On April 12, 2010 I took a prescription for ten 75mg. Fentanyl Duragesic Patches and Hydrocodone 750mg. I picked the ten 75mg. Fentanyl Duragesic Patches up on April 12, 2010. The Hydrocodone 750mg. Was not filled because they said that it was not covered by medical. I said it must be covered because this is medication that I take. I was asked what was the...

I've been trying for weeks to get a prescription from Walgreens Mail Service Pharmacy . This service is being offered to members of AARP. To begin with they are very S-L-O-W. (We have also dealt with Prescription Solutions through our plan with AARP and their service is blindingly fast by comparison and we have never had issues with them in any way. The only reason we went with Walgreens for this prescription is because it is not covered under our Medicare plan and it was much less through Walgreens. In the future cost will not matter because the stress of dealing with Walgreens makes it no value.)
Okay, so they are slow but since they don't even acknowledge receipt of the order by email or phone I thought it would be best to check to see if they received it. I called and got a recording that told me the order was being processed and would be sent out the next day. Days went by and no prescription so I called and spoke with a person. This time I was told it could take 5 to 10 days for delivery. Still no prescription, called once again and was told it was sent to my address but in another city. The person I spoke with checked and said the records were correct but no explanation for why it was misdirected. That person promised immediate correction of the problem. Because it was a Friday and the following Monday was a holiday I was told to look for the prescription the next week.
Becoming a bit wary of Walgreens effectiveness I checked by phone the next week and was told that the prescription would be delivered the following day. I asked the person to check and make sure it was being addressed properly and was told it was not being mailed, it would be sent by a carrier. I asked how the carrier was going to deliver to a mailbox since that was the address that Walgreens had for mail order service. Ooops! I asked to speak to a supervisor and after some hassling with that person she finally agreed to check with the carrier to see if she could have the shipping address put on the package rather than the mailing address. (We live in a rural area and do not receive home delivery of mail. Had Walgreens bothered to ask for a delivery address OR had they informed me initially that they would be reshipping this way I would have made sure they had the house address.)
The "supervisor" I was speaking with said she couldn't make any change to the address as yet because the carrier hadn't received the package. She told me I should call them later that evening and the following morning to be sure the package was being routed properly. At that point I was really becoming annoyed - I do not work for Walgreens I am the customer - it is not my place to have the package rerouted. Indeed, it seems as though it would not be legal for a shipper to reroute a prescription drug shipment on the say so of a member of the public who was not the original shipper. What is the matter with this picture?
Finally, the "supervisor" agreed she would take care of the matter and said "she would keep me posted". That never happened and the prescription, which was to be sent overnight, never arrived.
Now it is the day after the "delivery date" and once again I called - recording said the shipment was delivered yesterday. Huh? Telephoned again and asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the reason the prescription was not delivered...the carrier could not deliver to a mail box! Oh spare me!
I explained that this matter was supposedly corrected days before and requested that the matter be investigated further. She told me to call the carrier and find out why the package was not delivered on time. Once again I went through the explanation that I did not work for Walgreens...yadda, yadda. So she grudgingly called the carrier and then came back on the line and told me it would be delivered today. She also promised she would call me back and keep me informed of the status. She did not and the package was not delivered, so I called the carrier myself. I had little success, was told it was Friday and because they only had a mailing address it was not going to be shipped until next week.
Called Walgreens once again and this time was told that the carrier had attempted delivery today and the day before and was unable to deliver. That is utter nonsense, there has been someone here both days waiting for the shipment. Then I was told I could go to my local Walgreens and could pick up a few pills to get me through until the shipment arrived, that Walgreens would pay for that. Yeah right, it is a 20 minute drive to get to my "local Walgreens", were they planning to pay for my gas too? No.
This is a ridiculous way to run a mail order prescription drug service which is touted as a service for seniors who are members of AARP. Walgreens apparently misplaced my original prescription because I learned they even called my doctor's office for a second prescription for the reshipment of the prescription. The real kicker is that I discovered this afternoon that they had actually charged my credit card one cent as a charge for reshipping! What sort of insanity is that?
Once this mess is over I hope to never have to deal with Walgreens Mail Order Pharmacy again.
refused photo scan
I walked into the walgreens and proceeded to the photo counter where this elder lady customer was getting her purchased professional photos scanned and reprinted by a walgreens employee, when another walgreens employee approached me and asked if she could help me. Well I said, yes i would like to get my photo scanned and reprinted just ike she is doing as I pointed to the customer that was in front of me. And the lady who was helping me stated that walgreens could not do that for me unless I had the copyrights to photos that I purchased. I explained to her that the photo was purchased and it belonged to me. It was a photo of me, and she said to me...do you have the copyrights? so she refused to scan the photo and copy it for me when you guys advertise photo shop and putting photos on cups and plates and mock magazine covers. So I dont understand why she asked me if I had a copyright of my own photo. Then as I walked away, her and the other co worker was laughing at me.

