Select Home Warranty MAYTAG Microwave

Attention: Select Home Warranty Company.

Claim/Case #[protected].

This is my case/query and complaint with supporting documents/email trail below/attached.

As of 4/19/2022, I quoted and procured coverage with your Company.

Initiated contact right about the 4/22 per misinformation provided and requested a cancelation of the policy. I was then transferred to the Customer Resolution unit for assistance. The Supervisor listened to my concerns and offered to waive the 1st service as a compromise if I maintained coverage. This agreement was accepted and supposedly documented in my file. I did call back and an Agent confirmed. Premiums were continuously drafted from my account/financial institution thereafter.

In July I submitted a claim about my Over-the-counter micro wave. I was assigned a case #[protected]. Got a confirmation and next steps/required documents.

Complied as instructed. Then the saga began. Several emails/calls/lengthy wait times. Sent invoice/ documents of new oven purchased. I was even informed on a 7/26/22 call that the reimbursement check of $95 will be processed upon my completion/return of a reimbursement form from select home warranty per sect #8 of the contract. Turnaround time 5-7 business days. I inquired for an email option. Form never came. Also, was informed the turnaround time of about 30 days to get a check.

On 8/1/2022, I was shockingly informed that my policy canceled. I was given all kind of explanation and untrue information and I needed to re-instate the policy. This is has a been a nightmare.

On 8/8/2022, I wrote/filed a Complaint to the home office. On 8/16, received an email stating my invoice for the my purchase is not readable.

Select Home Warranty Home warranty

Definitely NOT worth the money and NOT what they say!

Something as simple as a garbage disposal is NOT covered. The installation is more that what the product costs so they send you a $75 amount and pretty much say "Good Luck" True story!

Also, they don't have repairman affiliations in certain areas and it could tale several weeks to get a repairman out to do the service.

Select Home Warranty Plumbing

I have two serious leaks in my house. I first contacted Select two weeks ago. They assigned a plumber who couldn't be reached so I complained and they assigned another plumber but he's been hard to reach. Last Wednesday I was told the plumber could only come today. Between 11 and 1 pm. At 1 pm I called and was told he would be a hour late. Now I have no explanation. Great service!

Select Home Warranty Garage door opener

After filing a claim with select home warranty on 8/2/2022 to repair or replace the garage door opener and after several calls to customer service we were told the same answers they could locate a contractor, select home warranty offered the option to hire our own contractor no one would replace the garage door opener finally got a contractor to look at our garage door opener select home warranty
Offered a replacement value of $175.00 valued at the date of installation which was ten years ago we were never told we would have paid the $225.00 difference very frustrating

Select Home Warranty home warranty

Have had this almost a year and have not had to file a claim. Filed a claim on my ceiling fan that per Amazon would cost $459 to purchase today. They decided that they would offer the buy out option of $45. This is reidiculus. Per section 8.iii of there terms "In lieu of replacing a system or appliance that is deemed irreparable or it is not cost-effective to repair, said

determination being made by Select, Select may choose to pay a cash settlement for the irreparable

component of the system or appliance. Select is not responsible for installation. The cash settlement shall be

in an amount not to exceed the depreciated value of the component/appliance being replaced;:

A ceiling Fan live is expected to be 8 years. Using a conservative calculation to take inflation in consideration results in a value if you purchased it before inflation of 425.74. divide by the 8 year life expectancy is 51.96 depreciation per year. Based on the 5 years i have owned it results in 259.83 in depreciation. Subtracting that from the pre inflation value results in a depreciated value of 156. So I paid over $600 for the coverage for the year and have not filed a claim and they want to provide me a low ball figure of over 100 less than the depreciated value. Of course they will not provide their depreciated value calculation you just need to trust them. So they are going to loose a customer because i will not be renewing this year and will provide this story across all possible venue in social media for 100. Needless to say i would not recommend them. Actually at this point i am not sure i can recommend any home warranty. this is my third company and all have been sleaze bags that want your money and will tell you anything to get it then does not live up to the promised service.

Desired outcome: provide the accurate depreciated value as the buyout for my fan or refund the price i paid for the service

Select Home Warranty platnum service

i took select warranty 2 mounths ago i took the platium think ing it covered every thing except the add ons for roof and pool i called them 8/9/2022 becouse i have a pull down hose on my kitchen faucit that is fraying called them and was told that was not coverd although they could for another 250.00 so i am going to drop my service with them todayi thought platuim ment plumbing problems also well i have paid for 2 mos thats 108.00 dollars they will not get a third mounth

Select Home Warranty Claim denied without even having service tech sent out

I filed a claim on my HVAC unit stating it was dripping (mind you I am no expert when it comes to HVAC). Needless to say, the next day I get a notice of claim denied stating "After a Review of the information given to us by you concerning your HVAC system, your unit does appear to have a Condensation Leak. It has been determined that your Policy Does Not Cover this issue, the HVAC system has a Condensation leak and unfortunately, Condensation Leaks are not covered by your policy. Please see section 6.3.6 of the policy agreement."

