failed to receive a refund on our cancelled reservation
Traveling to Texas we planned on stopping at Slidell Louisiana at a La Quinta close to I-10. We called ahead for a reservation and Getaroom was paid for the reservation for the night. When we got to the hotel the reservation was not what we asked for so the person in charge said he would cancel and make a new one and we would get our money back for the cancellation in about 48 hours. We have never gotten it back and was told that Getaroom was responsible for the refund. I have a booking number of [protected]. Please take care of this.-Thank you

Deceptive and possibly fraudulent website.
Similar to other complaints, I did an online search for a specific hotel where I needed to reserve a room. The search produced a site in the format http::/hotelname.reservations.com . The website simulated the look and feel of the hotel where I wanted to book a room, the price seemed reasonable, so I booked a room. My credit card was billed for the full amount of the room charge ($73.84) plus a service charge of $44.95. The taxes in this instance would be $6.65. That means a service charge of 38.30, or almost 52%! That is not just excessive, that is outrageous.
I canceled my reservation within 15 minutes of making the reservation and rebooked directly with the hotel for $75.26 TAXES INCLUDED.
The reservation confirmation number is R2019718328, dated June 28/2020 @ 11:17 AM, and the cancellation made on June 28/2020 @ 11:31 AM. I received emails for both. I waited for 2 weeks to allow a refund to process, and then called today. After being put on hold for about 10 minutes by Nellie, a very polite woman, I was told that the service provider is refusing to offer any refund. I am looking for a full refund, or at the very least the cost of the room & tax which they are not paying for.
Fees charged for a reservation
I recently made a reservation for July 10, 2020 in san Francisco at hotelpineapple. At the time of the reservation, I wanted to know if there were rooms that had 2 beds in them at this hotel so I called the 800 # on the hotelpineapple ad on line. I did not know that this wasn't a hotel. it actually came up later as "Reservation Counter". I was charged $10 for MAKING the reservation and then, due to covid, my employer is not letting me go to San Francisco, and I called to cancel the reservation, and I am now being charged $25 per room (had to make a 2 room reservation as my son is in the Marines and he was going to meet me there). So, this whole experience left me $60 more in debt and I am not even going anywhere.
I contacted the hotelpineappple today and they say that my reservation was made under GETAWAY which has had numerous such complaints filed agains them. If I had made my reservation directly with the hotel, they say there would have been no charges, etc...
I think this is terrible, especially given the covid pandemic. We are all trying to be careful and safe. I should not be penalized for that.

The above is my reservation. When I called to question your extra charges I was told I need to call on June 21st to cancel. I booked the property on June 22nd.
Your employee offered a 5% discount. Afterwards it was moved up to 10%. After that 15% was offered. You obviously know you are wrong in your business practices. I have never experienced anything like this in my life.
Please cancel and provide a full refund.

I went online to book a room for the days hotel toms river new jersey for a wedding I typed the hotel name and was fortunately sent to get a room website I made my reservation thinking I was dealing with the hotel directly. Upon my payment being processed a new amount appeared that was charged to my credit card and all of a sudden get a room made their presence known by the $200 plus an extra fees and three to four pages of rules and regulations.
I called customer service and was placed on hold as they try to contact the hotel only to be told there was no answer at the hotel I had advised the agent that the hotel was closed due to covid-19 and they had to use the email address provided by the hotel I was informed by allcustomer care agents that it was up to the hotel to cancel and get a room with then issue a refund this went on for several calls to customer service
I made contact with the corporate hotel company and was advised that the reservation was canceled and they did not bill get a room and to contact them for a refund again I contacted customer service and get a room I sent in documentation from the hotel and still no refund

Larson false charges overriding hotel website
I went to choice hotels to book a room. I was charged $107 dollars to my debt card. I went to the hotel. The comfort inn 1407 iliff ave aurora colo. In February 2020 made hotel reservation with what I thought was President Abraham Lincoln hotel for 5/28-5/30 2020 for a convention. Because of covid 19 convention was canceled and Michigan still has a travel band and the hotel is closed till 6/1 and needed to cancel. R1689345464, on line ticket number #3821377. I had already called Hilton they said I had talk to getaroom, finally was able to get thru they first told me they were trying to get a hold of the hotel kept me on hold finally told me to call back in another hour or so. I did that and that person told me to check back 2 weeks. Complete run around. Hope I'm not out $309.81.

