A gas smell in my villa
On Tuesday the 27th at around 1.00 am. We smell gas in our unit and out side. And so did the people above use. We report it to the front Desk. They had someone come a half hour later. He told use it was probably a small leak not to worried. So we td them to call the gas company and they didn't they sent 2 more workers. And they said it was maybe the mulch that was put down or the dryer that was probably not used. Witch we have be using for 2 days. They I went to the front desk and talk to a manager and he told me the gas company would come. And now it Wednesday and still has not come. We are not smell it but my daughter and she family kept the window open. I am so mad that they don't care and the way we have be treated. I have be a member sent 1996. And when I was a child I was pull from a house for a gas leak. Scary thing. I hope someone see this as and understand that not something you just let go. Thanks Patty Siddons [protected]. Desired outcome: I want our money back and want out of this timeshare
Timeshare
Before I sign said for me to Friends and for me Westgate, I pay $150.00, to other resorts, not Westgate $399.00 plus $1,500.00 to use when I travel. To my surprise, when I tried booking the Westgate the price was completely different. I can't use $1.500.00 and discounts website have. I would like to cancel my contract and I want my money back. I tried to cancel my contract before 10 days the company didn't cancel, I tried a negotiation with the company many times and Westgate doesn't care, I lost my job and can't pay.
Desired outcome: Please refund me and cancel my contract
Vacation stays
I was told I had 10 days to cancel if I did not want to go through with this about two weeks ago I received my information with my account number and found out that I have 18 months to take four vacations. My husband and I were told we had three years to take five vacations one is through Westgate four of them are through leisure travel but this was not what was stated to us about the 18 months on those other four so therefore I did not find out until couple weeks ago that was the case and we went in April 2022 when we was offered this package of five vacations in three years $1295 and we paid 300 cash that day and we was getting ready to pay off the remaining when we found this out so therefore we are not paying the additional $995 and we want our money back but they say that can be done. Criminal crooks Thought we was getting a really good deal was told we had three years to take the five vacations we paid $300 down out of the 1295. Found out a couple weeks ago that four of them had to be taken in 18 months that's not what I was told when I got them you have 10 days to cancel this was done in April so therefore they say they can't cancel it I am not making my other payments and they will not refund my money so don't do it I told them they are gonna get nasty reviews because they're not willing to refund my money
Desired outcome: To be reimbursed for 300 cash that I’ve paid obviously they won’t send it back to me in cash but they at least need to send them back in a check form
Westgate Resorts timeshare
We purchased Westgate timeshare in 2005 and it’s completely paid off. The annual maintenance fees keeps going up every year. Each time we try to book a week we are told that it’s not available and/or we need to book almost a year out. We couldn’t use any of our week and if we want to bank it, we need to pay extra to bank for a week that we couldn’t use and already paid for. Because of the pandemic, we weren’t able to travel in 2020 and 2021 and when we called to ask for prorated fees they wouldn’t budge. Scam is an understatement with these people. The owner is robbing us blind while he’s building a ginormous house that cost a few hundred millions with our money. We need to get out of this timeshare as soon as possible! And how is it their business tactics legal?
Desired outcome: To get out it this big scam that called “dream vacation.”
Paying HOA
I been trying since 2021 to pay my HOA. Guess what I have not been able to pay and here it is the month of April, I always start making payment at least six months before they are due. When I call all get the office is closed call back between our regular business hours Monday thru Friday and then the phone hang up. There use to be a place located in member logon where I go to pay the HOA. Now they try to call me when I am at work and I can't talk to them when I am at work. I try to call back once I am off duty and back to the same recording as listed above. I want to be able to make HOA payment online as easy as I was able to before and remove the headache that I been get due to the
Desired outcome: I want to make weekly payments until my HOA is payed off and to not be charge late or interest fees as I have try many times to call and logon to my account so that I can pay.
Being lied to and mislead into purchasing time share.
I was told I could Airbnb at anytime which was lie. I came to Orlando you put me in a old outdated place to stay. I complained over and over. My daughter went to Vegas and tried to get a plce to stay and it was more expensive they went to a hotel.I want out of agreement and all monies paid back.
