Missing/stolen designer items
Don't send anything high quality to ThredUp. I've sent them 2 clean out bags in the past and had good experiences. This time I sent them a bag with my typical selection of low-end brands like Old Navy, Target, etc. but also included good condition Tory Burch and Kate Spade heels. When the bag was processed, suspiciously those designer shoes were rejected for resale! But they did choose to resell my Target, Old Navy, and unbranded items all priced under $20. I have a feeling they're redirecting high end items to another selling venue, have employees swiping items, or are just unorganized. Just sell your stuff yourself on Poshmark, folks.
Missing Shipment
I placed an order on 9/22/2021. According to tracking, both packages were left at my door on 9/28/2021 at 10:04am. This is not correct. I received just one shipment containing 3 items. My second shipment is missing (with a total of 4 items). I attempted to file a claim with Fed Ex but because this was a "Smart Post" order they can not help. I have reached out to both chat and email with no reply. I paid over $100 for this order and I want refunded for what I didn't receive! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The 888 number I found leads you to a dead end. No human to talk to. I have both the order number and tracking numbers.
Desired outcome: Refund of missing items
2 boxes sent in, 1 box accounted for
I sent two boxes into ThreadUp in early June, each was assigned a specific #, and in late August I was alerted one of my boxes had arrived with nothing in it; which is strange as one of the pair of shoes from this box is pictured in the payout of my other box . I am confused about this, as one box was 21lb, and the other was 19lb, and I have all the receipts for them and pictures as well. I sent multiple e-mails to "[protected]@thredup.com" as I could not get anyone on the phone or web chat. At this point I am not certain what I can do other than just write it off. If anyone can help connect me with someone who can assist I would appreciate it.
Here are the phone numbers I located for ThreadUp

Missing designer bags # 2TN2-7J926 & B25LGA-6B6K2
over 9 months ago Tgredup losses several bags of clothes of mine. I sent them emails dailey not til I threaten them with small claims did they decide to work with me. A supervisor named Mary offer to pay me 25.00 per bag which I kindly turned down they end up paying me almost 800.00 cus we found the clothes they so called losses on t here site for sale .. As of today There is 2 bags I haven't been pd for and one of those bags were mint condition 3 designer purses . One Gucci pink back pack ( rare) and 2 louis vuitton purses. I never signed anything with thred up stating I've been pd cus I was told not to and just sit back and wewill see those purses on there site for sale. Sure enough 9 months later we seen them. Now the bag they were placed in Mary the supervisor said they have no record of that bag but 9 months later that bag appeared on my account stating items being donated. Donated? Never in my life would I donated these purses your lucky to find the Gucci for less than 800.00 itself. I went to Mary and of course she states the purses aren't mine but of course she would say that . I've tried and tried to resolve this but I will not stop til.items are return or im paid for them..I also asked many if James Reinhardt was still the correct there and now she won't even respond to me. I could not run a business thus way . I thought I start here then go to the san Francisco district attorney office also sent a demand letter and I guess next step is small claims
Desired outcome: my items return or 400.00 cash
Stolen clothes
I sent in several bags and I wrote down all the items. A very rare leather coat, a Gucci wallet, a Vivienne Tam dress from the 80s with the goddess of fertility selling for thousands and a Kate Spade bag, among other items were never listed. I tried to contact customer service but said the items were not listed because they were flawed. I never wore the dress
Desired outcome: They told me the items were flawed
Order No. 8972291
July 3, 2021, I sent three handbags: one Dooney Burke, one Michael Kors, and one Coach, never used and in like-new condition. All I have received is confirmation of receipt by Thredup and notification that my goods would be processed in August, then September, and now October. In the meantime, Thredup is holding a sale right now of like items. I have contacted them and was told to 'wait' due to COVID. I would like my items listed -Thredup is scamming the public.
Unauthorized credit card charges
Aug 26th I received a $10.00 charge on my credit card that I didn't authorize.
I tried to reach thredUp with the merchant phone number provided with no success.
My credit card company cannot block this merchant, so I will have to order a whole new credit card to prevent this from happening in the future.
I would appreciate if thredUp would lose my number (credit card).
stolen item high dollar gucci pants , no notification, no return, not listed.
Sent in a very expensive pair of Gucci pink pants, they were stolen, intentionally and not returned, or even listed . This was the main reason i even sent in my bag . B2KQK -NAH3J, i Want records of where the exact pair went .
