I go shopping during the night so I can go in and out without having to deal with the daytime crowds. Today at 1:37 am, I go to check out and two employees are talking to each other, the cashier who's name is Cindy and another employee named Alicia. I have my items on the belt and they just keep talking. Finally, Alicia walked away and Cindy rang me up without even an apology. This happened at store #3191 which is Romeoville, IL.

I am so disgusted by the actions/behaviors of the store located on approximately Roosevelt/State (Chicago, IL). A friend and I came into this location at approximately 11:15 PM and were told that all of the "dark" liquor was Under lock and key. I asked to speak with a manager regarding this constraints in sales, especially when the closing time was not 11:15 PM. I was told there was no manager on site that could unlock the behind of the cabinet storage of the "dark" liquor and that I would be unable to purchase any for the evening. When I brought up the fact that I thought this was a discriminatory action into that their liquor CSB Ren referred to as "dark" under lock and key. I asked to speak with a manager regarding this constraints in sales, especially when the closing time was not 11:15 PM. I was told there was no manager on site that could unlock the behind the cabinet storage of the "dark" liquor and that I would be unable to purchase any for the evening. When I brought up the fact that I thought this was a discriminatory action and that their liquor kept being referred to as "dark" liquor, I was told I could "take it up with Itasca." I find the behavior of the night manager & the store wholly unacceptable, not only for the fact that I felt like me & my friend were unable to purchase the type of liquor that we wanted, especially because my friend was "dark" & two, for the sole reason that I was told that if I didn't like the fact that there's store was not selling me a liquor, even though their store hours permitted such sales, that I could "take it up with Itasca" as if there were no repercussions to their unlawful actions

I got to the deli counter at jewel at 950 pm on April 24, 2018, there were st least 4 employees behind counter finally one of them acknowledged me and told "Richie " he had a customer. He turned around begrudgingly and asked me what I needed. I gave him my order (all of one item) he proceeded to slam the cheese container on the scale saw that it was not enough and went to the back to get a new one all the while slamming the knife down the slicer etc. I realize the deli closes st 10 pm however I was there before that time and in fact was done before 10pm. I did not appreciate the rude service I received. When I got to the check out lane as usual there is one checker open and had to wait as other employees roam around instead of jumping on a register. I would think with Mariano's opening up down the street soon your employees would treat their customers better.

I was mortified about my situation that there were no toilet paper, napkins, soap towels Nothing in bthrm none of the necessities needed in a bthrm. At my time of need. . I am embarrassed and ashamed, and just upset as u can imagine just talking about this isvery embarrassing ... I did my purchased and then went home very upset. I spoke to a manager.

04/15/2018 around 10:30PM, I went to Jewel for my grocerie shopping as I always do at least 2-3 times a week. This Jewel is open until 12AM so it is very convient for me to go since I cannot go during the day. I bought $70 worth of groceries as I checked my receipt I noticed a 24-can of Mt Dew to be more expensive than I thought it was. So, I decided that I would like a simple return for the Mt. Dew. The person in charge that night, Jesse, refused to give me a return saying that he cant give me a return past 10PM because of some type of report he has to do. Now, Jewel is open until 12AM so there is no reason as to why a customer can not return something with a receipt. I tried to explain that I can't come a different day because a) I always come to Jewel past 10PM and b) it is just not convient for me to come back when I am right there already. So Jesse walkes away from me and left me and my girlfirend, Donna standing with our receipt confused as to what just happened. A minute later an overnight older men that goes by Mr. Bob comes charging and yelling at us to "Get out" of the store or they will call the cops on us. I politely say that all I want is a return and I will leave and he walks away yelling to Jesse to call the cops. While Jesse calls the cops, Mr. Bob goes ahead and starts insulting us by saying, "your going downtown" "wheb you bend over in front of the police you will think of me." At this point I am completely shocked that I am gettig talked to like this all because I followed Jewel policy on returns and they don't want to honor it. Donna tries to calmly talk to Mr Bob saying there is no need for the police all we want is a simple return and Mr. Bob keeps saying "I DONT CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY" which at this point we asked for both of their names and left. As we were leavig Jewel the police stopped us and told us to wait outside in the cold (Chicago weather) while they go talk to the employees. Which ended up with the police telling us that we caused a scene and to get out of here before we get banned. Everything that happened is on video, you can clearly see Mr. Bob yelling and insulting us, while Jesse went inside a closed room to call the police. This is the most disgusting thing that we went through as customers and would like for Jewel to take seriouse actions about these two employees. Thank you.

