Wyndham owners, do you get calls every day from wyndham. Did you answer and they were offering you a discounted getaway to learn about how to manage your pts, better utilize your timeshare? Thats me...
I have a confession:
I currently work for wyndham vacation resorts in their bring a friend dept. The sales reps who call the owners and sell discounted packages to owners to bring a friend along are liars. We use creative ways of telling the owner that they are not going to a sales presentation, rather it is education on how to use their timeshare.
We knowingly mislead owners daily in order to sucker them into buying the package and bringing along qualifing guests (who we have no interest in selling... Yeah right) on the false promise of helping them better manage their points, get into the resorts they want to visit... Put them in a position of strength as manager maurice brooks says. But, it is lies. We all know they will get nothing more than a 2hr beat down to purchase more pts. But there is no other way to sell the packages.
I feel bad for all the owners travel plans ruined by our false pretenses.
If you have bought a timeshare with this company the contract can be cancelled. I have a friend who's a librarian in Arkansas. She bought her timeshare under pressure and when she found they'd lied to her--she tried to cancel. Of course they said no she had to pay. She later got in touch with these guys-- advocates against timeshare fraud: advocatesatf@gmail.com They went to bat for her against Wyndham beginning on Apr. 8 '09 and her contract was cancelled by the 23d. Another owner facing foreclosure with Wyndham and had been diagnosed with lung cancer was able to get two contracts cancelled with the help of these people. I highly recommend them!
I would like to post a complaint. I apparently am not alone in discovering the unethical practices of Wyndham Vacation Resorts. Recently, I also had a bad experience with a travel package offered through my Wyndham Rewards/Bank of America membership. I purchased the Wyndham Vacation Resorts travel package for 149.00 on 1/9/2009 with an expiration date of 12/31/.2009. I suspected it too good to be true however purchased it anyway with the hope of it really being a “good deal.” Additionally, I felt assured this company was a trustworthy company due to it's affiliation with the Bank of America/Wyndham Rewards program. I am a member of this rewards program. Anyway, one location offered of the 18 different locations, was the Days Inn in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I held onto my vacation offer contract obviously waiting for the right time to make my reservation. Today, I called to book my reservation with WVResorts. I was told the company no longer offered the Fort Lauderdale FL package. I expressed my disappointment and asked for a refund of my 149.00, since unbeknownst to me they changed the conditions of the contract ie; locations apparently in January of this year, not me. If this is an ethical company I believe they should be agreeable to my request especially, since I did not receive any post contractural documentation notifying me of their changes of locations available. One reason I initially purchased the vacation package is because I wanted to go to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During the initial sales call I had selected my first vacation to be in Atlantic City, NJ and my next vacation choice for me at a charge of 25.00 would be Lauderdale. Subsequently, when I called WVResorts upon receiving my paperwork in January, confirming my reservation made for AC, I told them I had changed my mind on this particular location. I no longer had an interest in AC. At that time, I was assured I could change my location package since any vacation choice was transferable without penalty. (As a side note, I was also told this today, when I called back to try again with another service rep to request my refund at the recommendation of Wyndham Rewards). So today, when I told the company rep I could not go anywhere except to the Fort Lauderdale Days Inn, the initial customer service rep and her subsequent manager basically laughed at me over the phone, told me sorry no refund, and when I got upset, the supervisor put me on hold indefinitely. I hung up and immediately contacted Bank of America/Wyndham Rewards customer service to lodge a complaint. Now I am told that Wyndham Rewards did not have any connection to WVResorts! This statement is wrong, since the WVResort contract offer states that should I attend the WVR 2- hour time share presentation at one of their locations, I will supposedly earn an additional 9000 points, added to the 1000 points I already received when I signed up for this offer! I will continue to ask how a company who changes the terms of it's contract can expect the other party to continue to be held hostage? I want my 149.oo refunded or the points that equate to this amount given to me on my Rewards Membership card! I am seeking resolution on this matter. Please contact me at zimmermanracing@comcast.net
Went to Wyndham Shawnee in the Pocono's for a time share sale. Went through the entire sale and said no, then the end sale came and a closer, Nicole Dangelo, to make us the last offer.
"Today only", she said, "You can buy our Leisureplan membership."
This membership, she explained, is only $2, 400 and gives you the opportunity to try out Wyndahm resorts, but, she added, there is a cancelation clause that says you can cancle at any time by simply calling an 800 number. She showed us the clause and there it was in black and white
Right to cancel membership. Member has the right to terminate this agreement at any time by calling [protected].
