Car repair overcharge
Date of incident: June 23-24, 2021 I live in Toronto and was visiting Lemington. My brakes were making horrible sounds as I was heading home, I took it to the nearest mechanic I could find. I explained I wanted to least yet safest amount of work completed, that wouldn't too much time, as I was on my way home. If my car couldn't get serviced that day, I...

This complaint is about the automotive manager at the Canadian Tire store in Vernon B.C.. Brought car in on June 22 because of a radiator leak. We were ready for a 5 hour trip home. Needed a new radiator which would be there in the afternoon. Told one part that had to come from Kelowna, wouldn't arrive until next day. Would definitely be ready to go by noon the next day. Arrived 11:30, no part. Checked in a number of times wondering where the part was and emphasizing that we needed to get home. It's a one hour drive from Kelowna. Kept being told that it was on it's way. Waited all day. No part. At 3 pm given song and dance blaming the delivery service. Told then that the part we were waiting for wasn't broken because the mechanic had such a gentle touch and hadn't broken it. It was just recommended that it be replaced with the radiator. We had not been informed of this before. I strongly believe that if it wasn't broken and it was just a recommendation that it be replaced, my daughter should have been given the option of keeping the old one that was still working. The car would have been ready in the morning and my daughter would have been home for work. We had waited all day, daughter had missed work, and it was all totally unnecessary! There was no ownership of the problem, just blaming the delivery service and manufacturer for recommending the part be replaced. I told him we should get a discount because of the great inconvenience this had caused us and he said "no, you won't get a discount". My daughter was close to tears and I was livid. We were understanding up to the point where we found out that the part didn't even need to be replaced! He even gave a one year warranty on the part which seems to mean to me that he's pretty confident that there's nothing wrong with it. So, why was it being replaced. This was totally unacceptable!
Desired outcome: acknowledgement that this was not handled well.

To Whom it May concern,
I was looking for a Kitchenaid Mixer for a gift. I found one on line for $469.98 and saw that on June 21 and 22, there was a $30 Canadian Tire $ bonus if you spent over $150. I went to the Canadian Tire location at Main Square to find it closed before 8 pm, the sign on the door indicated it closed at 7pm. I assumed when they reopened stores that the hours were back to normal. So I went back this morning at 8 am when they opened. I asked if they would honour the deal but the associate at the desk said she couldn't do anything at store level.
I called head office at lunch time and the lady said she couldn't do anything. She told me that stores may have different hours and that the store hours would be posted online. Who checks store hours before going shopping. Like I said before, I assumed hours would go back to normal once everything reopened.
For $30, I can't understand a store loosing a $500.00 sale.
Please look into this and let me know if anything can be done.
I want to continue to support Canadian Tire but if things can be bought for less at other stores, ie. Walmart, why wouldn't I shop there?
Thank you,

Worx lawn mower
I purchased a worx lawn mower on June 17, 2021. Price $449.99 plus taxes $508.49... WX NIT 40V5AHMW... it wouldn't fit in my car, so we used my son's car. The lawnmower was missing a bolt on the wheel. I went back to the CDN Tire at 59 Bath Rd, Kingston On Sun June 20... Nathan C. the manager tried taking the bolt off the display one... I purchased a Supercycle mountain bike from the Canadian Tire on 65 Pinebush Rd in Cambridge, On. The bike was intended to get me to and from work. The first time I rode it, the pedals crank became so loose I almost veered into traffic and had a serious accident. I tightened it up when I got to work and thought it was fine, on the way home the whole thing...

