customer service and the definition of customer service
I called today since I had not heard one word from anyone at Kroger since I submitted my complaint.
Sara/call center rep. advised me that my complaint had been forwarded on to corporate. This was after she placed me on hold to read the complaint. I actually do appreciate the fact that was the first thing she did. It showed a willingness to understand the issue from the beginning instead of waiting until 5 minutes into the call. 😀
However, after she told me it had been sent on there was nothing else she could say. I actually had to dig the responses out of her.
I briefly explained how bad my experience was and that I had not heard anything at all from Kroger in over a week. I had tried to call every other day and couldn't get past more than a 20 minute hold.
Sara advised me that once a complaint is sent on to hdq that they don't hear anything else. So for her, case closed.
I again said that I just didn't understand not reaching out with the news that the case had been forwarded to hdq or even if anyone from Kroger was aware of anything. I asked why Kroger doesn't at least let the customer know that the case has been sent on. She then said she couldn't answer that question. And that it could take more than 2 weeks before I hear anything.
The more I tried to explain how I don't understand not passing on anything at all to a customer who has clearly been mistreated not even to let them know(which could be good or bad)of the forwarding. That's when she finally says that someone did call to advise me of this. I've been on the phone for almost 10 minutes and after bringing up the issue several times she finally now says this. Really?
I have to question Kroger's so called customer service practices when the customer who has been upset, regardless if it is right or wrong, has to pry any information from a "customer service agent". I also don't and never will understand how a person can hear that a disabled women is ganged up and bullied by two men, insulted and even had money stolen from her and NEVER once during the phone call does Sara say she apologizes. If anything, how about she is sorry I "FELT" mistreated? At least show you care at all.
Bottom line-Right or wrong on the understanding of the sale and or more, mistakes were made on both sides. The whole thing didn't have to be such a horrible mess. I was treated rudely by Sergio and Michael. It cost Kroger NOTHING to say they are sorry I felt or was upset that night.
I left crying due to what they did and Sara can't even be understanding as a human.
What has happened to Kroger? I don't know if it's each store or comes from Corporate but having good customer service is FREE. A nice apology from someone who actually cares goes a long way. And it makes me really sad that one of my favorite stores has fallen this way. I now know that Kroger doesn't care about anything but especially the customers. Because clearly breaking the law with advertising one price and not giving it, a very underhanded method of business is the Kroger of 2018. ☹️
new remodel, terrible service.
Recently we were excited to have a full service remodeled store in Springfield Tn., Well after a lengthy construction and shopping around the construction for quite a while the store was complete. So much better with additional offerings. This is a pretty busy store and we have been loyal Kroger customers for years but recently wishing Publix would come to our home town. My wife and I have found the shelves half stocked and many items recently out of stock period. We were in the store Sunday afternoon and when we went to checkout there were seveal checkouts not open and the self checkout was covered up, which I really do not like especially when you have a large amount of groceries which we did. There was noone to bag so I bagged my own groceries entirely and not the first time either as I looked down the isle I saw a manager who watched me bag my own while she watched. The deli is never open to get sub sandwiches or plate lunches. My father asked about the deli after several visits and was told the refrigeration was out after numerous visits. I am normally not a complainer but I spend thousands a year with Kroger and am considering a switch. Please look at whatever will make this a better experience for shoppers in Springfield Tn. weather it takes a management change or something drastic. A friend who has been a Kroger employee for years confided that they have had numerous complaints.

cashing check for $20 over my bill
My bank is too far away to just cash a check for $20 pocket money, so when I go to Kroger's in Morehead, KY., I usually write it for $20-25 over my purchase. Last Wednesday, June 20, 2018, I was "allowed" to write it for the purchase, but not the additional $20. The cashier tried it a second time...".no". Then, I thought if I went through the same line with an additional purchase, …...still, "no". So, now I have 3
little notations from Kroger #734, all from the same cashier's lane: "I'm sorry, but we're unable to proceed with your transaction." ---------after more literary comments, goes on to say: "you have the right to obtain a free copy of your information held in Certegy's file, if you request it no later than 60 days after you receive this notice. In addition, if you find that any information in Certegy's file is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to dispute it with Certegy."