She then went on to say how we could book a vacation, then cancel the membership and that many people are doing it. She said the company just wants us to try it out. We only needed to give them $200 deposit, then make six payments for a total of $800 and then we could cancel at any time and have a wonderful vacation also! We could not believe this was possible so asked her to repeat the offer. She told us the same thing again...cancel after 6 months...still get vacation...we just want you to try it.
Sounded great so my wife and I signed on on 12/27/08
Six months went by and I asked to cancel the membership. Well, Mr. Beech they tell me you may cancel the Leisureplan agreement, but you are not allowed to cancle the VIP membership which requires you to pay 100 every month for 2 years. The VIP agreement has a 7 day cancelation policy. I dig through paper word and there it is another contract.
Seems as though there are two(2) contracts we signed that day. One, the Leisure Plan, was a $49 a year membership to a vacation club which I could cancel at any time. The other was a VIP menbership that cost $2, 400 and had only a 7 day window for cancelation.
I''m wondering if this happened to any other people, especially the visitors to the Shawnee resort.
Needless to say, we are extremely upset about this immoral selling practice. We will report you to the Better Business Bureau and find a place to post our experience on-line so others are not cheated as we were.

RE: Wyndham Vacation Resorts and the BBB
Here's how that works. You report the Poconos Resort to the local BBB. They may have a really good rating there. Local BBB refers the complaint to the Central Florida BBB. They have a full time person, Nicole Downing, who does nothing but deal with Wyndham complaints...and guess what...Wyndham has an F rating in central Florida and isn't even a member of the BBB! But this does usuall generate a response from an underling who says, "You had a chance to read the contract, didn't you? And what have you been doing since last December, anyway? We're going to hold you to this contract Mr. Beech." There are other things that can be done, and you may even end up with a refund.

I am a Wyndham Employee. I work in the reservations department that books promotional packages. Yes- some of our locations are now closed because of the economy. We are suffering, but we a a great company! We're the biggest, and you should read carefully before signing anything. I only book vacations- not with owners- but with clients who purchase promotional packages- like the fort lauderdale comment earlier.
I HATE Wedham. I have not been exposed to not one but to two contracts, (Panama city and Destin, FL). I can't go on vacation this year or next year (due to starting a new job, and don't have the vacation time) so I wanted to pool my points for the remainer of thisyear and next. I can't according to Wydham. So I guess I will just lose them. I would like to get rid of this. Any suggesstions? I am not going to pay another company to take my time share. I just want to get rid of it for the amount owed.
I am an employee as well. I work in a different department but I do sell discounted vacation packages to existing Wyndham Owners. To the Sales Rep that posted this complaint, shame on you! You have a choice whether you lie to the owners or not! I am 100% honest with my owners that there will be a 120 minute presentation that they will be required to attend. The owners that have attended my events have had so much fun they are excited to bring a new set of friends to the next event I book them on. They love Party Weekends.
Wyndham does not instruct its employees to lie to the owners. We are told to be completely honest, each and every call is recorded for quality assurance to keep us from misleading the owners. If you lie to the owners that's all on you! Just because YOU decided to lie doesn't mean we ALL do.
My wife and I had a horible experience as well...They won't take NO for an answer and the saleperson told my wife that probably we only came for the free show tickets...We told him if they won't give it to us, then fine, that is better than being "forced", pressured, coerced into buying it. I am in sales for more than 20 years and I do my job well including knowing when it's time to stop pursuing the sales... But these guys a a bunch of wolves and seemingly putting to shame all the sales seminars I had attended... They suck ... There were about 8 people ahead of us and were gone before us...We saw at least 4 of them sign but these were old people who were scammed to belive they were there to save...only perhaps belatedly realizing these [censor] will take no pity nor has the heart... I wish the US government will protect the interst of its people and bring an investigation into this practice...
We just took a tour with Bluegreen and we were thinking of buying, but we were told that if we got into hard times then for $39 they would put it back on the market is this not true?
As far as I am concerned anytime you meet with anyone from Wyndham Vacation Resorts staff they are lying! We have enjoyed our Wyndham resort points for 10 years now. But will not ever again meet with anyone from their staff. We have been lied to so many times that I and my husband don't have enough fingers and toes to count them.
Go to update and learn about new stuff about Wyndham Vacation and will give up $100. It would only be 30 minutes. . BS I was there for 3 hours, trying to escape. If I ever made a mistake in my life it would be buying the stupid timeshare. I go $100 for going to their stupid update but I had to act like a ### before they let me go. The whole time the sale person was trying to sale me more timeshare for another $15, 000. They ripped me off $23, 000 and still want to ripped me off again. ###! ### LOW LIFE IS WHAT THEY ARE.
Advice: Be sure to ask about room taxes on the bring-a-friend packages.
