I have been charged with recurring subscription charges on my Singapore DBS credit card for a JustAnswer subscription I did not apply for. When I sought advice from the company for a refrigerator that had electrically shorted in November 2023 I was paying for the cost of one paragraph of advice. My credit card reflected this payment a few days later:
11 Nov JUSTANSWER *Experts 877-604-3160CA S$2.02
However a second charge appeared:
14 Nov JUSTANSWER *Experts 877-604-3160CA S$54.54
and a third charge appeared:
14 Dec JUSTANSER *Experts 877-604-3160CA S$54.54
I discovered online that many of JustAnswer's customers have been similarly misled to a free 3-day trial subscription that the customer has to cancel in order for it not to continue. The way this information was not made apparent when the customer submitted his credit card details for payment of the initial advice service indicates that JustAnwer's marketing practice is not quite honest and transparent. As such I am requesting a full refund of the two months of subsciption payments.
Claimed loss: S$54.54 x 2 = S$109.08
Desired outcome: Full refund for the two unauthorised credit card charges amounting to S$109.08.