So...here I am...….wondering what in the heck happened on Wednesday? The cashier was dumbfounded as to "why".
I tried calling the 800 number provided, but I only got automated voices wanting me to purchase something/sign up for something, 5 different times...that's when I hung up, without getting to speak to anyone.
mixing organic products with the rest of the store.
I will quit shopping st Kroger if I have to go through the entire store for the few organic products I buy. It's too hard to find them as it is but you moving them will be insane. I hate the Kroger stores that you have to search for the organic up and down the isles through the sludge and bad smells of the bad foods. You can smell the preservatives and the bad sugars and yeast after being free from them. I truly cannot stand that you are doing this. My whole entire family shops at Kroger for the organic foods and they all said they may as well shop at Walmart. They said Walmart is getting some pretty awesome organic food and it's far cheaper. I don't know how true this is but we may switch. It's more than an hours drive for us to go to Kroger and that wears us out enough without having to shop all the isles. I won't do it, it's just too much! Who made up something so stupid? You think organic people make gut but the poison foods? Not on your life will people who are organic do that! It's just the dumbest idea and totally has made us all mad!
customer service
Hello, I wish to first start by stating that I run and own a day care facility. I also feed the hungry/homeless in a large capacity twice a month. Because of my business, community work, as well as my personal use, I spend no less than $2200 per month ($26, 400 yearly) at krogers stores. Primarily the store located at 590 cascade ave sw, atlanta, ga 30310. Also 95% of the time I pay full price as I dont utilize my krogers card. Last night I went into the krogers located at 590 cascade ave sw, atlanta, ga 30310 to pay a bill. I was told that the people in front of me (2), were the last two customers that would be served. I said that it was my understanding that customer service close at 10pm and when I called to verify that is what I was told. The customer service worker stated that customer service is closed at 9:45pm. I said well that's wonderful because it is 9:40pm and I made it just in time. She then looked at me at said, "these two men will be my last customers." I said may I please speak to a manager. After asking her twice she finally got on the phone and called the manager. She then hung up the phone and 5 minutes later (9:47pm) I said, "is the manager coming to speak to me?". The customer service person (taniya I believe her name was) said, "no she's not. She said she doesnt have time to be bothered with this!". I asked her to repeat what she just had told me and then I motioned to the security officer, who was a few feet away, to come to customer service. Once he arrived I explained to him my frustration and he then tried to call and go get the manager himself. By this time the customer service worker (taniya I believe is the spelling of her name), turns off all the lights and looks at me and laughs and says im done. I told her she was being rude and she yells at me and says the most unbelievable thing to me. She says (and I quote), "you just mad because you can't pay your bill. Don't be mad at me because you waited until the last minute. You should have paid it earlier!" I could not believe she said that. I told her she was unprofessional and rude and I asked her for corporate's number. To which she quickly replied, "1-800-krogers, call them I don't care"! I absolutely can not believe her attitude and behavior and want justice for the situation.
cake
I recently ordered a cake from the Kroger near my home and was disappointed with the outcome. The cake was ordered for a graduation party so I got a full sheet to feed my 70+ guests. When I ordered the cake I asked for it to be made with a whipped frosting seeing as the guests I had invited preferred that. Upon cutting the cake at the party I realized it wasn't what I had asked for. I was very disappointed because I had paid $50 for that cake and not even a fourth of it was eaten because no one liked the topping. It was very upsetting to have that reaction to something I was excited for.
We have purchased ‘Cincinnati Gourmet Ham’ from the deli at the Forest Hills Kroger for years. Sunday I was told that Kroger no longer carries this brand. This is apparently a corporate decision. I am registering my extreme irritation with this decision. Why discontinue an excellent product? Kroger does not off another baked ham product that is anywhere near the quality and flavor of Cincinnati Gourmet, the Boars Head brand doesn’t even come close. Please rethink this and return the Cincinnati Gourmet Ham to the delis in your Kroger store at Forest Hills.

