To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is a notice of dispute for the reporting of the afore-mentioned account. I entered into a timeshare agreement back in February of 2019. The timeshare firm was completely unscrupulous and dishonest throughout the process. They used deceptive practices to get us to enter the timeshare and continued to just mislead us time and time again.
Issues:
1. They said they would buy back the timeshare at any point if we wanted to sell it. “Buy it back” was not one of the 4 options from which to choose.
2. We were members of their cruise travel program. We booked a cruise and was supposed to get special pricing since we were members. We ended up paying $5,000 which was the full price and AFTER THE FACT were told we had to john another type of membership to get the credit which was another statement that was simply not true and not disclosed to us.
3. We were told with the type of membership we were getting, there were no block out dates which was ANOTHER misrepresentation we had to deal with.
4. Our young (Over 21) were never able to take advantage of the membership without us being there and that is not what we were told in the meeting.
5. It was always one excuse or problem after another, and we were never actually able to use the membership at all. After luring us in, they kept stating we were in the “wrong” category and needed to “upgrade“ each membership we were in to gain full benefits. Always making a consistent effort to get more money!
The firm was completely dishonest and basically said whatever they needed to say to manipulate us into various package scenarios. I complained and they advised they said I was allowed to “voluntarily relinquish the property”. “With this, you will no longer be a Westgate owner, your account will be closed, and we will submit an update to the credit bureaus, so it shows as a closed account. This stops any further reporting. It can take 30-90 days for the credit bureaus to update your credit.” (Kamila Zupo) . They NEVER stated that the documentation was known as a “deed in lieu of foreclosure”! The pattern of lies is disturbing. Why would I, as a person that had a 751 score and now it is 681, want to intentionally destroy their credit? I am extremely liquid and would not have made the same choice if I were dealing with an honest firm. I need them to remove the entire account from my credit. I am also filing a complaint with the Florida Attorney General due to the deceptive sales practices of Westgate Resorts.
Sincerely,
Leon Watson
Complainant
Desired outcome: I want the negative credit rating and the account removed from my account expeditouusly.
