I got something I didn't buy.
Today is 5/5/23. I recived a box from hellofresh, I have been unsubsicribed for weeks and just recived a box on my porch. I would like a full refund of the 50$ thing I have recived. The box is still unopended and I have no idea what meals are inside. WTF. Why did you charge me. I don't know if my family will even eat what is in this so 57$ of food will just be thrown away.

Hello Fresh Meal Kit Delivery Service
In early April 2023, I received an invitation for a "free box." All you have to do is enter your credit card information to pay for delivery (and understand that you do have to cancel if you don't want to subscribe to weekly meals).
So I entered my credit card information on their website and was told that my credit card was declined. I re-checked all the info including the number of the back and it was all correct, so I decided not to pursue it. (A hassle!)
Today, April 2023, I received a text that a box of meals was on the way. Shipped April 17, so it was shipped five days ago. I checked my credit card and sure enough, it was charged $118!
I called their customer service line and "Noor" answered it. She put me on hold for 30 minutes and then the call was terminated on their end.
Stay away from this scam! Poor customer service. They just want your credit card number.
Desired outcome: I would like to know why my credit card was supposedly declined for shipping of the free box, and then legitimately charged three weeks later for a "paid" box of food.
Same thing happened to me! I had also purchased a gift card for my son and he never received it via email. Same credit card! I was charged though and am waiting on refund still. I won't try again. I will just make my own meals.
Unethical company practices
I attempted to view the HELLOFRESH menu on 4/5/23. They require you put in credit card information. After seeing that the menu was gross, I immediately went in and cancelled everything so I would not be charged. I called HelloFresh at. [protected] and was assured I would not be charged and that I had cancelled everything. on 4/7/23 I get a notification from PayPal that I was charged $71.84 from Hellofresh. This is unethical and sneaky business practices. It is also unethical to tell someone everything is cancelled and will not be charged if hello fresh knows they will be scamming anyway.
Desired outcome: Full refund of the $71.84 that was not authorized.
Same and then when speaking to a customer service person … got major attitude that I knew what I was getting into … refused to escalate to a supervisor saying they can’t do anything about it.

Charged without ordering.
I had an email to say a NZ post courier was on its way. I hadn't ordered so logged onto my hello fresh account to check what was going on. I had not made an order since March last year (1 year ago)
I had a phone call from hello fresh previous week which I usually ignore as trying to get us to reorder. I explained that I would love to but could not afford this multiple times. Lady kept offering discounts and said would email me. I said this was fine I will look but cannot afford so will not be doing right now.
On logging back into my account today I have been advised that this activated my subscription and they have charged my account and that I needed to log in to cancel it.
They have done this without permission.
Furiously, I rung them, they offered 50% off initially. I advised I never wanted it and already had my groceries sorted for the week. They got back with a cancelled subscription, have refunded my bank 100% and I have requested my voice recording.
My credit card from last time I ordered a box was expired so did not think they could even do this!
Desired outcome: Deleted account, does not happen to anyone else!!Absolutely terrible customer service and way of getting people!Its working on the hope people think its to hard to cancel and that is not okay!!
Unauthorised charge
On logging back into my account I have been advised that this activated my subscription and they have charged my account without permission.
I have never ordered or had a subscription from hellofresh as they do not cater to my dietary requirements. I created an account in 2021 to explore the company, after not finding anything I wanted I didn’t place an order.
This week I received a ‘free box’ coupon from a friend so I logged in to see if they had updated their meal choices. After I viewed their menu, and they still do not offer any vegan meals, I came off the website and DID NOT ORDER.
I have contacted customer services and they have offered me a 50% refund for something I did NOT order and something I can not eat!

Unauthorized credit card charge
I went online on February 23, 2023 to look at Hello Fresh website. I was directed to enter in all my information including my credit card information and make an account prior to being able to access all menu options.
Within a few minutes I decided not to use this service. I immediately cancelled my account. However, my card was immediately charged $38.97. I called them and they said that my account was indeed cancelled but the billing was on a separate "system" and they couldn't refund my money.
They said they would send the box I ordered. As of February 26, 2023 when it was supposed to have been delivered it did not arrive. I called them that evening and they said it should be there later that night. It wasn't and I called on the next day and they said they would refund the money to my card. I was to wait 5-10 business days for this to happen.
I waited and it did not happen. Afraid they would continue to charge my card I cancelled the card, called them AGAIN and demanded a paper check on March9th. They said they would issue a paper check within 72 hours. I still have not received my money and called them again today. They are supposedly having a supervisor call me within 24 hours.
Desired outcome: I want my money back!!!!!!!

