I ordered on monday 10/7 my parcel. The promise that riefqa goolam made that my parcel will be delivered on thursdar 13/07 after se took of the berry hairdryer holder that was not in stock. Today 14/07 i did not reciev my order and the black bord is also not in stock.
I communicate with her by e-mail and that was never mentioned. This order is for my grandchild. It is a pitty that bad service is general at takealot. This was not my first order but definitaly the last,
recaal this delivery from the courriers.
Give back my money.

First of all, you guys have no number to get in contact with you. The ones online does not work! I ordered quite alot of books, expected a call or msg before it got delivered, but your delivery guy was so mean that I didn't accept anything from him and went back in. Next time, please send the decent drivers and also, please cancel my order. Wil never use you again. Regards, Dean

I ordered a lenova tab3 and Bluetooth speaker bundle for Christmas, received the goods, started using it and about few mnths ago, the screen was damaged, it looks like manufacturing issue, so I returned items to takealot. Takealot then investigates goods and said it was our own damage, so I asked them if they can repair it..after a few weeks I got an quotation for the repair and it was way more than what the actual item cost. I declined the repair and asked to return item so I can arrange repair myself. 2 weeks later my goods was return, only it was not the tab/speaker but a external hard drive. I notified them and they collected the item. Since then I made any enquiries about my tab/speaker and every time they will get back to me or will escalate and someone will phone, but nobody does, its been 2 months. The last conversation I had with them, I asked them to acknowledge that you lost the item and perhaps reimburse me, still nothing yet, its been more than 2 months now.

Takealot is then placing misleading information on their website and we all must just allow you to get away with “We apologize for any inconvenience caused”. This is unfair to all of you consumers. Thank you for nothing. I will defiantly not leave this here. Takealot is now not convenient shopping but inconvenient shopping.

incorrect product delivered
On the 29th May I decided to use taka lot for the 1st time, buying my son a GPS watch. Not only was he excited but so was I. I got a turn around time of 24hours when they came to deliver the item and was extremely pleased only to discover that the item that was delivered was the wrong colour. Since I was paying cash I asked the driver is I could send it back or take it back to the store as he said there was one right in edenvale so it was easier to call them and go exchange it. Since it was my first time I believed him and when I called to my dismay found out I now have to wait 24 to 48 hours for the company to investigate the issue and that they may or may not have stock of the item.
They picked up the watch quick enough but it is now the 8th of June and I have still to hear from taka lot or find out when I will receive my watch back or even if I will get my money back. There is no contact details or a single human person to speak to. It is extremely disappointing that I have not only saved up to get this watch and now have to sit and wait for my money back and to watch my child be upset over this as he was waiting months for me to finally buy it for him.
The service is terrible and it is very upsetting to see no interest in anyone resolving this issue.
not what I ordered
I ordered a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutation Basic Figures - Rocksteady and received the Bbob action figure instead. I was very upset as this was a birthday gift for my son and now I have no gift for him. The process to get this problem sorted out has been horrible, nobody has acknowledged their mistake or apologized. Now they just want to collect the product and refund the price I was charged for it, I also paid for delivery just so that they can send the wrong product to me on-purpose because they do not have the product that I want in stock...
This kind of service is ridiculous.
delivery guy rude and arrogant
Hi good day
I would like to lay a complaint of the delivery guy who was very rude as I had to look for my card to pay, he was impatient and very rude . He swore at me when I told him that this is bad services and he gets paid for his job and as a paying customer I need respect. He told me he doesn't work for me. What happened to a customer always being right. Takealot as a service provider I feel I did not get the Tfc service needed.

I ordered a 1 tb harddrive from Takealot, as I was about to go travelling in Africa and wanted a strong backup system. The harddrive is the one below:

