United States Postal Service [USPS] employees stealing from packages

After paying a fortune to have something mailed through them, they take it and their employees unwrap Christmas presents that are inside and take what they want. Yes it happened to me, and all they had to say was well it wasn't insured. REALLY. After paying a lot to mail it they want more money so they won't steal your stuff. What a joke.

I mailed a letter on a Monday from a Post Office in Indiana to a business about 4 miles away in Highland, Indiana. I used Priority Mail 2-Day with Certified Mail and Restricted Delivery. Certified Mail gives the piece a tracking number. Restricted Delivery requires the person to which the mail is addressed to receive it-nobody else is allowed to receive it...

United States Postal Service [USPS] does not work

Mailed a package to Houston 3 days ago...according to tracking, it is still in transit from Kansas City to Houston. Hell, I could have used the old Pony Express and gotten it there with more notification. Add into the mix, the lack of assistance from USPS clerks, it makes one understand why they are going bankrupt.

I paid money to establish a PO box with this post office. They keep returning my paychecks and letters from my children for no apparent reason. This post office has many African American workers. The employees allow homeless people to live around the building and they defacate and urinate right on the side of the post office building. San Diego is so...

United States Postal Service [USPS] missing parcel deliveries

After sending 2 cell phones to zip codes 55407 and 55408 to different recipients, and having neither deliveries made and disappearing, I have come to the conclusion that there are crooks working at these government facilities. Upon calling the 55408 post office, I spoke to the man clerk there whom couldn't give me a clue as to what had happened to the parcel or where they had forwarded the phone to. He wasn't apologetic at all, but instead having an attitude toward me. Also, another instance of a delivery to zip code 55407 where the delivery was just left outside the recipient's apartment door for anyone to grab! Someone please do something about these crooks!

United States Postal Service [USPS] bullying customers

I live in Minnesota. After moving home over the holidays 3000 miles, an incident happened in Texas regarding my husbands mail. I had filled out, online, and paid for, the individual move so that only my mail would follow me. It did, however, the Cleburne, TX postal worker who is very familiar with the way our mailbox is set up, decided to not deliver any of my former spouses mail, and instead, returned it.
He claimed that if the mail overflowed he had a duty to return it. Accept, he never put it in the box. Our tenant whose mailbox right next to ours on the porch, is always over-flowing because our tenant is too lazy to come get it but the mailman NEVER holds his mail or returns it so there's something weak about that argument.
Then the excuse became: "Well, the mailman didn't see any furniture in the front rooms so he thought the house was empty." Really? In the past years there has NEVER been any furniture in the front rooms because it's a Victorian home and the front parlors are never used! He knows that from the previous tenants and previous owner so that excuse doesn't work either. (These are the excuses given to us by the Manager at the Cleburne, Tx Post Office.)

Hence, my former spouse never got any mail for 10 days. Bills, gifts, (it was Christmas time, etc.)

This meant him not getting valuable information and Christmas money, etc. My former spouse then accused me of making a mistake and losing his mail in the process. It took days to solve and the post office dismissed our complaint.

A valuable document I found among my papers I had mailed back to my former spouse. It was returned to me. I already put 6 stamps on it and now it had to be sent back to him again, as he was still waiting for it at the same address that was on the envelope.

The form I filled out online, can be verified. I have a copy of it. In the mean time, the returned envelope still needed to be sent so I went to the Roseville, MN post office on County Road B2.

It had been years since I had been there, but counted on the friendly and helpful customer service I use to know.

When I got there, a fellow behind the counter, named John, (I had to ask him his name as he wore no ID), was rushing customers through, not making eye contact and making smart remarks.
"Wow, " I thought. "What happened to the crew?" A woman behind me, whispered to someone else "This place isn't as nice as it use to be...the workers are so rude..."

It was my turn, so I showed John the envelope and began to explain to him the problem. Before I could, he interrupted me and flatly stated, "Well, you filled out the form wrong.."

"No, I did not-" I started to explain again, he interrupted: "Well, I'm not going to argue with you, I'm getting a Supervisor."

"Good, " I stated, "that's exactly what I need you to do."

"Yeah, I knew you would." he retorted. And he wasn't joking. He sent me down to the end of the counter to wait. I waited 13 minutes. Still no manager.

"Do you think it will take much longer?" I asked, "I can't stay much longer." (I am a nurse and had to get going to a home care client who was expecting me.)

"Yeah, well I'll tell em again, " he said.
"Thanks, " I appreciate that.
"Yeah, I thought you would, " making it sound more like an accusation.
I began to study his body language for fear of him losing control.
"He'll get there when he can, " he said loudly, "they're busy you know!" He kept slamming things and raising his voice, continuing to rush his customers through, not bothering to acknowledge them even though it wasn't that crowded and he had time to be pleasant.

