WinCo Foods cashiers letting a very drunk man continue to insult an elderly women and I front of my 3 yr old!!

My daughter and I where in the check out line, an elderly women was in front of us, she said she had forgotten a package of batteries, so she goes to get her batteries and I'm putting my things on the belt, about 15 seconds after she left a man and a woman came up and put their things on the belt also, not even 5 seconds after that while I was telling my daughter she couldn't have 2 candies, then all of the sudden I hear the man say to the women who he was with that he had just found a tablet in this shopping cart, I quickly turned around and sure enough he had my 3 yr old daughter's tablet that has a PINK COVER on it, I told him that was my daughter's and to give it back.. he seriously stared at me for about 30 seconds while I have my hand out, he said it was like a lost and found, I repeated to him.. give me my daughter's tablet back. He tried to tell me that it was not mine.. so I told him to look at the pic of my daughter on the background. He finally gave it back after I told him that he was trying to steal from a little kid. Meanwhile the elderly lady is coming back and he was taking up all of the isle so she said to him VERY polite "excuse me" it really seemed like he was trying to ignore her, I heard he say it clear as day while my daughter was whinging about a candy. She said excuse me one more time still ever so polite, he turned around and stepped in the middle of the isle so she could DEFINITELY NOT get by him, he said to her "What do you think you are special because she is old and that she needed to get her stuff and go to the back of the line.. She obviously didn't listen to him she just kept asking him to please stop.. that's when I started to smell the insane amount of alcohol on his breath.. What do you know he was buying more beer, he still wouldn't stop insulting the elderly women so I told him to stop! That's when I started on me.. so I said to the cashier, are you really going to let him buy all this alcohol as you can tell he doesn't need it.. She calls for a manager to come over, he didn't like that at all and told me that my hard earned paycheck was "meth money.. wth like really winco employees.. you know who you are and should be ashamed of yourselves for even letting him treat that poor women that way! And to top it off you sold him more alcohol that you knew he did not need! I'm super unsatisfied with that customer service 100%! What if that was your elderly mother or grandmother getting treated like that! What is wrong with people!? I will post this post onto my Facebook and definetly recommend a different grocery store to everyone.. It will definitely take a lot to get my business and my respect back for this store.

WinCo Foods produce

Hi. I purchased produce from the Kennewick, Wa WinCo. Paid for everything, took them home. Opened up a Banana cause my girlfriend was going to make chocolate covered bananas for everyone. It had a needle mark and red, blood like stuff in it. We called up WinCo, asked for a manager, got More I believe his name was, he didn't seem concerned about it at all. "Oh I'll have my produce people look at our Bananas". Excuse me! Uh, no, you supposed to close down produce completely until everything is cleared by the health department. You can't continue to sell CONTAMINATED PRODUCE. I will not be shopping the Kennewick WinCo again. I will make sure word gets around about the piss poor response I got from management, and I will be going to the health department, with the picture of the tainted produce, and let them know how "Well" it was "Handled" by Management. Very disappointing.

WinCo Foods belittling

I have worked at WinCo in Moses Lake for a year and a half now. We are under new management and he and my dept manager are constantly asking what I've been doing from the time I clock on and making it out that I just stand around not doing anything. My dept manager embarrasses me, putting me down in front of other employees even customers. Store manager does absolutely nothing about. Everyone around immediately notices a change in my attitude when they are around. Every day I go home bawling my eyes out feeling worthless

[censored]! Welcome to being an adult! Are you serious! I thought being an adult was above childish Belittling. Belittling is no different than bullying! The store manager should nip this in the bud immediately not join!
I too work in this store. I'm sorry your having to deal with this! It is unacceptable! There are many, many problems going on right now. You can't go to your SPC, she hires her husband and son! I'd say go to the the assistant manager. Or go to corporate.

I find myself in need of an electric cart to shop [difficulty walking]. I made my way [a very long way], to "Customer Service". I was told I had to have identification to obtain a cart - o.k. - I guess this probably not too odd. I don't have to have identification for a push cart, but if you are old or disabled you need a CREDIT CARD to be left as a SECURITY DEPOSIT to use the electric cart. I complied, but was so annoyed at being treated like a THIEF - I could not shop. I have shopped in this store many times, but no more. I am nearly 86 years old - so you won't miss a LOT of business, but I will tell as many people as I can about this practice.