I went to buy a mothers birthday present and saw an arrangement parked $59.
Upon checking out I find that the price charged was significantly more $75.59 which was charged to my credit card 3/14/18. This pricing seems to be a case of deceptive practice. Why does the charge on the card not equal exactly the tag marked on the flower arrangement. You might have clean floors in this store but overcharging customers is not a way to keep my business. Computers and all this scanning devices are actually less accurate than when Humans did it. I used to work at National and A&P Tea stores in the same shopping center.

expired food
I have gone to Jewel at 1341 Paulina St for years. I can walk there so it is very convenient. I have started driving to a Jewel further away, but more often driving to Mariano's. The Jewel on Paulina is ran so incredibly poorly. I've gone in to find the bacon I bought expired, as well as cereal. Not only were the items expired, but people had placed them in the front with the unexpired items pushed further back. This leads me to believe they knew these items were expired. My friend who also goes to this Jewel got food poisoning from the same bacon. I will add photos tomorrow once I am home of the cereal, some of which expired in June 2017, it is now April 2018. I absolutely hate having to go here, especially since nobody in this store cares about it.

I have been a customer with Jewel/Osco for over 30 years and one of the main reasons was that they had delivery service. I went to shop at the Jewel located at 1341North Paulina in Chicago on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Before entering the store I saw a glaring sign: Home Delivery 10:00am-4:00pm. The manager at this store is Todd Mich.
I was confident that I would get a delivery. I shopped and when I had put all my food on the belt, I informed the Clerk that I wanted a "Delivery". She shouted across the store about delivery, someone shouted back that they do not deliver on Saturdays. I wanted to walk out of the store and leave the food where it sat. The manager stated that they were not getting many deliveries on Saturdays (So Put it on the Sign posted outside). I had loaded and unloaded that cart, with arthritis in the back, the bottom line I had spent 327.39. I live alone and the only way for me to get the food home was to get a UberX, the driver assisted me to the bottom steps, but I live on the second floor. I had to lug 7 heavy bags up those flights of stairs.
This is the last time that I will be shopping at my favourite food store. I am so disappointed with this company. I have been ignoring a few things that seem to happening to the store. I think they are targeting a certain group of people, I am African American. They don't have Catfish, only Salmon. They don't carry African American cosmetics. These were small issues, but the delivery issue just pushed me over the edge. Maybe I will be shopping at Mariano's from now on.

I have shopped at Jewel(s) since I was a kid, and continue to do so. I am now 41 years old and I continue to shop at Jewel. However, since I moved to Crystal Lake a couple years back, I have had nothing but disappointments with the Jewel in Crystal Lake IL. This store is CONSTANTLY out of products. There is not a time when I go there and at least 1 product on my list is out of stock. And common products like spinach for example. The produce is very weak, and in some cases disgusting. I even came across some gluten free buns that were totally moldy. The grocery bags constantly rip because baggers don't seem to know weight limits. I find myself constantly frustrated almost every time I visit. If I was a manager of this store, I would be embarrassed. And I have heard this from my neighbors as well. I have not experienced this at other Jewels I have been too. And with the Mariano's opening up across the street this month, the Jewel in Crystal Lake is in big trouble. I hardly ever write reviews or provide feedback, but it has gotten so bad that you need to know.

