Infrared saunas and steam rooms never works. Manager said that they are fixing it. It was broken for many months. We are paying monthly while their amenities are not working. All are false advertisement. They even claimed all their equipments are state of the art. Everything is old and dirty. The monthly fee is way more expensive compare to other big gym facilities and they should give us more for what we are paying including the amenities. They are not resolving these problems and someone needs to do something and talk to them.
unprofessional staff behaviour
Dear Team,
I have enjoyed membership of Golds Gym for around 15months or so now. Been an elite person, I opted for Golds only because of its High standards and goodwill in the market. And for the same reason, I recommended it to many near ones.
However, I would like to draw your attention to several negative features that have crept into Spinning Class over a period of time.
Firstly, the Spinning class was held in morning as well as in evening. However due to unprofessional behaviour of trainer, he use to cancel morning batches multiple times without even informing us. The situation was very obnoxious for many members since we manage our gym and office routine accordingly. Additionally the trainer is very haughty in nature, due to which many members have complained against him. Some of them don't even turn up for Spinning class stating they don't like trainers behaviour towards them as he hardly teaches anything and doesn't even pay attention.
Due to such boor behaviour of trainer, I guess he had even resigned and was serving his notice period.
We were waiting for new trainer to come as Spinning classes were not conducted for some weeks. However, to our obnoxiousness, he was retained due to non-availability of any other trainer and started only with one batch in evening. The class is conducted in 8-9pm and that batch has few members who are with the trainer since 2-3years. Due to the high duration, the trainer have maintained very good repo with those members and have appease settlement with them. He doesn't like if any new member enters his so called friend-elite group batch ( 8-9pm) and so doesn't allow any member to do spinning stating that he/she is novice and exacerbate it.
Since a week I am doing Spinning in evening batch. The trainer stated I shan't be doing it as I don't know the variations and just do push-ups.
My question is -
I was doing spinning from last 6months in morning batch, why did he allow me to go ahead all this while ?
Even if a agree on his statement that I don't know variations, isn't it his job to teach me rather than stopping me to do so.
If according to him, we don't even know basics, What did he teach in last 6months to morning batch people ?
Is the Trainer efficient enough if he can't train members in 6months?
Just because of his unilateral decision, he has rights to insult any member in front of entire class?
And Golds gym will not take any actions just because few members wants the same trainer.

unethical business behaviour
In 2015 I decide to open a member ship at Gold's gym in Watsonville, CA 95076. The member ship was a month to month with an enrollment fee. I tried the member ship for a few months with the account paid in full. I felt the gym was very segregated placing men in one room and women in another and was not up to sanitary standards. I paid $20.00 to place my member ship on hold guaranteed that if I didn't show up that it would automatically be closed. I left the attendant and the owner a email; never received a message and was sent to the collector. Please help me resolve and better my experience.
manager / policy
I finally got my membership cancelled at golds.
😁 4 memberships, including mine, were canceled on sunday by the aiken, sc gym manager, larry nelson. Short story. Visit the aiken sc golds with all your other friends that can't escape the membership trap when larry nelson is working, two of you drop a weight on the floor and memberships cancelled. My husband and 3 of his friends were working with weights. Background - these 3 guys work out multiple times a week at 3 area golds for 10+ years. All over 35, all working professionals in upper management positions.