WinCo Foods customer service

My name is Tim Ripley and I am homeless but I camp with about three other people. Early last week we all pooled our money together and sent my friend to the WinCo on 82nd and Powell in Portland Oregon area code 97206. He was the only one of us who went but we spent over one hundred dollars. We recently got posted and told we had to be out of our spot by today. We still had about 50 dollars worth of food left that we weren't prepared to cart around with us so I went to return it this morning with the receipt. I walked into the store and went directly to the customer service counter with the bag of groceries and asked to return these items. The girl at the customer service counter said she had to call her manager Dawn I believe was her name. When she arrived she said they had to check the cameras to make sure I didn't just steal the products. They made me wait about 15 min and then came out and said they rewound the video to the time stamp of the purchase and said that since I wasn't the one who bought the groceries they would not accept them because I probably just found the receipt and got the product to scam the store. I explained my friends and I situation and they still refused to believe me they then refused to give back the receipt and asked me to leave the store they said they couldn't prove the groceries were stolen but they didn't have to give the receipt back so I don't even have a chance to send my friend in who did the actual purchasing because now I have no receipt. So they basically screwed my friends and I out of $50 we desperately need right now

WinCo Foods most unfriendly store and employees

I am regular at this store now that I have moved to the area, I used to be live in Apple Valley and I loved WinCo! The Fontana store customer service in horrible all the way up to management. Today I checked out with cashier Brian F After standing in line behind three people, he didn't greet us, make eye contact except to ask of if we wanted bags. No did you find everything, and no thank you. Walked past management same !
This store is very disappointing.

WinCo Foods big troubles for winco foods

I have just now read dozens of complaints against Wincofoods on this site.
What if I stated that I've seen nearly every problem and complaint listed here in one single winco location over a 5 year period?
I've been so astounded at what i've seen there that I had to develop a way to compensate for my own perception and confirmation bias to be sure i've been correct before making a review to Yelp and complaining to corporate. I described what i've seen as well as the scientific method i used to check myself. Basically two rules:
Rule 1. "1 or O"
I have a sequestered (unspoken)set of information regarding abusive behavior. If no observation of any behavior highly similar to or matching my set of information, then 0. No occurrence... Wonderful!
If observations of behavior are similar or matching, then 1.
If 1, then check for other 'symmetries' in my set. There is always more than 1 symmetry when the observation is a 1.
Rule 2. Never go to this store for the sole or even the primary purpose of making an observation. Store and employees may only be observed during legitimate shopping visits, timing is always random.
I must have frightened someone pretty badly because i'm now banned from all winco stores and properties... Yep, ALL of them.
This the most cowardly response I've ever seen from another human being, let alone a company that serves the public like a grocery store chain. Perhaps the court of public opinion needs to drive this company back to IDaHo from whence it came.

Ok, the problem that a lot of people are know complaining about your sub sandwich. There used to be good portions on these subway sandwich and I'm starting to think that if you can't make customers happy then shut it down. These subway sandwich where the best but when you become skimpy with one or two pieces of meat then it's my obligations to warn 1000 customers that this is insane to treat the people that want a good sandwich but the bread used to be bigger and more meat on these subs. How to treat customers.

WinCo Foods Produce police

My bf was being detained at winco by two fat [censored]es with boners for each other. I was trying to get them to let him go and walk on his own but these two perverts couldn't keep their hands off of him. A third [censored]tard must have been jealous that his butt buddies were touching someone else because he then grabbed me and tried to squeeze the life out of me nearly and then literally threw me to the ground like a worthless coward. I weigh all but 100 lbs and this weirdo manhandled me like I was a man. Dirt bag is clearly in the wrong field if he cannot be a grown up man and realize emotions get high in that situation but he doesn't need to try and compensate for his tiny baby [censored] by tossing some little girl around like a doll. The tiny [censored] comment is fair game because the molester had a baby hard on poking me in the back the whole time he was grabbing me because apparently this stuff is exciting for him. When I fell I dropped my purse and some fat chick with 4 teeth picked it up and took it inside even though I was not being detained so my [censored] was off limits. Regardless they want to show us stealing is wrong by stealing my stuff. I called to get it back from the circus leader and he lied and said it was given to my bf and the police. Yes they had him arrested for 12 whole dollars then are total hippocrates because I was outside when they brought him out in cuffs and guess what? No purse! So these skeezers wait for someone to make a bad decision so they can all go play "cops and robbers" since they never amounted to be a real police officer they have to protect the produce! And they wrestle little girls and manhandle men to get their baby [censored]s pumping enough to steal from the victom of their foreplay. Nice going winco and freaks. Setting examples left and right on how to be a decent piece of [censored]. Theft is ok as long as you have at least 3 losers willing to overpower anyone in their way while screaming that they will call the real police for assault if you touch their "fragile fat [censored] again."
Keep the purse scumbags maybe you can find your pride in it.. Or at least a penis pump if you insist on popping baby wood on your victims some more.