My passport photo was rejected because too much hair was in my face, lighting, and blurriness of the Walgreens photo. Is there a refund policy? I feel like the photo department is not trained to take these photos, and there is a big difference between the post office photo and the Walgreens Quality. Thank you.
I agree with you Erin Sadle that comment about "sulking like a ten year old" was uncalled for and rude. It is insulting to ten year olds since they can act more mature than this person acted.
Also if you look people are telling Irish to behave herself also. If you wanted to come to a site that is professional, this is not the type of site. Lately it has turned into a teen soap opera more than anything. However till you can admit you were wrong as well you won't get far. Irish may gave been rude to you, however you called freetrialisnotfree an idiot and she was polite in her posts. That was uncalled for. YOu acted childishly and rudely to her and she did not stoop to your level. No she replied in a positive way.
Like someone said, the laws are different from state to state. Maybe the laws in freetrialisnotfree's state are different than yours?
Erin, no one is attacking you. If you looked you would see I posted the same to Irish. However I agreee on one thing. This is not a professional site. Besides you were wrong also. Irish(a girl BTW) may not have made her statements nicely but freetrialisnotfree did, and you called her an idiot. Also what's with "she started it" attitude. No one is jumping on you. We are just telling you that both you and Irish are acting childish. Two wrongs don't make a right.
ErinSadler, while you may not agree with other people's comments and opinions no need to result to childish name calling. You and Irish are the ones who need to grow up. Freetrailisonofree is posting their opinion better than yours. The one that needs to grow up is you. If you are an adult you should be able to state your opinion without name calling. Irish is a 15 year old girl, perhaps you are also and don't know better? Same goes to Irish. Also Erin, instead of calling people idiots why don't you first research the laws about this.

Yes. We are totally discriminating. Call your insurance. The card will reject and not even let us put it through. Will not let u sign up for rewards. Any government or federally funded insurance
Have the pharmacy call your doctors' office and explain the situation.
Ugh, sounds like a bad experience overall... contact the district manager (find out who it is) and DEMAND a response.
If they lost it, they should find it. There really isn't a good reason to lose someone's prescription...
Find out who the manager is, and talk to them. if that doesn't work, find someone at corporate.
good luck.
attitude
First of all this store is the worst drugstore I have ever been too. They are never prepared with your prescription they always act like they are on their computer screen and they have a prejudice towards white people because they think the world owes them something because they are black. I asked them to loan me one pill (Zoloft) which I have been...

At the Walgreen's pharmacy at 39th and SE Belmont, they have a window for dropping off prescriptions. Fine idea as the transactions only take 30 seconds or less. This window is invariably closed at this store, and who knows at how many others. So they direct me to the pickup line which has a long line so it will be 15-20 minute wait for me to toss in my 20 second drop off. There were three pharmacists at that drop off window and they just didn't care.
I have quit using Walgreen's twice; once when they gave my prescription to someone else and gave someone else's prescription to me. Once when the pharmacist was very snotty to me several times though I was polite.
And now this. I'm going down for the third time and I don't care if I have to walk the extra 6 blocks to Fred Meyer. At least they are fast and accurate.