One was working on a shoulder injury and started losing control of his lift which caused him to drop the weights at about 6 to 8 inches from the floor. A man approached, telling them that they have caused the bubbles in the floor. (floors have severe bubbling - have for years. Anyone familiar with this location knows maintenance of building and equipment is not a priority.) the same man sat a few feet away and watched them continue with the weights. When my husband let his weights go about 4 inch from the floor, the man asked the three of them to leave. The 3rd man didn't do or say a thing. He insinuated that they were not as strong as they think. Both men were working to rebuild muscle in injured areas. My husband told him to leave. The man continued to insist they leave. My husband went to the front desk to complain, the man followed. My husband asked for his name. The man said you are not a paying customer, I don't have to tell you anything. My husband did violate the language rule at th his point when he said I don't know who the #$#@ you are. We ended up finding out from the front desk that this guy was the manager, larry hudson but would not allow the woman at the desk to give out his card. This manager never identified himself verbally or wore anything that distinguished him from anybody else in the gym. It wasn't until after this man canceled all the memberships that they realized he really could do that. They thought they were dealing with a weird customer. Anyway, I have been a forced to pay member so my husband could keep his. They simply wouldn't cancel his or mine. He wanted to continue so he kept paying for both. We went to the regional manager over two of the three locations they frequent and were told we could continue at the north augusta gym. Really... The actions were bad enough to be banned from one location but not all? Needless to say that we are just beginning and will use each and every avenue to let current and potential members know not only that aiken is ruled by a control freak with zero professionalism but to also let you know that at the regional managers, even after admitting that the manager handled the situation improperly, could not override his decision for that location. Game on gold's.
It also helps if the two who drops the weights have much darker skin tones because Larry likes to refer to them as"you boys" and "your kind". The only white man in the group was one who dropped the weights from the highest point and was the only one Larry was willing to reinstate his membership. The two black men, one of which dropped nothing and said nothing, were told they could not return to the Aiken gym at this time but that may change if some other things change there.
Correction- the manager in this situation was Larry Nelson, not Hudson.
transfer of membership
These people are cheats. I am constantly calling Gold' gym branch in Kanpur Mall Road but they are not responding. They are a branch of non professional people who manipulated things and their services to lure people. First they cheated with transfer of 6 months membership saying that it could be transferred then told we have manage to transfer it then through mail told me that it isn't possible then when I asked about annual membership transfer then they are not responding.
The bigger the name, more the careless approach
gym in biddulph plaza cleveland ohio
Hello, My name is Melissa Reusch. I signed up for a membership in January. Upon signing up I was very inquisitive about the different policies and the policies that were in fine print as well. The young man who signed me up told me all the "perks" there were to having a membership. I attended the gym for a month before things in my life took a turn for the worse. I called and asked what I needed to do in order to cancel my membership, I was told just to cancel two days prior to the next billing date. So, I did that. I sent a email to the director of the Biddulph Plaza Gold Gym Mr. Cason. I submitted the request to cancel my membership on February 17, 2018. It wasn't until I was charged another month that I realized they never canceled my membership. So I called the gym once again and asked to speak to the director. After a ten minute wait on the phone he apologized and stated that he would take care of it. Me thinking the membership was cancelled didn't think anything of it, until I was charged an additional $64.00! SO once again I wrote an email explaining myself, even called. I was told this issue would be resolved and the money would be credited back, on top of all that I found out I was being over charged by $5.00 every month. It has been over two months since I have heard anything from this Mr. Cason. I have written follow up emails and get no reply. This is terrible customer service. I was unaware that when I signed up I was signing up for a three month membership. Like I said I asked the young man about all the fine print details and never once was that explained. If it was I wouldn't be going through this issue. My mother is not doing well, I was forced to move back to South Carolina. Per Mr. Cason, I was able to get a cancelled membership due to relocation, but I am still receiving emails and messages about my fees not being met for the month. The money that was taken out was money I needed in order to get back to SC, I literally had to borrow money from my father and told him I would pay him back as soon as the money was credited to my account. According to Mr. Cason this issue would have been resolved within two weeks. Never once has he reached out to me either by phone or email. He has only responded to two of my emails. I think this is poor service and don't appreciate it. I was promised my cancellation on my membership and my money back. Apparently not one promise has been fulfilled. My next step is to contact the BBB. Please contact me either via email or phone, so I can get this issue resolved and my money back. [protected] or [protected]@gmail.com

I am complaining about gold gym membership
Hi
This is Amanpal singh I live in Calgary Alberta Canada actually i want to complain against gold gym I have joined gold gym country hill 19 March 2018 .my first day when I have visited this gym the gold gym guy was there I asked him I want to join the gym and tell me the fees and all other process. He said me he will give one month trial free and after one month I need to pay 25$ biweekly. I said ok and when I can start he said you can start your trial any time but I need to your confirmation for trial so I can come and start my trial . He said I just need your information . Then he asked for my signature for trial . I said ok after after 15 days I checked my bank account gold gym charged me money . I visited and talked with that agent gold gym charged the money but it is trial he said no no you have only 14 days trial free and now you are paying gym fees. And no I am not agree with this I don't want to come and I want to cancel this I don't want to pay fees . I was shocked when he said you are in contract and it was2 year contract and I cannot cancel it if I want to cancel I need to pay 200$ cancellation fees. It is totally unfair gold gym that agent he cheated me . He didn't explain any type of contract and cancellation policy. If gold gym is offering 14 day guest policy or free trial how they can do contract on my first day ?even he did not give me any type of contract copy and other type of paper. My complain I want to cancel this gym because he didn't explain any type of contract.