the latonia store on winston ave in covington ky.
Please do something with the condition of the store! I have sent letters to corporate no reply. I have many times cleaned the parking lot and gone in with bags of garbage to have a worker or manager do something about their lot. It is filthy all of the time as well as the front of the store! Garbage never picked up, garbage cans overflowing, now the inside of the store is looking bad. I know that the clientel is not good but you cannot lower your standards. You have to be proud of your store and keep it presentable to the public. I have talked to 6 different managers over a few years about the conditions of the store. I was there at 7:00 tonight and it was horrible. SO why can't a manager designate a worker to periodically make sure that the trash in the cans are not overflowing out front and garbage in the parking lot is picked up. It is sad that people throw garbage everywhere BUT we have to take care of the matter. The answer that I get from the manager is.. we don't own the parking lot! WELL MY GOSH what kind of answer is that. You still need to take care of your store! I am getting so I will have to shop elsewhere. There is also grease all over the lot from cars. Please check into this! This is an easy fix. A manager can take care of this matter give a kid a job to keep the store looking good inside and out! Have them bend over like I do at the age of 65 and pick up the mess!
rudeness from pharmacy help
I was treated very rude by a girl named sheri at the Logan ohio Krogers pharmacy, I was informed that a lot of other people stopped going there all because of her attitude and nothing has been done about it, she picks and chooses who to be nice too, then gossips to the other workers about the person who she just treated like crap. In my opinion, if I had a employee treating customers like crap driving them away, I would terminate her immediately especially because these are customers who came in not being rude to the employees, meaning there was no reason why she should treat people beneath her.
employment/management
This complaint is regarding the Kroger in Madison at 1070 Highway 51, Store Division 492. I am currently an employee here and I must say, I have been praying for liberation from this place of work. The management as a whole is complete and utter trash. We have not had a single meeting since I have been employed here (and thats been a year) regarding store and worker issues. As long as it isn't affecting management directly, THEY DO NOT CARE! I am overworked and underpaid! I complete tasks and jobs of others without the pay and job title. Everytime Memphis comes and visits, that is the only time they seem to care and it is all a facade. We never have enough baggers nor cashiers and they constantly are cutting hours per management because they do not want anyone to go full time and among other reasons. This is a very high stress volume for it to be a grocery store and I do not recommend it to anyone.
chad's smoked gouda dip
This problem has become a recurrent one.
When this dip is made correctly, more mayo I'm guessing, it is moist and very good. When it is poorly made, it's dry and rather stiff for dipping., and not nearly as flavorful.
Is there not a recipe or any quality control?
I shop at the Louisville store on South Boulder Road and purchased this item on Friday.
Great when it's good, but sucks when it's not.

"making it right" for lack of product. no rain checks or substitutions.
