your customer service
Hello. A few months ago, we found out that theaters were offering classic anniversary showings of old movies when we saw an ad for STAR TREK. We were able to see the movie in September, and Ghostbusters this past weekend. On September 18, we also made reservations to see 'Alien' at the Danbury AMC for October 13 at 4pm.
We were linked to 'Atom' (via the sponsor of the showings?) and purchased our tickets for Ghostbusters and Alien. We saw Ghostbusters without a hitch and were waiting to celebrate our wedding anniversary by seeing Alien -- we have our ticket confirmation and everything was fine. Then, this afternoon, we received an email from Atom stating that Danbury AMC changed the auditorium (I was schooled by your customer service when I said the 'theater' was moved) from 5 to 15. We tried to reprint our ticket with the new AUDITORIUM location, but could not. We called Atom customer service, who cancelled our tickets (FOR A FEE) and told us to rebook the seats. When we tried, we were informed that the show was sold out for 10/13 and the only day available was this Thursday; we can only go on 10/13. We tried several ways to get our 'new' tickets, no luck. The movie was not even listed on the Danbury AMC site. I tried to file a ticket for help on the AMC site, but it would not submit it as I didn't have the correct theater ID. ? I than saw the 'chat' function, and logged in to see if I could get some help. I didn't have to wait long, maybe 5 minutes, so kudos for that. Then for the next hour, I talked, then waited, then talked and waited, with your agent, Dionte. I've attached our conversation for your reference. Not only did Dionte not READ my input, he became rude and ruder. All I wanted was to find out how one minute we had two seats, booked three weeks ago, to having NO seats. I wasn't concerned about the refund/fee; we just wanted to see the movie. Isn't that was AMC does? Make people happy showing movies? We just wanted to see the silly movie on the only day we could go together, and have a silly date for our anniversary. We are huge movie fans, and due to medical bills and dual unemployment, don't get to the theater very often these days. It's silly, but seeing Star Trek, Ghostbusters and Alien, was supposed to be a silly treat for us and a silly splurge to see some movies we love. Alien just happened to be on the day before our anniversary, an extra silly treat. Then all this garbage happened. I don't care that Atom said our show was now sold out in AUDITORIUM 15; I don't care about the fee. I don't care who was responsible for WHAT. I just wanted to take my husband to one of his favorite movies; when it fell apart, I just wanted help to make it right. The rudeness was inexcusable. Then after a few hours of looking, Alien showed up on Danbury AMC's site again. It was not there when all this garbage started. We ended up fixing it ourselves. No help from AMC. It may seem silly to your 'customer service' but it was important to me. I hope your agents get a review on how to help people. Just found out that your system does not accept .doc or .pdf. I can't save it in the formats you do accept. If you want it, let me know. [protected]@yahoo.com. What a nightmare over a silly movie night.

we have to stand in line for 30 minutes with 1 or 2 registers open. then they let the stubbs card people in front of us-like we are second class citizens. it tkes everyone three times as long at the ticket window-as you now have to choose seats. we tried to go inside to purchse our ticketd-and were told we don't sell tickets in here any longer. we will...

I was at AMC Gulfpoint 30 This morning 9/21/2019 to see Hustlers. I get to the theater and the line was horrendous! The worst I've ever seen, and this is at 10:30 in the morning. The reason the line was so slow is because for one they had only 1 person doing ticket sales and then they had to pick their seats. It was like that for over an hour! By the time I...

My husband and I went on Sunday 9/15/19 to see the 7pm showing of the new IT movie. -The concession area where you get our drinks was very dirty on the counter and floor. Most of the machines did not have any ice. -The women's restroom was completely out of soap to wash your hands and the restroom was very dirty. I went to try to let someone know at will...

Dear AMC Movie Theaters, I typically go to this theater regularly because it's approximately about ten minutes away from my home and I love the service that I've gotten so far here. On Friday September 6, 2019 I had decided that I was going to go to the premiere of IT Chapter 2 and while being there, I had a terrible experience. I first decided to buy a...

For the price we pay for popcorn it's an absolute disgrace that we have to eat cold popcorn for starters. Secondly I asked to wait for the hot popcorn which was about to start popping, to which the gentleman agreed, then another gentleman came and took the popcorn from the bottom which is old and cold and scooped it up and gave it to me.
So please answer me WHY ARE WE PAYING MORE FOR POPCORN THAN THE ACTUAL TICKETS. From now on I'll bring my own everything I am sick of being ripped off.
Thank you and would like a reply
theater itself
The cleanliness of the theater was nonexistent. the bathroom was horrible, the drink station was sticky and smelly, and the theater itself was disgusting with trash everywhere. When patrons complained they were told it was already cleaned when it in fact was not. the bathroom floor looked as if it hasn't been cleaned in weeks, there was used toilet paper on...

