Can't leave a zero star review
I believe it was in December 2023 I found my debit card was locked. I called customer service and was told the representative could unlock the card or I could log on to the portal and do it myself. I thought that ws a little strange at the time, but I trusted that the customer service rep knew what she was talking about.
Fast forward a couple weeks and the wife and I are in Las Vegas for a business/pleasure trip. I had a large balance in the Go2 Bank account at the time and decided to use the card for most purchases and to do the business I needed to do. I found, after getting to Vegas, that the card was still locked and was told by another customer service rep that the card would need to be replaced and could not be used or unlocked. Enter panick mode. My trip was ruined and I ended up losing quite a bit of money on the business deal.
I called today, 3-4-24, to close the account. I chose to wait a bit to close it. The customer service reps and the supervisor I spoke to had zero people skills. Terrible customer service. No empathy or compassion at all. They could have cared less about my issue. Plus, their grasp of the English language was very poor. The supervisor expected me to read my account number off while driving down the road and threatened to disconnect the call if I wasn't able to jump and bow down to her wishes. I asked if she was at all concerned about my safety as I was driving and would pull over as soon as I could. She stated she wasn't concerned and that she needed my account number "NOW" or she would disconnect the call.
Be very cautious with this outfit. They will gladly take your money but will offer no support or have the common decency to be human beings while dealing with the customer on the phone. Absolutely awful, terrible, horrible experience.
Recommendation: Be cautious if you decide to deal with this company.
Worst “Bank” Ever
Had GoBank for years. No issues. Was forced to go to GO2Bank and GoBank transferred everything to GO2Bank. I had already had a GO2Bank account so now I have two. I used the add money via debit card to one of my GO2Bank accounts to the other. Because a debit card is a debit card right? Wrong! GO2Bank can not send money they can only receive money is what Arriane Kaye told me when I was on the phone and the online chat told me it was a “system error “ so now I have $200+ missing and it will take 10 days to return to my account. I’m glad they think bills can wait. I have been on hold for over an hour to speak to a manager because I have done this before and it worked but now magically it doesn’t because as I was told GO2Bank only receives money, they can’t send it. But yet GoBank had a pay your friends feature which worked great so why was I forced to go to GO2Bank when it doesn’t even have the same things as GoBank?!? I can tell you this all my direct deposits and being moved and I’m closing all GO2Bank accounts after I get my money back. Here a Christmas with two kids and bills, I can’t afford “system errors” when I’ve had no problem before.
REGRET
I have never written a review for an app before but my experience has been so horrible with this I had to! I have been troubling getting mail where I am so I picked one of these up at the store so I could pay some things online. They said I should be able to activate it about 25 minutes later. I got home 2 hours later and then wasted nearly 3 hours trying to get it activated and as I write this it’s still not activated. First I tried the app several times. Got to the last stage where it asks for text confirmation code, entered code, only for it to refresh and then tell me it couldn’t complete the request. Tried again a few more times. Went to the website to try, same things multiple times. Called Customer Service who connected me to an activation line which took some of my info then proceeded to tell me my phone number was not a valid US phone number (it is, I got all the other texts before and it is most definitely a US #) and then hang up on me. Called them again, spoke to someone else. They said I’ll give you the number to call to activate. I called… took me right back to the line that just hung up on me. Called again, and now I have to wait a full 24 hours before I can request another text confirmation and try again. Massive waste of my time and I REGRET purchasing this.
Save yourself a TON of grief
The absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life I’ve ever having to deal with. If I had to give her verbal review I would say poor at best. I’ve had nothing but issue after issue you try to do it online chat with an agent he put all this effort into explaining over and over again what you need to get to the point where they say they’re finally going to help you and then they suddenly in the chat without you even being aware it’s going to happen and nothing gets fixed only for you to go back in and start another chat and have the same thing happen over and over again. When you call the phone number you get people on the line that can barely speak English you repeat yourself no less than six times what The issue is for them to either say they have placed a ticket to have it fixed so they can’t help you that their hands are tied and there’s no supervisor available to take your call or they say they’re going to transfer you to a supervisor only for you to sit on hold for over 30 minutes or longer and for the call to suddenly drop and when you call back you find out there is no supervisor available for you to be transferred to in the first place and that they cannot help you. When you call the one 800 number you’ll be waiting on hold often For 20 minutes or more after the automated message says you are next in line and it should be only one or two minute wait often times you don’t even make it to representative your call drops out for you waited over 20 minutes. I would not recommend this mobile banking app to my worst enemy.
They are liars! Scam!
