Lost sample
My son was tested during his 12 mont check up and we were told that his hemoglobin levels were low. We had to take him to get blood drawn twice because they couldn't find the vein on their first attempt, the second attempt left him incredibly bruised but was successful. I called to get results from my doctor, who told us that the lab lost two of the three samples and they would need to draw blood from him AGAIN! When I received a call from the supervisor, she attempted to lie, telling me that the samples were inconclusive. She later admitted to the lab "misplacing" the samples. We are going back today to have do yet another blood draw, for which my husband has to leave work for. Completely frustrated and feeling terrible for having to torture my baby again!
billing charge that I have no record of from quest diagnostics lab
Received a collection notice dated 03/1/1/16 addressed to someone other than me who doesn't live at my address. Called and spoke with Jacob an he refused to speak w/me because letter wasn't addressed to me, but my name is listed on the bottom of the bill. Requested to speak with manager Josh came on and was extremely rude and unprofessional, he also refuse to discuss account with me. Date of service is 01/27/14 acct# [protected] id# C7428149. I had at the time and still have full benefits with Aetna, and I've never received a explanation of benefits to reflect bogus charge. I would appreciate this charge written off and a letter sent to my attention reflecting write odd, and zero balance. I appreciate you assistance in this matter.

unable to contact real person
My husband had a drug test done for a new job. After returning home (an hour away) he was unable to find his driver's license. I have called every published number for the office and have been completely unable to talk to a person. I am directed through endless automated menus and never reach a person. Once it said it was going to connect me to a person and...

My wife had her wellness screening done on Dec 23rd 2015. Quest diagnostics never sent the results in to my insurance company. I'm getting the run around and as a result my medical premiums will be higher. To whom do I complain about this ? Searching the internet didn't yield anything.

I don't normally vent online, but I cannot comprehend how 3 lab tests that my Doctor ordered, billed to a code, my insurance company would not accept, will cost us over $1, 000 from Quest Diagnostics. But had they been billed to a code accepted by our insurance company would have only cost the insurance company $166 (covered 100%). I cannot wrap my head around the discrepancy. Even the employees cannot provide a reasonable explanation. Quest is unwilling to discuss.
no notification of $13.74 bill, sent to collections.
This is going to sound petty, but I had a visit to my local urgent care in the Spring of 2014 for minor health concerns. I paid around $30 up front for services not covered by my insurance. Unbeknownst to me, I apparently still owed $13.74 that my insurance did not cover and just found this out by the collection agency I received a letter from today. I had...

My appointment was at 10:00 AM on October 20 in the Woodbourne Rd location in Levittown, Pa, and I was 5 minutes late because the address did not include the building number, so it took me a while to find the correct building. I was taken back to the draw room at 10:20, and I had orders from 3 different doctors for routine blood work. The woman in charge...

Quest laboratory on Lake Worth Rd. in Lake Worth is the worst lab quest owns in Palm Beach County Florida. This laboratory is substandard and the employees are passive aggressive very slow very ignorant and extremely incompetent. As a nurse, I have to sign in for laboratory blood work to drop off and wait to be called. f these people Keep me waiting after signing in an unreasonable amount of time. Furthermore they lose the blood work, lie about drop off dates and times and don't always calibrate their machines. The employees of this lab have a 0/10 customer service rating.
My doctor requested a stool sample, waited for the office to open, walked in, gave the lady the referral, and she gave me a sterile cup. Specifically asked her if there were any directions since I do not do this every day, she said no. I asked her how do I do this, she didn't have much of an answer. She only told me if I cannot do it the same day keep it in the fridge. I walked out confused, frustrated and will never go back to that location again. Disgusting and incompetent. Went to work and my coworkers who have done this said that there should have been directions, a stick some paper something. This is how people on HMO's are treated in this country, like animals.
lost sample
I went to the Quest Diagnostics Charleston, WV office on Aug 17, 2015 to have blood drawn my lung doctor ordered. I never got the results because the office lost the sample. I have called several times and everyone that I talk to is rude or hangs up. My husband lost a days wages to bring me to have the blood-work done now he has to loose another days wages to take me somewhere else to have it done again. They act like its not a big deal that all this happened. I am very upset and will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know that needs blood-work not to use their services.
being rough with my son
Today I took my son in to get his blood drawn and the nurses that were working on him were so rough. They were yanking him around, grabbing him really hard. He is only 14 months so he is still really little and helpless but he was fighting them off really bad. They tried both arms and didn't get any blood out if him, I will never return!!

There is no receptionist to take the dropped sample. If you just drop your samples, you make you come back and do the passport work again. Also, their procedures are lacking. They once lost my insurance information associated with my blood work and asked me to pay again. If my doctor did not ask me to do blood work at that particular location, I will never come back again.

Before I agreed to have tests performed by Quest I asked the receptionist for the price of the procedure. I had the tests performed on 01/08/15. I received my invoice April 23.2015. The invoice was three times the amount the receptionist quoted. Even though Quest documented my insurance information they did not file a claim. I'm a senior citizen on a budget. I'm disappointed in the lack of professional conduct by this company.