Desired outcome: I want out of agreement and all monies paid back.

Timeshare scam
Where do I begin about Westgate. The worst decision in my life started in 1998 when I was only 23 years old. My wife at the time and I went to Disney World with my toddler son and fell for a free ticket if you take a tour deal. Long story short being naive 23 year olds and falling for high pressure sales tactics and outright lies we bought a unit. We were told all the things that anyone who has listened to a timeshare sales pitch hears: exchange any time for no fees, exchange all around the world for small fees, they have a unit with an in demand week available at a discount, and the worst lie of all which is what convinced me to sign was that we were making a great decision by investing in real estate that would increase in value and if I didn't plan on staying in the unit one year I could rent it. The salesman had "testimonials" from satisfied buyers that were living the life of their dreams. I have since learned that making claims such as the future value of real estate is illegal and this should go double for the timeshare market. I found out later what I bought was not an investment, it was a life long commitment to pay Westgate annually and getting little to nothing in return. In the 23 years I have owned this unit I exchanged it a total of 4 times and never actually ever stayed in the unit I own. The only exchanges that actually worked were the ones through interval international for additional fees. The free exchanges through Westgate were never available, ever in 23 years. In 2003 after I paid off the unit and I realized I was not getting what I was promised I tried to sell. That's when I realized that my unit was worthless. Actually it was less than worthless it was going to cost me to get rid of it. You see Westgate was willing to let me pay them $2000 to give my unit back to them so I did not have to be beholden to the lifelong commitment I made of the annual fee of $750+ per year. Oh and the renting idea that was actually a different scam. My information was sold by Westgate to a company that would help me rent the unit for a fee. After I paid the fee I could not get in touch with them again that happened pretty much right after I bought it.
I would also like to state that the units that I was able to exchange my unit for were horrendous to say the least. All of the units I stayed in, 2 in Williamsburg, 1 in Massachusetts, and one in Pennsylvania were never updated since they were built it seemed. The one I used in 2016 in Pennsylvania still had rotary phones, a VCR and a TV with knobs. It was fun for my kids to see all the retro technology but it was underwhelming to say the least. I tried several times to get Westgate to take my unit back but it is always for a fee. There are compnaies that will get you out of your timeshare as well but their fees are even higher. They must split the fee with Westgate, its a joke. Last year Westgate had a credit card deal. If you got their credit card you would get resort credits that you could use towards everything including maintenance fees. I said finally a deal that makes sense. I should have known better. I took out the credit card and started using it. I gathered $100 in credits and just a few months before the maintenance fee bill come out they discontinued the card and all the points are gone. I have got to the point were I have a sickening feeling in my stomach every time I see the name Westgate. My life goal now is to warn as many people as possible to run away from this company and the entire timeshare industry. Everything and anything to do with this industry is a scam at the worst and low quality at the best.
If I could pick a resolution it would be if Westgate would take this unit back from me for free, tell me sorry for my poor experience and tell me thank you for being a loyal customer. I will eat the tens of thousands of dollars I "invested" in this scam and live the rest of my life with a weight lifted from my shoulders.
Desired outcome: I highly doubt my extremely reasonable request will be honored. You have been warned.
Timeshare fraud
The Westgate sales pitch can last all day. We thought we were getting important information to help make our decision. Unfortunately, we didn't know there was a non-reliance clause in the contract so this allows the Westgate sales agents to legally lie. This is a form of abuse, either get rid of the clause or get rid of the sales presentation. If Westgate can't get rid of either this means they are relying on the clause and deceit to make a profit. To make matter worse, once a consumer signs the contract and the recission period has passed, there is no way out. Most consumers would never sign had they known maintenance fees were forever. The amount of money Westgate got out of us they would not lose by letting us out of our contract. We were willing to pay an exit fee, yet we were denied and told they were not obligated to give a reason for denial.
