To Whom it May Concern,
My name is Hanna Faheem, and I am reaching out regarding a situation that took place at the Mavis store located on 442 Elizabeth Ave in Somerset, New Jersey on September 7, 2023. I brought my 2015 Honda Accord to have one tire changed, an oil change, an alignment, and struts replaced. I paid for $1,664.00 for these services (see receipt attached). After I received my car back, I noticed that a substantial amount of oil was leaking from my car and puddles of oil were left all over my driveway and parking lots. I took it back to Mavis in the beginning of December and they said everything looked fine. I proceeded to drive it, but continued to notice the oil leaking so I took it to another auto mechanic who confirmed that the oil pan had been cracked because the bolt to screwed on too tightly when the auto mechanic at Mavis reassembled my car after the oil change and other services had been done. When I addressed the matter with Mavis, they replaced the oil pan at no cost, which I appreciated. Soon after the oil pan was replaced, I noticed my car abruptly jolting to the right when I pressed on the brakes. Thebworsr happened when I was taking a jug handle when my car veered too far the right, almost crashing into the barrier. I was not near home when this happened, so I took my car to Pep Boys in Toms River, New Jersey, who did an alignment. I paid 117.48 (see receipt attached) for this alignment, but that did not resolve the issue as my car continued to jolt to the right when I pressed on the break. Being an hour away from home, I had to call AAA to tow my car back to Somerset, so that I could have the mechanic who had figured out the oil issue take a look at it (see AAA correspondence attached.) When he got the chance to examine the car, he noticed that bolts and screws were fastened in incorrect places, and even missing, which compromised the safety of the car (please see photos attached below). I trusted Mavis with my car, and in turn my safety and they took advantage and conducted work that lacked integrity, workmanship, and safe handling. Your employee’s negligence in servicing, repairing, and maintain my vehicle has caused me damages, including personal and consequential damages, as well as out of pocket costs. As your employees' negligence in servicing my vehicle, not once, but twice was the proximate cause of me almost giving into an accident and having to pay costs and damages to get my car fixed, I expect Mavis to reimburse me for these costs. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Hanna Faheem
Desired outcome: I expect Mavis to reimburse me for the costs.
