Batteries are No Good
I bought a Motocraft Battery from Canadian tire 6 years ago and it just died. OK thats not the best performance but its not the worst. Anyways I went back to Canadian Tire in Cochrane Alberta and bought the step up size Battery with a 3 year warranty as to the last one I bought that had gone from 2 to 1 year warranty. It was for my 2001 Ford F-150 XLT. I took the first one home and put it in. It sparked then it was dead. I thought faulty, I'll take it back and get another one. I did and this time I asked for the same type I had in the Truck originally. I don't think any of this stuff is motocraft anymore. It didn't work either, so I put the booster cables to it and it fired up fine. Let it run for 20 minutes then took it for a drive. When I got home I shut it off and tried to fire it up again. NOTHING! 2 Batteries, 2 POS. I got a refund and my old battery back and left. I put the old battery on a trickle charger overnight and put it in the next morn. It fired up fine and is running fine now. I don't know what kinda of batteries you're selling now but they will definitely lose you business.
Desired outcome: Change your line of vehicle Batteries!
Customer service
March 28, 2021, I will not go into detail because I am sick of talking and nothing gets done. The best thing to do is close down Prince George store. When you complain about anything even the general manager does not follow up to solve an issue. I bought a pair of Stanley steel toe work boots. After about 4 months they slit open. I returned to the store...
Read full review of Canadian TireOver 100 human rights violations by canadian tire on mask exempt people
I am shocked, appalled and disgusted that a company with the esteem of Canadian Tire would assault, abuse and humiliate people with valid mask exemptions. You don't get to over-ride the health authorities, all of us mere mortals out here have to take the persecution of these ridiculous orders so you should have to abide by the respect for people with exemptions. I just watched an old man being choked out - red in the face - by unmasked burly Canadian Tire security people - it is a terrifying video. I watched another elderly couple being harassed then assaulted for trying to shop. Don't try and run any [censored] on me about store policies or the bylaws - you have to take care of mask-exempt people and there are many people who are exempt. Would they have slam dunked a thalidomide person or someone with cerebral palsy who cannot put on or remove masks themselves? Your business conduct is disgraceful, cruel and physically harmful to regular human beings with a disability. SHAME ON YOU ALL. I have shopped my entire life at Canadian Tire - I am done with you now. You used to be leaders.
Desired outcome: Stop ordering your employees to abuse mask exempt people. Stop putting chokeholds on anyone!
Mastercard
Law suit from Canadian tire bank going after my Mom for the full amount filed in small claims court Walkerton ontario by Global credit &Collection Inc the paralegal is Kasturi Thayaparan law society # p12412th and get I am the one who.makes payments on all the cards only what is affordable . Mom 82 years old lost my father Moms husband Dec 20/2020 at 4:30 . Plus papers delivered by hand no safety was taken to protect my Mom from covid -19 she has not had her needle yet my Mom was in tears and having a panic attack saying that we are going to lose everything
Desired outcome: Drop payments to 60.00 a month drop small claims and make it right with my.Mom
My Mom was in tears and having a panic attack because of what is being done by these people it has taken over four hours for me to get her to relax a bit . When you have lost the love of your life and soul mate there are no words that could make anyone understand it . Plus no safety was taken to protect my Mom against covid-19 and I also sent them a letter and I don't think they will even look at it because they only care about money and nothing else .
Price Match policy not respected
I purchased bowflex M5 elliptical on line Jan 7, 2021 for $1999.00 plus taxes. After few days I did not receive confirmation of my order nor an invoice. I called Canadian tire customer service only to find out my email address was incorrect. Agent said she was not able to reprint invoice but fixed me email . She also told me the same product was on sale for $1699.00 at least 2 different Canadian Tire stores as follows: Place lebourgneuf, 5500 boul does Grandines, QC and 3525 boul des Forges Trois Rivière. The customer service agent told me to call the store where the order was going to be shipped from and ask for price match and copy of invoice. I immediately call the Canadian tire in Chambly and spoke to Louise, she said the order was being packed and will be shipped next day or so. I also asked about the price match and she confirmed it was $1699.00 at the above stores but said due to COVID store closure with the exceptions of essential goods they were unable to process the price match and refund me $300.00 plus tax. Once stores reopened I called them and asked if she can process the price match, she said that I needed to go to the Canadian Tire in Chambly for my refund. I stated tomLouise that I did not have a vehicle so she spoke to her manager and called me back that I would be able to get a price match at any Canadian Tire store in my area. I proceeded to go to 4 Canadian Tire stores : St. Jacques St. Angrignon LaSalle, Place Vert, St. Laurent and Alexis Nihon Plaza . They all told by all 4 stores that they would not be able to help me as I was outside the 200 Km radius and that their cash would not allow a refund . I called Canadian tire customer service and spoke to an agent who said that he would send me $50 Canadian tire card for my taxi ride to go to the Chambly store where I needed to get my price match. I asked to speak to a manger was was told she was having technical issues with her computer and that she would call me within the hour. She never called and I never got the promised $50 Canadian Tire gift card. I tried calling customer service again and was givin a case number [protected] and was told after many calls that I needed to get my price match at the Chambly store and that there was nothing anyone can do to help me . Bottom line I was told I have 2 problems, no invoice and I need to go to Chambly. I do have my order detail confirmation that I was able to have sent to my email. So, last Friday I called Chambly that I found some to take me to the store for my price match and was told my Louise that she had no idea who I was that she never spoke with me and had no idea what I was talking about and tough luck for me. This is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Canadian tire and totally unacceptable. I have been given the run-a round for 2 months. Taking advantage of a poor customer that does not have a vehicle and had an operation also COVID 19 so i needed the bowflex for rehabilaition.