After they get your signature and the recission period has passed is when owners slowly begin to realize that the sales pitch was full of untruths. It isn't easy to reserve your week, maintenance fees do rise, other fees occur that were not mentioned. Owners do not get the special treatment that puts them above non-owners, as a matter-of-fact ownership has the opposite effect. Non-owners are more important because they are potential profit. Owners are locked in. Which brings us to the "owners update" which is not an update at all but another sales push for upgrades. Our very first update, we were told that our purchase documents from the previous year were missing signatures, so we had to meet up, it was a lie of course, just to get us to show up. Until the governing agencies quit looking the other way this is going to continue.
Discrimination of my disability and credit card charges fraud
First and foremost:
1. From the moment we arrived on the property...
I had requested a handicap room during the sales call; I cannot WALK and I'm confined to a wheelchair PERIOD! When we arrived, I was in the waiting room over an hour and half because I was old there were no handicap rooms available after I specifically requested a handicap room. I cannot travel without one. To say the least, they found accommodations, however it was not handicap; I had to struggle to get in the bathroom to use the toilet and did not shower the entire time we were there! I tried to make the best of a bad situation for my family.
2. The day of our tour...
I arrived in the lobby an hour early to catch shuttle (for handicap)to location for tour; I requested a shuttle several times and it never came; Finally an hour and half later one showed up; Once we arrived for tour; I was told that they were over booked and running behind. I asked if we could go ahead and eat breakfast because I had small children and two people with diabetes (including myself); She said that she could not allow us to go back to the dinning room until our tour; After an hour had passed, I checked again to see how long it will take; again, same answer "over booked and running behind". We waited patiently again; Finally she came out again frustrated and somewhat irritated and said "Y'all can leave; She wasn't sure when someone would get to us." I asked are you sure? We really wanted to do the tour and was really interested in the property; She said that I could go online and find out about the property; I asked again can we at least eat... it was now after lunch; She said no and that it was only for people that do the tour... I told her we was HERE for the tour and that we should not be mistreated (again) because of their error. I asked her again to make sure their will be no discrepancies concerning our leaving and she assured me that "we were good". We showed up as planned for the tour! We were ready for the tour! Never got the tour because you all could not/would not accommodate us. The person I talked to was irritated and basically didn't want to be bothered. Two months later, I see a $300 charge on my credit card for NOT attending a tour!
I feel that there are reasonable cause to believe that conditions are "egregious or flagrant, " and that this is a part of a "pattern or practice" of resistance to my ' full enjoyment of constitutional or Federal rights, as a person with a disability. Trust and believe I will not let this slide under the rug. I am extremely disappointed.

misselling time share
I bought a timeshare in westgate palace resort last April 2012 even though me and my family live in U.K. I was made to believe that I can enjoy Westgate resort even outside U.S.A. thru Interval to swap my timeshare for other resorts outside America. What they did not told me is:
1. I have to pay Interval for annual member ship fee
2. I have to pay Interval for an exchange fee
3. That interval will give a one bedroom accommodation from a 3 star hotel in exchange for my 2 bedroom luxury villa.
4. That i have to pay westgate resort additonal fee whenever I failed to use my yearly time slot and carry it over to the next year.
I dont go to USA very often so I ended up always availing the services of Interval. Which gave me more costly crap hotel accomodation. Westgate people are really deceitful
Desired outcome: just give back the money I paid in cash approximately $14,000 12 yrs ago plus interest
Reservation cancelled
As a Westgate Owner since 2011 with Account Number [protected] I want to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment received by Westgate representatives. We checked into Westgate on 11/11 for Veterans day since my husband is retired. We went to the Italian restaurant onsite and was disappointed when we started to eat our food only to find out that it was undercooked.
The next day, 11/12/2021, we were awakened at 5 am by a fire alarm or smoke alarm inside our room and this also happened 11/13/2021
We complained the next day and did not receive a resolution as promised. On 11/14 upon checking out, when we went to complain, the agent was VERY unprofessional throwing up obscene hand gestures and being aggressive with me. I waited 45 mins only to be passed around and treated disrespectfully. I have multiple agents to report and the service was disastrously, The lobby was in chaos and it was a very long time to get assisted even though multiple agents were just hanging around not doing anything.