Purchased a gas lawnmower for Canadian tire in Saint Agathe online for curbside pickup 5 days ago. They said on the store website the product was in stock.
Went today and it still has not been picked and the guy that does the picking of products doesn't work on weekends and was out to lunch when I went to the store.
Maybe if you could come back tomorrow it might be ready.
They said it was in stock at that store 6 days later I still can't get one with an online order or going directly to the store today.
Also they say they have curbside pickup but you have to go into the returns desk when you get to the store and wait in line after everyone who is returning a product. I guess Canadian Tire doesn't know we are still in a pandemic and false advertising saying they have curbside pickup is just incorrect and wrong. They say they are Canada's store but don't seem to care about our safety or service.
Think I will just go buy it some where else that doesn't false advertise it is in stock and you have a curbside pickup option.
Desired outcome: I would like to get my lawnmower and an apology for telling me they had curbside pickup when they clearly didn't offer that service. Also saying the product was in stock but not available when I went to the store.
Online order product in stock lie.
CanadianTire.ca The Run around lie online.
Well I'm mad!
Canadian tire ! Online is the worst!
I will never buy from them again ever!
May 23 8:30 am Online it says product # 4265130720030 . 4 in stock! I order 2 . Paid over 1000.00 for purchase and to be delivered to my home.
I Receive confirmation email. "We have received your order and preparing it at this time."
Bloody lie!
Check 1 week later on order says ; being processed.. remember item is in stock!
I check almost daily now.
June 7 still in progress?
Call customer service.. I do want to state everyone on the phone was very nice and tried to give some kind of help..the company told me: oh well it depends on if when you bought the items when someone else could of bought them just before you. So I say what? It tells me 4 in stock and I add 2 to cart and pay and someone buys 4 before me? Somethings not right!
I ask whem; will I receive my products ?
They say we can't access that info.
I say so when will I receive it?
They say I can't tell you when..
So I ask you can't tell me if it's 1 day or 1 month .. they say no..
They say there are 7 instock in Vaudreuil Quebec and 9 in Cornwall ont..
I said good I'll go pick them up today and I'll cancel this order after.
I ordered originally from Alexandria store so I call Canadian tire to see if my order is there first.
They tell me no they don't have the items. I asked why did it say instock then?
They tell me ; I don't know we never had this item in store..
Remember online said 4 instock.,
Now I get on the phone and call Vaudreuil that supposedly has 7 instock..
They say no we don't have those in stock!
I say Right at this moment I'm checking there site..now Online at this moment it says 7 in stock.
They say sorry we don't keep this item in stock it's an order..?
I call Cornwall with 9 instock! Guess what?
None! Never had them in stock!
End result; I and all of us as costumers are shown that they are just misleading and don't care about honesty and commitment.
They want you to pay and just wait for your things like good little sheep..No follow up, no helpful information, Bare minimum effort.. pay and wait like a good sucker you are!
Customer service couldn't help in anyway and only options offered to me is if I would like to cancel?
That's my rant.. sorry but true!
Never ever again!
Desired outcome: I want them to state the facts that they order from a 3 rd party and do not keep stock and I want them to give me my order!
Invoice # [protected] on June 2, 2021 at 6310 Yonge Street, North York ON
I took my 2010 Buick Lacrosse to that store at 2:05 pm on June 2 for coolant leakage and I waited for 6.5 hours (8:30 pm) before they replace the coolant hose. I am disputing two charges on my invoice. 1. I was informed that they had to get the hose from Newmarket and I was not informed that I have to pay for the delivery charge of $50. It is the first time...

Arrived at Pickering ON store for curbside. Instead of the "im here" button in the email I did what the sign in the lot said. Call the number and give the info. last 6 digits of order, pickup code, spot number. The lady said great your order is on its way. Over 56 minutes I saw several cars come and go, waiting no more than a few minutes. I decided to hit the "im here" and filled that out, then called the number on the sign again asking what the delay is. I got the excuse of it's busy. I said that's an invalid excuse because it did not affect any of th eother dozen customers I saw. I asked for the boss. Went through the same thing, same excuse, she actually tried the excuse twice, as if my rebuttal didn't mean anything. She said I only anounced my arrival 3 minutes earlier. I explained thatI did th ephone thing on the sign as directed, and why did they drop that job? She thinks that when I eventually get my order, everything is OK. So I said I don't want the order anymore. Someone needs to be fired.
Desired outcome: $100 for my lost hour, refund, firing of the person that dropped the job, firing of the manager.
Curb side pick
We placed a order on may 21 2021 and did not receive the pick up notice till may 27 2021. I am fine with that and the waiting I do understand bit what I dont understand is why 3 out of my 5 items got canceled because of item was not in stock but when we check Canadian tire website to look at these items we got 1 item has 9 left another has 11 and the last...