I have never seen such horrible service . I want the email, of the president of Canadian Tire and tell them what terrible service especially the words by your customer service . I cannot help you, there is nothing that can be done . Like WOW . Totally unacceptable. I want what is rightfully mind and something you advertise. It is $300 plus tax is a lot of money for a poor person meanwhile Canadian Tire does not care about customer, what am I to do?
Desired outcome: I want my price match as I was promised
Garbage you sell
Lifetime warranty on hand tools. Why are you selling garbage hand tools that bend and are loose so they dont function properly. Its filling up landfills you should be charged for selling garbage that I have to constantly return. I have stopped buying your lifetime warranty hand tools. They are a cheaper version but really with all the gas i have to use and ferries i have to take to return them they are not cheaper at all.
Desired outcome: Stop selling garbage
MIlano Expression Watch
I purchased a watch of the noted company on 10/16/2019 from Canadian Tire, 258 Merivale Rd, Nepean Ottawa, ON. This product has 5 Year limited warranty. Today (05/13/201021) I went to the store to get a change of the watch. I was never told at the time of purchase that after one year Canadian Tire will not change the watch and I have to send it to the company.
It is not an expensive watch but I think as a seller or agent of the company Canadian Tire should change the watch to keep its reputation
with the customer.
I hope, Canadian Tire will give me a change of watch.
Horrible customer service - product failure
This incident has happened on Friday March 5th at 3:50 p.m in Canadian Tire store located at 11720 Yonge St. where I brought a quality failiour meet grinder to return. This issue could cause a serious health problem with the user of this this product which is sold by Canadian Tire. My little 5 year old daughter was with me when a customer service...

On Saturday February 20, 2021 in Wasaga Beach Canadian Tire store, my husband was horribly treated by Canadian Tire employee for not using hand chemicals. In addition, they wanted to cause him an allergic reaction, he was threatened that they will call police and he was refused service. It is unacceptable and appaling to treat the client the way Canadian Tire has.
We are terrified and shocked by this situation and there is no excuse for this bullying and medical segregation.
I don't know if we will ever be able to forget about this humiliation and to be customers of your stores again. It's a pity because it's a Canadian business.
Sincerely, Maria Czarzasty

what I saw was disgusting and I will be reposting it every week until I die. You guys should be ashamed of your conduct in this situation which could've been resolved differently. I will no longer be shopping at your establishment and will be spreading word of mouth the atrocities that were committed. I hope that poor man sues you guys and gets everyone of the people involved fired and charged with assault. Once again I will not be shopping at your stores ever again. There should be a public apology given to this man and any other patron that had been assaulted by your negligent staff. YOU AND YOUR STAFF DO NOT KNOW PEOPLES HISTORY OR PROBLEMS IF THEYRE EXEMPT OR NOT IT IS NOT A LAW IT IS AN ILLEGITIMATE MANDATE.
I'm scared to enter your stores Now also. Your employees and their families have targets on their backs now. This is not a threat from me it's human nature! Why did they feel the need to assault a customer?
