Good Morning,
I have been a customer of RAC for more than 6 years all products have been paid in full. This week I was four days late and called to make a payment . I was greeted by David who was rude and indicated there would be an additional charge and I needed to pay 200.00 which has never been the case in previous incidents. I have had a great reputation with this company and continue to do business. My call ended with this gentleman threatening me and coming to my home to pick up my product after 4 days. I have never in my life dealt with business conducted in this matter and I am looking at other avenues to bring this to the highest level for review and immediate resolution. This is not helping the customer or great customer service. The best notice to the world is word of mouth and last thing anyone needs is a bad reputation for customer service . I am a current customer for the Laporte Indiana location.. have a few things rented from there and am current with all appliances except the refrigerator which is a month behind. I called the store to ask them if we can pay off the 256.00 to avoid a pick up.. Lauren and Brittany were extremely rude and threatening with law action.
As a customer service place I expected more polite and professional attitude.
I was in a financial bind which drew me to the company for what I believed was an easier solution.
Understandably some people are not always punctual about payments but no everyone should be treated so rudely as I have been today.

I went into the Galveston Rent A Center and signed an agreement for a beautiful Ashley Furniture couch on 07/10/2018. I have been calling for the past 2 weeks wanting to know when to expect it. Last week, on Friday, I was advised by J.J. at the location that it hadn't even been 2 weeks and it takes 2-4 weeks. I advised him that it in fact had been PASSED 2 weeks and almost 4 weeks. The manager finally got on the phone with me the next call I made that day and advised me of a situation that took place with the driver that was to be delivering the furniture to their store. According to the store manager, this took place on Friday and they were trying to get that driver back out to drop off my couch that should have been on that truck. However, here it is Wednesday 08/08/2018 and I still have not received my couch, nor do they know when I will receive it. This unacceptable. I have been waiting for a little over 4 weeks for my couch to be delivered to me. I even paid for a full month the day that I "ordered" this couch. I have been on hold with customer service at [protected] for over 10 minutes now with no luck either. I would really love for someone to call me back ASAP [protected]. I would also love to have my couch delivered. If it is not here by Friday, I will need a refund and will take my business elsewhere.

This is most definitely not a company that I will ever recommend anyone to. This has been the absolute worst experience, at any given moment a person's life situation can change, literally at the blink of an eye. This company makes bad times 10x's worse, I've offered payments numerous times and have gotten the run around. One guy calls, I explain to him when I get paid and that I will have a payment then, that guy says OK. The next guy calls...the next day mind you... Nowhere near my payday and then when I tell him I already made arrangements with the other guy he tell me I can't make a payment... I've done alot of reading about this company and I now know that I was suppose to pick my payment schedule, not the salesmen. I also know that I never even received the the items that I put money down on... Again y'all took it upon yourselves to break my merchandise and replace it with items you picked out yourselves and then never talk to me about it not have me sign anything. Yet I'm being treated like I've done something wrong... I've threatened with theft charges, I didn't steal anything! I've tried to pay you people even though I didn't receive the items I wanted. Yet im still being treated as a criminal. I just spoke with someone in person and again... Not 30 minutes later my phone is ringing...this is literally insane! I'm sick of being threatened and harassed! Y'all get your money from me nomatter what... Y'all really need to change how you do business and most definitely the way you treat your customers.

First of all Rent a Center is very unprofessional. It first started with the delivery guy flirting with me.. asking me to invite him to my house... then joking on a very personal matter on more than one occasion.. next here I am yes struggle on my payment.. this guy is calling my phone back to back while I am at work.. first of all I've worked in collections for years when someone tells me that they are at work between such and such hours I make note of that and respect it... Also you are not allowed to tell a third party personal account information it is illegal.. I've asked nicely for them to stop coming to my house that is weird and makes me feel uncomfortable and they proceed to do so. Sit outside my house for 30 minutes at a time! Go to my friends house harassing her about me and herself speaking inappropriately.
Also, threatening people about warrants and arrests is also unprofessional and very harassing. I'm reporting all of this behavior to the BBB and the Attorney General.. I've have enough.

Employee was very nonchalant and unprofessional. Was unaware of the product, I gave the employee three options that I wanted to choose from, the employee put in the order without notifying me of which bed set she was ordering for me. The employee stated she would call me the next day to confirm delivery but never called. I do not feel confident in my purchase, I have already made my first payment and am unsure of when my furniture will be delivered.

