Menards Disappointed and upset

I purchased 2 cast iron railings. I wanted to order the bears, however David informed me it would take 2 weeks to get them. I told him I couldn't wait that long, because I have a 16' bridge in front of my house. It is unsafe to walk over and I have guests visiting all during the holiday weekend.

I asked about the moose and deer and he stated I would get it in time. I thanked David and purchased the two. I was excited to add this new feature to my new bridge.

I talked with my contractor and we were set for him to build it on the 30th.

I received the email that my order was ready to pick up on the 27th. Today I went to get them and to my dismay only one arrived. I asked about the second one and the gentleman went in the back to see when it would arrive. He stated it wouldn't be here for about another week or longer.

I told him had I known that I would have gotten the Bears, but I didn't order the bears because it was imperative for me to have the bridge done before the holiday weekend.

I had no choice but to cancel the order. The young lady working returns was very nice and tried to help me out, however she needed to someone to override the 25% charge. Michelle wouldn't look at me nor talk to me. She told the young lady I had to be charged, so I asked to speak to the manager Jeff. He too said I needed to be charged. He went on and on about how he had to find a place to store it. Then he told me how he would have to discount it so he could sell it. He spent a few minutes complaining to me about what he has to endure because the product did not show up.

Michelle told me I should have read the fine print that is what it is there for. Jeff told me it is an estimated time of delivery not the actual.

David assured me it would be here, otherwise I would have Never ordered it.

I paid $57 for restocking fees which I personally find unacceptable. Jeff discounted it to 10%, however he himself can cancel the one order.

When I told Jeff David should have explained if the product doesn't show up and I decide to cancel I would be charged the fee. Had I known that I would take responsibility. Jeff stated David cannot and does not have the time to be explaining that to every customer.

True customer service would explain that so that you maintain loyal customers.

Based on Jeff and Michelle's demeanor and tone I know they do not care. Michelle and all the employees follow suit of the manager and customer service is not their #1 priority.

Truly disappointing and I would appreciate it if you could and would refund the charge. I would have loved to have had the items that I purchased; however, it did not arrive. I cannot risk having the possibility of the kids playing on the bridge and someone getting hurt.

Anyone who has been around kids know when you state to keep away from something that is the thing they are drawn to.

Thank You for reading this and taking into consideration of my dilemma and situation and I truly hope you find in favor of me. I personally cannot afford to just give away that kind of money.

Menards Ultra deck inspire spanish cedar — delivered late and wrong color

We ordered for delivery... Deliver was anticipated 1 week.. 2.5 weeks later it was finally delivered... Upon inspection color was wrong... The listed color was correct, but when comparing to the sample/book and store display it was grossly wrong... Went back to the store to have issue fixed... They said they would contact manufacturer and inform... 3 days later still no info so I called and was told my purchase was reordered and scheduled for delivery 1 more week out (but not a guarantee)... When I asked them "what if? The new delivery color is the same as the current one?".. They did not have any answer... So here I sit waiting again... Now, if lucky it will deliver 4 weeks past when I originally ordered it and needed it... The communication or should I say lack of... Is in great need of improvement... As well as quality control on the products menards is offering... Look at the pictures and judge for yourself...

I asked for the replacement order to be rushed and was told that is not possible.. I do not understand that because it is coming from your eau claire wi distribution site to rochester mn?... This dispute is on going.. Will update on next delivery..

Desired outcome: ASKED FOR RUSH DELIVERY on product with correct color... or refund my entire order now, so i can order from a reputable supplier.

I placed an order with Menards on May 19th 2023 order # Pete29766

It had been promised for June 19th, i have checked the status if my order multiple times and i always get the same BS answer, they are checking on it and will advise as more info is available - wtf kind if customer service answer is that, this is holding up a multi thousand dollar project and i cant get any answers, i would cancel the order but Menards has got me so far behind i cant recover

Menards 11% rebate

This 11% rebate is scam. All Menards is doing is making money on the consumer. To have to submit a special form and mail it in yourself for a rebate that can only be used at Menards is nothing but a joke. If I would have known this. I would have not went there to make my purchase. They do not clearly state that this rebate can only be used for in store product purchases. I don't normally shop there but maybe once every few years. I will use the rebate but I will never shop there again just because of this rebate scam. I'm also letting everyone else I know about this rebate scam. This dis nor save me any money at all, in fact it's costing me money since I have to travel over 45 minutes to get to a Menards store. Thank you Menard for costing me more money when you were supposed to be saving me money. I won't fall for this again.