WinCo Foods lack of service help

We try not to shop at WinCo except for home cleaning supplies because the lack of produce selection and the meat quality it typically poor.
This most recent shopping experience was TERRIBLE! While walking through a section I waited for an employee who was adjusting items to set a side. When he did, I joked that I was messing up his display. He said "Well, they want it to look nice but it's the weekend so it's going to keep getting messed up."
Later, I went to get some shrimp and there was no one at the seafood counter to help me. I ask the deli counter for help at the fish counter and they called over the intercom for someone to help, 5 minutes lated no one was there. Another guy asked if I needed help, I said "yes, please, they called but no one has come over." He left and returned a minute later saying someone should come soon. Some employees passed me and went into the back, the guy same left and came back again, assuring me again someone was on their way. 15 minutes and STILL no one had helped me despite being called over the intercom multiple times AND multiple employees passing by. Finally I gave up, I had frozen food in my cart and needed to get it back in the freezer so I headed to self check out. EVERY item I scanned and placed into the bagging area said either "checking weight, please wait for assistance" or "Unrecognized item in bagging area, please wait for assistance". EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. The worst part was there was no on in the self check out area to help. Someone would come by, say NOTHING to me and just scan their card for the system to move on and walk off. This happened 6 times until finally I just kept clicking the "Not bagging the item" button.
Now, let me remind you of the employee who was moving things around to make them "look nice". He could have being doing something MUCH more useful. I left WinCo immensely frustrated by the lack of useful help. I will not buy groceries from WinCo again, I've never had such a bad experience at the grocery store!

WinCo Foods cashier behavior

What started as a great morning of walking my dog and then going to Winco for grocery shopping quickly turned sour. I always have a treat ready for my dog and opted for some dog treat jerky which was expired. I inquired with the self service lady who I should ask if there was was any more in the back and she directed me to the assistant manager who was within eye shot of her as she could not leave her post. As I approached the assistant manager who stopped his speaking with another employee, I asked about anymore inventory, He did not have any but seeing as how the product should still be good, I was offered a 50% discount, and told by him to just tell the cashier Herman says it's okay. I wait in line eventually to be serviced by Michelle, I advised her 50% off per Hermann. She did not believe me and said she had to verify, I explained how the product was expired and proceeded to show her the expired date, so that she could understand why the 50% off. She stated she still had to verify and proceeded to pick up the phone; I told Michelle, why would I lie about a $3 off when I am spending $100 in groceries. As she held the phone in firmness to call, I told her I will just walk away from these groceries and you deal with placing them all back. She then opted not to call however she had her lead override the transaction which had to happen anyway.

I have shopped for many years, there is a since of trust amongst shoppers and cashiers and people in general. While not often I have had expired items before and they either give them away as they cannot sell due to being expired or they just opt not to hand them to me at all as again they are expired. While Herman was nice, the item was expired so paying 50% was generous on my end and then to have this Michelle not believe me as though I was lying...again over a $3 dollar decrease on a $100 bill on a product that my dog ended up not liking is unacceptable. I do not believe the norm is to call and verify such a thing, as I stated to Michelle why would I make this up. That coupled with her lead having to override anyway is ridiculous to think I am lying. I am a person of color which I do not use lightly, however it does heighten the concern of Michelle choosing to not believe me and doing this; this turned what was a fairly blissful day into irritation. Even upon putting my groceries away feeling why should I add value to the Orangevale Winco's bottom line.

I should add that as I walked away to exit the store the employee that was standing with Herman, the assistant manager asked "did they take care of you" leading me to believe with further expectation, for this generic discount a phone call to verify the discount was not warranted.

WinCo Foods your winco brand nacho cheese tortilla chips

I purchased supplies for my sons 6th birthday party on may 30th at your location; including a bag of nacho cheese flavoured tortilla chips.

There were over 25 people in attendance, I brought all the nibbles out and placed them on the picnic table, the kids all gathered. Before I could open the tortilla chips i just happebed to look at the table and seen the bag smoking, i walked up and the bag caught fire from the inside out!

It was a nice day but by no means incredibly hot, there where many young children in attendance, in fact there where several in close vicinity of the bag as it lit on fire so we are grateful no one was hurt by your products packaging as I was close by and able to react quickly.

I'm not sure how many other complaints you have Had about this but believe you need to find alternate packaging for your products as they pose significant risk to your consumers.

I am enclosing images of the packaging and burnt product that we did not get to enjoy! I have kept the evidence of the event, wrapped in plastic for your review should you choose.

At this time I request an acknowledge and response to my complaint with instructions about what you would like us to do with the unusable product we have kept and what you intend to do to replace it.

