fraud
Hmm no wonder they're called Monster. I would put the S at the end of this word.
They will be nice to you at first. Of course, they want to get your money and will do anything for that. But once you paid, forget about them. They will simply disappear. And when you need their help you will never find them.
I have never experienced anything like this. They have the worst customer service among similar websites and make you spend money on nothing.
Please, stay away.
selling your info to scammers
Posted my resume on Monster, and within 24 hours I started recieving fake calls from IRS scammers, found money scammers, police official scammers, realestate rent to own scammers. These people have no right to sell your information to the [censor] of the earth. To hell with monster.com a failing service that screws its users to pad the bottom line. Time to go back to Dice, Indeed, ZipRecruter and the rest who have taken over the market.

paid service scams monster.com
hi
I am an employer and was looking for an php developer.
I have taken a paid service from monster earlier but got not much response. The service costed us 2300 Rs.
Then when the service period got over after few days one of sales executive (Mr Mohan : [protected], A.[protected]@monsterindia.com )
called us and was asking to retake the service.
Even after our multiple rejection he kept on calling us, He followed up for almost two months.
He used to call us twice on daily basis.
Then on one odd day he promised that after we take the service he personally would send 5 most relevant resumes per week. Finally we took the service and paid 2300 Rs once again.
He was ready to do anything to convinced us to take the service.
After we made the payment, he stopped calling us and he stopped picking up our calls.
We dropped multiple messages as well but no response received.
Is monster making everyone fool just to make money.
Is monster running scammers. Is this how monster works.
Feel like cheated big time. Please ask monster to return the amount asap. We do not want monster fraudulent services at all.
I was promised that my Resume will be more visible to the HR and also on the linkdin but nothing such happened, I ended up paying amount for no use. please dont the service at any cost.

I got a fake call from a guy name Manoj Kumar Yadav saying that he's from monster.com and offered me a job in wipro, then asked me to deposit 2200rs as a registration fee to he's account and then took my interview in the name of wipro and said that I successfully cleared it and asked to deposit another 6200rs as a training fees in wipro on the same account.

sales calls
Ever since I've posted my CV and created a profile on monster.com, I have been receiving more calls and sms on sales. Also, I have been receiving more insurance, financial planning and subscriptions promotion calls.
This site simply gives me a sick feeling that security is too loose or they are selling my profile and information/CV to other parties who then sell them off to 3rd parties for whatever purposes they need it for.

salary
I would like a way to filter my job search by salary and qualifications. I have a B.A. and keep finding jobs for $10, 000 to $150, 000 per year. I'm not accepting a job for less than $30, 000 with benefits and bonus commissions or $40, 000 without and I don't have a masters so why am I even seeing these $150, 000/year minimum required masters offers?
product purchased
I had purchased a resume preparation package product based on the sales pitch through telephone. After the purchase I realised that the quality of the resume was very poor. Inspite of 3 drafts being received it was no where near to the quality which was promised to me on the phone. The pricing would have been far lower if I had purchased the product in Indian rupees. Instead, they convinced me to purchase in USD as it was supposed to be a superior quality product. I realised that they just do not have the quality personnel who can understand the aspects of my job to prepare a good quality resume as promised to me while selling this product. I have sent several emails but there has been no response as regards refund or to provide a quality resume.
I can't get my $ back! They charged me $199.75 ( $39.95 for 5 months). I'm a small business owner and have always believed I was resourceful and reasonably intelligent but I did not see this coming ! I never used their form, never expected a monthly charge. This Company is very good, #1 when it comes to rip-offs !
Any advice to get my money back ?
stale data is spam and misleading
When I receive email from monster.com that starts with the greeting: "Great news! We found new jobs that match your criteria" and I discover that once again the monster search engines have sent me jobs that I am NOT interested in, NOT in my field, or that I am NOT qualified for technically. These emails then could be considered spam and I would report them, block them and spread the word that monster is spamming.