Desired outcome: To make their rebate very clear and not just in the small tiny print that no one can read. I would this rebate in a form of a Visa gift card that can be used anywhere.

Menards Poor Mask Compliance and Customer Service at Menards in Effingham, IL

I recently visited Menards in Effingham, Il to help my parents load some drywall. I noticed that none of the employees were wearing masks properly, some had them on their necks or barely covering their mouths, and definitely not covering their noses. As a resident of a small town where masks are not commonly worn, I didn't think much of it and didn't wear a mask myself.

When we went to check out, the cashier was super nice and cracking jokes until a lady came up and asked if I had a mask. I said no, and then she said something, but I couldn't hear her due to her mask. I asked her what she said, but still couldn't understand her. I said no thank you, and she threw a big fit and turned back to the other two girls, one of whom was behind the counter by the exit doors. She demanded that the cashier not proceed to check us out because I wasn't wearing a mask. They held my parents' stuff hostage, even though I wasn't buying anything and was just there to help load the drywall. I was in my own car, so why would they hold their stuff hostage if they had a problem with me not wearing a mask? It didn't make sense to me.

I had to leave in order for my parents to get their items. The logic of the situation wasn't there because they let kids not wear masks who can get "Covid" and have their employees not wear them properly. The way those three girls, who I'm sure were "supervisors," acted was like the Nazi police. They lost me and my family as customers because of their snobby behavior instead of nicely asking me to leave. It's a shame because I used to enjoy shopping at Menards, but now I won't be going back.

Menards Menards: Poor Quality Products and Customer Service - A Review

I recently bought the Dimplex DS5629GB electric heater/stove from Menards online and it was a great deal (or so I thought). Unfortunately, the closest Menards store did not carry the stove at the time. When I received the stove, I noticed some structural and cosmetic issues. There was light showing on the wall behind the unit near the bottom, which seemed to be due to the heater assembly cover not being flush with the underside of the stove. Additionally, the glossy black finish was compromised with scuff marks on the top! I contacted Dimplex and they advised me to return it to the store. I reached out to Menards online and they told me to contact the store for an exchange or return. I did so and exchanged the stove, but when I got home and unpacked it, I noticed serious damage to one corner! What is Menards selling people? Damaged products? YES, THEY ARE!

I went back to the store and returned the first stove. The personnel were nice enough, but I did call the store once to see if they had one of these stoves in stock and that didn't go over well either. The employee said, "I am downstairs and I would have to go all the way upstairs to see..." Wouldn't that be her job to go? I don't need her to tell me that it would be a burden for her! In the end, I drove three 70-mile round trips, which probably increased the total price. Not a good deal after all.

Several years ago, I bought some material at Menards when they offered 11% off, thinking I would save money. However, the 11% is only a coupon or check that is only good at Menards. That should have stopped me from going back, but...NEVER again!

Despite all of this, I gave Menards two stars because the heater works nicely. However, I would not recommend buying from Menards online or in-store due to the poor quality of their products and customer service.

Menards Menards Customer Service: Institutional Indifference and Unresponsiveness

Menards customer service is not up to par. They seem to be indifferent, unresponsive, and unskilled. I have searched the internet and read other reviews of Menards, which are unfavorable, and now I can support and add my views and experience. Frankly, my voice will be merely one from the chorus. BBB reviewed Menards, and Menards earned an F from BBB with this prevalent comment: "The business responded to the dispute but failed to make a good faith effort to resolve it."

I would summarize their service or lack thereof as "institutional indifference" combined with a lack of familiarity with products and service. The staff of Menards hardware, Hardware Associate Buyer, Menard, Inc., as well as Menards "guest services," is unwilling or unable to write a reply to written requests, form a response, or simply acknowledge a written contact in a business-like fashion. They seem to be indifferent and simply unresponsive, either intentionally or innocently.

My dispute with Menards is trying to get what I paid for. The product was shorted on contents, and not all parts and pieces were included in my shelving unit. I started trying to get replacements 10 days ago, but the supplier was and is the wrong supplier Menards referred me to, and Menards has not answered me at all despite cc of 14 email exchanges with the wrong supplier and two hard copy letters to Eau Claire corporate offices.

