laquinta, port orange, fl - overcharge, dog feces in supposedly clean room, unprofessional
We booked 3 rooms at LaQuinta, Port Orange, FL through Booking.com. Upon check in, we were assigned to the "pet floor", without our knowing it was the "pet floor" and with no explanation whatsoever. One person was allergic, one room had animal feces present in THREE places in the room (Pictures attached). The occupants of the filthy room were granted a move to a new room, still on the "pet floor". The off and on yapping of the dogs was bad enough but the filth was just outrageous. The dog feces was seen by staff on Thursday night and when we complained at the front desk the next day, they confirmed that they were aware of the dog feces in the room. The housekeeping supervisor then came on the scene and questioned how long the room had been occupied before the occupants saw the filth and were moved. The answer was that they had been in there for about an hour or so before discovering the feces, the hotel and housekeeping supervisor then later seemed to question the veracity of the complaint, even though we had pictures. Someone apparently went in the room and scattered chicken pieces/skin where the dog poop had been, which someone in the hotel did to attempt to cover their mistake, and which the hotel flat out refuses to accept could have been done by any employee, leaving the only explanation that the guest did. What an insult! Questioning the character of the people occupying the room was beyond offensive. Someone tried to cover their mistake and put the blame on the guest. Outrageous!
· (continued from above) At the desk, the clerk agreed to make the first night free and adjust the bill on the second night, IF the owner allowed it. When I suggested that only people with pets should be put in those rooms I was told that we should NOT have been put there, but there was no offer to relocate to a non-pet area for the remaining night. The manager subsequently backpedaled on that statement during our phone call saying first that there were no other rooms available and then that pets stay in all the rooms. The desk clerk was supposed to call me the next day with the resolution; she did not. She was supposed to give our guests receipts when they left; she did not. I checked my credit card when I got home to find that the adjustment was minuscule on top of which they charged the hotel rate, NOT the booking.com rate. We called them yesterday to get it straightened out. In the course of the conversation, I was told they didn't know it was through booking.com? They charged their rates! I asked about the free night for Thursday that we had discussed and believed was completely warranted and I heard a male voice in the background saying "let them go to corporate". I asked who was speaking and was told it was the "owner" When I asked for the owner's name, I was told they would not give it to me. I could only know the manager's name and speak to her, even though she had no authority to override the mystery owner. To make matters worse, upon calling so-called "corporate" they would not receive the complaint because we had only paid for the room and were not the guest in the room littered with dog poop. When we tried to continue the conversation, the so called "customer care" individual hung up on us. I felt our integrity was questioned, our concerns dismissed and ultimately to say the whole debacle was not handled professionally is an understatement! NEVER AGAIN!

I stayed at laquinta inn at 4160 south frontage rd. Vicksburg ms # 53018. I was coming through a 28 day trip and stopped at this hotel to get a room . I told her i am a veterian and showed he my card she gave me my bill and when i got to the room i told my wife how high the bill was. My wife when back to the dest another women was behind the counter she gave us the right amount. I went later that afternoon to get a cup of coffee and this same women that get me the wrong price said i couldn't bring my service dog in that area. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and went to breakfest with my service dog and have never had a complaint. This women is the general manger. terrible cleaning and ac broken
Purchased room through Expedia. Front desk gave us a broken, uncleaned room. AC was broken, carpet was not vacuumed and pubic hairs all over sink, floor, toilet and bath tub. When we got our room we noticed a wet spot on ceiling above beds that looks to be mold now. For as much as we paid for one of these rooms im suprised yall dont go around and check them better then that. Other then that everything else is great but its really gross that there is mold in a room that im paying a lot of money to sleep in, and i have a baby.

We recently stayed at the La Quinta, in Fort Worth, 5800 Quebec ST, 5/17/19 thru 5/20/19
On the morning of the 18th I asked the maid in the hall to put toilet paper and more kleenex in our room, 421. She shook her head and said yes. We got back to our room
late that evening and our room had not been cleaned and we did not have toilet paper. I sent my husband down to the front desk for a roll. We left the hotel the next morning by 10:00am. We arrived back by 11:00pm and our room had not been cleaned again. I called the front desk and someone came up with toilet paper and towels. I have tried to contact the hotel and they have just blown me off. I expect some kind of compensation for the non service I received for 2 days.

