unreliable hotline staff and rude remarks.
I sent a parcel to canada, because the receiver and his brother went vacation when the parcel reached them and the parcel is now undelivered (addressee is not being known in the correct address) and they kept on asking when canada post is going to return to sender just one hr after canada post take the parcel and return label, and when receiver call the post they said return to sender, return to sender, return to sender.
on 20./9, then on 21/10 they put the parcel to scarborough Undeliver office without telling us that they would not return the parcel to my country, they even write in facebook to ask me to use long distance call to call from my country to canada post, wasting my phone fee and long distance charges (peoples IDD1579) and they kept saying that on 20/9, then on 24/10, and even on 7 November 2013, the parcel is returned to Hongkong, but actually it's in canada
today, I got my country post claiming that canada suddenly abandoned/destroyed my parcel when the truth is they ask me to find receiver to tell him to see when to take the parcel. this is canada post service. very bad, and phone hotline, that [protected] are useless staff except a guy who said that if you friend moves to windsor, just tell him to find canada post to take the parcel back, only one man is useful other staff are useless. the staff are overpaid. they should not exist in canada post to destroy people's trust on canada post. canada post should revalue the phone hotline staff (Esp females who claim that my parcel is returned to hongkong, china. as the girls are rubbish and useless.)
now the worst, my parcel is claimed to be destroyed without reasons. what is the point of hiring people like THESE?

doubtful stealing of parcel, serious unreturn, doubt steal.
I sent a parcel from hong kong to canada (cp923440827hk) on 18 july 2013. on 30/8 the canada post gives to receiver. because of the 35 canada dollars customs tariff, receiver did not get the parcel the first time. according to what canada post gives to hongkong post, they not work on saturdays and sundays, but who knows that they would also count/include saturdays and sundays on the 15 days after the item was unsuccessfully delivered. they count saturday and sundays together! finally on 14/9 the item was due, on 16/9 the canada post return at 13:26, receiver called them on 14:00pm. they also claim return to sender, kept saying return to sender. but until now it's still in canada scarborough undeliver office, and canada post hotline staff are f*s. yes. they are f*s. they keep lying lying lying. that parcel return to hk on 24/10/2013. then 7/11/2013. they kept lying that item was returned. when it's still in canada, I even doubt canada post wanna steal yes if not steal then why? if not steal, why? the item finally and suddenly, changed from return to sender on 20 september 2013, to 21 october 2013, onto scarborough undeliver mail office and claim that, because sender click abandon, we abandon it ourselves. but when receiver and I call canada post, it's return to hongkong, which makes me hate canada post. I rarely swear, but seeing canada post so f*, can never unsay profanities. they worth and deserve the profanities.