I visited Quest Diagnostics, located at 3230 I-30E, Mesquite, TX, for a routine blood draw. While I waited, the televisions in the waiting room were tuned to a talk show. Just wanted to note that Quest Diagnostics is a very money-hungry company that does lab work, but its billing practices are as corrupt as any in the medical industry. First of all, I think it is an indictment on the American health care system as much as anything else, but this company is especially egregious in how it handles billing.
In October 2014 I went to the doctor to get routine blood work. Under my health plan, all basic wellcare/preventive care visits are covered at 100%, including lab tests. I went to a new doctor's office and Quest was the company on site to do work on behalf of the doctor. I didn't have a choice in this matter, nor did I realize what kind of company Quest was.
In a nutshell, here is the situation. They billed nearly $1, 000 for a basic series of tests. I filed it under insurance, and the insurance plan rates - or the "negotiated rates" that Quest agrees to bill - brought this down to just about $100. That's right... This company was willing to bill me $1, 000 out of pocket, yet they can make money and profit off of charging about 1/10th of that. It is insane that our health system allows this to happen, but that's what it is like when profit motive is the top priority in a health system.
My complaint isn't technically the amount that I ended up getting billed, it is the fact that Quest keeps expecting me to pay the remaining $100 fee out of pocket when I've called them three months in a row, educated them that my insurance plan from last year pays 100% for these things. They never make any effort to call my insurance or work anything out.
Here's why I'm complaining: they obviously over-bill, but even the amount that is owed they hassle patients for the money instead of calling insurance to negotiate. I've repeatedly given them my insurance information, called them several months in a row, and its the same old story. They say they can't negotiate prices with end users, they can put me on a payment plan, and that its my responsibility to call insurance and the doctor to work things out.
Horrible company, they are only interested in making money. People's health is secondary to them, they also do not work with insurance to get billing corrected. I recommend all to stay away from any doctor office involved with this company. In the new year I'm locating a new doctor and I'll be sure to ask them what lab they use for work and ensure I don't get a doctor who uses Quest since they don't know how to handle insurance billing matters and harass patients for money.

Billing problem
I had a blood test they told me they took United Healthcare as there website says only to tell me I owe them $424.48 for blood test because my insurance did not pay the bill. The insurance says all I owed quest was $14.00 I paid them $20.00 as quest said was my copay. I have received three bills from quest asking for the $424.48 and called United Health four times. What can I do to solve this problem when the insurance company's can't work together to solve the problem?
can not make appointment
Can not make future appointment. For the past two years I was using the Quest appointment web site to make appointments 6 months in the future. This website not malfunctions preventing me from making my appointment. There is no way to get through to quest to make an appointment. The Newtown square office [protected] will not take appointments over the phone. I was given a central phone number [protected] to schedule. That number is an automated answering machine that can not recognize voice or properly respond to numeric key entry. The quality of service has taken a big dive. Don't waste your time trying.

can not schedule future appointment
For the past two years I was able to schedule appointments six months out. Quest Diagnostic website now malfunctions which prevents making an appointment. I received an automated answering machine which could not understand any voice responses. It never gave me an opportunity to talk to a person for help. same thing - web site will not allow me to schedule doctor requested tests
billing incompetence
"Quest Diagnostics sent me a bill in late April for lab work I had done in March. I paid the bill the same week I received it and Quest cashed my check in late May. Since then I have received 5 more bills and a collections threat from Quest. I have called after every statement. I have spent several hours on the phone with Quest. Each rep tells me they see exactly what went wrong and they promise to fix it. 3 weeks later, I get another statement. This is absurd. I have tried to talk to supervisors but I get denied or promised that the sup will call me back...they don't. I have written to and emailed the company with no response. "
After posting the above gripe on Facebook...both on my page and their page, I received a private message asking me to email [protected]@questdiagnostics.com . I sent them a very detailed explanation of my complaint including dates and times of numerous phone calls. The following day I received a call from a supervisor who stated she had listened to all the telephone calls and that, in the future, I should ask for a supervisor immediately. I pointed out that I had asked for a supervisor on several of the phone calls and been told one was not available. She admitted repeatedly that Quest had dropped the ball. And she promised to fix the problem immediately and send me a zero balance statement.
Today I received a statement...not for zero balance but stating I owed money on a previous bill from 2 years ago (which paid in full 2 years ago) It seems they moved money from that account to the most current invoice to "zero" it out, leaving me with a "balance" on the previous date!
The level of billing incompetence I have had to deal with is mind-boggling. A statement a month for 8 months. A threat regarding collections...and every time I call I am assured that each rep "sees the problem. It is all here in the notes. [They] will take care of this immediately and it won't be a problem in the future." This is at the very least a complete and utter waste of my time...and, at this point, I think it is harassment.
Not sure what recourse I have, though as it has proven difficult to figure out who oversees companies like Quest.
Unfortunately, I have had similar billing issues with Quest. They could bill my insurance company because they covered my lab work 100%, but they refuse to do so. Since they won't even call or work with my insurance company, they keep sending me direct bills. Every month I call them and its a repeat issue: they say I pay or else they send to collections. They don't negotiate rates, they only offer payment plan to pay off the amount.
This company is fraudulent, and they should certainly clean up their practices.
rudeness from technician, results take too long
NEVER AGAIN, rudeness and lack of interest on the part of the technician, poor blood draw, would not let me know past lab results, even though they were in the computer.