There is no notification these were not listed, no return sent back to me and they were not listed on the site. These were STOLEN from me ! and were the only reason the bag was even sent in.
The company stole these from me and their policy is set up as a scheme to keep doing this to everyone .
Company refuses to return items, do not use this company, they steal from people .
Desired outcome: I want my stolen item back as they are very expensive and i trusted the company no to steal them .
Customer Service/Communication
I have sent back 2 full Thred Up bags. The first, 5/19. I received confirmation emails for both, but that's it. Two months later & nothing. No customer service #. I tried contacting through chat online - no response.
Desired outcome: Update/Payout
Items were received by them and not being processed for 3 month and no reply
In March 2021 I have sent a large bag of clothing for consignment with threadUP, approximately 30 items. They received in the beginning of April . And till now my items are missing in action.. I sent numerous emails . They answered me in the beginning that they are busy and my items will be processed in May then in June and now they don't answer me at all . I would love to have my items back . Please help me.

Desired outcome: Receiving my clothes back or money
Item not received according to my building's automated scanning system.
I ordered a Coach handbag from Thredup that was never delivered to my building according to their automated scanners. Fedex said a refund has to be initiated by Thredup who I am unable to get ahold of on the phone. They are now trying to charge me for an account to get help about how to get a refund. The item was supposed to be delivered on May Sat., May 22. The building scanner does not have it logged in and Fedex did not request a signature. I have spent several hundred dollard with Thredup in the past year. If I am not issued a refund for this item, I will not order from them again. The Fedex tracking number is [protected]. Thredup order is [protected].
Desired outcome: refund for the item.
Unable to obtain any type of customer service.
On 05/21/2021 I ordered some items from thredUp. I chose the multiple payments option but was to be billed the entire amount. I tried for 1 hr. 15 mins. to request a change in the mode of payment. 7 times I was told that someone would be right with me to "Chat". I waited about 15 - 20 mins. for that "live person" to contact me via Chatbox at the website. 7...

I placed an order because the seller indicated the details about the item. I received the the item and it was not as described. I checked the web site to see if I made a mistake. There is absolutely no description of the item I purchased. I believe the seller led me on. Where is the description of my item? How come the description is not available now?
It's ridiculous that there is no contact number for this company. They probably knew they would be inundated with phone calls so they make it very difficult to contact them.
Desired outcome: Return the jeans at no cost to me
Impossible to return items
I ordered two items from THREDUP. They don't fit. When I purchased them it said that they were eligible for return. I went to the returns page and it is blank. There are no icons to press to start a return. The chat box is not helpful, they keep sending me back to the blank returns page. I am really unhappy with this site. You never can get in touch with them. No phone number, no customer support email address. BUYER BEWARE!
Desired outcome: All I want is to return my merchandise. Please provide a return number and address.
Clean out bags
I mailed a clean out bag and it was received by Thred up on 8/30/20. I placed two orders on 9/5/20 and 9/27/20 received these items with no problem. I can show that the payouts decreased by 2/3 of what I typically received for my clothing. My Cleanout bag is not processed still. I am quite sure Thred up received paycheck protection funds and had no problem sending my items they marked up dramatically to sell . As you can see my payouts went from 59$ -36$ to 4$, 5$, 10$ and they literally gave me nothing for Lilly Pulitzer that they sold. Thred up is committing fraud, misrepresenting payout and being mismanaged and they need to be sued for this.
Desired outcome: Fair payout and change practices
Missing Items from my bag
I sent in 2 bags recently. Both were filled with items all New with Tags. Most priced between $100-$200 - I know of at least 2 items that are missing from my bags, not listed and not returned. I haven't heard back from Thred Up, even though I have emailed twice already.