"Save Big Money at Menards" is because they don't spend it on service representatives or customer service. It seems like they don't care about their customers, and they are not willing to help them out. I'm a simple customer with a simple problem that Menards has botched so badly that Menards' picture should be next to the Urban Dictionary definition of FUBAR.

Menards Disappointing Experience with Menards Truss Order: Faulty Products and Lack of Compensation

I recently made a purchase from Menards, ordering 22 trusses that were supposed to be delivered on 04/08/22. When the delivery truck arrived, I was ready with all the necessary equipment to unload and set the trusses. However, upon inspection, I noticed that several of the trusses were bad and not the length I had ordered, with incorrect overhangs. Despite these mistakes, I managed to correct them and make things work.

Unfortunately, I also discovered that 9 of the trusses had bad wood, which meant I had to shore them up and build rafters for stability. I went to Menards to see if they would compensate me for their error, but their suggestion was to send the trusses back and wait for replacements. This was not a feasible solution for me, as I had already paid for labor and rented an aerial lift for the project, which was planned to be completed in one evening with everything on site.

I was disappointed by Menards' lack of concern and their unwillingness to take responsibility for their faulty product. Instead, they fell back on warranty fine print, which did not address the immediate issue at hand. As a customer, I expected more from a company that prides itself on quality products and service.

If you plan on ordering trusses from Menards, I highly recommend checking every single one before the driver leaves. It's better to catch any mistakes or defects early on, rather than having to deal with them later on. As for me, I have decided not to spend my money at Menards again. While I was not asking for a complete refund or cash payment, I would have appreciated an in-store credit or some form of compensation for the inconvenience and extra work I had to put in.

Overall, my experience with Menards was disappointing and frustrating. As a customer, I expect companies to take responsibility for their mistakes and make things right. Unfortunately, Menards fell short in this regard, and I cannot recommend them to others based on my experience.

Menards Terrible Experience at Menards in Ballwin, MO: Missing $700 Item and Poor Customer Service

My experience at Menards in Ballwin, MO was absolutely terrible. I placed an online order for nearly $3000, split into three groups. After a week, I received an email saying that one of my orders was ready for pickup. Since I didn't have a truck, I called the store to ask if I could wait until all my orders were ready to pick them up at the same time. The representative on the phone said it was okay, so I waited.

The following week, I decided to start my project early and borrowed a friend's cargo van to pick up my order. When I got to the online order pickup department, the person there told me that one of my items worth $700 had been picked up three days ago. When I asked who picked it up, he couldn't give me a straight answer. Can you believe it? Someone else had been given my $700 item plus tax!

I waited for more than 45 minutes to figure out what had happened to my item. They finally came back and said, "Sorry sir, we don't know where your item is that you paid for." I asked to speak to the store manager, and Mr. Hudson came and started apologizing. I asked him to cancel my entire order with a full refund, which he did except for the missing item. He said he needed a few minutes to find out what happened with my order.

After a few minutes, he came back and issued me a $700 refund. When I asked for an explanation, he just said that mistakes happen. I had waited for weeks, and all he could say was that mistakes happen? I appreciate him helping me with my order cancellation, but I have decided never to shop at Menards again and to share my experience with everyone.

Menards Disappointing Experience with Menards: Flawed Countertops and Poor Customer Service

So, we recently had our kitchen countertop replacements installed and unfortunately, they were flawed. We had to return them to Menards in West Bend WI. The process of returning them was not smooth at all. We were told that the refund would only be issued in the form of Menards In The Store Credit, which was not what we were expecting. We were also told that we did not return the flawed countertops within 90 days, which was not our fault.

The delays in the process were due to the fact that the flawed countertop was reordered and the new countertop came in with the wrong end caps. The store had to reorder a corrected order, which caused another delay in our installation. The pick-up date for the flawed countertops was also delayed due to the availability of the store to pick them up at our home. Our installer also had his own schedule, which was filled with other customers, so we had to wait for an installation date. All of these delays made it impossible for us to return the flawed countertops within the 90-day period.

We were disappointed with the way Menards handled the situation. We felt like we were "JUST" customers and nothing more. We received no compensation for the delays and inconvenience caused by the flawed countertops. When we filed a complaint, we were only able to communicate through emails, which made the process even more frustrating. We felt like our complaints were going in circles and we were not getting anywhere.

The only person who was able to help us was the store manager, Mgr Shane. He was very nice, but he could only do so much for us. He gave us the Menards in the store credit, but we had to pay off our credit card on our own. Overall, the whole process was a big mess and we were very disappointed with Menards.