job got terminated
I want to write a complaint how I was fired from golds gym with only 2 formal warnings. No heads up and I was fired and I was there for maybe 5 months. I am Army Veteran 9 years served. At one time I was forced to train 2 people and got paid for only one hour. PT manager and Sales manager made all the plans and screws the PT over. Very unprofessional. I will forward to all my military friends to stay away from golds. Going from fulltime to part time, my manager fired me for not bringing in $3000 a month. I felt that i got treated horrible by golds gym. Worst organizations ever to be apart of.
There were points where I never got paid, and customer manager Anthony is lazy as [censored]. Won't pay me properly because mangagememts are all friends. The PT manager jeremy, was very unprofessional at the end of my career as part time. When I was working part time as a PT I was expected to sell $3000 a month. Horrible how you guys force PT to sell on people that are poor. Shame on you.
personal trainer program
This is João Vitor de Sá and this is the e-mail regarding what happened during my TR program and why I wanna cancel it. I'll try to be concise, even though this situation had a lot of steps that led me to wanting to cancel. Here's some of them:
- My Trainer was late for the very first appointment we had. Bad start.
- She rescheduled several appointments with short notice. Not one or two, several.
- She missed appointment with no explanation. No heads up, no e-mail, no phone call, no text message, no nothing. Simply, disrespectfully, not showing up.
- She got to the point of rescheduling without even asking if I could make it to the new time, I only found out through an confirmation e-mail that I received, and had to message her myself to ask what was going on. And by the way I have all this messages I'm talking about on my phone, FYI.
- I was told in the beginning of the program my trainer would make me a meal a plan. She did, and it seemed very poorly done. So I googled it only to find out it was a starter meal plan from a 7 day free trial website (!) that anyone can get and it's not even meant for any specifics of my body, so what exactly am I paying the trainer for?!
- She used an online app during some of our sessions and that's where she took our exercises from (!). I'm gonna ask again: what am I paying the trainer for? I could just download the app.
- She asked if I was taking supplements and recommended me one. I bought the one she recommended with her by my side at the gym, but she kept asking every single session after that if I was taking supplements, what only shows me she doesn't even keep notes of where in which stage of their training her trainees are, and she doesn't even recall the things she told me herself to do. Not the kind of trainer I'd trust my physical healthy to.
- After she missed the last appointment I had with her, I was referred to a new trainer. The new trainer talked to me and asked me for my availability, and I messaged him about it. He asked me for an appointment at the exact time I said I was unavailable, so clearly the lack of organization/planning is a pattern from the trainers at the gym that don't even make effort to pay attention to written messages that they can double check anytime if they have a minimum interest of working responsibly.
Having that said, I think it's pretty obvious why I wanna cancel the program. I still have 7 sessions left, and I really don't wanna talk to a third trainer at this point considering I already had a bad experience with 2 of them.
When you guys sold me the TR program I thought I was buying personal training with someone who would create a training and meal plans specifically for me and my body. But what I got was several weeks of rescheduling appointments at the last minute or simply not showing up & a meal plan that I found online for free myself and exercises from an app I can also just have on my phone instead of paying a "trainer". So it makes absolutely no sense to me why I'd stay on this program.