I got a notice in the mail to pick up a package yesterday. I went today and they said it wasn't in. I find that to be rude and dishonest on their part.
This made me laugh so hard. I guess you need to spam this site with comment after comment of broken-English complaints? Get a grip.
canada post ataff are all overpaid.
canada post should really go to hell for being so dishonest
canada post go to hell
sounds like CANADA POST always use the alibi of return to sender or abandon to steal people's parcel contents.
sounds like CANADA POST ALWAYS STEAL PEOPLE MAILS BY CLAIMING TO RETURN OR ABANDONED BUT ACTUALLY THEY STEAL PEOPLE's PARCEL ITEMS
Canada post do things very bad and very terrible, sounds like they do as they want without caring how people feels
demeaning, terrible customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service on multiple occasions. The male clerk who works there seriously needs a filter on that mouth of his; he spews outrageously demeaning and ridiculous comments on otherwise trivial things.
For example, the very first time I went into this particular post office, I was in quite a rush. I was briskly writing down the shipping information onto my mailing envelope when the male clerk comes over and comments on how messy my handwriting was and how his was so much neater and more eligible. Excuse me!? First of all, I did not ask for your 'professional' opinion on my handwriting. So long as it's eligible, does it matter? (It was absolutely eligible, the second clerk who processed it didn't have a problem reading it) Secondly, how rude of you to belittle a customer while boasting your own nonsensical, delusional ego over such miniscule things. It may sound like I'm over reacting, and I might be, if I were just this one incident.
The following few incidents occurred not to me, but to my mother over a period of time. Whenever my mom would head into the post office, she presses the handicapped button that automatically opens the door. The same male clerk decides to comment, in a very demeaning and condescending tone, on why she would not just open the door manually, without the aid of the button. Now, we both my mother and i know it is meant for people with disabilities, and seniors. Both of us completely understand and respect it. My mother is a 5 foot, 55 year old woman who has had multiple surgeries done to her upper body, a history of asthma, and a poor spinal condition. I would think she's entitled, or at least privileged, to use it if she so chooses. Even when trying to explain to this stubborn mule of a man about her condition, he snarks at her and continues to patronize her about how it's exclusive to target audience, and how she should manually open the door instead.
In both these situations as well as several others, this male clerk has exhibited a rude, and demeaning attitude towards us. None of the things my mother nor I have done are of criminal offense, or down-right ignorant. My handwriting has nothing to do with you and my mother was not excessively abusing senior / handicap rights. Heck, she's practically a senior herself. If you have such a problem with her 'taking advantage' of handicap privileges, then a kind, sympathetic tone would be perfectly fine.
Needless to say we both stopped coming to this post office not just because of his patronizing comments at my mother regarding the door, but also because of his deluded, self-righteous, egotistical attitude. It's toxic.
why we must report unfair treatment from rude people because those rude people would improve if people willing to complain any rude and unfair things they faced due to this kind of rudeness from those rude canada post hotline staff. or else, those die staff would still be so rude.
any rude staff must be reported to avoid them to be rude to others again/anymore
the male clerk should be reported to canada post hotline and headquarter for being rude to your mom, your mom is not handicap but she is elderly (her age) and he should not be so disrespectful to old aged people himself. I think you should have reported him, if not, copy his name or staff code, report him to canada post to make them punish him, penalize him (give him penalty for being rude)
the male clerk is rude, you should report his behavior to his supervisor/upper to make him being fired.
extremely rude service
To begin, I must admit that I do not use the Canadian Postal Service very often. In this digital age I typically use email or other methods of electronic communication. However I do mail cards and parcels on special occasions, and on these occasions I expect to be treated with respect and not to be made to feel incompetent, despite my lack of knowledge.
The incident that inspired me to write this complaint occurred when I was attempting to mail my parents and anniversary card and present. At first I was assisted by a perfectly pleasant woman who was kindly explaining the different costs of envelopes and postage to me. However, when she had to take a phone call leaving me standing at the counter I heard someone loudly exclaim "HELLO?" at me from the other side of the room. An older woman was waving for me to come to her to finish my transaction at her till. When I approached she sharply said "So what are we doing here?". I explained how I would like to mail the card and parcel to Toronto. Before I could finish she interrupted "together or separately?". When I said it didn't matter she sighed and ROLLED HER EYES AT ME..."Well, it depends if you want it to be a parcel or not, that will be over $10". At this point I felt like I was SUCH and inconvenience to this woman that I didn't ask any more questions and just paid. Her rudeness didn't stop there. When my debit card chip didn't work after the first try she ripped it out of the machine and looked over at her colleague like it was just one thing after the other with me. She then stuffed my items in the envelope asking me if I had tried all of the sizes before picking the one that I had. She told me that was what "most people did". The one I had chosen was a little snug but I couldn't get another because she had bent it out of shape during her attempts to shove my items inside. At this point, the nice lady who was helping me before told the new lady that I could save money by mailing the items separately. She replied "She didn't want to so what am I supposed to do?" I felt like that wasn't an option! I couldn't wait to get out of there but I still needed to address my parcel. I began to write on the counter in front of the till, however more people had entered the store and the lady loudly cleared her throat so that I would move down and out of the line of traffic.
During this experience at my local Canada Post office I was made to feel as though I was incompetent and a major inconvenience to this lady's day. I have a feeling that this has something to do with my age. I am 26 years old and come from a generation that is less familiar with the regular mail system. However, that does not mean that I deserve to be discriminated against. I acted and dressed in a very respectable manner and appeared eager to learn. This woman decided to simply write it me off as a foolish young person, ruining my day in the process.
The person in line behind me was an elderly man trying to pay his phone bill via the Canada Post. She greeted him by saying "Well hello again sir! How is your day going so far?" I left the building hoping that she wouldn't "forget" to stick my parcel in the box.

