Do NOT use this company! They are a scam. I sent four books to them earlier this month and they claimed that one was counterfeit. When they claim it is counterfeit, they won’t even send it back to you. They use this as an excuse to keep the book without paying you for it. They also downgraded the price on another one by claiming it was not in condition as described without really proving this. They nearly force you to accept the downgraded price because if you don’t, they will make you pay to have it shipped back to you. I wrote them about the supposed counterfeit book and told them I had proof of purchase from a major, reputable bookseller. They responded and asked for proof of purchase, which I promptly sent. Then they never acknowledged receipt of this proof and I have written them three times since then. In addition, they tell you that if you do not accept their “counter offer” within 72 hours, you forfeit the right to money or return shipment of your books. Yet they can ignore my emails disputing their claim that the book I legitimately purchased is counterfeit. Sad that they can rip off students who are on limited budgets.

Desired outcome: The money they promised for the textbook as it is NOT counterfeit and I have written documentation of this plus proof of this being sent to them

We are really sorry to hear that you had a negative experience of doing business with us. Please let us explain the situation occurred with your buyback order #4358946. According to our records, a counterfeit copy was detected within your buyback order. We do take the matter with counterfeit items very seriously as trafficking in such items is a violation of US legislation.

Regrettably, the payment for the counterfeit book could not be processed as per obligations imposed by the publishers such items are subject to disposal in order to prevent further distribution. We hope that the matter with the item in question can be resolved, as a refund may be requested from the seller who initially sold the counterfeit copy to you.

Furthermore, upon processing, it appears that the item Foundations for Clinical Mental Health Counseling: An Introduction to the Profession (ISBN:  9780134384771) had its quote adjusted automatically from $56.30 to $22.52 because we received a book with the signs of heavy wear that did not correspond to “Used – Very Good” condition initially quoted. Please try to look at the situation from our perspective. Unfortunately, we do not pay initial quotes for the textbooks that are received with signs of heavy wear or water damage, as it is stated in our BooksRun policy that the customers agree to cooperate within.

Therefore, by taking into account the quote adjustment, your order was placed "On Hold" for 7 days so that you could either accept the quote or decline it and have the item shipped back to your address. The notification regarding the opened disputes was sent to your email address. After you had accepted the adjustment, the order was processed on 06/17/2024 and the payment for the rest of the books in your order was successfully issued to your PayPal account on 06/18/2024. 

Once again, we are grateful that you brought this matter to our attention. Please accept our deepest apologies for any inconvenience caused since we did not intentionally want to make the situation worse, but only to make it resolved in the best way. We are working hard to process all the inquiries through all the channels of communication offered, therefore, we try to provide speedy and informative responses to our customers' inquiries.
