Denied a employee position
I live in Bloomfield, NJ and are currently unemployed. I have worked in the past at various fast food establishments among other types of jobs, but when I started a family, I focused on raising my children and taking care of my family. Unfortunately during those years, I became ill and was unable to go back to work for some time, but my health got better, and I decided that I would try to get back in the work force. Getting back in was not as easy as I hoped it would be because most places wants a resume and because my work experience is limited, I decided to try and get a job back working in the fast food market. I applied for a job at Wendy's on Bloomfield Ave in Bloomfield NJ, and I was told that their were positions available.
I went into the establishment and the first thing I saw was a sign on the counter stating that they were hiring for ALL shifts, positions available immediately. But the minute the manager who was interviewing me saw me, he made up every excuse in the book not to hire me, including telling me that the shift that I wanted to work (the morning shift) really did not need anyone, that the shift that they really needed people was in the evening. He repeatedly told me that they needed FAST people to work, and that I would be on my feet for a number of hours with little to no breaks to sit down. I was 55 when I applied for the job, but I am used to being on my feet for long periods of time as I've taken care of animals for years, as well as taking care of my husband who is ill. I cook every single day and clean my home so I know darn well that I could work at any fast food place. But he tried to make me feel old, and in short, he ended up telling me that for the position that I wanted to work, they were not hiring after all. Age discrimination.
Desired outcome: I want an apology and I would like to see more older people that need jobs to be given a chance in places like Wendy's.
Enforce your sanitary rules!
I was at Wendy's this morning on Atlanta Hwy Montgomery , Al 36109. The staff there were friendly but I noticed no one had on hair nets or gloves. The Cashier was cooking food then back to the window handling dirty money. This person had no gloves on or hair net. My concern cross contaminations. The supervisor should be enforcing stanitary rules and regulations. Especially due to Covid. Thanks!

We order 2 Spicy Chickens and a Spicy Hot Honey Chicken with drinks and 1 order of fries. The Spicy Chickens were small and not very spicy. The chickens needed to be put on a mini bun. Very poor and bland tasting. These sandwiches that we ordered doesn't come close to what they look like on the internet or their billboard menu. It looked like the spicy was just black peper in the doe. We should of went to Waffle House.

Pull in 1:05pm. Order 10 minutes later. Girl takes my card and disappears. 10-15 Man returns and hands me $28 worth of food stuffed into a regular sized paper bag, gives me my card, says “have a nice day” and shuts the window. No receipt, no chance to speak. 1:30pm when I finally leave. Get back to work (late because I spent my lunch in a drive-thru) and when I lift the overstuffed bag it rips and spills everything on the ground. 30 year customer and I never been so angry with service. Last time the baked potatoes they served were at least 2-3 hours old and disgusting. This Wendy's terrible. When I tried to file a complaint on the corporate website I was given a 404 error. I'm about to stop patronizing Wendy's entirely.
Desired outcome: For corporate to address the issue of this Wendy's being consistently slow and serving poor quality food.

On 5/27/22 I did an online order for in store pickup at the Oak Park, IL location on Harlem Ave. I got there and the doors were locked. The drive through line was long, but we went to the drive through as I had already paid for the food.
We finally got to the order box, and was told there was no record of our order. We told her what the order was. I was told the salad I ordered they were out of. So I ordered another one, but without bacon. As I’m telling her this she’s interrupting me telling us to pull up to the next window. I try to say again without bacon and the interrupts me again.
We pull up to the pickup window, and another woman hands us the food. I all if there is bacon on the salad, and she tells me she Diane know. She yells back to ask if anyone knows, and then she told me to check. I looked and there was bacon on it. I let her know, and it was obvious she was not compelled to get a different one.
We left and we were both so disgusted that we didn’t even eat our food. I thought about trying to find someone to give the food to, but didn’t have the energy after that.
I get they are short staffed, over worked, and underpaid. I know it’s stressful working understaffed when it seems like you are just chasing your tail the whole shift. I am always polite and kind, and yet I wasn’t even able to get my order corrected.
I would forgive this if this was the only negative experience at this location, but pretty much every time I have used the drive through it has been a negative experience. This is why I always go in or order for inside pick up.
Desired outcome: At least the cost of my salad back because my order was incorrect, but ideally the whole order cost as neither of us ate any of it.