This company says they will give you overdraft protection if you get 2 deposits ($200 being the most with two $400 direct deposits), and then you can opt in on them. I have had over $450 direct deposited every week for nearly 6 months now. There is no option at all, even though they keep saying there is. I tried the chat support and they just disconnect me every-time I try to find out why I can not and am not signed up for it. At first they respond and once they find out why I’m contacting them, they disconnect the conversation by logging me out of my account. I decided in case it’s my connection, to call them. When I got someone to pick up the phone, 45 min later, the Representative keep saying over and over again that I needed to wait another billing cycle. Every time I would tell her that I’ve been trying for 5 billing cycles, she just said it again. She would also include that I did too many transactions of over draft so that is why I need to wait. How could I do too many when I don’t even have over draft yet? This company is a scam. They pretend like they have services they do NOT have, so they can charge you money every month to leave your account open. Such a joke. And I’m reality, they are thieves. Make account holders pay for their product and services, that they don’t even actually have. Don’t be fooled. You will be disappointed and they will try to respond to this review probably even, acting like I should call the support in the “help” section of the app to have this problem resolved, just like everyone else’s reviews. Which I’ve already done and gotten nothing. SCAMMERS!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED! Was Given a $20 fee for absolutely no reason ! I had made my minimum monthly credit card payment when it was due, then after it had credited was somehow showing I was $1.81 over my credit limit !, which I have no clue how because I just made my payment. Even though I was bewildered ,I went in there anyway to make a payment to get it under the limit . They tried to take $95 out of my account which is not what I had input into the system ! It gave me an RIDICULOUS FEE of $20 ! That the man I barely understood and vice versa said they absolutely couldnt take off! the only explanation I would get when asking was “ its policy ,ma’am!” both of my accounts will be shut down at the end of the billing cycle when my credit card is paid off and I will bank only with Chime where my direct deposit has been moved ! Their credit builder account is far better than this anyway and their customer service is phenomenal; unlike this bank ! don’t walk, run away from these people! A complete and utter joke of a bank and customer service ! they’re always slapping fees to you ! Chime will let you overdraft up to $200 with no fee!

Worst bank and customer service. Ever
I have been jumping through hoops for THREE WEEKS now trying to get the bonus I was promised for signing up with them. Every time it is “we need this…” or “please verify that…” and I have done everything they have asked until I said enough is enough, either do as you have promised or don’t and close my account. I was supposed to get said bonus within 48 hours per their own terms and conditions and I have now wasted hours of my time trying to get this sorted out. Worst. Bank. And. Customer. Service. EVER. Update: still haven’t received my bonus. Thanks for the response, but I am well aware of the terms and conditions. It has already been confirmed that I qualify. But for some reason they keep shoving me around and demanding I provide more info or wait another 24-48 hours. Someone was supposed to call me back today…how much you wanna bet they won’t? I was literally in tears the other night by the time I spoke to the last person I talked to. Just terrible that a company would EVER make a customer of theirs fee THAT frustrated and mistreated by them. Update: still haven’t received my bonus. BUT my call gets escalated every time. About 3 times a week. Surely, something would happen after that much escalation? You would think anyhow…. Update: still nothing. Someone was supposed to call me today and update me. Never did. This bonus was, again supposed to be deposited within 48hrs of completing the conditions. That was at least a month ago. I have been told that this would be resolved within 24-48 hours at least 5 times with at least 48 hours in between. It has been confirmed multiple times I qualify and have met their conditions still nothing. Guess I will update again after I call (again) tomorrow. Another update, the “developer” keeps responding with the same scripted response. I already received my email. I also already spoke to your so-called “customer service” and am now dealing with your corporate resolution people. Nobody has come up with a resolution yet. So, in another 48 guess I get to call again.
Update: it is now late Monday night early Tuesday, still haven’t heard from anyone and didn’t have a chance to call yesterday. But you had better believe I am calling today. I qualified for my bonus on October 27th and STILL have not received it nor been given any further info. This is unacceptable.