Hello the store location 3231 South Cobb We Smyrna, GA [protected]. Manager Recordo came to my apartment and told me I had to pay 210.00 before I return product. He took mattress back and then said i still had to pay 210.00 or they will proceed with a warrant to arrest me. I paid a total of 2040.00 on the product and I don't see how I still owed 400.00 on mattress. This is a very long story really need to speak to someone HIGHER UP. I CONTACTED CHANNEL 2 NEWS, and CHANNEL 6 NEWS ABOUT THIS STORE MANAGER RECORDO. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Rent A Center on 13930 Nacogdoches Rd in San Antonio, TX (P) [protected] keeps harassing me and now they have crossed the line. An employee by the name of David called my boss whom is a reference and told him how much I owed them and the last time I paid and he told him I played him which I'm not quite sure what he means by that and that he doesn't want to have to take things to the next level. I am sure aswell what he meant by that but I'm a little scared for my life. Now my job is on the line because David calls my job at least 2 times a day and gives whomever answers the phone a hard time. I'm humiliated because now my boss knows that I'm behind on my payment and that doesn't look good on my part. Not only am I scared because I don't know what David will do but that right there is illegal for him to do. I have asked him not to call my work because we aren't allowed personal calls but he calls more. I am also not sure why I'm having to pay because I was under the impression that I paid the total price when first buying the product.
I bought damaged sofas for 400 and I have my bank statement that shows that's what I paid. I was not given any paperworknor did I sign anything only signed the initial application. I honestly don't know what to do...

The me name is Star and she never once called me but called my daughter who's a reference on my application. That was very unprofessional because you suppose to call the customer first. Next she came to me and my fiance apt and her approach was my name is Star is Darrell here. She didn't say where she was from at all and this made my fiance look at that as if I was having an affair. Very unprofessional again.I gave her 60.00 and she wrote payment on the back of the door card. I was not happy about that as well as the queen bed from day one when it was delivered because it was missing the night stand that they had to go back and get and Star said it didn't come with one but when I went into the store on the day I set it all up I was told that it did by Janet George who was really nice and very professional. I wasn't satisfied with the bed at all, and the headboard has slack cuts in them for rails and footboard which I didn't get and the mattress and pillowtop is bad. They dropped off brackets for the bed but didn't put them together. So my thing us how do you have Mgmt running such a company with that type of attitude and not giving a damn about their customers. I will not al lo w this to continue and if nothing can be done about servicing your customers then rent a center will not get my business. I think I deserve better and a better service if you can't correct this problem. I have no problem paying but why pay for half quality and service.

These people are absolutely un professional and insane! I rented from the Stillwater Oklahoma location about 2 months ago, situation changed.. I have to told them DAILY when I will be bringing them their money and they continue to call call call everyday ALL day! They call my work witch is pissing my boss off therefor they are putting my job in jeopardy! They show up to my job witch is definitely not allowed...also pissing my boss off and yes my boss and I have both told them to stop showing up at my job and calling my job and yes they continue! If I lose my job over this there will most definitely be a lawsuit filed against this company...thay are disclosing personal information to family, friends and Co workers! When I CA them back to again explain when I will be In with the money they are rude as heck and threatening me with legal action! I never even received the merchandise I wanted! I signed papers for a 65" curved TV... The day they delivered merchandise they dropped the TV while loading it, claimed it was cracked at the store and they just didn't notice till they went to load it... BULL! I had just seen the TV the evening before and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it! They dropped it! Simple as that! They showed up with a regular 65" loaner! Instead of calling and asking if I wanted to proceed with the curved TV after screen being fixed or I would like to pick out a different TV! And based on other complaints lord knows how long it would have been before getting the curved TV back...i do not want a TV that has been dropped on the concrete...never did I ever receive a call even saying that they had my TV fixed and ready for delivery! I never even signed anything for this loaner witch has issues and is not the TV I purchased, I signed for a black glass stand...again... They took it upon themselves to pick out a different one for me instead of calling and asking me if I'd like to pick out a different one! The huge wooden/marbel stand THEY chose for me showed up all scratch and gouged up and missing parts! Are you kidding me? Is that y'alls version of customer service? It's about what the customer wants! After all the customer is paying for the stuff... Not y'all! The Xbox freezes...its not what the contract said...its a one s! Oh and the legs on the TV were so warped that I had to fold up cardboard and stick it under the back of each leg to keep the TV falling off of the stand! I had also informed them that my ex took the stuff when she left...they informed me that I am still responsible for making the payments...i agreed and told them when I would have the payment for them... They continue to call call call call call my cell phone and my work and show up at my job! Even showed up at a friends house thinking I lived there! That is plain rude! They mentioned taking me to small claims court and this point Im good with that because I received horrible customer service, the merchandise was not what I signed for and was damaged and I have been harassed and stalked...going to my job or calling my job was going to far...shwoing up at a friends house who wasn't even listed on my paperwork, to far! Disclosing my information, too far! This company should be shut down, they need to be stopped before they do something to harm some one or cost Someone their Job or home. Rent a center employees are very dishonest, rude and worst of all they are crazy... Do not buy anything from this company! Nothing! Not even a $50 phone! I literally owe 100 dollars on a bed that was just about 1300 dollars my payments are not due until Saturdays and every week they start calling Thursday show up at my house trying to take the bed then the witch at the counter goes oh they are just reminders well I don't need a thousand calls a day to my boyfriend's phone then mine to remember to pay you. I also pay the 3.00 a week for the protection ...which how it was explain to me if you can't pay your covered I did the math I have paid well over 100 dollars in that 3.00 protection plan that I never get to use because if I can't pay them they come to take the beds. Then they have the audacity to say oh your really good with payments do you want to rent something else...I will never ever rent for this company again!