We are an advertising agency and we bought a 100 Job Slot contract with YAHOO HOTJOBS in December, 2010.
Now Monster bought HOTJOBS and merged the site into one- MONSTER.
My client does not want to use MONSTER
because it does not bring them the candidtes they desire.
I wrote/spoke with the Agency Relations Team at Monster and they ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING...WOULD NOT CANCEL THE CONTRACT.
Now I didn't buy the contract with MONSTER, I bought it with HOTJOBS which no longer exists. Therefore the contract is NOT valid...
The Agency Relations Team has no interest in anything I say...they just want to go forward and keep the contract in place against my and my client's wishes...
HELP ME RESOLVE THIS...
I already understand that Monster is difficult to work with and this certainly proves the point.
they do not follow up or contact you if they are not getting money from you for website services
Awful site do not use it. Job listing are for wrong town or area where you do not live. Site hard to use or navagate. Does not let you post job info from your resume or contacts as you wish or in a list. They want money for any help the offer. They do not follow up or contact you if they are not getting money from you for website services. Not worth it.
monster has a great name but if their search and usability keeps getting compromised for ad dollars they will lose users
I have not used them in a few years but they used to be easy and fast and have a ton of jobs. Now i tried them again and the site is a mess. Their are ad pages that ask for information that look like job forms inserted between job search functions in a way that is not clear it is an ad.
The usability is off and the functions dont make sense. Monster has a great name but if their search and usability keeps getting compromised for ad dollars they will lose users.
It is is clear that their are too many people involved in the sites look and functions and their is no plan or guidelines on how things should work and be uniform in search usability.
invoice before you get service
I try to post an advert on monster.com. As I try to fill in the details on jobs and other data, then it comes with a message about "Region" which means I cannot continue and complete the whole process. Try and call Monster.COm hotline and no one answer. Then have to go to Reeds.com. few days later, Monster.com called and ask I have not post, which I explain the problem. Then they still insist I pay for the post which was never done.
Unlike Reeds.com, where they charge you after a succesful post, Monster.com charge you upfront irrelevant of what happened. Despite explaining to several member of Monster.com team and explain my problem, it seems it like I am talking to a machine as they refuse to accept and now threaten to take legal action.
£113 is not a great deal of money, just I feel I am a "Sucker" if I pay.

fake jobs - scam
I have been out of work for over two months now and am at the end of my rope regarding these so called online job boards. I've applied for hundreds of jobs using this "service" and not received one call for an interview. I understand we're in a recession, but that should affect the number of jobs listed on the site. It does seem like slim pickings, but...

Monster.com tried to develop the 'new monster'. However, it's been a mess for months and the executive team is cashing free paychecks. All this while your desperately trying to find work. AND, during the hardest times people need to find a job the most, the executives don't give a rats ### about weather you loose out on jobs.
Monster keeps selling SELLING it's services to companies as the best- even though it's worse than hotjobs.com. Monster charges more than anyone else, while selling the new and IMPROVED Monster. However, the job board IS THE WORST JOB BOARD EVER AND THE MOST EXPENSIVE.
Jobs do not come up that employers post. You cannot do a nationwide search. You type in your city and it only pulls up jobs in your city, even if you put 200 miles out you will not see those jobs. You have to type in EVERY LITTLE CITY in any area to find a job.
I've eMailed Monster Executives soo many times. I'm not getting paid to fix their job boards. However, looks like Jame Broadbent is getting free money - he does not even take the time to test his own product. He has no clue about the problems with his own company job board. However, a friend says he's making some big bucks and taking some very long lunches with several vacations.
BOY COT MONSTER. DON'T POST YOUR JOBS - IT WILL BE A HUGE WAIST OF COMPANY MONEY. THEY BECAME BIG FROM US AND WE CAN STOP USING THEM TOO. THEY DON'T CARE WEATHER YOU FIND AN IMPORTANT JOB OR NOT. IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY AND SPENDING IT BIG TIME.
DON'T POST JOBS ON MONSTER. THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. YOU CANNOT FIND THE JOBS YOU WANT.
I gave them every opportunity for months to fix their problems and still not done. They took down the Refresh button and a recruiter stated that James lied about the service was causing problems for recruiters! HOWEVER, WE ALL LOVED THE REFRESH BUTTON AND IT WAS THEIR ONLY GOOD PART OF SERVICE.
MONSTER WILL WORK AGAINST YOU FROM FINDING A JOB!

