TurboTax Turbotax for tax year 2021

After I spent hours inputting my data into the program, it stopped working. When I clicked on the icon to open the program, it would not open. I talked to at least 4 different "specialists", none of whom had a clue. They sounded like they might not have graduated from high school. Finally, I found one person who could help me. I had to uninstall the software and re-install it. Then the program finally worked. I wasted at least 3 hours trying to find a competent person at Turbo Tax. They need to fix their software and hire more competent people.

I have used Turbo Tax for 6 years without any problems. Now my confidence in them is shaken and I might use another program next year.

TurboTax Two Rejections from Federal IRS

I have used Turbo Tax for over ten years without problems. My tax situation is very simple, basically social security and IRA withdrawals.

I originally e-filed on 1/31/22 and paid the fee to file my federal and state returns.

On 2/2/22, I was notified that there was a glitch in their software associated with the Affordable Care act 1095-A, /8962 Premium tax credit (I received a credit from the state for insurance I purchased) and advised me to refile after 2/10/22.

I refiled on 2/13/22 and on 2/14/22, I was once again notified of a rejection indicating I had entered 1099R information twice. I went into Turbotax today, went through all income again and found no error.

I resubmitted again today.

These are very odd occurrences - if my returns are not accepted, the instruction is that I would have to print and mail my returns.

I this is the case, I will not use Turbotax in the future. There is not reason.

Desired outcome: I would like Turbotax to explain how their software was not up to date on the Affordable Care Act supplement/credit that I entered and also why the software advised I had entered a duplicate 1099R when I did not do so.

TurboTax Free Turbo Tax

It's absolute garbage. After I upload a 1099-INT or 1099-R it cannot read the file, whether a JPG or PDF. I furnish my login credentials to the financial institution(s) and I get an error message that it can't find the document. "Let us impress you?" Far from it! Maybe it is free if all you have is a single W-2? Anybody else needs to upgrade. Bait and switch.

TurboTax Product/Service

I have called Turbo Tax 5 times in the last day. Their filing on uploading my State Return will not transmit. No help from Customer Service Support or follow-up. I paid for the deluxe package and would not resolve my issue. Sent a email stating "Congratulation You can finish your D-400". Never was able to upload. I have ask a Refund on my State Return. This company was great last year but service and support is horrible this year, I get a different answer every time I speak with someone or they do not know. Would not recommend Turbo Tax to my friends or anyone!

Desired outcome: Refund and personally would like a response from management after causing stress in my filing.

Do not recommend this company, will not follow up and resolve problem with Customer Support. Get a different response every time I call(5 times). Maybe a 3 star at the best.

I have used Turbo Tax for years. Never had a problem until trying to e-file my 2021 federal and state. I keep getting a message that says the Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending. I have already paid the $20.00 to file my state and if I send a paper copy now I will lose that money. I am so frustrated that I don't think I will ever use Turbo Tax again

TurboTax TurboTax Home & Business 2021

I was doing my daughter's 2021 taxes today. Two major problems surfaced.

1. I entered her quarterly estimated taxes (Both federal and state). When I completed data entry and ran the review, one reported error was for failure to make quarterly estimated tax payments. I double checked. The data is entered, and the form clearly shows the amounts, but the review ignores actual data and tries to compute a penalty form for failure to make estimated payments.

2. 1099-NEC data was entered, but not reported on the annual summary/comparison.

I've never had this kind of problems with TurboTax. What is going on? I'm ready to buy your competitor's software. At this point, I don't trust your app.

Desired outcome: Clean up your software before releasing it to the public.

I developed software for almost 3 decades in the past. I guess Intuit decided to skip the QA step of software development. I've used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and have managed to deal with the constant buy more services pop ups but buggy software is another matter. This years version is garbage. Software gets stuck in loops in a few places and the import function from services like ADP is like a treasure hunt. Then you get messages about waiting to Feb 22 before some options will be available. I also need to do my daughter in Tennessee's taxes. You would think they know there is no state tax in TN. but software keeps asking for it. Last time I buy this product. If basic software functions don't work properly who know how the filing will go.