I went to the movies with my daughter yesterday. 11:10am showtime of The Farewell. Excellent movie! When we got home my daughter realized her necklace was missing. A moonstone pendant on a sterling silver chain. It was the last birthday present she got from her Dad before he passed away. We searched frantically for hours. At home, my car, the parking lot & movie theater. Around 11:45pm I returned to the theater & asked if someone would be able to review camera footage to see if my daughter was holding the necklace while purchasing the tickets. I left detailed info including my name & phone number. The gentleman I spoke with said to call 12pm today. I called 1:45pm when I got home from work. The gentleman I spoke with claimed to be the manager. I did not get his name. Plain & simple I got the run around. No one made an effort to review the cameras or contact me & preceded to say I cursed at him which is most certainly not true. I tried contacting upper management but that doesn't seem to exist. I would like to speak with a real live person not via email. This was handled very poorly & unprofessional!
cleaning
I attended a movie at Willowbrook 24 (Houston Tx) yesterday. Entering the movies there were peanuts and other items on the floor. My wife and I got to our seats and there were peanuts and paper in our seats. We left out and found an employee to clean up the area. The young lady cleaned up the seats and came back with a broom and dust pan to clean the carpet around the seats. As she was cleaning we were seating in some one else seat and had to move. After the movie we talked to the manager and expressed our concerns. I believed he had a nonchalant attitude. The cleanliness at the theater has taken a downward turn. I am thinking about cancelling my Premier Membership and looking for a new theatre.
ladies room
July 23, 2019 I attended a movie at the LaGrange, GA theater. During the movie I had to go to the ladies room. Upon entering the only pleople in the there were 2 girls approx 10 years old. When I came out of the stall, there was a adult male (employee) sweeping the floor. The girls were no longer there but there was another woman at the sink. We just looked at each other like 'what is happening here?' When we left the ladies room to the common area was a gentleman was asking us ' Did I just see a man go in the ladies room?' There was not announcement a man or housekeeping was entering the ladies room. I do not feel this is a safe enviroment for anyone much less young unaccomplanied girls. I did see a female employee after the movie was over. What is the reasoning to send a male employee to the ladies room when a female is available? I can see law suit developing from is practice. Will not return to this theater!
filthy ladies bathroom
Tremendous outpouring of movie goers for children's movies, and other patrons during this period you need to have a bathroom attendant on staff all day!!! Hire someone! Ladies bathroom had excrement on floor in one stall, blood & excrement in another stall. Bins overflowing with paper towels on floor. Toilet paper on floor. This is disgusting and a public...

employee relations
My daughter works for AMC. She decided to watch a movie with my son when her shift was over. The AMC she works at has assigned seating. When she walked into the theater, a guest was in her seat. She told the guest that was her seat, they called her names and she left with my son to find a manager. The manager had the guest moved and my daughter went to...
Read full review of AMC Theatressold us autism movies, bad popcorn and nonchalant manager making us feel like paupers
Hi. My daughter, Goddaughter and I just left an AMC theater in Durham NC (Southpoint). We purchased tickets at the theater. We were sold autism tickets. We were not informed that we were sold autism tickets. So, I bought three pop corns & drinks. The manager (Norman) reimbursed us for the tickets and gave us coupons for the pop-corn & drinks that we purchased. I feel cheated because I took off early from work and my daughter is in summer school at Meredith College. Next week is finals and it will be some time before we can watch again without making a major sacrifice. Attached, the points that we have there are indicative of our watching almost 100 movies. That is not to include the times tha t we did not swiped the rewards. I did not ask for the inconvenience. We wanted to watch the movie and go home. Norman made me feel as though I was a pauper because I told him I felt cheated of my time as well. Just a little over a month ago, Aladdin movie was bad. A couple weeks ago, there was a drill. I will take it to another level if I had to, such as consumer affairs and BBB. Norman was very monotone and nonchalant about it. I'm almost sure he knows us as much as we come. Plus, always being in the number of inconvenience. He told me to contact whomever. I will because I happen to know that contacting the complaints website won't do anything. If there is no problem then I have no complaint. I don't ask for these things to happen.
rockaway nj amc horrible theatre experience
As a family of 6 we don't go out to the movies often. When the Avengers End Game was released we thought it would be a nice treat to go to the movies as a family. We purchased the tickets 5 days in advance because we knew it would sell out and after spending close to $180 on tickets and refreshments we ended up having to sit separately and my husband and I had to sit on the floor because the movie was oversold and there were absolutely no seats left. We were unable to even enjoy our night out. We decided that it was just probably overwhelming for the theatre to handle such a big movie. But last night we went to see Spider-Man and we have come to the conclusion that the AMC in rockaway is not a place we want to be. The movie was at 7:45...we arrived at 7:00 and had to wait in an enormous line to buy the tickets, due to the fact that we were paying with cash and there was only one human being working at the ticket counter...there were plenty of other employees stopping by to talk to the guy, which only slowed down the line even further...then after finally getting the tickets at 8:00, we had to wait in another line for another employee to to scan our tickets that we had just purchased with the only human working, I cannot understand why they couldn't be scanned by the same person that had handed us our tickets? When I asked the "security guard" that was standing next to the lady that was sitting in a chair slowly scanning tickets on peoples phones if he could just rip out tickets for us he very rudely said "you can stand in line with everyone else". I myself work in customer service and I have never treated another human being like that. We ended up obviously missing the beginning of our movie even though we arrived 45 minutes in advance. My family went into the theatre and I waited on another huge line to purchase overpriced refreshments...and again waited 20 min in a line because only 3 registers were open and there was a separate line for "members" (whatever that means), there was absolutely nobody in that line but they couldn't help us regular customers. After finally getting my empty cups and food I went to the soda machine which was completely sticky as well as the floor and there was no place to put anything down because the butter station was full of salt, butter, and straw wrappers and napkins stuck to it. I finally got to enjoy the part of the movie I was able to see. Thinking my night if disappointment was over I had to use the restroom before we left...I don't want to even get into it but the bathroom was revolting ...urine and tp in every stall...didn't look like it was cleaned at all that day. It was such a let down to know that we spent our hard working money on such a horrible experience.
Just realized that no comments are posted to any complaints listed here...wonder if anyone from AMC even sees them? I couldn’t find any other way to contact them besides snail mail

