Good morning.
I my family and I have been loyal Jewel-Osco customers for years!
We have never complained and have acknowledged staff regularly for the great job they do.
Now I find myself sitting here at Jewel-Osco waiting for the pharmacy to open. It's 8:41 am and just like you guys we all have to be at work to help others.
We don't appreciate the late opening of the pharmacy. It has thrown of many customers daily routines.
Yes I know your thinking. Come after work or on the weekend.
Nope. Not an option. Like you guys. We have kids and obligations for after work and weekends.
Running in the am on the way to work was perfect to get meds and pick up a few things.
Even something extra to take I to work and share with our co-workes and enjoy with our morning coffee.
But not anymore more!
Please reconsider the pharmacy hours. I also noticed many seniors that prefer to get there meds first thing in the am are looking at Oder options

I am Olga Kozlova, MD. One of my patients went to a Jewel-Osco pharmacy in Waukegan and was refused to have her prescription filled. The prescription was written by me, I am triple board certified and licensed in 3 states. The prescribed medication was oxycodone. First, the pharmacist contacted my office in order to confirm that "it was not a duplicate". It is not indicated to contact a doctor at 8 pm on a weekend for non emergent matter. Prescription monitoring program should have been accessed instead. If the pharmacist did not, he would find out that this patient has been on double opiate therapy in the same dosing for months. I am not to be bothered when not indicated.
Second, the pharmacist told my patient saying my office not answering, "just ringing". The patient immediately contacted me, I checked if the number is working and it was. The pharmacist did not bother to try the number again before turning the patient away. My secretary answered the phone when it was dialed correctly and transferred to me.
Third, this pharmacist reported to me that the prescription is "fake since the color does not turn clear". My patient tried in front of him showing that the color turns white. And yer, the pharmacist wrote on a prescription: does not change color" and turned the patient away refusing to fill the prescription. The pharmacy manager that I called confirmed that the color turned white and yet they refused to fill a prescription.
This patient is a mother of 2, just out of the hospital, on many medications recovering. My option in this situation to sent her back to the ED that would cost thousands for no reason.
I called the manager (Kevin) and he did not admit to any wrong doing. Disgusting, not patient oriented at all, no respect to me and I work 24/7, rude and incompetent.
The patient went to Gurnee Osco pharmacy the next day and got the prescription filled even though it was marked "not changing color" and got the discount with the coupon I gave her.
Please address this issue of great importance to us.

The lady I talked to, unfortunately I don't remember her name, was extremely rude. I called because I had one question about 401k services and she was very short and rude with the information and actually hung up on me while I was in the middle of thanking her. What wonderful customer service skills that lady had, I certainly hope she doesn't talk to all customers that way!

I went to my local Jewel-Osco at 140 W Lake St, Addison, IL and paid with a debit card even reviewed my ID because I purchased some liquior.
The store manager Paul Betthauser at this location contacted the Addison police stating Monday Jan 22 me and my father robbed someone.
On monday Jan. 22 I didn't shop at this location and I did not rob anyone. If you know me and my dad this is extremely unlike our character.
I just got out of a interrogation for something I didn't commit. The Addison department called me a liar despite me telling the truth and contiously stated I committed a crime that I did not do.
When does racial profiling end? It's 2018. Not all African Americans are the same. Not African Americans are criminals.

I usually go to this location in Westmont for the pharmacy because I have had so many issues with the Walgreens across the street. Normally this jewel is on top of things. My dad has a very serious illness that requires medication we called it in at 7pm they told us over the phone that it would be ready at 9pm no problem, yet when I went to go pick up the script at 10:20pm at the drive up window and the pharmacist said he was the only one working and it wasn't ready and that thier were a lot of people ahead of me. I simply asked if it would be ready within the hour and I got attitude back saying he didn't know that thier is so many other scripts ahead of me. So I waited in the cold car for 45 minutes. I went back to the drive thru and it's still not ready.
I understand that it's a busy pharmacy. Well then why is only one person working? They really need to adjust thier scheduling. I have worked retail for over 15 years, if it is busy you schedule more than one person. It's not rocket science.