Two men walked out behind me while I was waiting and whispered to me: "Good luck dealing with these people, " they said, rolling their eyes, "it's not what it use to be."
All this time, a distinguished gray haired man, also working quietly behind the counter was taking it all in, though he said nothing.

He should have stepped in to help but didn't. He had no customers so not sure why he just stood there playing with receipts or what ever he was doing.

I asked John his name, (as up until then I didn't know it, )
"John, " he stated sarcastically, "Why?" he demanded.

"Because I need to have a chat with somebody." I answered.
"Yeah, I'll bet you do!"

I felt as though I was being bullied with sarcasm and John looked angry. He had no call to treat me or anyone else that way. He should be grateful he has a job.

That incident happened about a week and a half ago today during the afternoon. I hope someone handles this because bullying people and making them feel afraid to come back for questions or help with their mail is reprehensible. John shouldn't be working in the front.

United States Postal Service [USPS] delayed delivery

I mailed a package express mail on 11/22/13 for delivery to Cambodia. On 11/29/13 when I checked tracking my package was in Argentina being process for delivery! I called the post office 3 times, each time getting automatically disconnected after 20 minutes and so I decided to go to the post office to sort this out. I was informed that there was nothing they could do and to keep calling the post office number [protected]), which I'd already been doing. I asked about a refund for the error as my package would now be delayed due to error, I was told that the post office doesn't guarantee delivery and that no refund would be due no matter when it arrived. I finally got through to customer service and they told me it would take 5 business days before something could be done. My package was eventually sent back to the Miami processing facility on 12/8/13, it didn't leave the USA for it's destination until 12/11/13, my package finally arrived in the correct country on December 16th, taking a whopping 26 days for express mail!

for proof of this mess up, see tracking # EC556685129US

United States Postal Service [USPS] notice left (not)

Twice in one week I had a package to be delivered. The tracking said "out for delivery". Well I waited on these packages because they were birthday gifts. The postal carrier leaves my regular mail in the box but no package. The tracking information is updated to "notice" left.. But there's NO NOTICE. After I call the local post office to complain that I'm not being delivered my packages, the lady tells me it probably fell behind the seat and they had to scan something when the carrier returned "so they wouldn't get in trouble with the big dogs" This is actually what she said. Okay, I can see a mistake can happen. Five days later, exact same scenario.

United States Postal Service [USPS] stolen medication from mailer

Upon receiving the medication mailer, one end was torn open, there was no 3 month supply of medication. Contents included the invoice of purchase and amount paid in full, and an instruction sheet. On the outside of the mailer on top of the usps tracking #, correct address slip, a smaller usps tag was pasted with — "received unsealed and received without contents" stamped in red with kathleen fl. 33849, sept. 23, 2013. A tracking of the mailer was completed from phoenix, az. 9/19/2013, tampa, fl. And then to lakeland, fl. 33805, arriving 9/23/2013. No other information is on the mailer. Tracking # is [protected] 92.
This afternoon between 3:10 and 3:23, I spoke to mr. Kenney riley, at lakeland post office regarding this incident and was told this isn't their problem! I believe that an employee of the lakeland post offfice opened the package and removed the medication. E-mail [protected]@yahoo.com

Of course this is a scam. Bad people find gullible people on facebook and other social media sites and take advantage of them. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SEND THEM ANY MONEY! You do not know these people. Why would you send them your money? Do NOT respond to any further communications from any of these people, especially the guy you originally contacted on facebook. Actually, you would be wise to change your facebook name and email immediately so they cannot contact you in the future. If you have any doubts about them, please contact your local police department or some friends who have some common sense and tell them this story. And, next time, do not put your photo online, especially on a complaint site like this. Much too dangerous. There are some bad people out there. Good luck.