Brand new, popular brand shoes (nine west) sent for consignment but were not “selected” to be uploaded for sale
My complaint relates to the processing of clean out bag B2YKQ VB9WY. This clean out bag was processed on 10/3/2020. The details are documented in the attached slide, specifically:
- I sent 18 pair of shoes and Threadup indicated they accepted 66% or 12 pair were accepted for consignment
- Upon review of the accepted shoes, I noticed that the brand new shoes from very popular brands (e.g., Nine West) were not included in the "accepted" pair (I took pictures of the soles of the shoes to show that the shoes had not been worn - see attached slide
- I sent an issue to Threadup on 10/6 asking why those shoes were not accepted even though they matched the Threadup criteria of being a popular brand in unused condition. I requested the return of the unaccepted shoes. I have heard nothing back
- This is the fourth clean out bag I have processed with Threadup and each time, items just disappear - this is unacceptable
- I only send in popular brand items in excellent/brand new condition but I can't accept items that are highly likely to sale (e.g., brand new sparkly silver Nine West heels perfect for the holidays) are not processed and, given they are not selected, not returned requested.
- Given the issues I had in the past, this was a test before I sent my high end items (e.g., Louis Vuitton handbags, Manolo Blahnik shoes) - things are not looking good.
I would appreciate a response and the return of those unselected, brand new shoes. If not I need to recompensed for those products.
Seller beware!!!
I can not say enough terrible things about this crooked company. I have been in business, both corporate and as an owner for 25 years and this company is a sham! I sent over 5 overstuffed bags for selling and they have flat-out stolen from me. I thought that I had done my due diligence when I investigated online consignment, they came up frequently as a decent company. I was aware that their payouts were less than other companies but, honestly, it was worth it to me to let the online company do all the work, take the photos, list the items, etc. My mistake was that I didn't read the reviews from actual sellers. ALL of the clothes that I sent were gorgeous, clean, designer and in great condition-some still with tags. The list of labels included Dolce & Gabbana, White House/Black Market, Max Azria, Speigel, Donna Karan, Prada, in other words, there was nothing that didn't have a major label on it. There were $1, 000's of dollars worth of clothing. When they received my kit, they sent me an email that they accepted 54% of the items, which seemed low to me. I went on my online profile to see what was accepted and was surprised to see that a $1, 400 D&G black wool overcoat (sent in February, by the way. Not July!) was not accepted. I live in Florida so it was worn only a handful of times and Carrie Bradshaw wore the EXACT same coat in an episode of Sex and the City. It made me very suspicious, so I did some digging around. Wouldn't you know that I found my D&G overcoat for sale on the website, same coat, same size but in another seller's profile. Now I was really suspicious, so I continued to search for more items of mine that they claimed were unsellable and continued to find them for sale in other seller's profile-same clothes, all the same size as what I sent. You think this is COINCIDENCE! NO WAY! This company is taking the nicest items from seller's and claiming that the clothing "didn't make their cut" and then selling them, probably on their own (dummy) profile for 100% profit! So, they then claim that after ALL of the clothes I sent, I made $19.85. I couldn't believe it but decided to cash out and take what paltry money was there. When I tried to cash out (both with the Stripe and Paypal accounts) they claimed that they needed to verify my identity by emailing me a link to finish the cash out process. YEP! YOU guessed it! They never sent the link, after repeated attempts of "cashing out". The email address that they have on file is correct, in fact I have received several emails from ThredUp in the past. I will do everything in my power to ensure that this fraud of a company goes out of business. I regret ever having anything to do with this company, I should have donated these gorgeous clothes to charity. At least I would feel good about it. There is nothing this company can do to convince me that they are not stealing from their clients and I have contacted the State's Attorney Office in California, which is where the headquarters are and I encourage EVERY seller with a similar experience to do the same. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau.
This company really does steal your money and makes it IMPOSSIBLE to cash out! I never got the confirmation email either. SUCH a sham and now they are hiring expensive influencers like Caitlin Coving to promote them...I’m sure they didn’t let her cherry pick the Burberry scarf and designer items. Give me a break. Such a horrible company.
two bags mailed on the same day in march 2020
Two bags were mailed in March 2020. Only one was confirmed. The second bag had more designer handbags and jewlery. Never heard anything back and the company is impossible to get a real person to talk with about finding out what happened to the second bag. I had very good results in the beginning but this issue impossible! I can not find out anything through Thredup!
never received credit for a bag of designer clothes!
I sent to ThredUp a bag of designer clothes of 22 items in January 2020. I kept checking my account to see what they would keep and nothing ever showed up so I emailed towards the end of January. No response. But I did receive an email that said, "Please rate your call with Jessica". So I emailed again and still no response! I can't find an 800 number. It's INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING to not have your emails responded to and to not have the ability to speak to a human being!