I called several times trying to resolve and each time I am told that due to my description Home Select will NOT be sending out a Service Tech to provide service and that my claim is denied. This is just totally unfair and taking advantage of the consumer (especially the elderly population). I have since had my equipment repaired and the cost was quite low. Thus Home Select it looks like you will be losing not only 1 home but 2 under which I have coverage.

Select Home Warranty Rude, rude customer service one after another........

A horrible, horrible company to do business with! They seem to only employ foreigners to work for them. They hang up on you and are rude. I have a three year contract with this company and I am so sorry that I have to stay with them and cannot get to anyone that is on the Corporate level. One person after another is as rude as any company representative could ever be! NOTE that they have many KUDO (5 stars) and not one of any of the other stars to be seen! My opinion is that they are a horrible company

Desired outcome: I want to SPEAK with someone on the corporate level...about the service I have received! I do not want to speak with ANOTHER FOREIGNER!!!! They have been rude to the ultimate!!!!

I subscribed to a 5 year platinum Select Home Warranty plan and decided to cancel my 4 separate policies for each of my 4 houses and request a refund within less than a year. The following are some of the problems encountered in attempting to get a refund:

1. You are put on hold when attempting to request a cancellation. When you finally get hold of a real person, they put you on hold again.

2. Finally you reach a representative who attempts to convince you to reconsider cancelling. After being adamant about my desire to cancel all 5 of my policies, the representative informs you that the cancellations will be processed and a refund will be sent.

3. When a refund check arrives about a month later, it is only for one rather than four policies. This is very frustrating and you have to go through the whole process again to attempt to cancel all of my policies and a a refund check for all policies rather than one.

Select Home Warranty Overall claims and poor response/payment of claims

They did not cover the full charges for a repair on my stove. They don't cover the problem with my air conditioner. They don't cover my built in ice maker.

Read the fine print as they don't cover much and what they do cover it won't be the full amount of the charges.

I had a better plan up north that did in fact repair or replace. I will cancelling my contract with select home warranty and attempt to find the other company that was very good!

Desired outcome: I would like a refund of the remaining time on my contract.

Select Home Warranty Washer and dryer

my dryer went out first I called them on july 28th 2022 and they set me up with ge to come and fix it and 08/02/2022 the day of ge to come out to my house to fix the dryer they called me and said they had to cancel till 08/09/2022 I called select and they won't send no one else out because its a ge and then my washer went out on 08/02/2022 and even though ge will come out on 08/09/2022 for the dryer they won't fix both items on the same day! and again select won't send no one else out they take my monthly payments and $75.00 for each repair! 6 days and they don't care about there customers! worse company ever! stay away from select home warranty's please go with someone else! I am canceling with them and going else were! I already made my monthly payment so September I am done! and the people are so rude! good luck to who ever stays with these jokers!

Select Home Warranty Pool

I paid the Select Home Warranty $1,724.91 for the platinum care coverage plan. I choose the option to also cover the inground lap pool that is built into my house. When the pool cover failed, they denied my claim. When I called the technician said that the pool was covered but the additional elements were not. I told him that I paid an additional $100 to cover the pool and did not know that there were additional fine print or things that had to be covered separately. I also asked what was covered by my choosing to cover the pool; the water? the concrete walls?

I am so frustrated with this company, for having Indian workers that struggle with the English language and because they took two months to fix the dishwasher. I choose them because of some high reviews.

I am currently attempting to cancel my policy so I can find another, better company to work with.

Desired outcome: Stop lying about covering my 'pool' when it doesn't do that.

Select Home Warranty I would like my money back, as the warranty has only been active since 7/6/22

July 22nd 2022: I submitted a claim on a plumbing backup. I was advised by the plumber that I need to replace my septic tank and drain field, and that the tank should be drained until the replacement can be done. I had the tank drained 6 weeks ago. In addition - they could not supply anyone to complete the claim, I had to pay out of pocket to have someone come out and actively pursue a reimbursement.

July 25th: My claim was denied by the warranty company because the pumping is not included (though neither are the drain fields) - they said that because multiple things needed replacement/to be done, the septic tank replacement would NOT be covered.

I called to follow up and explain the situation and the representative could not understand that the need for pumping was not the cause of any failure. She also could not cite the area in my contract that said a claim would be denied if any other part of the system also needed work. She refused to allow me to speak with anyone else at any level of the company.