United States Postal Service [USPS] harrasment

First off, I want to start by saying I have worked out of the Flagler Beach Post Office for over seven years performing my duties exceptionally and efficiently and have never once threatened anyone with any kind of violence, verbal or physical. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I apologize for the seeming insubordination, and for any of my actions that may have appeared threatening in any way. But I do not apologize for at least trying to bring to light the constant harassment and the malicious, hostile, atmosphere we contract carriers endure on a daily basis not only from management but office personnel as well. Simply because, as we have been told; we are only contract carriers and not career employees.
I have worked under at least three supervisors in my seven years and have never had any issues with any supervisor except one, the supervisor in question Cheryl Joy Mortucelli. She has worked in and out of this office on several occasions over the years and has seemed to have developed a personal dislike for me.
She singles me out for any supposed violation of any new rule that I’m not aware I’m violating until after the fact, and (for lack of a better word) nitpicks constantly everything I do. She has called my spouse into the office and has harassed her and gone so far as to actually threaten her job because of supposed issues the supervisor has with me which had nothing to do with my spouse, her performance, or her route. She does this “thing” constantly where she will ask my spouse a question have her answer and then come over to me and ask the same question again later and I answer (not knowing until later that she had already asked my spouse and she had already given her the same answer). It’s as if she thinks we are lying to her. We both have noticed that she doesn’t act that way with the other carriers.
This, along with some past mishandled and unresolved situations between other carriers has created a very tense, malicious, even somewhat hostile environment in the Flagler Beach Post Office. Not only for me, but for other carriers, and has threatened to have an adverse effect on our job performance and overall morale. How can we do our job correctly when we don’t know if we are breaking a rule we haven’t yet found out about, and won’t know of until we are reprimanded?
There is a very real break in communication between carriers and management. There seems to be an abundance of mismanagement and miscommunication that causes tension between carriers, management, and office staff. So much so that it impedes unity, cooperation, and the implementation of new policies and procedures. It seems management either can’t or won’t provide documentation, details, or even benefits of the “daily new rule”. There have been so many new implementations, in fact, that with no documentation or procedural handbook to access, it has become very hard to discern the new changes from the old. There seems to always be some question as to whom and to what instances these constantly changing daily new procedures apply. As well as question over who has the authority to make procedural changes and implement them.
On the day in question Friday August 9th 2013, I was the last to leave around noon, the employee parking lot was empty of all other carriers and I was playing some light music through my phone while loading the mail under threat of possible storms later. Joy came out of the building on the way to her car and told me to turn the music down I said I will. I had my hands full and nearly dropped a tray loading it into the car. She then stalked over uncomfortably close and said “I told you to turn it down” I said “I will give me just a second” I still had mail and packages in my hands and would have passed uncomfortably close to her, without going out of the way, to get to the other side of my vehicle. I then made a decision to inform her that I was tired of her harassment I said “Joy this constant harassment has to stop” (I still had not made it past her to the other side of my car turn the music down yet). She stuck her finger up in my face and said “I’m giving you a direct order”. By that time, I’ll admit I was a little upset, I said “Joy you’re in my way” (she was still between me and the other side of the car)”and you just need to leave me alone for a moment”. She said “fine” and stalked off to her car. I then went to the other side of the vehicle, picked up my phone and turned off the music.
I wanted to resolve the matter and felt that I needed to record the conversation for my safety. When she got in her car I tapped on the window, (I would like to make it abundantly clear that I did not beat on her window as accused), and she would not roll down or even crack the window, or even look at me. She then pulled out of the parking lot very close to where I was standing and drove away.
When she got back I had just finished loading the vehicle and was smoking a cigarette to calm my nerves. She said nothing to me and wouldn’t even look at me as she walked by. I said again” Joy your harassment needs to stop there are laws that protect employees from this, even contractors”. She just walked on by and never said anything to me, or even looked at me. I then got into my car, drove away, and delivered my route.
I feel I should state that I do not like confrontation at all and will go out of my way to avoid it if necessary. I was not trying to usurp her authority or disobey a direct command but she really did not give me a chance to comply before blocking my path and becoming very irate which caused the escalation. I’ve even taken to the extreme of wearing headphones the whole time I am in the office to try to stay out of the postal drama, but unfortunately it apparently hasn’t worked.
I would really love to keep the contract. It’s kind of a sweet job delivering and interacting with my customers, some of whom I’ve had the pleasure to see their children grow up along with mine. It’s taken years to win over some of my customers who, when I started had a really bad attitude toward the Postal Service and its carriers. Some still do and I constantly try to go above and beyond to change that attitude. To the point of walking the mail to a customer in a wheelchair, helping an old man up who has fallen on the sidewalk, loading a lawnmower up a ramp for a customer who is struggling and in danger of having it fall on him, pushing a customer who is bound to a chair out of the gravel and back onto the sidewalk, or carrying the mail to the door when Mrs. Brown at 328 11th Street’s yard floods to the extent she cannot make it to the mailbox in her car much less on foot. I even carry dog treats for the customer’s pets, and one Sunday replaced a mailbox post for and older customer when the post rotted and the box fell.
I’ve even helped get a goat out of a fence for a frantic customer, bandaged a dog bite for a Boy Scout, returned a lost dog for an upset customer, and helped push a car back down the road to a customer’s house while he signed a certified letter I had to deliver to him. My spouse and I’ve even recently been told by a customer who had a very bad attitude when we began, that we are not allowed to go on vacation anymore because “I don’t want anyone else touching my mail”.
My wife and I have worked as a team for the past seven years. We have helped other carriers fix their vehicles or helped them deliver when broken down on the route. In one instance on Christmas Eve I helped a carrier deliver her route when her vehicle broke down, helped her find her scanner that she lost when her vehicle broke down, and fixed her vehicle so she could deliver on the day after Christmas. My wife and I have subbed every route in the Flagler Beach Post Office often running three routes together in one day with minimal if any issues.
I have always subbed her route and she has always subbed mine, whether we were both present or not. They are both small routes and neither one pays enough for an actual sub. We perform these duties constantly on a daily basis efficiently and with minimal issues for either route, or the extras we sub for.
It has always been common practice to give each other time off by trading work or making a little extra money subbing for another carrier. Every other supervisor we’ve had has called other carriers to sub an extra route during an emergency. It’s what makes this job flexible and different from any other. It also makes it more worthwhile and helps the carriers help each other if one is struggling or has an emergency. We’re already there and trained. If that option is taken away it not only hurts morale but the whole stability of the Flagler Beach Post Office. Besides, how then can a contractor own four routes sometimes run two large routes in one day and allow her subs to run more than one route in a day on a constant basis?
Since the event in question had no other witnesses I can only give you my account of the event and my personal feelings. I feel the music wasn’t loud; it definitely wasn’t derogatory in any manner, and I feel that the Supervisor felt a need to single me out and assert her authority and didn’t give me a chance to respond to the request. I felt she became irate too quickly and escalated an otherwise perfectly simple harmless situation. I certainly did not want any kind of confrontation.
What I don’t understand is how can a carrier physically threaten another carrier in front of the supervisor and nothing comes of it. At one point a female carrier asked me to stay until she could load up and leave because she was worried about what the other carrier (a man in question) might do. I on the other hand simply have words with that same supervisor (never threatening, never raising my voice, and never using foul language) and because she feels that I didn’t respond to a direct order quickly enough with my hands full and then with her inadvertently blocking my path and becoming irate, I am the one in danger of losing my job. A job in which I have worked as a team with my spouse diligently, efficiently, and exceptionally for seven years, and whenever possible have on many occasions gone above and beyond the call of duty and customer service.
I can, if need be, provide witnesses to the harassment and the constant confusing policy changes that occur every day it seems. As well as the mismanagement and irresolution of previous situations that has occurred. This has prompted a tense hostile atmosphere and lack of teamwork and cooperation and general trust in management and office staff.
I know this is pretty long winded but I feel if my job is on the line I might as well try to make a change for the better for the other carriers (some of them friends and family) who will still have to endure the terrible environment that permeates the Flagler Beach Post Office. Once again, I apologize, but maybe this situation was inevitable and will work out for the best.
Thank you and have a good day.