Very misleading ads.
Said I received a free box from a friend but I was charged.
Immediately I called to cancel order but was told too late to cancel.
Asked to speak with supervisor— none available.
Process said credit would be added at end of order, but it was not.
They say an amount is credited to you over a series of orders,
But thus is not communicated before order is placed.
STAY AWAY, IT IS NOT FREE.
Admin and charges for products not ordered
First looked at Hello Fresh after a marketing campaign. Saw what they offered and left the web site. Imagine my surprise a few days later when a box of food was left on my doorstep and payments had been requested and paid from my bank. When complaining was told this is a weekly subscription service that I had signed up to by registering on their web site. I was not made aware that boxes of food and charges would be made following my visit, especially since I did not order anything or authorise any payments. I have since put a hold on them with my bank and cancelled my "subscription". They continue to try to take money out of my bank and after three weeks, another box arrived on my doorstep and an invoice for £45 as they were unable to get the money from my bank.
On contacting them they say that my account is still open and I have contracted to have a box every week. They have also demanded payment to cancel my account which I had already requested a few weeks ago.
The food is good and we enjoyed it, but we are at the mercy of Hello Fresh who seem to have cart blanche over doing anything they want. Admin is useless, customer support is rubbish speaking to different support agents you get a different story each time.
Will not use them again and I advise pothers to be careful.

We were advised to add credit card details, that would not be used, to enable us to look at more food options. We did the discounted order for a friend, went to look at options for us and decided that the meals didn't suit us, so we did not make any orders. However, 2 amounts have been deducted from our bank account. The query was done under the name of Kirsten Frost and the card details were that of Jon Coils. The deductions we $99.99 and $49.99 on Tuesday 7th March 2023. Please advise if we could get a refund for these as we did not confirm any orders.

Product / service
before I checked out I realized that this service was not for me. There is only one person to cook for and that is me. I also did not realize that these were meals that were time consuming to cook, so I stopped and did not complete the order and assumed that that would be the end of it. I thought it was similar to instacart which I do use. A box was delivered anyway even though I did not choose all the meals. I decided to try one and be open minded. My first meal was missing one of the main ingredients. I tried again the following day and honestly did not care for it. I contacted I believe by phone and cancelled my service. Today I received a text that I would be receiving another box, I did not place an order nor did I choose any meals. I immediately called the delivery service and explained I had cancelled and the woman I spoke with said she would cancel my delivery however it was delivered anyway. Please have someone come and pick up this box. I will not be using it and will dispute any charges with this order. Do not send any further orders.

Website functionality and incorrect discount application
I received an invitation to Hello Fresh from a friend in February 2023 and decided to give it a try. I signed up fairly easily and was able to select my own 3 meals after declining the ones that were preselected for me. After that I had chronic problems with placing my orders and had to call customer service in order to make sure I received what I was trying to order. The Hello Fresh page would never remove the preselected meals and replace them with what I wanted. I was never able to view my order or confirm the price. I was expecting my most recent order on 3/1/23 but received an email notice on 2/28/23 that my shipment had been delayed (FedEx). I later received an email from Hellos Fresh telling me that my order was not going to arrive and had been canceled due to a delay in transit/or it was damaged and that I would receive a credit for those meals. Shortly after I subscribed to Hello Fresh I received a promotional invitation for being a Registered Nurse. I went through the verification process to ensure I was an RN and received the following discount: "Discount applied: up to 65% off your next 52 deliveries (plus free shipping)" I initially received the 65% discount and free shipping. After that one box my discount was 15%, but I was charged shipping on each box. My interpretation of that offer was that there would be free shipping for 52 deliveries. After speaking with a customer service representative today 3/4/23 I was told that the free shipping was only for one box, but as far as I am concerned that is not how the discount reads. The 15% discount is not really a discount because when shipping is added that takes the discount away. When I asked the representative today to speak with a supervisor I was asked why and then as told she had to get permission from the supervisor for me to speak with him/her. What is this, first grade where you have to ask permission? While my husband and I really enjoy the food I feel the discount promotions are not clearly written and seems as if it is a bait and switch operation. The box of food received on my second or third order was completely opened at the bottom and the food items were cool, not cold. Hello Fresh did make good when I called to bring this to their attention, but obvioulsy if the carrier cannot delvier these products without severely damaging them or they are not able to mantain the integrity of the boxes Hello Fresh should change carriers to ensure quality products at all times. I am not waiting for a supervisor to call me back and my subscription has been placed on hold for 3 months by the representative I originally spoke with as she would not cancel my subscription.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive free shipping for the 52 deliveries as the promotional discount led me to believe I would receive it.
40% off code not working
I received a letter in the mail to Come Back to Hello Fresh. When I selected my meals and then put the code in it would not work. I do not wish to Come back to Hello Fresh unless you do what you are offering. The letter is for 40% off next 2 boxes and then 20% off the next 2 boxes after that.