I called back and spoke with a 2nd representative, who still did not understand what I was saying/trying to explain and still refused to allow me to speak with anyone to discuss the claim and appeal the decision. He told me to email a generic customer service email to start an appeal process. I also got a copy and reviewed my contract-which does not say anywhere that a claim would be denied if other parts of the system need repair. I also indicated that I was very displeased with the process and refusal to be allowed to speak with anyone other than the customer service reps (as it was clear they were reading scripted responses and there was likely a language barrier) and that I would like to also discuss a full refund as their service agreement is misleading and their customer service has been very poor.

July 28th: I reached out again to request some confirmation that someone has received my email to initiate an appeal process.

It is now Monday 8/1 and no one has responded to my claim and no one has even acknowledged that I put in a request to start the appeal process.

I also wanted my money back but they will not even send me to customer service they just said you have already paid and there is nothing they can do. I have filed several claims that were not ever fixed. the worst company ever.

Select Home Warranty Denied service technician

On 7/26/2022 sent Select Home Warranty an online notice that I was having a problem with my refrigerator, that left a small pool of water on the floor that came from inside or from underneath. On 7/27/2022 I received an email saying that my coverage for this item is not covered in my contract. I have the Platinum Care coverage, which includes refrigerators. Now prior to this incident, I had received several emails from Select Home Warranty warning me that my policy was going to be expiring soon an email on 6/19/22, 6/20/22, and again on 7/14,22. It was at this time I decline to renew the policy because I could not afford it right now. But the current policy was good until 8/14/22. Earlier this year I had a washing machine for clothing that left water all over the floor and they sent out a tech right away. He diagnosed the problem, fixed and I paid the 75.00 fee to him, only to place a hose that had fallen off. The water is not the problem it's only a symptom of a problem. I think it's because I decline to renew the policy, and it's close to the expiration date. Afraid they might find something.

Desired outcome: All I wanted was for them to come and diagnose the problem, if any and then proceed with fixing the problem if any and I would have been glad to pay them their fee. Just like they did for my washing machine. I can't diagnose components.

Select Home Warranty select home warranty

Our 13 year old central air conditioner stopped working . The compressor would work intermittently. The coil which was replaced in 2018 and leaked freon. There were several other issues which needed to be repaired or replaced . Due to the age of the unit our technician said it was not worth fixing and needed to be replaced

I submitted all required paperwork as required showing how I maintained the unit . Select Home Warranty called the Air conditioner Company and was advised that the unit needed replacement.

I had a new unit installed for approximately $7,000. S.H.W denied my claim and said since it had a freon leak nothing was covered. They made a "courtesy offer" of $150.00. As per the S.H.W. contract the replacement value was $2,000.

These people are crooks. This Company is a fraud. Don't waste your money. When you speak to customer service it's very difficult to understand the agent. They all speak very broken English. All of their conversations are scripted . You can't have a conversation with any of them

Desired outcome: I would like to speak to a person in their corporate offices and go over the claim in detail. If I don't get satisfaction I would like to take them to small claims court

I had exactly the same thing happen and had the exact same response from Select Home Warranty they are a total scam, basically a turn key money bilking scam company I spoke to 3 diifferent OFF SHORE script reading agents. The firs said the basic "Oh so sorry Mr. customer, oh so sorry Mr. customer your warranty doesn't cover the replacement of the old central air conditioning system although the warranty clearly does. I am adding the contractor company receipt which clearly states "The system need to be replaced." The off shore rep says "No under a section that says the freon leaks are not covered." I told the rep just cancel the warranty and got this response. "Oh Mr. customer let me transfer you to billing & cancellations." She then came back on the line to say "Oh Mr. customer for $79.99 we will upgrade you to fix a freon leak., let me transfer you." Now you all know what happened on that transfer don't ya. CLICK he hung up on me. I called right back and see another screen shot of my 5 yes FIVE HOUR wait after being transferred to CANCEL the warranty and after that wait, yeah you know it they hung up the call! Please, Please DO NOT waste your money on this company, you have been forewarned. Oh and when I called the next day that offshore rep told me the previous two reps had erred by telling me that I could upgrade the to have the freon leak repaired. Select Scam Warranty should be their name. Let the buyer beware!

