Hello,
I wanted to write in and make a complaint against David Croft who is the current Sky f1 lead commentator. Myself and my colleagues find him extremely unprofessional with his role. His painfully obvious personal biases are my biggest concern and stand out so much that it's the reason why we are planning to not renew.
I know from many of my friends and colleges they feel the same way and agree with my view on this, though they have never taken the time to write in and express it. I thought it would be be the best thing to do, to write in and get it out there that many fans that I personally know of, do feel this way regarding David Croft.
We have heard news that Sky's new owners are also not happy with him and have a replacement lined up. I'd like to encourage you and let you know we'd be delighted at this move and would happily be buying sky again next year if the that scenario passes.

I use to enjoy his Friday free practice commentary and left the race to the "pro" commentators. It was more chilled etc. But now he is the main talking head he just doesn't shut up, and like Brundle he says the same things every race "pre prescribed burn outs on the warm up lap" its just boring he just isn't cool anymore... Its like listening to your dad tell dad jokes.. He thinks he is hilarious. Also he stole the phrase "its lights out and away we go" from Ben Edwards (a much better commentator imo)
I watch channel 4 as its the only watchable option. If C4 lose the rights then I'm not watching anymore.
Don't even get me started on Simon Lazenby
Think Billy Monger is the only guy on the team that actually know what he is talking about.
SKY need to re-evaluate their F1 commentary format. To say it's rubbish is an understatement. They are getting an awful lot of money from the subscribers and to inflict the low rate commentators that they have onto the F1 fans is an insult. The Superbike commentators are in a class of their own compared to these pretentious babbling idiots. I do not want to be told every 5 minutes the same thing I've been told week after week after week by the same people that have no idea what good commentary is, and know when to and when not to talk. I don't get a chance to listen to the engines anymore as they race. Utter rubbish - all of them!
We now watch F1 on mute. Can't stand Croft.
I second. What is with the raising volume and pitch of "Crofty's" voice? Extremely annoying and useless. He also likes to toot his own horn. Sky should try to get Calvin Fish.
SKY F1, PLEASE read all of the above. Lets have a top class commentary for a top class sport. Even the new ones are anoying! This nonesense has to stop. You charge an awful lot in subscription fees so you should be able to go out there and find the best of the best with our hard earned cash!