My Canada post carrier is Harassing me. I have filed a complaint for with the Regina City police service for carrier er service Harassment. If a confrontation occurs i will be pressing charges against Canada post. I have legal counsel and am ready to use it. 2100 Osler st. Regina SASK .s4p1w6 Fridays service and last thursdays service. If looking for a fight you can just bring it on. Shame on Canada post
I agree that a complaint about the rudeness of this staff member should have been made...not that I'm telling you what to do :). I have worked in many customer service industries and even when polite, people have complained just because they didn't like what they heard or if they didn't get what they wanted. It wasn't because of rudeness. So what I'm saying is that the woman who assisted you represents Canada Post and CP can't afford to have the public dislike them any more than we already do. Like most crown corporations, they take our money then treat us like crap. I was very shy at one time and wouldn't say crap if my mouth was full of it BUT NOW I am tired of insecure and ill-mannered business personnel treating us badly - we are their bread and butter. They CAN BE REPLACED...UNION OR NOT...So next time, please don't feel like you can't say something, you are important and deserve to be treated with respect.
you should really report this rude female staff to her upper/supervisor. if you never report her, this kind of rude girl would still work and make mroe canadians suffer her rudeness

Read full review of Canada Post and 6 commentsmoneygram service
I used Moneygram for their claimed 'fast service'. However when I tried to recover my money at one of their partners (Canada Post) I was told that is Canada Post policy to deliver ONLY cheques (regarding the amount).
I talked to a moneygram representative, (even with a manger) and I was told they can't do anything about. So with this cheque I have to go at a bank and cash it. Then I asking myself: where is the fast service?
On their page Moneygram advertise - quote - "You can send and receive money in Canada via our cash to cash service by using any of our local agents around the world.
The name of the manager is Paramjeet in Canada Post, Central City, Surrey. I also tried SHOPPERS DRUG MART-CANADA POST
8962 152 st, surrey, BC.
I would call this false advertising

Same thing happened to me in Banff Alberta while on holiday. Post office told me that they did not have funds to cover MoneyGram so they issued a cheque instead. Told me I could cash it at any bank. Went to three banks and was told I had to have an account there so couldn't get it cashed. I had to wait until I got back from vacation and cashed it at my bank. The information on Canada Post website should have a disclaimer about cashing limitations.
theft
I sent my son to put an envelope in the box, instead he made the mistake by putting it into the out going mail. It was a white envelope containing 250$ with the name antoinette. I called canada post right away and informed them about my situation. They said no worries give it a few days and it will show up in our lost mail department, well 6 months later nothing ! What I did was I put another white envelope with out money this time and again 4 months nothing ! So they said there is nothing they can do, I was very upset at the lack of concern that they possibly have a sticky finger employer within a company such as canada post ! Beware of this company.

non delivery of parcel
An item / parcel was sent from india (tracking no rk060331472in) on 28 sep 2012, to mr simili. V. Deepak in halifax, ns, canada, even as on date the item has not been delivered to him at his address, the tracking information provided on the canada post web site, is incorrect and unhelpful, I am unable to launch a complaint on their web site. I have already launched a complaint with our india post at bangalore, the item has reached halifax ns (this is confirmed by canada post) , hence it is the responsibility of canada post to deliver the item to simili. V. Deepak. He is a student at dal univ, and the item is a pair of prescription / spectacles, you will appreciate the importance of such an item for a student.
Kindly expedite and have the item delivered
I, s. V. Venkatesh, is the sender of the item from bangalore, india.