Bad produce
Hello, my name is Sylvia.
And I started Hello Fresh April 2022 after my husband had knee surgery.
At first it was great, then my issue's started. I was getting bad produce with my order. I sent out an e-mail and was told they would look into it and gave me a credit. Well, every couple of weeks I would get more bad produce, again I would send an e-mail and I may or may not hear from anyone. So, this year after I received my tenth packet of bad produce my husband and I canceled our service. To this day I have received no response from anyone from Hello Fresh.
I think that there is a real issue with whoever handles the packing of these items.
They should not go bad after two days.

I did not authorize HelloFresh to charge my card. Next thing I know I get a text message saying that a package is going to my OLD address and will be there by tonight. I called them immediately. They said they couldn't do anything about it and tried blaming me when I never approved the order, which is also obvious because the address is wrong and I wouldn't approve that. They are charging people's card without letting them know. The supervisor was very rude and hung up on me and wouldn't even let me speak. I called back and said the person I spoke to wasn't a supervisor because they can't directly connect me to a supervisor without requesting a call back.

Took money out of my account even when I cancelled.
2/5/23. I decided to try HelloFresh for a week as a trial. I skipped the next week because I knew my budget couldn't do that week. Plus I was in a hurry and couldn't find anywhere on the site to cancel my account. I received an alert from my banking that money came out for the next box which cost more than double the first. I searched and searched the site, and opened a chat to find out how to cancel. No luck there. Then I searched some more and finally found out how to cancel. I called them after to be sure it was canceled and since I just got the alert and it showed the charge was processing, I wanted to stop that order. They basically said my last day to cancel was yesterday and there was nothing they could do. The box has not shipped yet, there is no reason they can't click a button on their screen to cancel it. I started to get heated and they basically told me they would have a supervisor call me back in 24 hours. I'm not going to hold my breath. I am done with this company. They don't care as long as they get their money. Hopefully, my bank can dispute the charges.

Got my mom a gift card for Christmas. She had trouble applying the gift card when purchasing. She called for help and they said they couldn't help her because she already had an account. She then was charged weekly for meals that she received. She called to ask again about your gift certificate and was told she signed up for a 8 week promotional. She again told them what happened and asked if the gift card could be used. She was given the run around and they told her to have me her daughter call in. I did and explained what I believe happened and asked that the GC be applied. They said it could be applied to her future meals. I asked why they couldn't give her a refund on the meals purchased. I was told she should have called sooner. 2 things here that upset me. 1) We did! and got NO help. 2) We had a death in the family and this was last thing we were worried about. We called as soon as we could. My mom has called twice and so have I. I was planning on using Hello Fresh myself but NOT now. I will go to Blue Apron or the many others out there.

I was an every plate customer... got some charges that I did not agree with cancelled. I would like a refund.. the rep gave me hellofresh.com as the em address.. and we both know its not.. overseas personas are not the best at what they do... arg... so I just need that em address I dont want to chat with anyone I am aggravated and just want a resolution.

Shady and unethical business practices
on 1/3/23 I went on hellofresh's website to check it out. they force you to create an account to even see their menu. I have celiac disease and none of their food is safe for me to eat. after 20 minutes of looking their menu over I paused the account because they do not even give you a cancel option, and then I made sure the cart was clear of anything. the next day I see a pending charge on my account from them so I go back to see what is going on and they had put suggested meals in my account and charged me for them! none of them are edible for me! I called them and the rep said I would have had to cancel the day before to not get the shipment! I told him I cancelled the account and cleared all food from the cart and he said there was nothing he could do. I asked for a supervisor and he told me they do a call back within 24 to 48 hours and I have heard nothing from them. I also filed a complaint with the BBB against them. I think everyone should know they are a bunch of thieves and should not be allowed to operate in this country!