The reason I chose Takealot over another company was because their shipping time was faster than any other company. Moreover, I planned to collect it from the Cape Town warehouse in order to speed things up even more.
I placed the order on: 2016-11-20 and, received confirmation from Takealot (below) that it would be ready for collection in 8 days, a fair amount of time in which to expect to pick up a harddrive.
Your order is being processed and you can expect your order to be available for collection by Monday, 28 November 2016.
However, despite tracking my order, it just said that the order was processing. I tried to contact Takealot for information yet received no answer whatsoever, or any word as to when the order would be shipped.
About to depart for a 3 month journey through Africa, I was starting to feel stressed, as this harddrive was essential for my backups and I couldn't leave without it.
On the 30th, 2 days after it was supposed to have arrived at the CT Warehouse, I went there to find out what was happening. I collected two other products that I'd ordered and that had arrived on time as expected, and spoke to a employee there who put me through to Take a lot customer service.
The gentleman on the phone told me that I should have been notified, but that the product was delayed by the suppliers and would likely arrive in three days. I was quite horrified, as I was meant to leave the following day. He was unable to confirm or to check with the supplier as to what the delay was, or if it would even arrive.
Now this is shocking to me as surely Takealot, by advertising a product on the website and guaranteeing a delivery, is promising that they can and will supply that product to their customer? I've used Takealot in the past and had no problems, so couldn't believe the service, or lack thereof, I was receiving. I then emailed takealot immediately, and received a response from Naashid Hassan, saying my query had been escalated and they would get back to me as soon as possible. However, no response was forthcoming, even after a follow up mail on the 1st of December.
I next received communication on the 4th of December, a full 7 days after its expected arrival at the Cape Town warehouse and a total of 15 days after my original order. More than 2 weeks had passed, and I still had no hardrive. By this point, I had entirely given up on takealot, but had made plans for someone else to collect it for me while I was travelling in Africa as I still wanted it - even though I'd ordered another hardrive and received it that SAME DAY.
This mail came from Yandiswa Busakwe and stated that they apologize for the delay and are still awaiting feedback and will revert soonest.
The next mail came 2 days later on the 6th of December from a Jamie Oliver, stating that the company is sorry that my item has been delayed and "we expect the item to arrive in our distribution centre within 2 - 3 working days. We will process and ship your order as soon as it arrives".
On the 8th December Yandiswa replied again: "Thank you for the proof of payment received" (note: it was received on the day of ordering, not sure what she is talking about here) . "Kindly be advised that your payment has been authorised and you will receive a delivery notification via sms as soon as your parcel reaches our warehouse. Please note the item is out of stock will do a follow up for the ETA of the item".
Next up was Timothy Smook just a few hours later, with some unsurprising news:
"Unfortunately we are unable to source the item you are looking for from that specific seller. Your refund is reflecting on your profile as a credit. (Please advise if you would like us to transfer the credit back to your original method of payment) Please accept our sincerest apologies if any inconvenience has been caused."
Now, does Takealot supply the items it advertises on its site or not? Surely it is false advertising, if they advertise an item and then do not provide it? And what about the fact that my money was sitting in their bank account for more than 2 weeks? Do I receive interest? Is a refund sufficient? What about the countless amount of time I spent following up on this order, at the warehouse, on the phone and via email? And the fact that they have reneged on their promise to supply a product that they advertise?
I think it's simply unethical to advertise a product you can't supply. And some sort of recompense should be made to the customer, or at the very least a proper apology. When I replied stating how unhappy I was with Takealot's service, I received no response.
Shoddy service, all the more so, because I love shopping online and I really had previously pleasant experiences with Takealot, thus my expectations were high.
takealot still refusing to refund me for my decoder
I need serious help, a complaints board or something...I cannot deal with these people anymore.
I bought a R599 DSTV decoder with free installation from Takealot.com
I struggled getting the decoder installed due to the fact that this decoder does not come with an installation voucher. I called Takealot to ask for assistance regarding the installation and their employee who had promised to call me did not call me back. I even called Multichoice, and all the installers were of no help. Nobody wanted to touch that decoder...there was no voucher.
Seeing that I was stuck with a product that was not working for me, and no one could assist, I decided to return the item to Takealot.com. The options that you are given that you select as reason for your return are not clear, so I selected the option that says unwanted item. Takealot has declined my return because they say, Multichoice have requested that takealot should not facilitate on their returns any longer, customers need to contact Multichoice regarding any difficulties concerning their decoders. But where did I buy the decoder? and who has my money? They want to return the decoder to me which I do not need anymore because I have bougt a decoder from Game which was installed the following day. I dont think they understand that I am not returning the item because they failed to assist as the person whom I purchased the product from. They are saying i failed to log the return within 7 days of purchasing it. I did not see 7 days on their policy, I saw 30 days on an unwanted Item. What happened to a customer first? I am saying they should refund me because, I tried to get the item installed on my side, I have paid them and have even seeked help from them as well. I have played my part. What does Takealot want?
I have a similar complaint.
I bought a Dell laptop that was defective. After sending it back to TakeAlot they informed me I need to sort the problem out with the manufacturer (Dell).
My position is that I purchased the item from TakeAlot and thus want TakeAlot to refund me for the product.
I have the same complaint against Takealot with a Dell monitor which exploded in my face. They requested return then returned it back to Me, saying take the matter up with Dell, Dell cannot track their own product code saying take it up with Takealot . I have asked Takealot to refund Me according to their 21 days T&C, s, but I am getting nowhere.Where do I go from here ?

Hi Please see below. I need someone to look into this service. Christmas is a special part of the year and gifts are bought till the last day. I was told to collect my order and the collections department closes at 5pm. There was a string of cars and Takealot took no responsibility. They just allowed the security to shut the gate and tell people to leave...