Today in calling your Jewel location at 11:50 I experience lack of customer service. I am a non for profit organization that operates in the Bolingbrook community, Single Mother's Of Culture nfp. I called trying to get clarification of the procedure for non f or profit organizations to be allowed solicitation in front of your store in Bolingbrook IL . The so called manager was very rude in telling me to go to another store along with telling me how busy she was, when in fact I patronize the community of Bolingbrook along with living in the community. She hung up and then when I called back a second time to ask for the district manager she put me on hold and then hung up. I spoke with the so called district manage Jim Panack, smh shaking my head he did not seem a bit concerned. Did not ask me my name, other than telling me what me writing a letter will do, smh
live lobsters
I am not vegan or vegetarian. I do, however, find live lobsters at Jewel quite offensive. Lobsters have an extensive central nervous system. They feel pain and discomfort. They require extremely clean water and food, which you may or may not provide them.
I hate seeing their claws bound and not in their natural environment. Do you have no empathy for animals? This is animal abuse. The majority of my friends agree. I love the taste of lobster, but refuse to eat these poor creatures on display and the way they are treated.
I will continue my campaign to make Jewel a more humane company. Please expect to see more from me until something is done.

I was at Jewel in Woodstock on 12/23/17 and made a purchase of $250. $50 was for gift cards and $200 in groceries. I had a $25 Jewel gift card and was informed I could not use it with this transaction because I bought gift cards. I understand not purchasing gift cards with a gift card but I was $200 over the gift cards . I think this is poor policy and was very upset leaving the store.
bakery department/birthday cake
I ordered a cake from the Oak Park Jewel Bakery on Madison for my daughter's 4th birthday party that was taking place on the 24th of December. The cake was to be ready at 20 but I received a call at 8am on Sunday saying they lost the receipt and the cake hadn't been made yet it was paid for in full. I went through hell with them only to receive a bad cake with my daughter's name spelled wrong. I spoke with the manager over the bakery named Linda who told me that she would refund half of my money (still not fair) and to speak with the customer service desk manager Lori and my money would be refunded. Unfortunately the cake was paid for with an EBT card (something I had never done) and I was told that I needed to bring the card. Unfortunately it was a gift from my sister that she paid for the cake and I had no access to it. I told the manager that I wasn't told over the phone that the card would be needed and that I couldn't make it back to the store today because I was in the middle of throwing a party for a 4 year old and preparing for the holiday. I also work 7 days a week in corporate for a hospital and part time in customer service as a teller at a financial institution. I can't make it there anytime soon. The nastiness in her voice as if I had done something to her when I had been put through hell was uncalled for! I got the cake Home and noticed that the frosting was cracking and melted on top of my daughter's name spelled wrong. The cake order was also under someone else's name and they couldn't find it when I got there. The cake should've been free for this. I usually go to the jewel on Roosevelt but since I recently purchased a home in the Oak Park area I decided to try the Oak Park location for the first time. Absolutely the worst experience ever! I will be sure to let all of my neighbors, family and friends not to visit this location. This is by far the worst cake I've ever had and the worst experience. Something needs to be done about the nasty workers and the horrible customer service

Dear Sir/Maam, my name is Fernando Brown. Yesterday, December 20, 2017, at approximately 10am. I visited your store in Oak Park, on Madison & Gunderson. I have been shopping at your store some 13yrs and only recently have experienced some very adverse, hurtful and alarming circumstances.
After I paid for my items and was steps from the exit, the security guard ran towards me from my rear, and ripped my ice cream from my hands at the same time screaming in my face where was my receipt and also attempting to arrest/ detain me! Within seconds, the cashier appeared and ask, incredulously, "what are you doing, he just paid for that?" In addition, the receipt was was left in slot and at that time your employee realized Fernando Brown is not a shop lifter.— Need I tell You how many of my community members thought they were viewing a shoplifter—Or maybe we can talk about how when the police arrived, they twisted the incident and were on the verge of arresting me... On thursday 12/15/2017 arround 21:40 pm, I made purchase including strawberry cake. Mistakenly was charged for 24 cakes. I did not want ti complete transaction but was encouraged by Tommy that money will get back right away to my card. As of today 12/18/2017 I am short over $341.00 and behind few bills and it is holiday season. On Saturday Dave- one of the managers told me it will be back by today, but today Allen - store manager said it should be back Wednesday. This is ridiculous and I am going to let world know. I am being humiliated and I am short money for gifts and family.
new pharmacy app
I was told to download the new pharmacy app when I picked up my Rx today and thought great Walgreens has had this for years. My Osco pharmacy is in Crystal Lake IL and I have had several problems with this pharmacy. They are always way too busy and never have the Rx ready onTime. I saw that they offered an app for text updates and went right to the App Store to install. When I attempted to open it just kept spinning never connected. What a disappointment. Finally up to dat but a non working app