As a hotel general manager for hilton I work with several online hotel booking websites to accommodate our guests. I had a guest check in for his first night in april 2020 and the credit card provided to our hotel via getaroom.com declined after the guest already paid getaroom.com for his first night. I have called nearly ten times to getaroom.com customer support center and have been lied to even by supervisors that "try the card again in 24 hours maybe it will go through" and nearly a month later they still have not paid us and I get the run around every time I called in, speaking of which I am on hold now trying to get yet another person on the phone. Been waiting almost half an hour.

I googled the Doubletree Atlanta Northlake and ended up calling a number I thought was the hotel. I asked if this was the hotel and was told it was their reservation desk. I booked a room and had the transaction complete before a couple of red flags went off. First, they weren't interested in my Hilton Honors Diamond status and they didn't already have my card on file. I assumed it was an inexperienced person and when they said my card would be charged up front I assumed it was a new business practice due to the COVID issues. I have never dealt with this before but I won't fall for it again.

Returning reservation money for covid virus cancellation
Reservations were made through the website, answered by phone as Postcard Inn, St. Perersburg, Fla. those reservations were made for May18, 2020 with checkout on May 21, 2020. Due to the cancellation of the Event at the hotel and the fact that all travel was stopped by the President of the United States and the Governors of each state, I have been told by Postcard Inn that You are supposed to refund my reservation money because You made the reservation & you have my money to be returned! My confirmation # was R1866370341 and my cancellation # is C1943188478 made on April 13, 2020. You deceived me from the very beginning with me thinking I was making reservations with Postcard Inn. It has been over 2 weeks since you were contacted by the hotel to refund my money. I have called & called & I get absolutely no responce from you. get a room .com is a scam
My experience mirrors everyone else's here, I booked a room in which I thought was directly with the hotel only to find out later when I had to cancel that it through get a room in which they purposely deceived me into booking with them AND jacked the price up. If it wasn't for the pandemic situation, I would have never received a dime back. Took an act of god to get a refund after bashing them on reviews. I got my refund but the fact that they deceive you and try to steal your hard earned cash is disgusting and I've made it a mission to spread this information far and wide. I've filed a complaint with the BBB as everyone else should. The sooner this place is out of business the better!
I made a reservation at the Embassy Suites Albuquerque NM. GETAROOM.COM (OWNER -(DAVID lITMAN) had to cancel my reservation the following day. The GETAROOM rep on phone stated that they could not return both our reservations to visit our daughter in Colorado. The total amount for both rooms was, $318.25. I had to threaten to call my bank and stop wire of funds to get a response from GETAROOM rep. This company is a scam, The Embassy had no record of any rooms for us. Needless to say as an elderly person living on a fixed income, this response really pissed me off. I will file a written complaint with the BBB and too US Attorneys office in Dallas the home office of GETAROOM.COM..
hotel cancellation
On 3/23 I cancelled a hotel reservation online that was originally booked through hotelvalues.com for a 4/3-4/5 stay. My cancellation was due to the stay at home order during the coronavirus pandemic.
I received a cancellation confirmation #r1901293166, but it showed no refund. I immediately called and was told that "a ticket was being opened and that they'd work with the hotel for refund approval".
I have access to the online ticket #3693184 and have input comments/update requests 5 times since 3/23 but no one is responding.
Please honor the full refund.

Misleading advertising and high fees charged once credit card is used
I googled the Hampton Inn in Easton. I thought I was on their website booking a reservation so I could use my points. After completing the booking I received a receipt from a third party company with high fees attached to the bill. My stay was for a total of 358.00. When I received the bill from the third party, it was 483.74. When we arrived at the hotel we were charged 357.00more dollars because we were told the company never paid them nor did they submit the credit card informatio n.
I googled Hampton Inn in Easton, PA. A website popped up as Hampton Inn Easton for booking reservations. I booked thinking this was the Hamoton Inn, so I could use my points. Well after I booked and used my credit card, they was a confirmation email coming from someone regarding my reservation. The original price of the room was for 358.00. When I received the confirmation an extra 149.00 was added to my bill. The original booked bill was that 334.00 plus 24.00 tax, totalling 358.00. After the credit went through I received a bill for 483. Also when we got to the hotel we were charged 357.76 because we were told that the hotel never got paid for the reservation.