on line script refills
I ordered my prescription refill on line one week earlier than pick up date and it was not ready for pickup at the pharmacy. I checked before I had logged off, and it was in my "cart", but the assistant at the pharmacy informed me that it had not been placed. I was then informed (in a not so pleasant manner) that it would be at least another hour before it could be filled. I do not have easy access to transportation in this very small town, thus it was quite an inconvience for me.
fair scheduling
I have a store manager who is being in my belief, unfair towards me. She says I am slower at doing tasks on the floor, which is a bunch of "Betty Crocker" in my book and several others as well. So, she schedules me More nights and weekends now. Used to be one night a week or a weekend. Others have better schedules than I. They only have to work one weekend day and all days or one night in the week! She puts me on a weekend day and now one or two nights?! I have been with the company 15yrs! She offers me no other positions in the store, only checkout! What an insult! I see FAVORATISM!

fired
My name is Jon; I joined the Walgreens management team in January 2008 and was recently discharged. During the two years that I worked for the company I’ve noticed that in many cases that justice is handed out totally at the discretion for the Manager there at the moment, is this Walgreens policy?
It is strange to me that nothing in my history with Walgreens was taken into account prior to making the decision to dismiss me. The fact that I had nothing but GOOD customer feedbacks and my last evaluation I was rated as exceeding standards seemed to mean nothing, is that policy of Walgreens?
I’m a retired vet and in the military issues are black and white for the most part. If someone isn’t performing their duties you talk with the person and have them correct it, you don’t discharge them with on warning and you always look at the person history to see if this is out of character for them since there may be another problem behind the situation.
I my case I admitted to loosing my temper with and employee and yelling at her. The situation started when a customer approached me complaining that she had been sitting in the drive-thru for 20 to 30 minutes and the pharmacist was ignoring her. The customer walked to the pharmacy to talk to the pharmacist face to face and 30 to 60 seconds later the pharmacist called for me to come to the pharmacy. I called her and said I know what it was about and to handle it, she hadn’t even tried if it had been less than a minute. Then she called the clerk at the front register and had them call me, at that time I when to the pharmacy and that was what I lost my temper, she didn’t even attempt to handle the situation. When I arrived the customer in question was standing back at the wait here line several feet from the register, waiting.
I, and other MGT’s, had complained to the Store Manager on many occasions about this one pharmacist, that she has problems working alone and if a customer becomes upset, whether rightly or wrongly she tends to make the situation worse. Even her communication skills with us the MGT’s is questionable, so I can understand how the customers may become upset. Just the night prior to this situation I had problems with her communicating with me, I was assisting a customer in the drive-thru, I had to ask three times what the wait time was because the pharmacist, three times, talked about other customers in the store and that she was busy. I affirmed that she was busy but that wasn’t answering my question, the customer wanted to know what to come back.
In my situation I admitted to getting angry and loosing my temper. This was the first and only time I did, and that seemed to be forgotten in this. I’m known for keeping my cool in very, very stressful situations, in fact my store, at the time #925 in Tucson AZ, I was robbed at gun point. I had two mask gunmen come in point a gun in my face and made me empty the safe. Even in that situation I had the frame of mind to lead them to the office in a way that they wouldn’t see my co-worker, another MGT, so he could get away and call 911. We then moved to a new store “10879 and may of the problems we faced in the old one where gone. So please believe me when I say that when I lost my temper that night it was months of handling customer complains on this one pharmacist and reporting problems and nothing happening to correct it.
I was told I created a hostile work environment; the definition that I read this doesn’t fit. There must be more than one instance to create an “environment”. Also trying to correct a performance problem is no where in the description. I have started to consider that there may be other reasons why the manager decided to dismiss me instead of other actions, it could have been a personal thing or may because I was openly gay and he had a problem with that. I would have considered moving if he had personal reasons for keeping the pharmacist. This would have been bothersome for me since my store was a 5 minute walk and I love my area, but I would have moved if need be.
I loved my new career at Walgreens, I’m the kind of person that says and always tries to make improvements. I retired after 20 years in the US Air Force and I thought I found a career that suited me and that I could feel proud of. I feel that not having any appeal process is wrong and hope this can and would be corrected.

