I rarely shop at burlington but last weekend since i went to my brother's house and I was pressed for time and there was a Burlington in his area i stopped in to pick up a few things for my daughter to start a new job. Today i went back to return 3 of the items a pant a shirt and a pair of slippers. Frist of all it was around 12:30-1 there were only 2 registers open and about 4-5 people in line waiting so the lady at the register after she had rung up her customer kept talk and talking while customers were waiting she did that with the customer before as well so when it was my turn next inline she kept on with talking with same customer so turn around and said to the customer behind me i wish she would stop the chit chatting and take care of the customers waiting she may have heard me because she motioned me to come , when i got to the register handed her my receipt told her i was returning the items she told me she could not return it because the tags were not on there and she can't be sure i purchased the items from the store so isaid have my receipt you can match the items with the items number in your register , or get one off the floor then she said you expect me to look it up so i said yes that is your job then she said it looks like they were worn so i said to her these items were just brought last weekend and they have not been worn she then proceed to put them back in the bag , then i asked to speak to a manager she said she was the manager and walked away from the register . I was pissed but did not want to create a scene so i left and called her a b... that i would never spend my money again or ever set foot again in a Burlington store. this person that called herself a manager was rude, made assumptions that was incorrect, and need a lesson in customer service.
I did callback and ask for the manager of the store a gentleman answered he said he was the manager so i asked how many managers do you have he said 3 so i expalined what had occurred he said he will speak to her, buti i doubt that very much , these people that are managing these stores on helaf of these company dont have a clue about customer service nor do they care until business start failing and they wonder what went wrong . I willl forever continue to support Tjmaxx, Marshall, and Ross which is on the lower end of the spectrum, but they know how to treat customers, Bye Burlington, additional post to be made on google, facebook , Instagram, and wherever else i can post just to get the word out think twice before you shop at Burlington

You did the right thing by calling back and speaking to another manager, but you’re right to be skeptical about any real action being taken. It’s clear they don’t understand or care about customer service.
Take your experience public. Share your story on Google, Facebook, Instagram — every platform you can. Let people know how Burlington is treating their customers.