After this very frustrating experience I think it's only fair you guys reimburse me for the 7 sessions I haven't taken yet. The gym and the trainers had several opportunities to make it up to me, but it was just on mistake after the other and I'm very tired of this. I just wanna keep attending the gym by myself and not worry anymore about any of that.
Hopefully you guys will understand the situation and finally help me with it.
important: college station
Hi there,
I am emailing in absolute disappointment with the way I have been treated by Gold's Gym in College Station, Texas. I have been misinformed, mislead, and absolutely been treated poorly. I was led to believe that I was in the best care from the Gold's Gym customer service. As a student at TEEX, I decided to shop around and look at the best gym for me during my stay in Texas. With that said, I decided to go with Gold's Gym after being assured several times by the staff that I would be able to cancel the membership and receive a full refund for the month attended.
I went into the gym and spoke with Mason about the best possible option for me. I was assured that after he spoke with the manager Tory that there was a game plan set in place in order to waive/refund my membership fees. This was because the gym did not offer anything that was suitable for my one month stay. They had "worked around" my needs to accommodate my stay in College Station.
I went in on a separate occasion after my stay at TEEX as Mason had recommended. I was given papers to sign and was assured that I would not be charged absolutely anything. I received absolutely NO hard copies of anything that I signed throughout the process. We signed the forms and I double checked that everything we had set up was good to go. I left in confidence, only to find out afterwards that I had been completely scammed.
I was absolutely shocked to see that I had been charged the membership rate by Gold's Gym. I was not only charged the initial set up fee (which I was promised would be waived), but now I am being told I will be charged $70 for the next three months. This is obviously NOT what I was looking to do as I was only in College Station for 3 weeks. This is absolutely going against what I had discussed with the staff members. I was promised and reassured over again that I would not be charged the membership fee because they had worked something out for me due to my special circumstances.
This is absolutely unjust and immoral. I had called to speak with the General Manager (Travis) and had been treated extremely poorly on the phone. He hung up on me and told me that it was my fault and there was nothing he would do for me. He then stated that he would not give me contact information for his manager.
I do not want to have to go ahead and file a formal complaint, therefore I am taking this last measure before completing a Consumer Complaint with Ken Paxton (the Attorney General of Texas).
This entire situation is completely unethical as I have been mislead, lied to, and manipulated. I am unsure what Gold's Gym 'sales policies' are, but this goes against everything that a company should represent. I was lied to by the sales reps and treated absolutely terrible by the general manager.
I would like to be completely refunded

word of the staff members to include management is worth absolutely zero
I've been a member now ever since that place started as "Gold's Gym Express". I've seen patrons come and go. Staff start and quit. I've seen it start off full steam with lots of members and seen it steadily decline also.
While I don't mind so much that paper towels run out or the "housekeeping" is not as good as better you had a dedicated cleaning lady. Just minor inconvenience. What is unpleasant, is the "WORD" of your staff, simply, not living up to what they say they will do.
I have come in there twice already and spoke to management about this issue. So let me provide you with a quick summary. My Credit Card was stolen. Interim, while awaiting for card to arrive, my membership due was charged to my stolen card, hence, it rejected. When I came into the office to provide an updated card information and informed the staff at the front desk that my card was stolen and I need to provide an updated card on file, He informed me that the system was currently down and that he would get with the manager to inform them of what happened because there was a "Late Fee" imposed on my account. He informed me that the he could not do it, but would inform the manager to reverse the "Late Charge" on my account because it wasn't my fault. Two weeks went by and I stopped by the front desk and spoke to the "Manager on Duty" about the situation. He reviewed my account and informed me that "HE" would take care of it and that "HE" would post a credit on my account and that I would not pay the next monthly fee as the credit would take care of it. On April 16, 2018, my card was charged the standard monthly fee. So my question is. Is the word of Gold's Gym Staff members and management not worth anything? Because if that is the case, I've been looking for an excuse to become a member of Planet Fitness, 10 Gym or the other nearby gyms in the surrounding area. And you can keep my "Late Fee" as a parting gift.

