card means the store says they can’t put it back on the gift card it came off of
Company financial department - home depot citi card woes
We are moving and found new flooring for our home in Oregon at the Home Depot in Grants Pass. We had our floors measured and paid the man through Home Depot.
Before purchasing the flooring, we requested a credit line increase to cover this large expense with a 6 month no interest if paid in full. The person in their financial department was quite friendly and helpful and increased our line immediately and stated we were "ready to go" in completing our purchase through Home Depot.
Boy oh boy - was that a whopper of a lie!
Not only was our transaction denied, and we tried calling, but the rep will only state: "your card is under review" and then hangs up!
Why did the first agent state we were ready to use the credit limit, he never mentioned any waiting period before using the increase? Why don't you try to help your customers. Don't you want our business?
We do not blame any of the employees at the Home Depot in grants pass, only the people in the credit division that are playing with our lives... And this is only around $5600.00!
We are not trying to do anything other than to buy flooring - which is not a crime!
Unless they are will to resolve this and honor the discounts we were supposed to receive (10% off) which offer has expired due to your dept; we will be cancelling our Home Depot card and recommend others do as well!
Extremely poor service... No consideration or compassion for your customers - total disregard for people's lives!
Desired outcome: HAVE CREDIT DEPT CALL US TODAY AND RESOLVE THIS.
Credit card deceptive advertising.
I signed up for a HD credit card to get $100 off my purchase. I didn't see any discount in my cart, so I called the credit card company to check where it is. The rep told me it will show up once I place the order. It didn't. I called to see where that discount went and was told it will reflect on my bill. Got the bill. No discount. Called in and was told that since I used a $20 off coupon in the cart, I can't get the $100. I asked them to at least credit me $80, for a total of $100, instead of the $120 with the coupon, since I made such a HUGE mistake of using a coupon, but they (rep, and supervisor) just said, "can't!"
I went back to the Home Depot site and still see the promotion. It has no disclaimer that a customer can't use a coupon. Allows a person to file for a card, and offers the terms of the card, but has no rules about the promotion. I cancelled my card immediately, but am so upset because the reps promised me twice that the discount is there.
Stay away from the Home Depot credit card, or be prepared to feel very stupid and insignificant.
Desired outcome: I want my $100 credit for signing up.
Credit card lies
I signed up for a credit card with Home Depot and they said that my first payment was late by one hour because they are on the east side. They charged me $29.00 on a hundred dollar credit bill. I told them that no where was it stated that I had to pay by eastern time. They charged me anyway. I said I would like to close down the account. This month, I...

On 13 Oct 2021 we picked out a pair of new Electrolux Washer and Dryer at the Home Depot Store in Cypress, Texas. (Order number H6586-225192).
We opted for Home Delivery and purchased the extended service plan for 5-years.
The units were delivered on 20 Oct 2021. The delivery appeared to have went smoothly and the units were installed in our Laundry Room on the first floor.
There was a Blue Energy Star Sticker on the front left bottom corner of the dryer. We paid no attention to it as it looked like it belonged on the unit. last week my wife noticed that the sticker was starting to peel away at the each so she removed the sticker. When removed, the sticker revealed a significant chip in the enamel. It became obvious at that point that the sticker was added to conceal the damage. I can only assume that the contracted delivery company damaged the unit and put the sticker over the damage to conceal.
I contacted the 1-800 number at Home Depot to seek a fix for the problem. The agent told me that since I had not reported the damage within the first 48-hours they were not responsible. They advised that I contact the company that handles the 5-year protection plan that I purchased.
I called the company, which is Allstate Insurance, they stated that the damage was not covered and that the 5-year plan was strictly and Mech or Electrical coverage.
At this point it appears that Home Depot is not willing to take ownership for their Delivery persons attempt to conceal the damage and the fact that the expensive extended coverage plan that I purchased is not worth much.
Not a happy company at this point. I am more than willing to share pictures
Desired outcome: Fix the damage - repair the paint chip and restore the dryer to its new appearance. Be respectful and stand up for the services that Home Depot Sells. Train your staff to not tell the customers that the protection plan is inclusive.