2 Day Sale . I went Saturday evening shelf empty . Sunday morning shelf empty . No powerade. 2 or 3 Miracle Whip . Check the sales . Very few customers there. I know they didn't sell all that product that fast . Someone needs to order according to sale. Cherie refused to give out rain checks or substitute another item . What happened to the " Make it Right " option. My mother's been shopping there 50 years . She wants to picket the store . You will lose her. service and management
Today I was in the Mt. Orab store and seen and met the new store manager Sandy I think that was her name. Anyway I met her and was kind of let down that the previous store manager Brent was no longer there. I don't usually go to this store I normally go to Blanchester or Hillsboro. Anyway I started my shopping and notice they changed the store around and there was no longer a Natural Food section. So I went to one of the employees there I believe his name was Chris and he told me they took all the Natural food and put it all together with the regular items. I asked him why they did that and his answer was "That was the way they wanted it" real nasty. So I said OK and went on and found some of my gluten free items but it took me over an hour to get them because I had to go down every isle to get them. When I was shopping I seen a employee I know from Hillsboro that now works there and she told me they are moving just about all of first shift to either second or third shift. So I asked her what if people like me need help and she said I would have to go to customer service and and ask them. I asked her who is making that decision? She said store management and district management and no employee is happy about it. I think this is wrong. She told me that some employees work over 23 years for the company and are talking about leaving. I think this is awful to treat a employee like this. So I went to check out and seen Sandy again and asked her about what I heard from the employee I know. She said it will help the store. I asked her how people leaving and putting them on 2nd and 3rd shift would help the store and nobody on first shift to help the customers.she said and I quote "That is for me to figure out and you to shop" really nasty. I told her I will never come in this store again and she was a rude person. So she laughed and walked away. I went through the line and got the heck out of there. Now I am here to say this. This woman Sandy is a nasty awful person that needs to lose her job. I am woman that is somewhat handicapped and for her to talk to me that way is just unprofessional. And this guy Chris that is I guess is the co store manager needs to go as well. I see why people are wanting to leave the store. I for one will never go in this store again. The way they are treating there employees and there are treating there customers. Kroger should be ashamed of themselves for putting these 2 people in charge of this store and should be even more ashamed of there district management to let this go on. I myself think I am done with kroger for a while. There is a Save A Lot, Dollar General, and a Community Market I will be do business with for a while. I was very upset when I got home the way I was treated and if I worked there I would not want to be treated this way buy these people.
parking lot - carts
I went to my local Kroeger at 8:00pm on a Monday night. A regular Monday, no holiday. I could not find a cart in the store to save my life.
So, I walk outside and low and behold!
There are all the carts.
This is 100% unacceptable. There is more than one person not doing there job tonight folks.
I'm pregnant, so I can only imagine others frustration.
romaine blend
I bought your Romaine lettuce blend from Ralph's and was very disappointed with it's contents.
Majority of the packet was full of the thick white veins and the stalks that are bitter and unpleasant to eat.
I landed up throwing half of the packet away and will never buy it again!
The white stems and veins cause an allergic reaction where my fingers, hands, ankles and feet swell.
service and merchandising
dToday was the last time I will go to Kroger in my neighborhood. The service is spotty at best and today it was maddening. The specialty meat counter is friendly once in a while, but not today. The fellow acted like it was a bother to wait on me. Then in shopping several items that I buy all the time are missing. When I have asked why not order more I am told they have no storage or sometimes another made up reason. Then at the service desk I waited 10 minutes for the lone customer service person to finish with the one customer ahead of me. A man walked up and asked her a question and she proceeded to wait on him. I asked for my tickets back and she would not give them to me. I had to wait for her to finish with this man. For all of this and the years of frustration in shopping at Kroger in Poplar Plaza in Memphis, I say adios! Never again. I spend about $200 per week there, sometimes more for a party. Fresh Market, Sprouts, Superlo, Aldi and Save a Lot here I come.
customer service
We were excited to see that they had the new star wars hot wheels line of cars. Unfortunately, when we got up to the check out they rang up as $4.99 per car, the display said $1.00. It took 5 ladies, 10 minutes and a phone call to tell me that the product was stocked wrong and that I could only get 1 car for that price.in the end it was supposedly match box cars and not hot wheels for a $1.00.
When I go shopping I don't grab the item and check the upc code to see if it matches the pricing put up by the employees, I usually look at a sign for the price and determine whether or not I want to purchase an item. After the phone call to another manager (who couldn't be bothered to come and see what was going on) it seemed as if I was being accused of moving the cars into that spot to purchase them for that price. Normally, when a company does something wrong they look at ways to fix the issue and not accuse the customer's of wrong doing.
The fact that it took 5 ladies to ultimately piss us off and make us not want to return to the store again is a horrible business model for customer service. Some training might need to be the focus if the company plans on retaining customers for furture business. We've just moved to texas from a part of the country that doesn't have any kroger's and this was a horrible first impression of the company. We went there because it's the closest to our home maybe, we'll decide to drive a little further to a business that we know has better prices and great customer service!