TurboTax TurboTax Delux 2021

This is the worst software ever for taxes. Especially if you have income from more than one state. Even after answering all the questions the software wanted, I had to calculate 29 fields and correct on one field that even though I kept entering a zero it kept inserting a character that somewhat resembled a zero but was not a zero. Software tells you to make up a 5 digit pin for e-filing but when the e-file was submitted it was rejected. The pin has to match what the IRS has on file that happens to be 6 digits and the software will not allow 6 digits even if you go to the form and try to override it.

The state taxes were rejected because the federal taxes were rejected.

Desired outcome: Full refund. $42.39 for software purchased thru Costco. $42.40 for North Carolina e-file and $40.00 for Michigan e-file.

TurboTax Premier

Rejected our joint return because of "duplicate 1099-R's" Turns out my wife and I each had a 1099-R for the same amount.

I checked and rejected 6 times, thinking something so common should not cause their software a problem.

Now I see someone else has filed the same complaint.

What gives with TT?

Solution:

Turbo Tax Software Glitch: If husband and wife have the same 1099R distribution amount, from the same place, TT will reject the return.

Found this workaround on TT site: Add 50 cents to one person's distribution amount, and subtract 50 cents from the other person's distribution amount. This allows the return to be accepted, and, your total income remains the same.

Someone needs to send this to the TT software programming dept.

TurboTax Turbo Tax

Rejected for E File because I had two 1099s that had the same amount of distribution in different accounts. No way to correct and got 2 rejections from IRS. Had to print 13 pages and pay to mail and track the return. Did not have any problems with H&R Block filing previous returns. I have been receiving the same distributions for the last 9 years. There is no way to correct or to qualify that the return did not have duplicated 1099s. Faulty program.

Desired outcome: going back to H&R Block did not get what I paid for.

Solution:

The same thing is happening with me in Premier. A Joint return, wife and I each had the same 1099-R distribution amount. Rejected by TT software as "duplicate 1099-Rs. A major glitch.

No help from TT "experts."

I held off using TT for the past 15 years. Decided to try it for 2021. Is TT really this bad?

TurboTax Turbo tax deluxe, viewing and printing state returns and forms

I e-filed my 2021 taxes and went to print and save my forms. The print window says Maryland state tax forms cannot be viewed or printed due to forms not being finalized. Well i received my state refund today but still cannot print my state return. I have been using turbotax for a number of years and have never had an issue. This is very dis-heartening.

TurboTax Turbo Tax Deluxe for Mac

We have been using Turbo Tax for more than 20 years and have always been quite satisfied with the product. This year my husband ordered Turbo Tax Deluxe for Mac, since we now have an iMAC. What a mistake! This program is horrible! First problem is that it kept giving us an error about the auto save - saying you don't have permission to save - despite that it SOMETIMES it actually did save, but other times we had to work around it by making a copy. Then during the review it came up with a problem with "the use tax"...there was no indication as to what this is nor what form it was from; very irritating. Also it kept flagging a figure on charitable contributions, which it should have been able to correct itself, then when I corrected it, it would later revert back to the incorrect value. Finally, when we tried to efile the auto save box kept coming up with it's message about no permission, and then the transmission would fail; after 30 min, my husband was finally able to get the transmission through, but he doesn't even know how. Needless to say we will NOT be getting the iMAC version next year, and if this is any indication of changes to the PC version, we'll go shopping for a new tax program.

I found rebooting my iMac solved the problem, but of course I lost all my input data.

Now it is blocking me from entering my home realstate tax and medical deductions.

TurboTax Turbo Tax Free

The web site first page says "File for $0". So you go through the entire process and upload your tax documents and then at the very end after verifying your ID 5 times., they suddenly say you need to pay $ 168.00 to file.

Desired outcome: That their system file for $0 like the web pages states.