Thank you in advance

WinCo Foods rude employee in the bakery

May 17 2018 approximately 10:30am
This actually started about a week ago, I needed a round of sliced sour dough bread . I could only find non sliced bread so I asked if they could slice it, when the women told me quite nastily that they had some already sliced on the shelf behind the displayed ones, where I could neither see or reach . That day there was another lady there who was very nice and smoothed things over . I didnt say anything then because I justfigured maybe she was having a tough day.Today the same thing no bread where it could be reached, but the grouchy women was the only one there, so I went in about three steps and grabbed one my self, this time she yells from all the way in the back " next time ask " so I told her maybe they should put some out, and got a dirty look for my trouble

WinCo Foods children's coin machines & adult magazines

My family are consistent WinCo shoppers & supporters!

I have noticed that the display on the children's coin sticker machine (in Clinton, Utah) contains a picture of Wonder Woman that is more sexualized and seductive looking than any other picture of Wonder Woman I've seen out there. A good portion of her breasts are exposed from the top and side, and her leotard is more high cut than the love action film portrays.

I am also disturbed to see magazines at WinCo with sexualized pictures & images, at children's eye level and without appropriate "protector flaps" placed in front of these magazines to hide the images from those of us who don't wish to see them, and certainly don't want our children being exposed to them.

If you're familiar with the new findings about the effects of pictures & images on children's brains, then you'll remember that very young children are affected by these images, even though they can't quite understand them.

Please protect your customers and our children by removing these images from the store, or at least placing protectors over the images, so that only those who are seeking them out are exposed to them.

Again, we love your store & what you provide for our community!

Thank you!

Concerned customer & parent,
Chelsea Anne Olson

Hi Ms. Olsen.

I appreciate hearing your concerns. There's no question that sexual exploitation of women is more prevalent now than it was even 30 or 40 years ago. I don't believe your likely to find it in more of one public store than another. It's become something that is more acceptable within our society these days.

It's interesting that Wonder Woman becomes your choice of concern as you're right, the latest movies to depict Wonder Woman do not over expose the character, however the 70's television show, staring Lynda Carter, very much took advantage of Ms. Carter's large bust size. In fact, CBS picked up the series after ABC declined to renew the title. However CBS actually requested that Ms. Carter's costume be redesigned slightly, cutting the top lower, exposing even more cleavage, and the bottoms were cut higher to expose more thigh. I guess this is one area where the older form of art was more sexual than the newer.

WinCo Foods assault by loss prevention, modesto ca

3/15/18: Saw loss prevention tackle a man and beat him up today. They were out of line and freaked out my boys. Slammed the mans head to the ground and he was bleeding. They choked him and hit him in the face and head. They are loss prevention not Danny Reagan! When they were finished with him they laughed and made jokes about it. Isn't loss prevention supposed to Prevent Loss not assault people? What happens if I forget to pay for an item, will they tackle me and slam my head to the ground? Once I used the self check in Walmart and you can't pay for wine there so I put it back in the basket and was going to pay for it but forgot. Loss prevention simply asked me if I wanted it at the door and I said yes and paid. They didn't choke me or punch me either. Winco has a reputation for promoting violence. I'm done with them. I won't be setting foot in the place. Mostly because my boys are terrified they'll get tackled.

WinCo Foods customer service was rude!!

I was shopping at the local winco store in Idaho Falls, I was confused about where I might find a product, there was an employee nearby, so I kindly asked her where I might find sesame oil. She looked at me like I was retarded, told me she was in the middle of something and that I should find someone else to ask, and then laughed at me and said, "like I know where everything is"! I was so embarrassed and unimpressed. The name on her name tag said Danielle. I did ask another employee, who was kind enough to guide to to what I needed and he informed me that her last name was pendelton, and that she had only been there a short time. Hopefully her customer service improves, or she remains there for a short while! I will not be going back.

WinCo Foods deli hot food

After work at 6:30 I went and purchased 2 pounds of chicken strips and 2 pounds of potato wedges. Which cost more than if I went for pizza. The chicken strips were so dry and hard it was inedible, so it went into the Garbage. Potato wedges were so stale and dry it was like eating old bake potatoe. It was so disgusting it had to be thrown away. I want to know why this crap is not thrown out when it clearly was no longer edible. Instead poor saps fit the bill for crap!

SALEM, US
Dec 01, 2021 12:44 am EST

I used to love the chicken strips from the deli. Occasionally, I got the dry, hard ones that should have been tossed hours before, but that happens sometimes. Now, in the last 3 weeks, I noticed the formulation for the breading has changed. The strips are no longer toasty brown, but whitish and sickly. The flavor is the same. It is practically non existent. Also, the breading does not adhere to the meat. It slips right off like a sweater. That was the only saving grace of the whole thing. I slip off the breading and just eat the skinless meat. Better for me, but come on. What the hell were you thinking? I've purchased the last chicken strip from your company. I'll go to Walmart from now on.