I had taken a package of Monster.com for resume development and forwarding to consultants for getting a job They charged 4000 Rs. and promised to develop resume within 5 working days. Now 20 days had passed and there is no response. I contacted them on phone but no response.

terrible experience
I know a lot of people have said good things about monster.com over the years. I am the dissenting opinion that this website allows too many scam artists, con men, fraudulent colleges which offer degree mills and doesn't make the effort to delete these websites from their website. It is simply a case of buyer beware when it comes to dealing with job posters.
I am a member of monster.com since September and am a recent college graduate. I applied for jobs on this website, preferably within the vicinity of my neighborhood. During the month of October, I received a call back from a company called 'Ad Hoc Advertisement' and another called 'O' Rourke Advertising, ' if either has checked this website they can find out these companies are not what they claim to be and were conducting borderline legal scams. In Ad Hoc's case, they will tell they are an 'aggressive advertising company' that has worked with 'Papa John's' and 'the Oakland A's.' When, in fact, they are selling Winnie the Pooh Encyclopedias titled 'Pooh-Pedias' and door-to-door canvassing selling home improvement.
If a company is as successful as they claim to be, what the f**k are they doing selling Pooh-Pedias for? I also received an unsolicited e-mail from some guy named 'Bryan' telling me about some work-at-home scam, and just this week, I received another phone call from a lady pitching me the idea of an anti-wrinkle cream which 'annihilates aging forever'! All I have to do is go on their website www.thebesttrend.com and listen to a 30-minute pitch and I will have to work again!
I have received, in one morning, six--yes, six, calls from a fraudulent degree mill. I never solicited their offers so they got my info from monster.com. Its time monster.com start coming to terms with their website because people will eventually smell the fraudulent postings, the degree mills, and the scams and stop trusting this website as a source for their careers.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Absolutely! All I get from having used this board is offers to go back to school. My Masters Degree isn't working for me now, why would I need another one?!? Is there anywhere to go where there are REAL jobs posted for people to apply? It seems every where on the net is filled with fake jobs only meant to get you to go back to school, or get insurance, or refinance your mortgage. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE!
bogus credit checks
I am very disappointed in AMSCOT's credit check system. They are turning qualified people down due to bad credit. A machine does not know anything about my credit worthiness. I was laid off my job and hire back for less wages. That is how my credit was ruined. I am not writing bad checks. I worked for a large financial Institution (No name mentioned). I wa...

Dear Monster,
I am a job seek and a registered candidate at Monster.com.hk, I am looking for job of a secretary position, I am now using a fake name to send this complaint.
I would like to make a formal complaint about the ads in www.monster.com.hk for those insurance companies and those financial planning companies.
Firstly, their job ads almost are filling in all categories of "banking and finance", "sales and marketing", "secretaries and administration", which I have to waste a lot of time to distinguish them after I hit the job search for a secretary vacancy.
Secondly, they sometimes posted fake ads and cheated me to go to their job interview, e.g. they said they are hiring secretary or administration assistant but in fact they were hiring insurance agents or financial planners.
I have actually attended two job interviews because of their ads and their interview calls. I would like to give you two sample links here for your reference.
1. http://jobs.monster.com.hk/details/4924733.html?sig=js-5-8a859ec8b65ff2e7f98c4fca0c9eeac5-1
2. http://jobs.monster.com.hk/details/5389895.html?sig=js-5-4bce79966908ac2f21fcd2bf140b1802-1
3. http://jobsearch.monster.com.hk/searchresult.html
(please type in "secretary" or "assistant" and see what you can get..., those ads are almost all from insurance companies, I don't mind if they are really hiring secretaries, but they are hiring insurance in reality)
Thank you for attention.
I think monster is being ran by the country India. I sent two resumes to two totally different companies and I was contacted by a Indian woman with a extremely thick accent. The 2nd job response was from the same woman leaving the exact same number as the first. Don't use this website it's a complete scam.
Monster.com
This is one of the worse job sites I have used. The do not respond back and send you job listing in the wrong service, town or local areas. Website hard to navigate or post information on. Do not use.
this job site stinks
I need to vent about how AWFUL Monster.com is, and ...you can't post on their forums without paying. I wouldn't PAY to belong to that stinking site for ANY. THING.
Not only do I get daily job alerts, which.. is the idea -- but they SAY that there are new jobs on each alert, but when you log in and check them -- it says "No jobs posted for that alert" == thank you for wasting my time, Monster. com idiots. I guess you gotta PAY to NOT get sent false alerts, huh?
On top of that -- you can't click back anywhere -- it just comes up again. As a prof. web designer, lemme just tell you what HACKS you look like, Monster. com with your cheap little "fake advertising clicks" techniques. Eat me, Monster. com