I took the afternoon off to take my son for his birthday movie, bought tickets online, spent $3.78 convenience fee for online, and went to movie hoping to see it. We spent approx. $25.00 in snacks and sat over 1.1 hours and was told they were trying to fix the movie and approx. 15 min. later were then told it couldn't be fixed and would issue a refund. I did receive a refund for the tickets. The women's bathroom was being worked on for something and smelled like something came up out of the ground. The theater lights never came on for the elderly people to see the steps. I'm sorry but that was a wasted day and we were very excited to see this movie. I'm not signing up for AMC Stubs. A very bad experience, a wasted work afternoon for me and not good of a time spent with my son waiting for a movie that didn't happen to work. The conditions of that theater are terrible.
general theater experience
Worst movie experience ever! Went to the AMC Theater in Kennesaw GA. Got there on a Tuesday night at 6:30 for a 6:50 movie. I was third person in line and it took nearly 35 mins for the one ticket person to get me ticketed. My original movie had already gone into previews, so I opted for a 7:15 movie. Stood in the concession line until 7:20 and only two people moved in front of me. Had not eaten since early in the day but got out of line anyway to see the movie. Came back out to check the line about 20 minutes later. The people in front of me were still in line! So hungry that I left the theater to go get something to eat. Had no idea it would take over an hour to get a ticket and a bag of popcorn! Michael Brown [protected]@comcast.net
theatre experience
On 6/23/19 my daughter and I went to see a movie in theatre 5. There were mice running around the floor. We spoke to a manager ( who said thank you and that they would call an exterminator). We were given 4 re-admit passes and our money back for the food we had purchased. We left the theatre and sat outside with the food trying to recover. My daughter picked up a French fry and found fuzz and a hair attached (which we have a picture of). We are so disgusted by the uncleanliness of this theatre and at this point I am not interested in 4 re-admit passes. I want my full refund for the tickets I purchased. One adult and 1 child. It will be some time before we head back to this AMC. I can be reached at [protected]. The photos I have can be sent at a later time those photos are on my daughters phone and she is not with me at this time. Thank you. Elizabeth Bernstein. My AMC stubs ID # is [protected]
the nastiness of the theater for 1st show time of the day
When we arrived for the first movie at 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon bathrooms were overflowed with paper and no paper to dry hands and no soap when we walked into the movie theater there was popcorn and filled all over the floor like free movies have been shown in there already very discouraging we did not buy any sessions due to this thinking that area would be filthy as well never be back in This amc again. We will be going to euc theater down the road
customer service
I was having issues with my AMC Stubs mobi;e application. I called customer service at [protected] and spoke with LaKeisha (sp?) on 6/19 at 5:56pm. I asked if there were any reservations or movie charges on my account. She quickly looked and said there were no charges nor any movies reserved.
I got to the Regency AMC movie theater to get a ticket and was surprised to learn that I had two reserved seats and was charged for one of them. Imagine my surprise. The ticket representative was very nice and explained, and gave me a refund on the ticket I was charged.
Needless to say, I was not happy with the customer service I received at the 800 number.