Walgreens, Fox Point, WI 53217
I live across the street from this Walgreens and shop there several days a week. Yesterday I ran out of change for the washer and needed to grab a few things as well. When I got up to the counter to checkout, I asked if it would be possible to get some quarters. Tori said, "Umm we are not a bank, so no, we don't do that" in a very rude tone. I immediately asked to speak with a manager, and she rolled her eyes at me without responding and paged a manager and she was clearly unhappy about doing that. When the manager was coming around the counter from Photo, she yells across the store "HE WANTS QUARTERS". I wanted to speak with Manager after what she said. If that was true and Walgreens won't give change, then I would not ask for it in the future. This was apparently not a store policy but rather a Tori policy. I was extremely offended by her lying to me, and then screaming across the store for everyone to hear that I wanted quarters was a little embarrassing. While waiting for the manager to return, she told me "ya know, sometimes we run out and we just...we can't just be doing this". When the manager brought the quarters over I thanked him, and nicely remarked "No problem". He stood there as Tori completed the transaction and as Tori was opening her drawer, she said "I HATE OPENING MY DRAWER". The manager said "quiet" to her, and she responded with "WHAT, WE GET IN TROUBLE FOR THIS" as she threw the $20 bill inside the drawer. Again, if this violates Walgreens policy by making change for customers, I simply won't ask and that is ok. I just don't appreciate being treated like a nuisance and talked down on by a cashier who should just ring me out.
I have never had any complaints about any other employee in that Walgreens, and I've been coming there for years. I really like going there and that is why I want to bring this to your attention so something can be done.
Well, I was recently fired for being late ? after being at walgreens working in the pharmacy for almost 3 years, they said, My performance was great and I had customers always comment my work and how fast I managed to get there refills from the doctor and their rx out to them. I feel I should get an appeal as well, because i nkow i was late 5 minutes a lot of times but when i knew i was going to be late one day and called my manager said, oh, well calling now dont matter ? I was furious, meanwhile other member never called and came in 45 minutes late called out all the time, I never even used my sick days and called out 2 times out of the 3 years, what a joke, and having 3 kids to support I was in shock . but i am in th mist of calling them to complain it was not right after being certified and always promised SR .tech it never even happen, looks like if you do not kiss the right butts, and you seem like more of a leader they just get rid of you .
walgreens doesn't care about it's employees, thing is, you make the wrong person mad you're gone, i still work at walgreens but was hired in as an MGT in 2006 and demoted in early 2009 because of my "performance" never once received a does not meet expectations. always meets or exceeds, showed up to work every day, never called in sick, never went home sick, worked hard, employees respected me...that was the problem, they respected me and not the store manager, Dennis Skaanning is a [censored] bag, I requested a transfer because he singled me out and made my life hell, there fore it was my fault and Tim Kjol, our "Community Leader" and Terry Harper decided I was a problem manager, wrote me up and transfered me under the "probationary period" type of thing. worked hard at the new store, same thing there, employees worked hard for me, i worked hard, but I didn't put up one sign one day, and boom, next week demoted to a photo specialist. that was about a year and a few months ago. since then i've had one performance review and who'd of thunk it, exceeds expectations all over the thing, the new store manager i work for, cassandra dierks is pretty awesome, willing to teach and mentor and help people get to where they want to be, so fear not, not all managers are bad, but in my experience, a big chunk are, our new dm, rick dinkle he's kind of an idiot as well, but ya know something? it doesn't matter much, corporate folks are driving walgreens into the ground, stocks are dropping, hours are being cut, it's sort of a tail spin and we're about to crash, those of us that stick with it, we might get to move back up in the company, those that don't well there's other jobs out there.
very rude pharmiscts
The 2 females that work at this Walgrees Drugstore should not be working there. Their nasty atttitude, & not checking what they give out can cause a huge problems in the near future. I was overdosing for 4 months until my Dr noticed that I was given the meds that are both the same. Mia the manager told the Store
Manager I was beligerent, I could I be when I was in a uniform, Barb was nasty to me, when I question about my insurance she threw the bottle, I told me she had no time to call the insurance company, in the Drive thru
it was worst.
I have to say that it was always horrible to drive there. How can Walgreen have people like these 2 working for their company. Walgreen's motta is having respect for the customer, what a line of croc at this drugstore.
The Store Manger is polite & a good listener, but he has his hands tied, they don't listen they think they are better than him, I think, because they get the big bucks.
Well, that place has lost me as a customer.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Walgreen's is a pretty picture on T.V but if the people really new how the CEO treat there employee's they would steer clear of all Walgreen's. Walgreen's is over charging there customers. I use to work at a Walgreen's and they fired me for No reason. Walgreen's is a terrible drug store and I would never go there to get my medication. Walgreen's underpays and over works there employees. They will crash and burn if they keep it up.
treatment
i was treated badly as a customer @ a jackson walgreens, monday march 8, 2010. i could hear the conversation between the tech and the insurance company. she said she could not read the writing. this is the only store that fills my perscription, the only doctor that i use & i seem to get one tech all the time. which seems to be very rude. i was over charged and was told that my insurance would not pay for the perscription and i could pay for it myself. which i did because i called my company and i paid the full price for this medicine. i could hear her telling the nurse when she called to verfy what she thought it was and of course the nurse agreed and thus that was the way it was filled, despit my objections. it was not only different from what i usually get, it was twice the price. i am medical personnel i understood every word that was said. it seems as though i was treated this way because they thought i didn't know any better. is this the way you treat people all the time. i am looking for a new phamacy. i will not accept this treatment. and to add insult to injury i did not get a full month's supply.