I went to Wendy's on Thursday 05/26/22. The staff member that was assisting me was very rude and had a terrible attitude. After ordering on the app, I went to the drive through. The line for the drive through is outrageous. I waited 45 minutes to reach the pick up window and when I finally reached the window the staff member handed me order and immediately turned her back to me. I looked through the order and noticed that I was missing the frosty that my daughter ordered. I thought maybe the staff member has her back towards me because she was preparing the Frosty so I waited. After 5 minutes of sitting there, no acknowledgement from the staff member her coworker signaled her so that she was aware that I was still there. She opened the window and just looked at me so I let her know that I was waiting for the frosty. She rudely said "we don't have none" and mumbles something else and simply walked away from the window. I sat there again and watched her return to the window but again she sat with her back facing me. Her coworker again signaled her that I was there. She opened the window and again said nothing just looked at me. So I let her know that I have no idea what she just said and that my meal came with a drink and how come she didn't offer me a drink and how come she didn't tell me that they didn't have frostya when she handed me my order. She did not answer but looked to the side and grabbed a drink that was sitting there and rudely shoved the drink in my hand. I was shocked and could not believe the service that she was giving me. I then asked her what is in the cup and she said with aggravation , strawberry lemonade. So I asked my daughter if she wants strawberry lemonade and she did not so I asked for the drink that she wanted which was the melon lemonade. The staff member took the drink back and simply walked away again. When she came back she blurted out small, medium, or large. I told her that the size doesn't matter to just give me whatever size comes with the meal. A few moments later someone else appeared who identified himself as the manager. He asked me what happened and I explained to him the service I got and that the employee had an attitude etc. She blurted into the conversation with shock that I would think she had an attitude... She said I have an attitude and rolled her eyes. I answered her back and told her yes, you do. I went through each interaction and she stood there staring at me and was making faces at me. I turned my head from her and continued to speak with the manager. While speaking with the manager I could still see her just standing there staring like she was in disbelief and she was making faces as I talked. At that time I said to the manager, you know she has an attitude I am complaining about her and she really shouldn't be standing here right now. The manager said "she can stand wherever she wants. You can't tell her where to stand. She's doing her job" I asked him what is her job. He said she's taking orders. I said right now she's not taking my order or anyone else's because she is standing there making faces at me while I am trying to speak to him. The manager became very angry and told me that I can't tell her where to stand and that I am disrespecting his workers. I told him I'm not disrespecting anyone that she has an attitude and that I was trying to tell him what happened . He continued on and was arguing with me. By that time the entire team of employees were standing around watching and all were laughing (except) one employee. By that time the manager shoved the drink in my hands just as she did and told me to get the [censored] out of there. I have never in my life experienced a situation where the manager or anyone thought that it was okay to swear at a customer. I had my children with me and didn't want to keep escalating the situation so I drove off. This location on American Legion Highway needs to shut down . The lines are always ridiculously long regardless if you are going inside or if you are in the drive through. The manager needs to be fired and the staff need training on customer service and what to do when a customer has a complaint. They absolutely should not stand there and heckle the customer and escalate the situation.

Sunday purchased a osiago chicken sandwich took 3 to 4 bites while I was talkin to wife got a little sick to my stomach then it started cramping but was able to throw up didn't no what was going on but happened to look down at my sandwich an saw the uncooked chicken but being a man trying to let it run its course without hospital don't no if it will work still slight pain on the bottom of stomach manager very rude no sorry or nothing she just said give him a refund for the sandwich not the meal turned around walked off as if nothing happened even the guy at the drive threw said you just came threw what's wrong even Jerry another customer noticed how rude she was so he didn't order but he came out after I left an said she went an got the sandwich out of the trash when I left but she should have looked at the sandwich when i brought it back in very unprofessional