This post office ALWAYS overcharges. They think we are stupid. I've been in the mailing business for 40 years. Worst post office ever. I tell everyone to stay clear of this one. Go to Ormond Beach. More professional.

United States Postal Service [USPS] not the usps!!! fake!

I was never informed nor did I knowingly agree to a charge of $39.95 to process a change of address which looked for all the world like the USPS site. These pigs took $39.95 from my account which you would ordinarily use to process a USPS change of address where they charge a dollar.

Bing search engine makes this site look like the USPS. BEWARE! I no longer use Bing search and you shouldn't either.Second time I was srewed using Bing. Never again.

United States Postal Service [USPS] package travels 1,150 miles in wrong direction!

I mailed a package from Lindsborg, Kansas to California on April 22nd 2013 to the correct address. The package went East 385 miles {not West} to DES MOINES, IA 50395 Depart USPS Sort Facility where it sat for 3 or 4 days. Then it was sent 190 miles to Kansas City. Once at Kansas City it was sent 190 miles back to DES MOINES, IA 50395 ! After traveling 1, 150 east of Lindsborg, Kansas it was sent to California. Today is April 30th and the package has still not been delivered! This is not the first time I have experienced this kind of problem with the USPS. I am just 1 person, just think of the other 300, 000, 000 + people in the US alone who have most likely experienced just 1 experience like this? And Congress shrugs of the USPS loss of $25, 000, 000 per day. YES, the USPS is losing 25 MILLION dollars each and every day!

Here is the tracking # 9449009699939823591381

Have a look at 6the path of this item!