Canada Post is not delivering parcels to our apartment building. Usually you get an 'attempted delivery' notice even though you've been at home waiting. Lately they don't even leave a notice and you only know your package was delivered if you use their tracking service or you get a reminder notice. After complaining, I was told that CP is only responsible to deliver to the front door of a building not to your front door. We are supposed to go down to the lobby and pick up our parcel. Since they don't ring your apartment I guess I should sit in the lobby all day until I see the driver? CP has horrible customer service but you can be like that when you have a monopoly. I am disabled and the nearest post office is too far away for me to walk to and even if I did drive, there is no place to park. I am switching to FedEx for deliveries from now on.
"I am switching to FedEx for deliveries from now on."
But these are parcels being sent to you?
If Hello Peter were a reputable consumer rights campaigner as they claim to be they would check the veracity of the complaint with the supplier before they publish the complaint which ranks high on search engines and has a negative effect on the supplier, or at the very least offer the supplier the opportunity to respond for free.
cursing and defacing mail
Walkway wasn't shoveled until the evening after work - delivery man was swearing outside our home - my spouse heard him. She wasn't able to do the shoveling due to a heart condition. Got home today to have please shovel walkway written across one of my t4 tax documents.
Completely unacceptable.
lied about attempted delivery...
The mail delivery person does NOT buzz people when parcels are being delivered as he claims to do. He just leaves an "attempted delivery" slip that states no one was home... this has happened several times no less (and since I was tracking this latest order, I was actually waiting for him. It had stated "out for delivery" when I checked the status of the delivery earlier that day, and yes, I was actually home - I saw him drive away (too late to catch him...). I watched the status of the delivery on the computer screen change to attempted delivery - no one was home!
I put in a complaint several months ago for the very same thing... no one ever got back to me like Canada Post promised they would (and even though I'm pretty sure it's happened several times since, I tried to give Canada Post the benefit of the doubt thinking I had somehow possibly missed them - even though it wasn't likely)!
I don't actually imagine anything will done (anymore than with the last complaint). I doubt Canada Post sees any connection to their corporation losing money and the poor business they provide. It really doesn't surprise me why people don't use the mail service like they used to... I surely don't (unless I don't have any other option at the time)!

hostile letter carrier
I wrote a complaint email to Canada Post about irregular mail delivery.
The "supervisor" for the area ended up giving the letter carrier my name and address and that I had filed a complaint against him. When I picked up a package from the lobby the following day he was very confrontational by asking me "Are you the one who complained?" I felt threatened.
Now I have parcels being sent back to vendors because no notices of delivery attempts were made!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
delivery notice instead of delivered parcel
I was working from home today, there was no knock in the door or a phone call. So I was very surprised to find a Delivery Notice with "No answer" in my mailbox. There wasn't any attempt to deliver the parcel, they just put this Notice into the box, very disappointing service.
this happened to me today
i still haven't figured do how Canada post got my package we usually deal with another company
they want us to pay 62 dollars to get it
but cant/ wont tell us where the amount comes from
and rude on top of that
my BF is autistic rude people can throw him in to a temper
thankfully his non violent and doesn't hurt himself

xpresspost
I shipped documents from a Canada Post outlet located in a local Shopper's Drugmart on November 25th 2012 with Xpresspost option. The tracking number provided did not work on the tracking website, and resulted in "Tracking Number Not Found". Now, on November 29th, I went back to the Shopper's Drugmart Canada Post Outlet to see if they could figure out what happened with my letter. Bear in mind this is now 4 days later, and the letter should have already reached the destination (2 days quoted). They simply told me to call the Canada Post 1-800 number. I called it, they told me they couldn't locate the tracking number and to go back to the Canada Post Outlet to see what they can do.
So, I went back to the Canada Post Outlet - and they told me that they "can't do anything about it, it's up to Canada Post to refund you". I asked: "But aren't you Canada Post?" They were clearly confused, but insisted that they could not offer any refund or indication of what happened to my letter. I continued to argue that Xpresspost is advertised right on their wall with the words "guaranteed delivery", and so what does guarantee mean in their view? They stopped talking at this point..
Moral of this story - for the love of GOD - DO NOT USE XPRESSPOST! EVER! They are complete fools, incompetant beyond comprehension, useless, and so on. My documents are lost now, and they could not offer any sort of solution despite their "guaranteed delivery" mantra.