Select Home Warranty Refrigerator repair

Contract was purchased June 8, 2021 with an expiration date of September 8, 2022. a claim 3rd of July because my refrigerator went out. Tech showed up on th of July and had to order 2 different parts. It is now the 21st of July and the parts are still on order. I have been given 4 different dates that they would be in and none have panned out. The manager was supposed to call me back yesterday and did not. I sat on hold for over an hour today waiting for the Manager until he finally picked up the call. Almost 3 weeks is not an acceptable length of time to wait for a refrigerator repair. He said the part is supposed to be in tomorrow and that they will have someone come out tomorrow and fix it. I was told that last week as well but no part and no phone call. After 4 missed dates I do not believe the part will be in tomorrow. I informed Moses (the manager) that I want to be reimbursed according to the contract ($500) and that I am going out to purchase a new refrigerator today. I will not wait another week on the off chance the part may finally come in. Warranty company was not able to perform the repair in a reasonable amount of time so as per paragraph 5.4 and 10.1 of my contract

Desired outcome: I want to be reimbursed $500 towards the cost of a replacement refrigerator.

Select Home Warranty Air Conditioner

On Sunday July 17th I filed claim number [protected] for my air conditioning unit that had stopped working. A tech can out early Monday July 18th and determined that my unit had the original OEM motor that had lasted over 20 years and needed to be replaced. Before leaving my home, he ordered a replacement motor through one of his vendors.

Several days later I had not received approval from Select Home to cover my motor. I explained to them that I was elderly, handicapped (Legally 100% disabled), and that we were experiencing record heat. On 3 different occasions I was assured that they understood my problem and would escalate the process that normally takes 1 - business days. It is now July 21st and I have heard nothing.

Through the experience I learned it was not possible to talk to the approval dept. or a United States rep. I was unable to find a number for a corp office or anyone who could help me. Everyone was polite and professional but did not have the authority to help me.

Desired outcome: I want this claim approved ASAP. The actual review should take minutes, not hours or days.

Select Home Warranty Replacement of garbage disposal and plumbing

I am covered with Select Home Warranty's "platinum care" program and other select options. All paid in full. My Garbage disposal fail and caused damage to the attached plastic plumbing. When I tried to file a claim to have the repairs and replacements Select Warranty stated they would only pay $50.00 towards me buying the disposal. The Policy Holder Agreement clearly states the plumbing system (para 6.3.1, exclusion water softener; slab leaks and polybutene pipes) and garbage disposal (para 6.2.5, no exclusions) are fully covered.

Presently, kitchen water and sinks are unusable.

Desired outcome: I paid over $1200 for 3 years and this is the 1st time using the warranty and now I have to go out and hire somebody and buy parts. I truly believe someone isn't doing the job. I am asking that Select follow its obligations.

Select Home Warranty Hvac unit repairs

A repairman came to fix the HVAC he stated it needed Freon. Then he went on to say I'm gonna call the company tell them you need a fan. He stated he's gonna tell the company he already has the fan. In addition, I paid another $ 250 for Freon. No fan was ever placed. Now it is getting hot and the total system is no longer functioning. I called the SHW explained what happen. She stated I will have to work it out with the repairman. I called another HVAC company to look at the outside unit. He should the connection were broken and FREON was dripping on the floor of the unit. He stated he would will not attempt to fix the system it is just metal. He stated who ever fixed that unit knew it was crap.

Desired outcome: I would like HVAC unit replaced.

Select Home Warranty liars

My main air conditioner is not working, I called and made a claim, they sent a repairman who texted me that he would be coming on a Friday, before he could get here select home warranty told him, never mind, it's her 2nd upstairs ac that isn't working. I called shw back and informed them that it was my main ac not working, they argued and basically called me a liar. I live in Texas where we are in the triple digits temps. I bought a small window ac and now the living room is my new home. This is a disgusting company with many, many complaints, I have appt with an attorney 7/19/2022 to see what can be done and a possible class action suit. My son who lives upstairs is enjoying the working ac, but as I am in a wheel chair, not so much.

I’ve bought 2 policies over the years and just filed my first claim. They sent a local repair contractor that was prompt and great. Then the games started. Select Home Warranty came back and said it didn’t make sense to fix my 5 year old washer as it was only worth $175. After 2 emails and a couple of phone calls they couldn’t tell me how they came up with that $175. They just talked in circles. They said a supervisor would call me and explain it. That call never came. So instead of fighting I thought I’d take the $175.

As they requested, I sent them the receipt for the new washer we bought and asked them to send me their form so I could get the $175. They didn’t so after 6 days and asking several times I was done dealing with them. Most of our things that their policy covered are about the same age of our 5 year old washer. That means if we ever had to file another claim I would expect the same thing to happen – little or no coverage. So we made the decision to cancel our policy. I spent 54 minutes on the phone being passed around and then a loyalty supervisor got on the line and asked if they gave me $300 for our washer would I not cancel my policy?

So let’s see - a lowball offer, a supervisor that never called back, they wouldn’t send me an email form so I could get my $175 check, they insulted me by offering me more money not to cancel and then it took a hour on the phone to cancel the policy. I will be telling everyone I can our experience.

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of their cancel $75 fee plus their $60 service fee for a total of $135