no brains in that pharmacy dept.
After a long bout of oral surgery I went to fill pick up my prescriptions which had been called in by my doctor's office. The doctor requested I hand them the prescriptions to confirm the correct items were filled. The prescriptions had my name, address, and DOB written on them.
Wallgreens:
-----------------
- First asks me my name (after looking at the prescriptions!)
- Gets confused and takes a long time back and forth, presumably because I handed the written prescriptions over, even though they had been called in.
- Finally, insists on me telling them my address. I said it is on the prescription, and this started more discussions and delay. They came back to me and said they had to have me provide verbal confirmation of my address before they could give me the Rx. Now, I had minutes ago handed them this information, written down on the Rx, and they had been attending to me during the entire intervening few minutes. So I rather painfully vocalized my address, to get my prescriptions, but not after first saying "hurts" and pointing at my mouth, after which the lady again said she couldn't release my prescription without verbal confirmation of my address (which as I said was written down on the Rx I just gave to her).
I was in enough pain that I dared a little more so I could get the means to make the pain less. But It sure left me unhappy, and incredulous that such lunacy and pure brainlessness actually exists.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Wow, what a shame @skywlf77, It is required when anyone pickes up we verify the the correct name, and address and if not the same to update it, and being if you were picking up pain meds it is very crutial do to the high volume of " FAKE RX activity that goes on, but in your case I would have asked for your ID, or handed you a pen and paper, becasue if we sell the wrong RX to you I the tech can get fired and u the pt may take the wrong medication and become very sick ... but I am so surprised it taken them that long to help you in your situation what a shame .
Actually, they do NOT need verbal confirmation - only confirmation via any legal state- or federally-issued ID. This means that, after having been notified of your painful condition, the Walgreens Representative should have requested your Driver's License, State ID or another form of identification of this type. State or Federal ID is actually the preferred method of confirmation since it is easy to verbally lie, but not nearly as easy to fake such ID. As soon as you are able, you should make another trip to that Walgreens and demand to speak to the Store Manager and inform him/her of the employee's actions and insist on an apology (if you know who the employee was and if he/she is still working there). If they hesitate, make sure you let them know that you know the information now about necessary and proper ID...Don't allow yourself to be treated this way as it is highly unprofessional and inexcusable.
On a side note, I've been through painful oral dentistry and I hope you get to feeling better very soon!

Walgreen's on 801 s. E.17th, ocala, fl where I shop refused to accept my b1g1 manufacture coupon for the purex liquid detergent that walgreen's had on a b1g1 sale. I know others who have received their purex liquid free except for tax, but I ended up paying for the purex. They refused to take the coupon and it has now expired and I am very upset with the policies whereby some get service and others are refused. Could you please look into this and explain how some stores accept the b1g1 coupon and others refuse to honor these cpns? Thank you for your help in this matter. Mrs. Peggy russ [protected]

prescription pricing policy
Walgreens has a generic drug program that gives customers a discount on certain medications. However, if a customer has Medicare D they cannot participate in this program. This is because Walgreens has misinterpreted the laws regarding Medicare D. Because of this Walgreens is breaking the law. This is discrimination! Other drugstores with similar programs do not discriminate against Medicare D members. One such company is Walmart. A classaction lawsuit is called for to stop such policies by ignorant companies like Walgreens.