These guys gave me the same BS excuse over and over, I feel your pain. They insist that there is no deception on their part and blame us, the customer for not paying attention.
They promised a refund due to the Coronavirus emergency
I made a reservation # R1875446020 which I cancelled due to the travel restrictions on Coronavirus. Though the original booking was in the non-refundable rate, their customer service agents told me on two different calls on 3/14 and 3/17 that the reservation would be refunded within 3 days. It was not.
I also sent requests to cancel through an email link in my original booking confirmation to their Customer Care and Escalations Zendesk site on 3/14, 3/17 and 3/21 and received a ticket number 3653589, but no follow up from the company.
When I originally booked, I thought I was on the hotel website - it was deceptively created to look like I was booking directly with the hotel, which was my intention. The booking email confirmation came from [protected]@hotelvalues.com, and when I searched it, the site can't be reached. There is an effort to hide the fact that you have booked with Getaroom. The only way to know is by looking at your credit card statement to see where the charge comes from. I would like to hear back from the company and receive the refund as promised.

hotel room hampton inn pensacola beach
I called the number that came up for the Hampton Inn Pensacola beach. I state our room request and he quotes $138 per night. I told him I can do better, He replied he can lower the price and quotes $107 per night for Gulf View room prepaid. I agree. He, with a heavy accent rattles off the details. When I get the confirmation, the charge is for $107 per night plus $84.00 for "tax recovery and service fee. I call them back to complain and they offer to refund $21.00 of the service fee or I can cancel for a $149.00 cancellation fee. I have accepted the $21.00 refund but I am still furious over this transaction. I had to call back twice to get a confirmation sent to my email. THEN - the confirmation finally arrives and the room is an inland room NOT a gulf view room as promised.
I will be speaking to the Hampton Inn corporate representative regarding how I feel that they are letting this kind of firm represent them.

I called customer care and convinced them to cancel the reservation at no penalty cost to me since they did not book a room that met my request even though the agent reassured me it was a gulf view room.. They finally did so. They told me it would take 3 to 5 days for the refund to appear on my credit card.
I firmly believe that placing the link Hamptoninn.guestreservations.com is deceptive advertising and will be alerting Hilton corporation to this practice. When I clicked on that link I was connected to an organization that was not Hampton in/Hilton corporation.
I booked the room directly with Hampton Inn, got my Gulf view room with a balcony for $106/per night. $227 total after taxes is pretty different from an inland view room for $299.

Terrible service and they robber your money. They show a Fee of €95, 61 but when you pay Charges & Service Fees €326, 82. I want the difference back!
And also, I call in less 24hours with a netter price I founded for the same hotel and they dont care about it. Just ignore. The attendets dont listen you.
Also used the customer care and escalation support but no one solve. They proposed to give me back 10%, good, but I can not wait for 5 months.

Avoid getaroom.com and agoda.com (they're the same company).
"free cancelation" is only for cancellations. They will not modify bookings for any reason at any time, but they conveniently neglect to tell you that at time of booking. They reluctantly put me on hold when I requested a supervisor confirm this information. No one ever came back.
They make money by misleading customers. It's an unecessary and short-sighted policy. I guess they have so much business they don't care about losing a few thousand of us who won't tolerate their service level.

poor customer service
I went to book a room. I thought I was on the Hampton website and it was through book a room which I did not know till after the fact when I seen all the money out of my account. They charged my account right away with no cancellation policy, when I called and told them this they argued with me and would not cancel my reservation. Online it says free cancellation, but all he kept saying was "What does you reservation say?" I told him on the website it said free cancellation. He would not listen to me and would not transfer me to a manager. I am so disgusted with the booking site.