We would advise anyone who is considering purchasing from Menards to be cautious and aware of the potential issues that may arise. It's important to keep in mind that Menards will find a way to come out ahead, even if it means inconveniencing their customers. So, buyer beware!

Menards Menards Delivery Service: A Nightmare Experience with Property Damage and Poor Customer Service

I recently had a terrible experience with Menards delivery service. The delivery driver left two heavy pallets, weighing a total of 5,800 pounds, on my new driveway without my consent. When I asked him to move them onto the grass, he used the hydraulic legs of his forklift and ended up breaking my driveway. I was shocked and upset, but when I contacted Menards Delivery Company, they told me that they had insurance but refused to use it to fix my driveway. The owner of the company even told me that it was my responsibility because I had signed a contract agreeing that Menards Delivery driver could damage my property. He suggested that I use Epoxy glue to fix it.

I decided to reach out to the top managers at the Anderson (IN) Menards store, Keith C and Josh B, hoping for some help. However, they were not very helpful and seemed to be trying to avoid my calls. They told me that the delivery company had insurance and that I should contact them, but they didn't seem to understand that the owner of the delivery company had refused to use their insurance. I even submitted two estimates for property damage, but they still didn't want to help me. To make matters worse, both managers told me that the delivery company employees didn't belong to Menards, even though it was Menards that had hired them in the first place!

To add insult to injury, the delivery driver who broke my driveway looked like a vagrant. He was wearing a dirty, sleeveless t-shirt, had a long, dirty beard, and was smoking a cigarette the whole time. I paid $92 for the delivery, plus $4.50 in stocking fees, and ended up with a broken driveway. It was a terrible experience, and I would caution anyone thinking of shopping at Menards to think twice. While they may save you money, their delivery service is not worth the risk.

Menards Disappointing Customer Service Experience at Menards: Refusal to Stand Behind Product

I recently bought a dog bed from Menards, and I must say, I was pretty excited about it. It was a nice, thick, and expensive bed that I thought would be perfect for my furry friend. I paid around $50 for it, which was a bit more than I usually spend, but I figured it was worth it. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I went to wash it for the third time and the seams just fell apart. I was shocked and frustrated, but I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to return it since it was still on their website and they still sold it.

Boy, was I wrong. When I went to the service desk, the girls there looked at me like I was crazy. They called over a manager named Curtis, who was just as unhelpful. I explained the situation to him, but he refused to do anything without a receipt. I paid cash for the bed and didn't save the receipt because, well, it's a dog bed. I didn't think I would need it. But Curtis didn't care. He said he couldn't do anything without a receipt, even though the bed was still being sold in the store.

I was getting frustrated, and Curtis was getting power-hungry. He started talking down to me and getting aggressive. I couldn't believe it. All I wanted was for them to stand behind their product and make it right. But Curtis refused. He even lied to me, saying that John Menards was the only man above him. I knew he was lying because I had asked a girl at the register, and she said his boss's name was Kevin. Curtis was just being difficult for no reason.

I was so angry that I told Curtis he just lost a customer. I spend a lot of money at Menards, and I always pay in cash. But after this experience, I don't think I'll be going back. Menards should stand behind their products and treat their customers with respect. Curtis was a little power-crazy Nazi [censored], and I won't stand for it. Menards, you just lost a loyal customer.

Menards Unprofessional and Harassing Behavior at Menards in Fridley, Minnesota

On September 16, 2020, I visited Menards in Fridley, Minnesota with my son. We both had masks on, but I had to take mine down for a moment to catch my breath. There were no customers or employees around me at the time, but one female employee saw me without my mask and demanded that I put it back on. I told her that I would put it back on after I caught my breath, but she didn't listen and demanded it again. She was yelling at me, which was completely unprofessional.

I was so upset by the way she was talking to me that I asked her what she was going to do about it. She called management, and as I was walking towards the front door, I had at least five employees coming at me from different directions. It felt like I was being attacked by demons because of how they acted. I explained to the manager that I had trouble breathing in the mask and decided to pull it down for a few seconds to catch my breath, but he didn't care. He told me that his store can make up their own rules, and I told him that I would never spend another dime in his store.