I rented this bed back in September or October finished paying for in feb i callwd to make the finally payment of about 499.00 was told by the general manager at the cedar location that my payment over the phone was only going to be 430.00 and because you closed down the st george location i would not be charged a 5 fee. After she took my payment of what i thought was 430.00 i looked at my bank account and and about 505.00 came out i called her back and she said that it wasnt really the 430.00 and she charged my the 5 dollars. She told me that they would sebd me a reciept and the 5 dollars. It is now july havent received the reciept or 5 dollars and then i get a letter in the mail saying i had 328.44 in store credit for my sons bed and i feel very upset and will not ever buy anything from rent of center again. I feel like that manager should have kept her word at the 430.00 and the 5 should not have been charged. I should have recieved that 5 abd receipt by now. I was over charged 70-75 because of what she said. She shouldn't have said something id she didnt know. I belive the manager is Courtney or Christina i know that it was the general manager that helped me. I have tried to call and talk to her since about 10:30 this morning and i called back again and she is still too busy to call me. I hope that you at corporate will makr this right. Thank you

My husband rented a washing machine in 2017. In early 2018 we had to send it in for repair. The staff member gave us a "loaner". We asked for 2 months where our original washer was because we were told it would be back in from repair in two 2 weeks! They gave us the run around over and over, even after my husband tried to pay the original one off while it was in repair. The manager told him he couldn't do that while we had the "loaner"! Here it is 5 months later and now we are being told that it is in the computer as a trade in! We NEVER AGREED ON ANY SUCH THING! I refuse to pay for a mistake they made! Contact me ASAP please! I will NOT pay another payment on this roach infested piece of crap that leaves brown streaks all over my families clothes! I would like the distract manager of the Sidney, Ohio rent a center to call me at [protected] my name is Gwen Geier. I feel I am going to be over charged for a product. I was making a $77.19 payment every two weeks for a fridge and a stove. My cousin gave me her old stove cause she bought a new one and her old one wasn't that old. I returned the stove to rent a center in Sidney, oh and they said my new payment would be $63 and some change. This to me does not seem right that I only had $14 and some change knocked off my payment. There should be at least $20.00 taken off the payments. This needs to be looked into.

This is my first time renting from Rent a Center, at first everything was cool but I started receiving free payments after every fifth payment of 185.00 (every two weeks)y wife called me and told me that she got the email saying we got a free payment, so I was cool with that and called them and told them about the email and they still wanted me to pay a week behind because I call them too late for the free deal, the manager that I dealt with was being rude talking over me and didn't want to hear nothing I was saying, so I called them to come pick up the stuff and they try to tell me when they gonna come get it. And knock on my neighbors house asking them where we are. After they told them we are not home. She informs me that he proceeds to start taking pictures of my house and started messing with my dog. I have purchased from RAC 5 times, I purchased a used line backer couch set for $713.00 I went to get the paper work done Feb 26th and the slysalesman tried to mark it ip to $1600.00 I paid $100.00 down and never received credit until I had to go to the store with proof that I paid. I had 6months same as cash and they had me paying 86.00 every 2 weeks. Today I received A threatening call in which the salesman said don't make me come and take my couch which eas already paid down to 95.00 The manager refused to take payment, Keep in mind I had tp Sept 15 to pay it off and paid it off two months ahead of time. I just filed criminal trespassing charges against them today with the sheriff's office.
Don't buy from here. They do not stand behind their word. They'll call u 10 times starting at 8am on ur due date. I received 6 calls from 9a to 3p on due date even after telling 2 different ppl I'd be in later. Bunch of scammers and con artists. They'll threaten to come pickup item on due date if don't come in that day to pay. Even if tell them u can't make it that day and will be in on whatever day they'll blow ur phone up evwryday to harass you. Worst customer service. They have limited inventory. I don't see place staying open after talking to about 20 other ppl with bad experience from this location. Word is getting around about them. Just read other reviews and u will see for yourself. I even have in writing my paynepa due on Monday and they harassing me on Saturday for payment.