On several occasions I shopped at Jewel and I see one price on a big pile of items. Then I go to the cashier to find out it is actually a totally different price. I was told the sign got misplaced. Well at the end of the working day all you see is a big number for the price, especially if it right over your item you don't really read the description. It is super frustrating every time that somehow the sign is not there for the real price or it hot misplaced.
I am not going to jewel any more. You do your budget by the tme you get ro the cashier and imagine my frustration when you are told a different price.

Today has been a nightmare lunch was ridiculous. The Seafood taste like it has been out since yesterday, the crackers were extremely stale & the sunflower seeds were stale as well. Horrible. There are certain some amazing pharmacist and then there are those that are making alot of us switch to Walgreens. By hurassing and judging, most won't go in for to be criticized . It is hard enough to take certain medications but last time a checked how is that a woman such a pharmacist can make that judgment?! And actually be okay with heeled knowing shes not a good person. You don't jusge, and also being a pharmacisr it isn't your job to point out flaws or belittle.or spread personal information or make a scene? Because of what you flagged or your fault . Maybe treated people respectfully no would be so scared to hear and some most hatr you. My you don't know or have damn clue what anyone has been through, so don't shame people. ignorant discipline to an employee on the sales floor
I was shopping, in the afternoon, during the week before Thanksgiving, when I heard yelling in an aisle. I proceeded to check it out and noticed a young lady getting yelled at, by what I appeared to be a manager. I thought the words he used were ignorant, rude and by any means shouldn't have been done on the sales floor. I went to the service desk to ask for the manager, so it was brought to their attention. I was surprised to find out that the manager who was called to help me, was indeed the person I saw yelling just earlier. In order to avoid a confrontation I just told him my question was answered before he arrived. I said thanks anyway and left the store.
I have worked a lot with managers and was one myself, for a period of time. I don't know how a "people person" could get away with speaking to an employee out in the open like that. Discipline needs to be done in an office, behind a closed door. I'm really now comfortable shopping here due to what I witnesses. I believe I will pass it on to my friends to. No one should have to deal with disciplinary action. It's not proper and should have been done in private.
I didn't get a name, but the manager was a Caucasian Male in his 40's, about 6ft tall if not taller, and medium build.

I went to the jewel in Merrionette Park and was gathering items for my thanksgiving dinner. I was looking for a pack of those small white and red plastic turkey Thermometers . I found two separate employees who told me to check isle 4. I still didn't see them and asked another employee who said he'd check with the mgr. he returned promptly and said isle 14 by the stuffing. I searched there for several minutes when I decided I'd had enough and went to the checkout lane. I asked the cashier if they could just send someone to get it because by that time I had wasted about half hour looking. They said the mgr went to go find it. Someone finally returned and said - ‘ were out of them'! I am beyond aggravated at this point and will consider shopping at Mariano's where they are much more helpful!
It seems like there was just a small series of mistakes. You may want to ask to be shown where something is in the future if you receive incorrect advice on your first attempt.