Race & ada discrimination
On 5/4/2022 I went into the Wendys in Murray, Utah. Despite there being 7-8 employees, no one would take my order. I waited approx 10 min, during which time several employees looked at me, but no one would take my order. In fact, a few employees were laughing & joking at around while looking at me. After asking a few times for someone to take my order & being ignored, I stated that I wanted to see the mgr to file a complaint. Finally, an employee came forward to take my order, but ignored my request to see a mgr. After I returned home, I called cust service on 5/4 & was told to expect a return call within 48 hrs. I didn't get a call back. I called again on 5/9, & told my call would be escalated to a district mgr, & again told to wait 24-48 hrs. Once again, no return call, so I called again on 5/13, & again told the call would be escalated to both the district mgr & owner, & once again no return call.
I feel that I was discriminated against due to my race & being 100% disabled from serving during the Vietnam conflict.
I have now filed a discrimination complaint w/ the Utah Attorney General's Office.

She handed me my food in an open sack. It was disgusting.
Desired outcome: Make sure the employees handling food have clean clothes and that no hair is visible on their uniforms.

On Sunday 5/22 at 7:15pm I walked into your store at Chestnut Hill Plaza to place an order. There was only one other customer at the counter who was obviously not happy with the service he was receiving. He had already placed his order and was standing back from the counter when I walked up. I stood there for some time, made eye contact with several employees yet no one acknowledged my presence.
The reason I am writing this is because I eventually left, drove a few miles to the store at University Plaza. I walked in, placed my order and was back in my car with my food in less than 10 minutes. The employees at this store were courteous and prompt.

Poor customer service lazy rude workers
As an uber delivery person as a customer the Wendys has rude obnoxious non helpful lazy workers who told me ill wait till it's done after over 15 to 20 minutes.

Spicy chicken sandwich
Today about 3:30pm I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich took two-three bites and realized it was raw. I’ve contacted Wendy’s through email also called their home office and stayed on hold twice for about 35 min with no answer. Hopefully they will take care of this
Quality of breakfast roll and store management
This concerns the Oxford, PA store. Have been there several times last week and on 2 of those occasions the front door was locked and other customers like myself had looked puzzled when they walked away from the door. No signs or notes of explanation on the doors and the line to the drive thru was wrapped all the way back past the doors almost at the other end of the drive thru. What were they expecting one to do---get your order, sit in the parking lot to eat it and have no access to a restroom? It took me 25 minutes to get up to the ordering station and I order the #9 breakfast sandwich which is the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. When I got to the window, I asked why were the doors locked and was told "have no help right now". Got my sandwich, drove down the road and parked at the Landhope store (they have restrooms) and opened my sandwich and to my dismay, the roll was hard as a rock. Almost like it had been frozen and was given a quick thaw. I couldn't even finish it and if I had been at the store I would have taken it back, but under the above conditions I was not about to go back and I trashed the sandwich. Seems to me there is something wrong. There always seems to be issues at this store. I also go to the Kennett Square store and it is amazing, and I have decided I will be driving a little further to receive the excellent service and food that I have always gotten when I have stopped there. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. The hostile treatment at the hands of your manager and staff was compounded by their non-existence of customer service. Refusal to provide receipt when asked, cashier seemed inexperienced, and lack of menu items which led to complete frustration. Also numerous staff members were sitting outside the restaurant until the manager showed up. Then they went inside. Once I asked to speak to manager about situation, a confrontational attitude persisted. Especially, when I simply returned items and asked for a refund.

I’m a 21 year retired/disabled veteran who suffers from PTSD. Experiences such as these are a trigger for me which make me relive trauma. I need medication daily and have a psychiatrist and counselor. The main question that I am always asked is, have you had experiences that make you want to hurt others or yourself? This is one of those times; I would have to answer, YES!

The wendy on south side of bismarck employees can hardly speak or understand english. Got order wrong. Went to complain and get it fixed. They just speak in another language and argued. Out of 4 items, they got 1 right. After becoming upset they fixed 1 of the 3 mistakes.
Order spicy chicken sandwich and dave single combo and 2 hamburger patties for our dogs pain.
We got chicken sandwich and 2 burger with onions pickles ketsup mustard.