For the second time the use of the Okotok's Canadian Tire Car Wash has caused my Engine Light to start blinking halfway home. This causes my car to not run right. It limits my speed to under 100 KM/hr and causes my cruise control to be disabled. This happened May 25, 2021 after filling up at 11:15 am and getting car washed. The first time it happened was on January 19, 2021 and it cost me over $25.00 with tax to have the engine code read and get told there was no problem with my car. I have owned the same model of car (different years) for the last 8 years and this is the only time this has happened at any other car wash. It has not happened every time I have had my car washed here but this is the second time and shows there is something wrong with the operations of this car wash. Trans# 075554 CT#1964
Desired outcome: I would like to reimbursed for having my engine code checked and modifications made to the car wash so this does not do this to cars in the future.
Remove screw and fix tire.
Hi. To whom it mat concern
On Sat.22nd of May I discoverd a screw in my left front tire. I called the Canadian Tire located in Milton at 1210 steeles Ave E. I got an appointment for 12pm on the 23rd of May to have my tire fixed. I was told that it would take about 45 mins to get it fixed. Upon arrival at the Milton Canadian tire, the service personel told me that the job would take 1.5 to 2 hrs. I agreed and gave my cell number to be called when my vehicle was ready for pick up. I also gave instruction on where the tire, and wheel lock were located. It was a very long time to wait at Canadian tire, so I called my wife to pick me up.
Not long after (about 15min) I recieved a call back from the store saying that my tire was not repairable and that I would have to pick up my vehicle.
I wish that someone would have looked at my tire first to see if it could be fixed before I left the store. I also was not told why they couldnt fix my tire, I had to ask all the questions. This is poor customer service.
I headed back to Canadian tire to pick up my vehilce. I asked the service person if they had that size tire instock and he said that I would have to replace all four tires. When I asked him for a quote, without checking he told me that they didnt have the 20" size that I was looking for. Another service personal that was helping another customer said to him that they did have the size that I was looking for. At this point I felt that I was getting the run around ...frustrated I told them to forget it and left the store in discuss. I felt that I was beening brushed off because it was so busy there.
Where my tire was placed in the back of my truck, I noticed that the tire was not moved to be observed for the screw, you would have to physically turn the tire around to see it.
I was willing to buy four tires at Canadian tire but now I will buy them elsewhere...
Desired outcome: store credit for my time waisted and overall poor customer service
Unethical behavior and service
May 21, 2021, My husband and I were going to enter the store in Hinton Alberta and were stopped by a woman stating we couldn't go in without a mask. On March 4th 2021 I went to the Cambie Street Canadian tire for some goods. There was a several person line up at the parking meter. I am a disabled senior with urine retention issues and when I arrived at the store I was desperate to empty my bladder. The consequence of a failure to do that is simple. I wet myself. SO I opted to go directly to the washroom first and pay for my parking afterwards which I did. But in that moment impark had already ticketed my vehicle. I wrote to them explaining what had happened that I paid for my parking after I shopped instead of before due to circumstances beyond my control. The company have no compassion and being hell bent on collecting money have sent the matter to the collections department. I am clear that I will not pay this fee. I will stand before a judge in court confident that when this situation is reviewed by a humane person it will be seen that this is an unfair application of the parking rules. Yes I parked initially without paying but then I paid without parking and have the receipt to prove it. If this is how Canadian tire allows disabled seniors to be treated then its time to stop using Canadian tire.
Desired outcome: Human understanding and a waiving of the alleged violation notice.