My name is kelly mawson over the past 3 months ive stayed at a laquinta. Hotel onvriverside dr. In bakersfield ca. My stay started april 18, and had ended april 28. Ive moved aroubd a bit in the hotel. Probably 6 or 7 different rooms.. I checked back into the hitel on the 26 of april, went to the front desk to rebook the same room to be told im no longer accepted to stay at la quinta because one of the rooms i stayed in had bed bugs and i brought them there..The room in question was rented by others after myself...And also if i had bed bugs would i have not brought them to all the other rooms.The general manager was adoment to state the fact that i had the bed bugs..its funny ive stayed at other motels without this accusation being thrown at me...I dont have any idea why tbe general manager would come up with tbis conclusion...i would like to see some sort of paperwork orthat can confirm this ...and im trying to right tjis unjust slander with you before i contact a lawyer...i had already boojed the room and the room was rebooked at another faciluty...

We stayed at the Covington, GA LaQuinta June 1, 2019. It was a horrible experience and we will never stay at another LaQuinta. The room smelled of MOLD and MARIJUANA and we had kids with us. And, I am allergic to mold. This is simply wrong. The food was horrible. Kids didn't even like it. The price was extremely high considering the room... $165.00 for this.! Motel 6 is cleaner than your hotel..!
I would definitely like to ask for a refund. As a senior staying in a lot of hotels, I have never done this before, but, this room was unacceptable and the "Free Breakfast" was uneatable. We will never stay at another LaQuinta. We wanted to stay somewhere nice and were very disappointed.
After looking at the list of prior complaints, I am sorry I did not see this sooner. It is obvious LaQuinta does not take pride in their hotels.

room and charging my card
I went to the Secaucus La quinta on 5/16. It was on a corporate account, filthy room my sink was cracked and leaking water, the sink and tub wouldnt drain. They took a charge of $50 from my card for incidentals *they weren't suppose to) they returned it to my card the next day. After I left they charged my card $169.87. Again didnt authorize that still till this day waiting for refund. I will not use this hotel for any corporate status and have notified my company not to use them. duty rooms
This place need a massive make over duty toilets stained blankets stinking pillows housekeeping not doing their job right my room had a hair in the bathroom from previous guest no handicap rooms or bathrooms very much against the law a complained with the manager. But I need a extra day to stay just because my husband has Parkinson's and I didn't want him to go through and other place but my 2nd day I didn't have housekeeping cleaned my room because I left my personal pillows in the beds (I couldn't used the hotel ones the smell is so powerful) I had to go buy pillows. I decided to checkout and requested a refund. The manager refused after going back in forth finally he gave 50% witch I think I is wrong

My vehicle was broken into on the La aquinta property and the staff didn't even have the decency to inform me about the incident. I'm a regular guest at location all over the national but this experience has me questioning if I will book a room in the future. I'm expecting some sort of reimbursement since I left the hotel that day for an alternate location.

The same day I booked my hotel stay for 4 nights I received a call stating that the pool is not operable. I was told I could not cancel without being charged a cancellation fee. So when I arrived the checkout went smoothly. They were nice and friendly. I got to the room and it smelled horrible. Like mold and a dog. The fridge had mold and food stuck to it. The blinds had holes in them so the sun shined through. The beds were old. We went to sleep and in the morning when we went to shower the bathtub wouldn't drain. I had to go down and tell the front desk. The lady's at the front told me they would fix it but it would be a while. It was fixed late in the day. When we went to breakfast at the hotel it was 9 and I was told I got there late and that they were out of everything. This was after I made a bagel and asked for cream cheese. Then the lady come back with cream cheese after I ate a dry bagel with water down orange juice. The room was 90$ a night. This is not what I expected. The fitted sheet on my sons bed popped off and names with 69 were written on his mattress. It was disgusting! I am very disappointed and angry to have spent so much on a crappy room!
rude night manager employee
Hello, this was at the paso robles la quinta hotel. I stay there often and the night manager was so unprofessional and rude. His name was david. He looks so unprofessional to begin with. He just sits on the chair and plays video games. He was so rude to my wife and dis-respectful - very inapproiate, to say the least. Besides the fact that this was not the first time. I did file a complaint with the hotel manager victor popp; but he never got back with me so this is why i am going to corporate. I will never stay there again. I have been going there for 5 years now and time to move on. This is a very unfriendly hotel.