Desired outcome: I want them all fired. There are starving families that would love to go to work while you guys monopolize on hard times because you can grease the wheels to stay open
The viral video
I am disgusted from the viral video that I saw where your store managers assaulted, abused and attacked a customer. regardless if he was in the wrong, he showed no disrespect or harm or was threatening in any manner. people are tired of the store policies that are enforcing government "guidelines". Why not take a more active role to accommodate customers that do not wish to wear a mask. They have a right to shop without being harassed just as much as customers who chooses to wear a mask. Do the right thing! stand up for freedom of choice. Take down the signs that read masks are required to enter your store and add signs that reads we respect medical exceptions. Keep in mind govt is sharing guidelines. if these big box stores don't stand up towards the government how do we have a chance? you think the small businesses that have been force to close can make an impact ? you have a responsibility. Do the right thing!
Desired outcome: Public apology n corporate policy change that encourages medical exceptions
Service
Why are your employees choking people in your stores? Absolutely disgusting. They should all be fired and arrested.
Desired outcome: Bankruptcy
Access and exits
In recent months, I have visited Canadian Tire locations in Red Deer, Sylvan Lake and Rocky Mountain House. My issue with all of these locations is this: Numerous exits are being blocked off by gates, shelving, etc. It is my understanding that all of these exits are required fire exits by OHS legislation. With the numbers of people in these stores at any given time, it is very dangerous to have these exits blocked in case of an emergency. Is this Canadian Tire policy or are these stores doing this on their own?
Desired outcome: Reply and action taken at locations
After viewing the video today showing a customer with a medical exemption being violently taken down by your employees (for not wearing a mask?!?) I will never again set foot in a Canadian tire. And I will continue to re post this video to show the world how Canadian tire treats customers with medical issues. Also every person who took physical action against that man should be charged in court, and relieved of their jobs. Shame on Canadian tire for fostering such an ignorant, intolerant attitude in their store.
Product and services
Greetings customer service,
I Daniel Martin a retired senior with 38 yrs work experience with Employment and Immigration Canada and subsequently Correctional Services Canada. I walked into your store 270 at 1519 Regent Ave. Winnipeg Manitoba R2C 4M4 at about 1.30 pm this afternoon. I was there for the purpose of asking for a refund on a pair Altra Industrial mens size 9 boots I purchased over the summer. This was my third visit for that said pair of boots that was and remains defective. They replaced my original boots because the upper heal part came apart from the rest of the boot. I purchased the industrial boot as part of my motorcycle attire. They are advertised as an industrial boot although my motorcycle activity cannot be considered as an industrial activity. Therefore through normal wear that boot should have lasted several years. I came by this fall for the same problem with the back of the boot coming apart. They again replaced the boots which did the same thing a month later. But because of COVID I waited until today to return the boots and possibly negotiate for a trade of equal value.
I went directly to customer service where the young lady behind the counter told me it was over the 90 days allowed under the warranty.
I tried to explain that they were defective and even if the warranty had expired that Canadian Tire would make it right. Or at least that is what I thought of what good customer service was all about. To my surprise the young lady called one of the assistant managers on duty. I wasn't ready for what happened next. Another lady shows up I presumed the she was the assistant mgr. as she did not greet me or identified who she was. A bit perplexing for a senior citizen who dealt with the public for many years. She was certainly brisk about the whole encounter. Had a short chat with the customer service person and directed her attention towards me and said expired warrantee can't help you. I said that is it to which she replied in the affirmative. I than asked if I could speak with the mgr. of the store. After much deliberation with the assistant mgr. and the service clerk they indicated the Mgr was not in the store. At that instance I asked to speak to whoever was in charge of the store. I waited for what seemed like 15 mins or so. When some other lady showed up. I presumed she was the manager although she did not introduce herself or talked to me directly. The three of them were discussing the matter for several minutes before coming back to the counter and announcing they couldn't help me further. I think they picked up on my displeasure as I packed my boots back and proceeded to leave the store. What I found more appalling is the the fact I was treated like a criminal. Like I was trying to steal something. They watched my wife and I while we were about to leave in this extremely cold weather. I said to my wife I gives me a funny feeling the way they are looking at us. It was like we were criminals trying to take advantage of the system. All I wanted was an acknowledgment of my complaint of a faulty product. That is all. Thank you for your consideration in advance..
Yours Truly,
Daniel Martin

Unethical behaviour
On February 2, 2021 at Canadian tire in Lloydminster Alberta. I was looking for an employee to help me with service. An older male employee with a grey beard I believe his name is Rod or Rob was very rude. The employee was was yelling at two younger employees telling them that they were going to get fired for not working fast enough I believe. Behavior...

I am shocked at this store. I am disgusted. I am a disabled person with mask exemption. I was stopped at the door by a very grubby looking security guard. I told him I was exempt. He said no exemptions for their store. I told him that was illegal and against my rights. He argued that it wasn't and he told me to leave. I persisted and he said not this again...