I am an HVAC in the company I work for, and I spend a lot of money at Menards. However, after this experience, I will no longer do that. I live right next door to the store, and I do a lot of home repairs, but I will never spend any more money there. I have spent a lot of money in that store in the 10 years that I've lived here, but I will not be returning.

This experience should be a massive lawsuit for harassing customers and shaming them over a mask that doesn't even work and has been proven to be ineffective. It is unacceptable for employees to treat customers in this way, and I hope that Menards takes action to prevent this from happening in the future.

Menards Menards Review: Poor Customer Service and Ridiculous Policies

unlike Menards. I have had multiple bad experiences with Menards, from their poor customer service to their ridiculous policies. It's a shame because they do have some good deals, but it's just not worth the hassle.

One time, I went to Menards to buy some paint for my living room. I found the perfect color and brought it home, only to realize that it was the wrong finish. I went back to Menards to exchange it, but they refused to do so because I had opened the can. They said it was their policy and there was nothing they could do. I ended up having to buy a whole new can of paint from another store.

Another time, I needed to buy some lumber for a DIY project. I went to Menards because they had a good sale going on. I loaded up my cart with everything I needed and went to check out. The cashier rang everything up and told me the total was over $500. I was shocked because I had only expected to spend around $300. When I asked her to double-check, she realized that she had accidentally scanned some items twice. She fixed the mistake, but it was a huge inconvenience and a waste of time.

Overall, I would not recommend shopping at Menards. Their policies are ridiculous and their customer service is lacking. If you want a good shopping experience, go to Lowes or Home Depot. Yes, you may pay a little more, but it's worth it for the peace of mind and the quality service.

Very seldom can I get a power cart to shop with when I go, so most of the time I have to go wait in the car while my wife does the shopping because I cannot walk that large floor. Menards Shipping charges

Good afternoon! We ordered siding last year. We finally got it installed last week, due to having to wait for our windows to arrive and be installed. We had to order one other mounting block on 05/14/23. We had overlooked this when we ordered the other blocks last year. I have pictures attached of the label and box that we received the part in. I tried to scan the receipt to attach that as well, but your system won't allow me to attach a PDF file. If needed, I can have my husband take a picture with his phone and send that. The numbers at the bottom of the receipt are: [protected]/14/23 03:32PM 3016

The mounting block that we ordered on 05/14/23 was $7.99. However, the shipping charges were $19.95. I felt at the time that we ordered the mounting block that those charges were ridiculously high, but we did not realize the shipping charges until after we were at home. When we received the box, I certainly remember thinking that I certainly hoped that Menards had better bargaining skills for shipping charges so that it actually DID NOT COST $19.95 for shipping for this one part.

I am not sure if you are able to issue a credit to our account to refund a portion of the shipping charges - but I would think that would be pretty awesome if you would.

Menards Gas powered gas trimmer

I purchased a troy bilt gas powered trimmer, 5/28/23. Opened the box assembled the trimmer, added the fuel, oil mixture . went to start the trimmer nothing. Would not start at all. Went to return it and because it is gas they wil not take it back. I have to pay for it to be repaired before they will return it. Omg why should I pay to have it repaired for them to take it back. I wasted over 100. 00 to be told yes you have to pay to have us refund your money. Never again will I buy any kind of power tool from any store with out looking at their return policy and reading their reviews.

Menards On line order ready for pick up sold to someone else

Order [protected] order [protected] I crossed the bridge and waited a long time in line pay 10.00 toll to show up to port huron store to find out with email inhand order is ready for pickup was sold to someone else why would it be available if already pd for. The website should update right after it is purcahsed to new amt available. I wasted alot of my valuable time and cost me money in tolls this is the worst customer service I should be compensated for out of pocket cost and my wasted time. I am not very happy at all got the run around

Menards Complaint

In march we ordered a countertop from the baxter menards paid for a template. The girl putting in the information put it in wrong and we ended up ordering a sencond template which we pay for each one after another week of waiting the order got messed up, menard people failed to call back and I ended up in the store waiting at least an hour until it was fixed. Counter top showed up a week later. Our contractor that menards recommends picked it up installed it even after he knew there was a mistake and found out the counter was an inch off. We got reimbursed a small amount but nothing what it cost us to fix the mistake by cutting and fixing the edges. A week later we needed to return a microwave and brought to customer service with other returns, I handed her my card to return the microwave to. When we returned home found out she out it on a store credit when I returned the next morning with my receipt the manager on duty would not put it back on my card because it was a day later than I returned.