Well the night shift employee David refused to give us our room because they were pretty booked. He gave our room to someone else. And when we got home later in the week, we noticed he still charged our credit card. He was so arrogant and obnoxious to us. I could not believe it. We have stayed her often and the people in the daytime are usually nice. I have complained to the manager but to no avail. The manager obviously does not care because I told him I will never come back here if that Rude david is working there. He never even apologized to us. Never Again will I stay here.
hiking up the cost of room rate in flooded city.
Fort Smith, Arkansas has been devastated with flood waters. Many peoples home have been totally flooded and they have had to resort to staying in a hotel. My friend and her family stayed at your La Quinta on Sunday evening and now their rate has been hiked up by $30. Other hotels in this area are offering discounts and yours sees this as an opportunity to take advantage of those hurting. This is horrible!
unprofessional owner
First off let me say I am not staying at the hotel. I work in hotels and am neighbors with this location. Long story short I went in the other day to get ice, I explained the situation to the front desk they completely understood and did the neighborly thing and offered to let me get ice right then and one more time. You don't need to know this part but I asked to get ice due to my neighbor hitting a water line. While the city fixes it we only have water for 2 hours a day... The front desk was being very friendly to me their neighbor. However I came back for my second ice chest, which I had gotten permission to do. So I am getting ice and the Owner was there. I work in hotels and this is maybe the worst experience I've had, He made a scene in the lobby and said I had to pay $2 for I've, which would have been fine if that's what I was told from the beginning, However I just ran to get the ice so I didn't have my purse. He caused so much of a scene guests in the lobby came over to intervene and gave the owner $2 for me. Ridiculous! the owner took my hand forcibly and hard and would not let go until I told him if he doesn't let go it will be considered assault. Meanwhile while that's happening he still being very belligerent. he continued to yell as I ran out the door due to embarrassment and quite honestly fear. the guests that witness and overheard this ordeal were still confronting him as he's yelling at me.! To have this man associated with your brand is a bad thing. Maybe he was just having a bad day but it was unacceptable, all of it. Would like to hear back and I hope there's something I can do about it. On the hotel end.

I have already filed this complaint so I guess no one reads this. I stayed at the la Quinta in Anaheim, California earlier this month. The room was quite nice and perfectly clean. The only problem was the pillows. I tried several times asking for new ones that were not so hard and lumpy and at one point I was even told they were on they're way up but they never showed. And two nights in a row I was told that since the hotel was fully booked there were no more pillows. It was so uncomfortable that it deprived me of sleep diminishing the joy of this once in a life time vacation and caused me neck pain which I am now undergoing treatment for.
I'm not asking for financial restitution for my treatments, or even a refund for the room. But an apology for being lied to would be nice.
the room cleanliness
When we first arrived their were only three available parking spots, then when we got to our room their were 3 random guys standing in front of our door (so uncomfortable! ) and being loud.Then once we came in to the room it got even worse! One of the beds looked like someone just got out of it (un-made), trash on the floor, soap opened and used, hand towels unfolded and used, the two wall lamps in between the beds don't work . Feels disgusting just sitting on the bed! Can't wait to leave, feels unsafe and it's ruined our experience!
la quinta outrageous rate increase abilene texas
My wife, granddaughter and I always stay in the Laquinta Inn in Amarillo and Abilene Texas twice a year as we travel to our show exhibits for our business. Abilene on mothers day week end in May every year and the first weekend in November in Amarillo.
We always make reservations upon our departures for the next year when leaving each year.
We receive a conformation then, and twice during the course of the year we call and confirm again.
Our room rate (always 1 room with 2 beds) for 3 nights at each location is always reasonable at under $99.00 per night at each location.( printed online rate for this motel is $79.00 per night).
This year upon checking at the Abilene location on 5/9/19 we learned that our rate was increased to over 105% from last year or during the conformation calls.
Instead of paying the regular under $300.00 for the visit we had to pay over $670.00 for the 3 nights stay.