On 14 November 2017 I had taken my husband to have a chest x-ray done in Schaumburg. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. The doctor sent a prescription for him to our Osco Pharmacy in Elk Grove Village. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get to the Osco.
I left him in the car and ran into Osco. I spoke with the pharmacist Michael Vock to ask if the prescription had been filled yet. (This was my second trip within a 1 hour period to get a prescription for my husband and the same pharmacist Michael Vock was there earlier and gave me instructions, complete with attitude, on how my husband should take the meds).
Anyway, Michael Vock informed me that the prescription was not filled yet and I would have to wait like everyone else. I asked Michael Vock if it was possible to put a rush on filling the prescription, because I had my husband in the car. He stated no, that I would have to wait and I asked about how long it would be until the prescription was filled. He stated that I would have to wait at least 20 minutes.
With that I left the store to take my husband home. After getting my husband into the house and settled, which took some time, I then returned to Osco to retrieve the prescription.
Again, I had to deal with Michael Vock . This man is rude and condescending when giving instructions regarding the taking of medication. Granted my husband nor I had taken this prescription before, but there was no need for him to "talk down" to me. That is why he is the pharmacist, to explain how things work for those of us that are not familiar with medications!
This man has absolutely no compassion or people skills.
As I was leaving the store I saw 2 of the front end managers and they asked me if everything was ok. I told them of my awful experience with Michael Vock and that I certainly hoped that he would not be our new pharmacist. I was then informed that he was a "Floater" and that he had been quite rude to the front end manager when he came to retrieve the key to the pharmacy earlier in the day (but that's not my story to tell)
When a customer is dealing with an illness with a loved one they do not need someone to look down their nose at them as if they were superior. I certainly hope that you will reconsider sending Michael Vock back to the Osco pharmacy in Elk Grove Village!
Fortunately my husband and I are very healthy and have very few dealings with the pharmacy. In the past you had a wonderful man named Steve (who has since passed away) that was the manager at the Elk Grove pharmacy. Steve was wonderful and compassionate with the customers.
Perhaps it's time to send Michael Vock for some customer service skill training. I certainly hope that I never have to deal with him again, especially during such a stressful event.
Everyone at jelew needs ethics training. at about november of 2017 I was also a victim of psychological and emotional abuse at elk grove village jewel customer service manager who kicked me out of d line b/e I filled up d shopping cart n also had wick coupons due the same day for which they didnt know what it is about...instead of being happy so spends so much money in their store so I stayed in front of all of the big line asking cashier n d guy not busy 2 help me, d customer setvice lady let telling everyonr not to help me n I was w. several months baby with no vaccins when airconditioner is so high... so I was begging... a young cop came who tends to still target me when he see me n d meat guy... so I explained eth but all I wanted was 4 someone 2 show me what I need when nobody did just because they were ordered so even when they were not busy. the same lady said I should go all the way at the end of the line. the same guy was watching me from d ski place n I just was hoping that they stop the blond tall guy when he was taking pics of my child when they saw him.. but dont want to make them angry... then came black lady in d customer service she was nice for a while but their cashiers r not trained for d wick... but there was a very nasty abusive guy around beginning of coronovirus march of 2020 at the front standing who made me put away the box of bottles of waters and left me with only a baby water n he was ready to jump on me when people were grabbing waters... n d black lady was next to him n she was abusive to me.. I appologized n called them on d phone d same tgey b said thatvi was told I can taje a bany water n bottles of water.. he should let me. another lady abswered phone n said next time this happened, I should soeak w. d manager to approve.. but I just wonder when d black lady wad there who was like a manager, why she didnt interrupt the mean guy at tgis time when he started to get abusive n did not correct him that I can taje baby water n bottles but was having very abusive behavior to me. anyway, I stop taking wick n stopped going to jelew be they r too rude n they were always co fusedd what is on the wick coupons. one time a lady cane to me for a quart of milk n said u should take what it is on the wick coupon. I told her that's what u gave me last time... because they were always trying to downgrade what it is on the wick coupon n change it everyvtime to worse n worse food. good bye jelew n good buy rudeness

Not only is this man the most unprofessional I have ever, he's a horrible bully to any he deems below him . He speaks and acts unprofessional, cursing at workers and ordering them around like dogs and slaves . He needs to not only be reprimanded but the best thing for this is termination as it has been this way for the three years I have been shopping here . I thought Jewel was more dignified .

The register I was at froze as I was going to sign for my card so I had to go to another register to check out and I was double charged I was told I shouldn't be double charged An I was so I proceeded to call Jewel and they told me I had to wait and see if it's posted twice and then I had to wait and see if it re-issued a credit There was not a credit issued so I had to call customer service and have them issue a credit they told me it will take a Nother 72 hours before I will see a credit so I have to wait approximately a whole week before I get credited and all I get is t I'm sorry too long to wait for a credit I should be able to go to store n they should issue it right away very unhappy most of us live pay check to paycheck