It would be beneficial if you would submit your complaint via registered mail to Canada Post CEO Deepak Chopra, Canada Post, 2701 Riverside Dr, Unit 1200, Ottawa, ON K1A 0B1. Hopefully they can find their own headquarters, but who really knows.
harassment
I am constantly being accosted by a Canada Post Letter Carrier. He stops by my apartment when he has no packages, asks me out, and even asks to use my washroom! He even holds onto my packages when I am not at home instead of leaving a pick up notice and delivers when I am at home. What can I do and what can I expect to have resolved? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. I had a confrontation with him already demanding that he leave me alone and am now worried that I won't receive my packages. This is troublesome as I order quite a bit online. Help Please?
Thanks

delivery notification
I was given a delivery notice in my mail box today saying there was no answer and to pick up my package tomorrow afternoon after 1pm. I've been home all day...if someone had actually knocked or rang the doorbell I would've heard it and my dog would've heard it and let me know someone was here if I did in fact miss a knock. Clearly the delivery staff is not doing there jobs and taking the easy way out by just quielty slipping the notice in the mailbox. FOR SHAME. Now I have to take time out of my day tomorrow to pick something up that should have been delivered because the anti-social staff don't know how to socialize with the general population. Perhaps these people should not be doing these jobs if they can't apply themselves!

I do a lot of online shopping and this happens to me all the time. I am home all day and constantly get delivery notifications in my community mail box that does not have a parcel box. We had a carrier in the past who would deliver the packages to me. We recently lost her due to her being re routed. There is absolutely no attemt of delivery( I find the notification card in my community mail box). This lazy Union worker never comes to the house. I live less than 1km away from the box. Now I have to drive out of my to pick up parcels that should be delivered to the door like the commercial Canada post so proudly has out there. I have called and complained 3 times now and just get an apology and am told they would look into it, but it keeps happening. There must be something that can be done.
I live in Quebec and i get 10-20 parcels a year and anything that does'nt fit my mailbox is marked as "no answer". This is just a lame strategy Canada wide possibly to reduce load and volume on delivery staff and save time. Point is we paid for that delivery at our door step, fedex comes up, purolator comes up, ups comes up, canada post doesnt come up. This is not a single delivery man issue, i moved a few times in the same town and it was the same issue in every part of town. Could we just pay to get our packages delivered to the specified address instead of doing your job? oh right we did... Dont expect my support when you go on strike, you will get a finger instead of a honk. There's always burgers to flip, don't wanna climb up the stairs? Get a new job
Maybe your doorbell is broken?
parcel delivery
Just had another parcel delivered by Canada Post. This time Ombudsman was tracking it. Not
supposed to be delivered if no answer. Told it was delivered successfully at 10:04 on Wed. June
13/2012. Never showed until 12:30 p.m. Left out in pouring rain. This was a test and they still
screwed up! Ombudsman states that they will follow up. What a joke. Even when Mr. Haymour
superintendent given a heads up mistakes are still made. I conclude that getting rid of some of these contracting jobs for deliveries would work better. They also have a new scanning GPS. system. Well it was really worth the thousands they spent on it wasn't it? The delivery person
didn't know how to use it apparently!

request not processed for new mailbox keys
On June the 5th, 2012 in the afternoon I called Canada Post and was connected with a representative from New Brunswick. In talking with this male representative I made a request to get new mailbox keys as mine had been stolen from my car. I provided him with all of the necessary information: my name, address, town, province, postal code and was told by him that I should have my new keys by Friday June 8th, 2012. Guess what happened? No keys and no mailbox lock has been changed to date, and it is now June 12th, 2012. I'd made a call in the late afternoon on June 8th, 2012 to inquire about where my keys were, and was told by another Canada Post representative that she could see my request was open as I'd given her my ticket number, but she could not tell me when I was going to get my notification about the new keys to access the mailbox. The weekend went by, and then again on Monday June 11th, 2012 I called Canada Post as I'd still not received my notification by mid afternoon, but was told they were checking into it. Today is now Tuesday June 12th, 2012 and I have spoken with 3 different representatives from Canada Post, and again no notification to pick up the new keys! One representative that I spoke with late this afternoon told me that she had spoken with the rural route driver for our area, who delivers our mail and would also be the one to change the lock on the mail box, and that person had no knowledge of my mailbox needing a new lock and keys so I could access my mail, which I last did on Friday June 1st, 2012. I've asked this person to have her supervisor/manager call me immediately, as I'd explained to her I had important documents in my mailbox that needed to be accessed by me. It is now 4:20 pm and there has been no record of any call on my caller ID that I have on my phone. I'm completely disgusted with this corporation and from this point on I will NEVER again use their services for anything. I will ensure that I have a lock smith make at least 4 more keys, as I never want to have to deal with this corporation again.