After the argument that we had reservations for over a year before for the room and the rate we were told that the Motel had sold and the new owners increased the rate, But we had the written conformation in hand to prove .
We were then informed that Abilene's " Big Day" was that weekend because of the large show that I attend, Mothers day week end and the fact that Abilene's 3 college's were in Graduation that week end.
We informed the clerk that we did know that and was a fact for many many years, and has been since we had been attending the show on that weekend for over 25 years.
Still with not a room available in Abilene we had to accept the increase or travel to another town for a room.
Also the fact is we are over 65 years old and have been constant customers of Laquinta for over 30 years, we also had from compliments of Laquinta to stay any 2 nights anytime anywhere Free, but the Laquinta in Abilene would not recognize that either so we paid the rate in cash as always of over $670.00 for the 3 nights in the "patch and fix Motel" that we always used but it was the last for us, for that kind of money I will treat my family to a nicer more upscale motel and for less money.
I am thru with them. Years of nice service then to catch people in a knowing predicament to do such a thing is not forgivable.
Although I do feel somewhat better, the room next to mine was occupied by a older gentleman and his wife to attend a great grandsons graduation and Laquinta gouged him for $251.00 per night for exactly the same furnished room as mine.
Thank you Laquinta for sticking it to the people that were loyal to your corporation.
Hampton in, Executive Suites and Holliday express looks even better and for lot less money.

did not honor our reservations
We booked a room for my parents to stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites PCB Pier Park location from 13-17 May, 2019. I advised on the reservation (made through Booking.com) that we would be checking in late, as we were driving up from Miami (a 10 hour drive for us). The room was for my parents. On the way, around 5 pm, we got a call from the hotel asking for a credit card to hold the reservation. I had provided this through Booking.com and was driving so I said I would call back in a few minutes, but we were definitely coming and to please hold the reservation. I told them we should arrive between 9-10 pm.
I phoned back shortly to let them know that I had used my Discover card and that to my knowledge one night had been charged with the rest due at the property. I told her (I presume the front desk attendant) the amount and what was still remaining. She said she would phone Booking.com to get the number and told me several times not to worry, that she would not cancel the reservation. About 15 minutes prior to our arrival (about 9:45 pm) we learned that my grandmother had passed away and we were eager to get to the hotel. We arrived and were told by "Latasha" that the manager, Mike Novak, had canceled the reservation around 7pm without notifying us and now the property was fully booked for the entire 4 nights they were to stay. There was no apology or concern and we were told there was nothing that could be done. We were left with no accommodation after a 10 hour drive and a death in the family without any concern from Latasha. She refused to give me the name of the person I had spoken with but gave me the number of her manager, Mr. Novak, who was not answering the phone. She did not give him a message but said I could call him. I phoned the next day to hear him affirm that he did cancel the reservation but had not checked the notes or asked the staff about this first. Apparently this and notifying the customer is "optional" and he chose not to. He said he would check into it and call me back that day. He did not. I phoned again, leaving another message, and he has not responded and this has been over a week now. Our family was understandably exhausted, livid and devastated and the way this situation was handled was horrible. It has ruined their stay and while we were eventually able to secure alternate accommodation, none of our family will ever choose LaQuinta again.
I am requesting the following: 1) A proper apology to both me and my parents and 2) If we were to ever consider staying at any LaQuinta again, some sort of compensation to get us through the door. The staff should be reprimanded for their lack of concern, empathy or desire/ability to find alternate suitable accommodation. Even if there was an issue between Booking.com and the property, I was told on numerous occasions, only hours before, that our reservations would not be canceled. In effect, we were lied to, without accountability.

We have been staying at this La Quinta for over 19 years. We've been renting the party room in numerous occasions. The last time I tried to rent it, the supervisor told us they no longer rented it. I went through the manager and he said they still did so I signed the contract. We were about to rent it again and we were told that they can no longer rent it to us because the last time we left a mess.
Let me be clear that we picked up all the trash and left it trash bags. We even threw most of them away. That night the front desk helper walked the room and said we were good to go. Now they are telling use that we are not allowed back. I feel very un wanted here at this hotel. I spoke to the manager Tammy and she doesn't even know because she wasn't even working here at the time. This has been our hotel for the past 19 years. We are never coming back.