Read full review of Canadian TireTorque wrench and ct policy re lifetime warranty
Dear Canadian Tire Decision-maker(s):
Many years ago I purchased a 'good quality' torque wrench from Canadian Tire's Rexdale Blvd. and Kipling Ave. location. I used the wrench for several years but it eventually became unusable. Returned the wrench to the same store and they replaced it no problem. The replacement wrench also broke after a few years* of use.
* I use a torque wrench very infrequently, usually 3 or 4 times a year to tighten lug nuts on auto rims. I know enough to not use a torque wrench to loosen lug nuts.
After relocating from Toronto I returned the defective wrench to the Canadian Tire store in Orangeville. On this occasion the store manager brought a replacement wrench to the Customer Service desk and wrote on the receipt I had presented that the guarantee for the wrench was now only good for one year. Hold on I say this item has a LIFETIME WARRANTY. The manager insisted that LIFETIME WARRANTY is no longer offered by Canadian Tire. I disagree and tell him so, no argument, no venting, no raised voice but I do let him know that I don't give up easily. Following my in-store discussion I telephone a CS number and speak with a lady who backs up what the Orangeville store Manager communicated. I ask is the LIFETIME WARRANTY only good for the life of the tool or is it my LIFETIME 'cause I'm still here. I give the lady a rundown on my LIFETIME WARRANTY battery purchased in Ontario of which I've had four, - never an argument about replacing it - last time was from the Canadian Tire store in Collingwood.
As stated earlier, I am not one to give up easily and more recently I shared my hard luck Torque wrench story by telephone with another CT CS rep who offered to forward a CT gift card to my attention in the amount of $40.00 and he announced that he would look into escalating my issue to someone higher on the CT food chain. Haven't heard from anyone as yet and it's been a couple of weeks.
I have remaining questions: is it really worth continually wasting CT rep's valuable time and the potential disruption that a pissed-off, retired, old guy can bring? What is the "official" CT stance on goods sold offering a LIFETIME WARRANTY? Would the failure to warranty the product in this case stand up in Court? In matters of this nature, who is the top decision-maker at CT? Who there ultimately has the final say? Does the fact that CT stores are now franchised have anything to do with the failure to honour a stated LIFETIME WARRANTY?
And, just so you know, at present I am still a CT customer and last week bought yet another torque wrench from the CT in Collingwood. If I get some measure of satisfaction from detailing my CT complaint, I could likely be counted on to continue shopping there; otherwise there's always Amazon, Peavey, Walmart, Princess Auto, Home Hardware, Home Depot, etc.
I would settle for the $40 incentive already offered and apparently on it's way and a further $100 deposited to my triangle account to cover the cost of the DeWalt torque wrench I purchased last week. If no favourable outcome to my complaint is received within the next month, I will continue to share my story using all means available to me via the internet and person-to-person discussion with acquaintances. It's said that word of mouth is the best advertising. Does that mean negative word of mouth is the worst? Probably. Your move CT.
Respectively,
Al Love

Store Service and Product Availability
Was at your Calgary store on 162nd and McLeod. Needed to buy a cargo carrier for cars. Required a trailer hitch assembly and installation.
Parts person was exceptional in showing me a CCM basket. He then looked up the hitch assembly but found he could not order the part. Advised me to go to Service to order it and arrange installation. Service advised they don't do that and can't install it - aftermarket product.
Service Manager very dismissive of me. Asked to speak to Store Manager. He advised me that ‘ go head and get him if you can find him'. How dismissive! Went to Customer Care. Advised he is out for coffee. No other suggestions for help. Care employee said ‘he can have a coffee'. What a rude, ignorant and unhelpful comment. I am frustrated by nobody around who can help and she says that. Another manager came over but he was of no assistance.
Why would you sell something without the obvious part it needs? Like buying a care but without tires. Why would you not install the carrier if you sell it!
Horrible service and attitude in that store except for Parts person.
Occurred 4/27 (today) between 9:30 am and 10:00 am

Customer Service Complaint - TIMMINS, ONTARIO
Date of Incident:
Wednesday March 31, 2021 at approx. 12pm.
My friend and I were checking out at the register with an older East Indian Woman. Soon as she saw us she started giving us attitude. When my friend showed her his status card she started giving him heck about his expiry date. Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) has extended the validity date of status cards until further notice. She said "NO thats a lie and you need to go to band office like everyone else" he said "No its not open back home!" she ended up taking it anyways so they completed the sale. He left to the vehicle. It was my turn to check out. I said "here you go -- here's my status not sure if you take it in the beginning or at the end". She looks at me, takes deep breath and says "Really? how many times do you use this card and don't know!" I said "I honestly don't remember cause I haven't been shopping in a while" she sighs and says "really? when's the last time you shopped? I said "I don't know maybe in December as I am not from Timmins!" she seemed very upset - i don't know what I did to her but she treated me very badly. She was just a bad apple.
Desired outcome: Cultural and Customer Training