Today I came for a interview at your corporate office. The interview was suppose to taken by Ms Albina but for waiting there for half an hour they said you can leave for the day. They didn't even conducted the interview. I mean what kind of a behaviour is this and I don't expect this behavior from such reputed company like gold gym. They didn't told me what the problem is? I mean if they just called me for filing the form that I can do online also.
I want a good answer why they did like that if they don't need the person they should inform them on phone only.
Please answer ASAP

cft course
My son omar ahmed helmy enrolled in the cft course held from november 1st 2017 to march 1st 2018 in egypt. The fees were payed in two installments but up to date the books supposedly provided have not been so. I informed them that I will settle for an electronic copy to be sent and they agreed but insisted that my son attend in person to obtain it, and he was obliged to do that. Actually what they provided was an incomplete pdf and since then they have been stalling. He needs the books to study so he can sit for his cft exam. My email address is [protected]@hotmail.com.
lousy customer service
I was a member of Gold's gym at Courthouse in Arlington, VA until mid-2017 when I started having thyroid problems which caused heart palpitations. Fast forward, I had a complete thyroidectomy in December 2017 and wanted to start working out again in Feb 2018. So, I went to the gym and talked to the manager Denis Hernandez. He promised that he would try to get the fees waived during my illness, by talking to the district manager, but he totally dropped the ball. I called. I visited. I talked to other staff. I left messages. Now its April 12 2018, and he has still not responded. If I don't hear back from him in the next ten (10) days with a fully reinstated membership and no charge due, I am out --i.e. I will discontinue my membership at that gym forever and take my business elsewhere.
gym membership
They changed their hours, after my husband signed a three month contract. He emailed Jose that the Gym would no longer be a viable option. Fulfilled his contract, and they still had the balls to charge him an extra month due to the fact Jose did not cancel properly. Then hid behind corporate to not refund the money when they were clearly wrong and misleading. ANY other gym is better!
gym at preston center-member issue-threat
I observed a very disturbing incident that occurred on 3/21/18 at around 6:30p.m. yesterday. There was member named Neil (heavily tattooed individual) that punched a Hispanic man in face. This member Neil uses the gym like it is his own.
He and I had a incident a few months back when he got upset when I moved his gym bag from a machine he had not been using for over 10 minutes. He threatened me back then. This guy Neil is a ticking time bomb. The sad thing is that the management of this gym allows him to get away with this behavior. I want to make sure that this is posted so if another incident like this occurs Golds Gym is aware that they have been put on notice that this guy needs to be dealt with in order to avoid injury to any other members.
I am sorry I am just now seeing this. Niels does a lot of supersets and has never told anyone they cannot workout on a machine while he is going back and forth. All you have to do is ask. Moving someone else's gym bag is not appropriate anywhere you workout.
Also, I was there when the incident with the hispanic man happened and your information is incorrect. I was the person in between the two men to break up the fight. The hispanic man shoved niels and put his hands up to fight, THEN niels shoved the hispanic man and he fell under the leg press machine.
If you are going to attack a member please provide correct information.
jump rope
I am a proud member of the Killeen Gold's Gym...
I have my account and my wife's account for over 2 years now.
Have used months of personal training which costs me thousands
So, I find very disrespectful and unnecessary for me to turn over my 46000 dollars car keys over if I need to use a 5 dollars jump rope while I'm working out and have already checked in.
I understand that not everyone who comes in the gym are honest people but I picked Gold's gym because of the equipments and everything that was available when I did my walk through and I also agreed to pay over 40 dollars a month for them so it doesn't make sense to take them away from me
So, please fix it!...
Took care of it
cancelled membership
The guy who signed me up called to do a follow up on my progress and I told him to cancel my memebersbip as I was not gona go . Health issues etc. We laughed and joked and he was pleasant and that was that . Well, I had being billed since july of last year . Im mean wth ? I just cancelled when I noticed my checking account was low . I had a memebership that was billed every two weeks at the low price 19.99 . Im on a fixwd income and cant afford to be wronged like that . I cancelled in july and got billed for 8 months after . When I spoke to the manager he said I wouldnt get reimbersed. Im must like wow . I think golds gym is better than that and will fix this .