There was also a guest there harassing me, my service dog and my child while Westgate did nothing about it

Accommodations
I purchase a timeshare from Westgate in 2017 or 2018. Part of the sale's pitch and a major reason for our purchase was being assured that any accommodations we chose would be as good as or better than those we purchased. We are on 2 week trip. Our first week was at Colonial Williamsburg. The accommodations were excellent and we were extremely pleased. On Saturday we traveled to Shawnee River Village Two, expecting to find very similar conditions. We did NOT! Our accommodations are horrible. The condo is old, stinks, very sparsely furnished, the sink in master is in the bedroom is super slow to drain, the commode on another level has stopped up twice, there are no pot holders, no sample dishwasher tablets, the microwave is so small you need a magnifying glass to see it and the stove is very old, and repairs that have been made have been very poorly done. On top of those thing the ad for this place said ‘SOME' stairs. My wife and I are both seniors and steps are not our friend. In order to get to the condo we much climb 15 steps. Once in the condo there are 3 steps to get from the kitchen (main entry) to the living area. If I need a bathroom I have to go up 13 steps and to get to the master an additional 3. That to me is NOT some steps. We realize Westgate did not book us into this dump. However, the name of Westgate most assuredly will suffer by association. I wrote to Club Wyndham and Interval by email Saturday night. I asked that they reach out to me for some remedy to this horrible situation. To date I have heard nothing from either. I expected better service and it leaves me with Westgate for satisfaction. If I do not hear from you by Thursday 10/28/21 end of business I will feel backed into a corner as it were, and will begin reaching out to state and federal entities governing timeshares, to BBB, Facebook and any others available to me.
I do hope to hear from you with some remedy. I have many pictures to back up my statements above and will be happy to share them with you or attach them to any letters I send out to register my complaint.

Reservation
I booked and confirmed my reservation vacation package #5683250. I told your operator what I did for a living and they approved my reservation. I made the reservation 8/19/21 for 10/20/21. I just was told that you are not honoring my reservation The day before I leave for this vacation that I have booked other rooms around this trip, and now this close in the highest season getting rooms is tough. I contacted an attorney that advised me to contact you and keep records of all that is said and done. He suggested that instead of hiring an attorney that I take you to small claims court for the additional cost and aggregation you have created. The cost of small claims court is between $175 and $300 I believe the courts will rule in my favor since I have all my correspondents with your company. I would prefer to work this out and not go to court. I am sure you hear this a lot but I am familiar with small claims this is principal. Please reach out to me quickly

Housekeeping attempted to come into the room at a late hour
I recently stayed at the Westgate resort in Los Vegas to get married. At about 10:40pm as my new wife and I were enjoying our wedding night I heard a muffled knock at a door. Because it was so light I thought it was on a door across the hall. Next thing we know the door is opening and a housekeep is trying to come in. Luckily we had the door bar on and she couldn't enter. I told here to go away. I then contacted the front desk to try and find out why housekeeping was coming to my room. After some time of trying to deal with the front desk, I ended up having to go down and find a manager. Although they were very apologetic they couldn't explain why housekeeping was coming to the room much less at such a late hour. Even the next day no answer was given. The manager did take off the resort fees off the bill but that seems a little petty. It seems to me that our entire stay at the resort for our wedding was ruined. It was supposed to be a special stay but has been scared. I thing we should be refunded for the entire stay an the resort
Desired outcome: Refund of the entire stay at the resort
Agent
While staying at your resort I was unsatisfyI came to celebrate my daughter's 23rd birthday and I was totally dissatisfy with the location because I was told I was right across the street from Universal studio also even though I love the patio the stench coming from the water was awful location terrible overcharge to skip tour after paying more

Dear Sir or Madame, We recently spent our Anniversary at The Watergate Resort and Spa on Turkey Lake Road in Orlando from Sept 18 - 19. I have to say we were disappointed. When I booked the room the reservation clerk said we could get a later check out because we wanted to use the facilities on Sunday, she said a small fee may apply depending on check...
