I placed an order for our families Thanksgiving meal by phone with your store in League City, TX on 11-14-23. We were expecting 12 individuals for dinner on Thanksgiving day.
The order was scheduled to be picked up at 10:15am the morning of Thursday 11/23/23.
I called the store on several different occasions to inquire about receiving a confirmation. First time I called I was told we would receive a confirmation via text message. After several hours we had not received the confirmation. I called again and was told to provide my email address and an email confirmation would be sent, Later that day I received an email Quote # [protected]. I called again to find out how to pay for the order and was told an email would be sent with a "link" to pay. I received the email link however, it was only good for 30 minutes and the link had expired.
I called in again and was told I couldn't pay for it over the phone I had to pay at the counter when we came to pick up our order.
I was concerned about getting my order when it was scheduled so my husband and I went and had dinner at cracker barrel the night before and tried then to pay for my order. The manager on duty said not to worry, you'll have to pay for it at pick up and the workers would have IPADs to process the payment.
The next morning 11/23/23 we arrived at 7:00am to pick up our dinner and we were the first in line. After waiting for at least 30 minutes we were told our order had been cancelled and were given no reason for the cancellation, just that they had run out of food.
It was now 8:00am on Thanksgiving morning and I had 12 people coming to my house for dinner at 2:00pm!
After many phone calls to local grocery stores and restaurants I was able to locate a small thawed turkey that I picked up and proceeded to cook, and thanks to Luby's restaurant was able to purchase some additional turkey and sides.
This whole fiasco was quite disappointing and I was very surprised at Cracker Barrel for over-booking their orders. The whole process was very mis-managed
Claimed loss: Very disappointed in the mis-management at Cracker Barrel with the order for our family's Thanksgiving Dinner
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response as to what happened and why it was so mis-managed, and maybe even a gift card to make up for it.