I have shopped at the Jewel in Antioch IL many times In this past month I have encountered a very unpleasant customer service associate by the name of Tracy. My first encounter I needed some assistance at the service desk. I have worked customer service for other retailers in the past so I understand that it can be very frustrating at times. When I delt with Tracy it was later in the night around 10:30pm. Tracy was rather rude and kept saying she was new to the service desk and apologized for taking so long. I told her it was understandable. But then Tracy had to rering some items at a register so Tracy had her employee do it and was very rude to the young employee when he questioned what exactly needed to be done. Tracy was very rude to him and he stated to me he still was not sure of what he was supposed to do after Tracy stormed off shaking her head like we were all idiots. I explained to him what Tracy was asking. He stated Tracy is rude to all the employees when Tracy does not get her way. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe Tracy was having a rough day.
The second time I encountered her it was around the same time. This time Tracy was at the register. And Tracy started to ring thru my items and I gave her my team rewards card and Tracy started interegating me why I have one in a rude manor. I stated my husband is an employee at another location. Tracy stated you can not use it. It is just for employees. I stated that it has never been a problem and that he was in the car watching our 9 month old son if you would like me to get him. Tracy said you cant use it and kept making a fuse about it and a very unprofesional manor. So I stated then I wont use it. Tracy proceeded to scan all my items and I decided even though Tracy was being rude I would start assisting her with bagging my groceries since there was no bagger present at this time. As I started to bag my items I realized all the bags were next to her and not at the end of the bay. But instead of handing me some bags so that I can assist her she just rolled her eyes. Tracy never once handed me any bags and I needed to reach over the bay to bag my own groceries.
Each time since I have been in this location in Antioch IL because it is convenient for me on my way home, I have encountered her because Tracy will be one of the only employees working the registers at night and she rolls her eyes at me even if I do not go to register. I have gotten to the point that I walk into the location and see her and question if what I need can wait until the next day. I have avoided asking questions or for game pieces if Tracy is there because I do not feel the need to be disrespected every time I encounter Tracy. I have heard other employees complain about her and I know Tracy has also been very rude to my husband when he goes in there so I do not think it is just directed at me. Tracy was rude to my husband who has been a Jewel employee for 10 + years and thinks that her behavior is very rude and unprofessional. He thinks that not only should I not be treated like that because of one encounter but anyone. Tracy does not greet people or say thank you she just has a very unpleasant demenor and unprofessional attitude for some one whom is in customer service. At the end of the day I am not trying to cause anyone to lose their jobs. All I ask is that Tracy change her approach at customer service or rethink being the front end face of your company.

At the jewel Osco in buffalo grove Illinois the customer service person name Kevin (not sure about the spelling however the one who worked their on Friday March 30th around 9:00 pm). The way he was talking was very arrogant. He wrote the rain check to the person before for the product that was no longer available and when I went in for the rain check he rudely denied and said that he will not write me the rain check. I said that why not you wrote the rain check for the other customer and for the same product. Than he showed attitude to me and told me that I will only write the rain check to the person who I want to. He was being very abusive and said that I am not suppose to answer your questions. After he was being ignorant and said that he is not going to have any more conversation with me and I have to leave from his place. He was very unprofessional and I am not going to recommend my friends and family to go there from next time, if I see him at the place again. I would request you to pls take strict action against him. I hope you will take the matter seriously.

Why did you raise the price of chunked pineapple in the Produce area? It was 3 for $12.00 (noted on a sticker on top of the container). When we went to our Jewel in Woodridge a couple of days ago, there was no price seen by the sliced/chunked fruit. My husband asked the produce man. The price was now located on the bottom of the container...$5.99 a container. $17.97 for 3. Why? Another reason to go to Costco!

I'm so tired of the stores in my area. Very high prices for food that is expired and or getting there. I think if your paying prime price you should get prime products. Try going to the produce department and find fruit or vegetables that aren't going bad. Bring it up to the person working that section and be told it's ok green grapes turn brown. I see a lot of quick sales in the meat department . Hmmm maybe if the price was lower and some of the water was removed you could sell a little more. As for up and down the isles. Very easy to find what ever you are looking for. That has expired. It's not a new thing it's been going on for a long time. Then the attitude you get from half the employees is a joke. I think after 40 years of shopping at jewel it is time to move on.