TurboTax Turbo Tax Deluxe 2021

I am trying to E file a tax return which is only a W 2 and a 1099 R Federal and the State of Rhode Island. I have continued for 3 days gotten an error message stating "The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty reading the data in your return you are trying to send. It tells me to update which I have and then says I may have to mail this return. Tax year 2021 are not available for transmission. Turbo Tax is not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this tax return".

I spoke to a Rep who had no idea why this is happening. I also tried to use this disc on another computer, spent an additional 20 dollars to E file and received the same error message. It seems the software is either not converting the data to be able to E file, or the disc is not right or there is a software problem. I need help with this or requesting a refund. Bill Lynch

I got the same message for the State of NC. I use Turbo Tax Premier. I use the CD to download the software and it gets updated each time I open the program.

TurboTax Unable to print taxes for Virginia

My federal tax was e-filed and accepted. My state Virginia was e-filed but have not received accepted. Unable to print VA tax. What is the problem?

Desired outcome: Submit and accepted e-filed state VA taxes.

TurboTax Turbotax 2021

Used this to file my taxes just as i have for the last 5 years. Because I am on Social Security an that is my only source of income, I have used the free filing for those years. This year they somehow charged me 41.57. there is nowhere to complain or get in touch with. A total scam now.

TurboTax Turbotax premier

Says state forms not ready (nj) can't view print or file! I tried the clean up tool uninstall states said done! Still didn't work! Tried to uninstall and reinstall still same problem! Tried uninstall and down load got message this number already used on another account. Looked problems up online says forms are available now! I have been using turbo tax about ten years or more never had problems! If I can't get this resolved soon I will be using a different program

TurboTax Joining up with Karma worst idea ever

I don't want credit Karma but I was forced to use it also I was forced to pay extra for my taxes when I get them free every year. Also when I was done I can't print my return. TurboTax was good last year but never ever again will I use them. Horrible and cost more money than they advertise. I am so going elsewhere next year.

Desired outcome: None but stop using Credit Karma most of us don't need it.

TurboTax Deluxe 2021

Last year, after installing, activating, and using TurboTax it required a (new, additional) activation code (it had already been installed on 5 computers). Intuit did not learn anything from all of us having that experience and the same thing happened at least once again with this year's version. In addition, on another installation it registered the activation code followed by an error message, so a similar problem that took over an hour on the phone to resolve.

I Tweeted about this unacceptable level of service, but received nothing but generic apologies.

I have been using TurboTax since 1998, possibly earlier, except for 3 years when I used H & R Block software. With Intuit's level of service, it may be time to use them again.

I bought my copy of TurboTax at Costco on 1/1/22 and the initial activation code is available on request.

Desired outcome: Return of the price I paid for a faulty product and/or some assurances that the error has been located and resolved.

TurboTax Turbo tax

It's not difficult to file taxes. Especially with how easy it has been made to import W-2's. But boy does TurboTax make it so. I see the control number and I type it out exactly as my W-2 says and it tells me that have it wrong. I then erase, copy, add and take off spaces. However, nothing is working and what do I get suggested? To by the $30 package just for them to enter my control number. The website has been programed so that the control number is wrong and thus, make us look for help. Lost a customer, which I'm sure you don't care about since I didn't have the PLUS. It's not like my review is going to change anything, but good to let it out, I guess.

Desired outcome: Answer: "Why isn't my control number accepted?"

TurboTax turbo tax business

I purchased both turbo business and turbo tax home and business, both programs lost all of my into - GONE - on the phone with turbo tax for almost 2 hours, no help, it has something to do with windows defender blocking the program, don't you think turbo tax should know that? now have to enter 4 hours of info all over again, really, next year HR Block

TurboTax Turbotax Deluxe Case #[protected]

I need to amend my 2020 tax return (local, not web based). I started my TurboTax Deluxe 2020 and it defaulted to asking me my license code. I put in the code and it returned error code 605 that my license code was not correct. This was the same code and software I used in 2020.

Spent three hours with customer service and was no help.I still need to amend my 2020 tax. I have everything I need on my desktop except a functional application.