Detailed customer experience
Here’s my most recent experience with a dispute using GO2Bank (it can’t get much worse). My complaint of Go2Bank (operated by Green Dot Bank): A gaming vendor in New Jersey ran unauthorized transactions amounting to over 7,000 in mid-March 2022. I contacted the vendor over 10 times and through various channels for a refund and did not receive a response. I then contacted the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement, at which time the gaming vendor finally responded to me and agreed to issue a refund. That vendor issued a partial refund and then immediately followed up by sending outstanding debt invoices for what was supposed to be refunded to me (i.e. breaking the agreement). The disputed transactions have a date range of March 16 through March 19, 2022. I originally raised a dispute with Go2Bank when this took place, and then withdrew the dispute once the vendor responded. After the outstanding debt invoices were issued to me, I re-initiated the dispute on May 10, 2022. Go2Bank requires written documentation of the disputed transactions in order to be eligible for a provisional credit under Regulation E. I mailed the documentation to Go2Bank and received confirmation from USPS that it was delivered to Go2Bank's PO box on May 20, 2022. I then called Go2Bank two times on Friday, May 20, 2022. The first representative I spoke to said that because the disputed transactions "were within 30 days of the initial deposit on the account, the provisional credit would take 20 business days." Well, the original deposit was February 13 and the disputed transactions are dated March 16 so this is not accurate. I argued endlessly with this representative that I did not dispute any transactions with this vendor that are dated prior to March 16. Thus Go2Bank, in an effort to not have to give the provisional credit, decided to include additional prior transactions with this vendor that I did not want to dispute. The second time I called, the new representative assured me that it would be within 10 business days and apologized for the misinformation of the previous representative. Since I raised the disputes on May 10, 2022, she confirmed that the provisional credit should be applied by May 23, 2022 (i.e. today). This morning I called Go2Bank and was hung up on multiple times. After my third attempt of calling, I spoke with a representative who said that "since you disputed transactions beginning March 9 (i.e. within 30 days of the original deposit) it will take 20 business days to receive the provisional credit." Again, I explained to her that I never at any time authorized them to dispute transactions with this vendor dated prior to March 16, 2022. She said she would make a note in my file for the investigation team, but in that case it would still not be provisionally credited today because today is only the 9th business day (this is not correct, May 10 through May 23 is 10 business days). She also said that my letter was not received so I gave her the USPS tracking information and said that it shows it was delivered 3 days ago. I double checked the address and everything to make sure I hadn't made an error. So my complaint is that Go2Bank has engaged in every tactic possible to avoid the provisional credit under Regulation E. They added new transactions to the dispute case without my permission to fall within the 30 day timeframe between original deposit -> first disputed transaction, they purposefully miscounted the 10 business days timeframe of Regulation E, they told me my letter hadn't been received. All of these things are verifiably incorrect and egregious. I filed formal complaints with the Fed Reserve, CFPB, FDIC and ComplaintsBoard.com. I then sent copies of those complaints to GO2Bank - still no action. Update: the developer has responded below asking me to provide additional details/documentation to get this resolved. This is an effort to save face - every day I have been reforwarding the documentation to them and asking for help and they just brush it off every time.

I made a charge to google play. I get a text that there was a charge for a different $ amount. I miss understood and replied to text that I didn't make the charge. I now realize what happened. I thought I would be able to clear it up with a simple call to the fraud department. Apparently that is not the case as I was transferred back and forth 6 times. The dropped into silence with no rep there. I called back again was transferred 3 more times. The last guy didn't even place me on hold and I could here him call one department that was closed then told me he was transferring me to my bank and dumped me right back in to the original support # prompts. No one will help me. At this point I find it hard to belief this level of incompetence is real and they are making a game of it.

I've tried for 3 weeks now to resolve an issue where I go to log into my account, it tells me to enter a confirmation number it claims that has been sent to my email, but the automated email never shows up. A customer support member sent my address the "Case ID" number ([protected]) which proves my email account is working and I can get emails. I can emails to that account every day, all day.
Each time I've called, I've been told that a customer technical support member will call me back in 24 hours, or 48 hours, and no one calls. This has happened about 5 times now. Once time someone did call, but I answered within 2 rings and they hung up as soon as I answered.
I have a balance I need to pay on my credit card and I've been told that the only way to do that is online, with the account I can't access, and Go2Bank will not provide a solution to the problem.
Desired outcome: To be able to simply access my account and stop being lied to.
Date and time: Constant for the past 3 weeks.
I try to access my account online and after I enter my user name and password, it asks for a confirmation number that is claimed to have been sent to my email. That confirmation never shows up in my email.
I've called customer service about 8 times over the past 3 weeks trying to get a resolution, and I'm told over and over that a technical support representative will investigate the matter and call me within 24-48 hours. That call never comes. One time I did get a call, answered it within 2 rings, and the person on the other end hung up as soon as I answered.
I get email everyday on that account, and a customer service representative sent me a Case ID number to that account ([protected]) which proves that the email is valid, working, and I have access to it.
I have a credit payment due, but I am told the only way to pay is online with the account I can not access and no one at Go2Bank will help me access. There is no other way to contact Go2Bank other than the customer service number and no one at that number can fix the problem or give me the telephone number of someone who can, and lies to me telling me someone will call me.

On or about Sept 3d, I noticed debits to my account that I did not make. There are debits to TXVRFY, Applecom.bill, my Gift card supply. These debits in total ar somewhere north of $220.00. As a result I have not been able to pay my rent in full or any other bills. When I spoke to your representative I was told my card would be frozen and a new one issued. That has not happened. I need these to be resolved ASAP bcs we live on a fixed income. This is going to make October even more difficult for us. I do not know why you processed and approved any of these bcs they are clearly not mine...there are 27 transactions all with different names...why did this not cause a fraud warning. Authorization holds never returned, discourteous service
When I 1st signed up with GO2 bank, they were prompt and courteous and despite the lack of more convenient banking, I was satisfied with their service. But now that they're acquired much capital, their customer service has been rude, condescending, and inept. But the main problem is that I've lost at least $200 in authorization hold that were never released...