poor customer service/mismanagement
I am reaching out today on the behalf of a manager named Joan located at store 3176 9400 S.Ashland I am a frequent customer and I have received rude and unfair treatment from the aforementioned manager on separate occasions and as of yesterday I will no longer be continuing my shopping at this location due to her poor customer service and lack of regard for customers as myself
It would mean so much to me if this situation was taking care of because I love shopping at this location and I love the services jewel has to offer...
I have experienced the same, and was there 5 years, the manager in west roxbury mass, is horrible, her staff is afraid of her, and she looks down on ppl, if osco does not take care of these managers who treat customers like this, they will loose all their business to cvs and walgrees, shame on them, handle their staff, esp the managers, who have this ego complex and scare even the staff, word of mouth goes far
question regarding 15 item line
Today I went to Jewel Osco at 4250 N Lincoln Chicago IL 60618.
When I was in the 15 item line, the cashier said six avocados in a plastic bag were counted as six instead of one. I put six avocados in the plastic bag and tied to bring it to the cashier. Since the 15 item line was not crowded, the cashier let me check out today.
This was my first experience in Jewel. I never heard such a rule from any cashiers of any Jewels.
I'd like to clarify if that cashier said was true or not. Otherwise, I'll count exactly how may items (e.g, apples, oranges, or avocados) I put in a plastic bag before I go to the 15 item line to check out.

On Sat March 3rd I went to my jewel store in my neighborhood, 10203 W Grand Ave, to do my weekly shopping and for the second time Stephen a cashier at this Jewel, attended me, very rudely, he has no customet service skills. Would not take my cash when i handed to him and my change he left me with my hand out and put it on the belt. I ask if i can please have my clorox in a bag and he stated the bags are there you can put them yourself. This is the 2nd time i can honestly go elsewhere but I dont think i should go out of my way due to an employee that is racist and doesn't have the skills to work at Jewel. I will take this further if i dont receive a call. [protected].

She is still being disrespectful to my patients. Call me and I will let you know how. What you did to help, just made it worse. She took a script from a patient of mine a few days ago, and said in a demeaning manor, "Let me see if this is written correctly". My patient told me, "What did you do to anger her so badly"? If this is not fixed, I will have my patients switch pharmacies. There are two other ones here in town, and a Walmart just down the road.

When I went to jewel on 2/17/2018 at 16:02:37 I was told I needed to pay tax on a free item which was lifeaid focus. This was supposed to be a free item off of the jewel app and I shouldn't have had to pay 25 cents in tax on a free item. The only item that came up with tax was the trident gum and lifeaid focus which came out to be 25 cents. The customer service named jim k at the schaumburg jewel location store 3216 ran me up and said that the tax was for all the items of mymixx and I have never paid tax on mymixx items before unless it was part of the cook county tax but that does not exist anymore.
baggers!! what no training???
So on 2/15/2018, I went to Jewel 800 West North Avenue in Melrose Park I spent over $300 on groceries and personal items yes. My cashier was wonderful great speed of service was excellent but then we have a bagger on groceries because so why would we put two jars of Prego spaghetti sauce of 32 oz glass jar of peppercinis 16 ounce jar of pickles that was glass and a bottle of Submarine sauce in one bag. That's only one of them bags so groceries from the back of my trunk pick up this bag of course because she decided to pack so much crap in this one bag the bad bust open everything hits the ground oh and my foot so now I have a shoe full of Prego spaghetti sauce which mind you I have $90 shoes on a Spyder sweater that cost me $190 has spaghetti sauce on it now I'm upset glass all over my driveway so I start taking out more groceries hey let me put in the bag with your food so if it leaks and gets on the donuts or anything it's fine it won't kill you or hurt you or let me put the shampoo conditioner and soap in with my child stuff food let me put 4 big bottles 32 oz or 48 oz bottles of tea one bag.. really remind you I have pictures of most everything except for I cleaned up the glass right away but I'm going to take a picture of my shoes in my sweater and a bag of all the mess that I pulled up out of my driveway I go to the jewel explain the situation so the manager tells me they knew who I was talking about automatically so this must not be the first incident and I never even pointed her out she said oh it's the young lady blah blah blah yes it is. So she tells me don't worry about it I'll refund your items I'll give you the items and I'll give you a gift card. Well needless to say she gave me my items never refunded them don't say something if you're not going to do it and then gave me a gift card but I didn't want to Jewel gift card gift card for like a bee's or something so I can pay it because it's a $200 sweater or how about go get my shoes cleaned because they're probably ruined.