The USPS complains all the time they are not making money. I wonder why! Here is one for ya...I paid to mail a large box for a 2 day delivery and had to pay extra for that service. It took over 6 days to deliver the package. When I complained I was told by a very rude postal employee they don't guarantee delivery times. Then why did I have to pay extra for a 2 day delivery? The USPS is a fraud and a joke. They need to go out of business. We no longer mail packages by them, we now only use FedEx and they always deliver as promised.

United States Postal Service [USPS] not getting my mail when there is a substitute carrier

I am a person with crippled hands that lives in an apartment complex with a stand alone mailbox. I cannot get my hands in the box. I have done everything the USPS requires to have my mail delivered to the mail slot in my door. I always know that my regular carrier is not working because I don't get any mail for days at a time. I have to call every time to get my mail. I have missed time sensitive deadlines because I have not gotten my mail. I have had mail sent back marked undeliverable because the carrier was too lazy to walk across to my building. I have gotten bills late or not at all. I tried to call the postmaster to day and got no answer. I have not received mail in 3 days. This happens at least every other week.

My immediate supervisor, Felix Sapien, has for the last 3-4 months continued to bully and harass me regarding my attendance. I know how important it is to show up for work and be gainfully employed. For the last 3-4 months I have been very ill off and on. I am currently going through a divorce that has been very stressful, and it has really taken a toll on...

I have 3 boxes shipped Priority Mail (1-2 day delivery) that have not been delivered. The oldest box was shipped on 1/14/21. There is still no estimate of when it will be delivered. Same for a box shipped on 1/15/21. These were packages send to a location less than 20 miles from where they were mailed. I just learned that one of the Christmas boxes I sent to Florida arrived 10 days late? The post office just announced a rate increase for 2021. It will cost even more for bad service. A privately owned or publicly owned company would be out of business with this type of service. I fully understand the challenges with increase shipping volume, COVID and other employee issues. I work for a large sales and distribution company in the USA and I deal with these issues on a daily basis. However, it is apparent that no steps are being taken to rectify the situation at local USPS distribution centers. I am hoping I can get a refund of now more than $80 for late deliveries.

Mailed item from Los Angeles to Virginia with USPS Tracking. Tracking shows the item arriving at USPS in Bell Gardens, CA 90201 - sort facility but never leaving. Assumption - USPS employee stole my package. Day after day I am promised a phone call from a detective but never receive one. All they do is stall and won't lift a finger.

There's definitely a crime ring within the post office (most likely sorting facility/carriers) because there is no excuse for this continuing trend of missing/stolen packages. My packages (both when sending and receiving) are disappearing at the Long Beach (90809) sorting facility. The tracking tells me that this sorting facility was always the last stop...

United States Postal Service [USPS] incompetence and lack of responsibility

The USPS must have a policy for hiring incompetent people and rewarding them for doing a poor job. We ship hundreds of packages each week and it astounds me how idiotic their handling of problems are when they lose a package. Latest case is a package that was last scanned at the local CA sorting facility and per tracking has not moved since (almost two weeks). After a number of lengthy phone calls (being on hold for the most part) someone who must surely be the least intelligent person on earth at my local 'USPS consumer affairs' office tells me that there's nothing she can do because the 'sorting facility works nights and consumer affairs doesn't so I can't contact them'! The most disturbing part of it all is how OK USPS employees seem to be with their inability to perform simple tasks. When I remind them that besides the lost merchandise I have paid them to perform a service (deliver a package from A to B0 which they clearly have not, their response is 'well the package wasn't insured'. What exactly are we insuring against? Your inability to do your job? Name one other business that operates this way. I have even emailed the Post Master multiple times through their website and have not ONCE gotten a response.
Absolutely worthless. There must be legal recourse against the Post Office. Taking money and not doing the job amounts to nothing less than fraud in my book.

I couldn't agree more. I sent a package from midwest going to California with Tracking Service. It was sitting on the "Parcel Locker" for more than 30 days. My friend went to the post office and the staff said they will call her. She never received a call. Now I'm still waiting for a resolution.

I completely agree with you! There's no excuse for the poor/non-existent service. My packages (both the ones being sent and the ones I'm supposed to receive) are disappearing after entering the Long Beach sorting facility! The only logical reason is that there are thieves working at these sorting facilities stealing our packages. If you search "USPS stealing" on Google or Youtube, you'll find that it's been happening to many people. Most of the time it's the mail sorter or the supervisors who are the culprits. Also, it shouldn't take long to solve if someone just monitors what's going on in these facilities. Also the fact that no one contacts us after we report these problems is just stupid and inefficient. How do we know they're doing their jobs? This whole system is a complete failure.