In the end the price was only being honored for 1 car because I had all 8 cars of the series, I was still going to buy them but, when the toy manager made the comment that someone must have moved them there (implying us) because we just had inventory, made us decide to not buy any of the cars. After I made the comment about how it was ridiculous that their customer service was this bad considering there were 5 people, a phone call to another manager and someone accusing the customer of wrong doing that the front end manager offered us a free car (which we declined to accept). All the cars where on that display and should have been honored.
We cannot ever recall having customer service that was this horrible and we spent $150.00 and we're going to see if there was a full case (24) of marvel toys that were $3.00 a piece in the back to purchase but with how everything was handled we decided we would go to a competitor to make our purchase.
kroger 405.
The last year I worked for the kroger company at store 405, in bartlett tn, was the worst. It got steadily worse as "new" managers came into the store. Mrs. Bryant (assistant store manager) and Teresa on the front end lead was the worst of the 2. They have ran away the best workers they had including myself. When union has been called on these 2 and nothing was done about them, this store and company has a problem. They have a bad attitude and are prejudiced. They think they have all this authority but in reality they have been making matters much worse. I went on leave for the military for a month, and came back to work that following Monday getting home saturday. I had terrible shoulder pain Tuesday morning and couldn't see my pcp until the next Monday. So I went and got a note from the hospital I went to, but they gave me a note for that day only and put me in muscle relaxers for 3 days, which I couldn't work on. Come that Thursday I was still hurting and in pain but again I couldn't get into my physician until the 14th. So I went to work in drug gm that thursday june 7, 2018. I was called up front to help cashier and bag, because the front end had 7, yes 7 people quit. I told them I was still hurt and couldn't help up front, Bryant then confronted me saying that my note was for only a day with no restrictions, and that since the note said that I should be able to go help up front. And if I had restrictions I shouldn't be at work. First of all, I got hurt doing my service for my country, and second I've seen people hurt at work before including sick with flu. I had to return to work even while I was hurt, because I cant afford to stay off any longer. But I walked out that day, the pain and the blatant disregard from management is just way over the top. I quit the next day. If kroger keeps on with these managers who have too much power in their head, the company will go down the drain. I and many customers can already see it going down. This location is bad, roaches in the break room and on the sales floor. Baggers cross contaminate customers food items. For the amount of pay Kroger pays its employees and the amount of stress the employees take daily Is why they cannot keep anyone, and why everyone leaves.
primerib and horseradish chips
Hello. I recently purchaced 4 bags of primerib and horseradish chips. Previously they were some of the best chips i have ever had. These 4 bags were bland with no seasoning. They were still pretty good as far as chips go...but not primerib good. Im just wanting them to get back to normal because they are so good. Please let me know if it was just a faulty batch or if the recipie changed. Thanks.
inaccurate prescription and price
Called and spoke with Kroger pharmacy associate around 9:15am on Sunday June 3rd, 2018. Kroger Rx employee stated 3 items ready with a monthly supply of $49ish. Asked again for specifics of price for the month. She advised of obvious price changes of the monthly supply. (Money was loaned to me because I'm in the last semester of my bachelors nursing program and will go on for my nurse practitioner). Picked up Rx around 1400 Sunday via drive-thru window paid the $49ish for the three monthly supply scripts. Around 1530 Sunday checked my bottles and the prescription I paid the $49 contained 6 pills, not a 30-day supply as stated prior. Called the pharmacist and she refused to honor the other 24 pills. (As if I was negligent for not checking their work). Advised her I spoke with someone in that dept at 9:15 am. She spoke with the employee and she denied the morning conversation and price quote. (If I wasn't given a price what was the point of calling, and how would I know how much money I needed to borrow). She spoke with the employee and she denied the morning conversation and quote. Pharmacist again refused to correct the issue, per her she believed the employee. Pharmacist left me with 2 option either bring the 6 pills back for a refund or pay the difference to get my prescription corrected. Photo of the incorrect script is provided below and home phone number is [protected]. I do request the quoted price to be honored and my monthly amount corrected. No one is responsible to double check the work behind the counters of drug stores. This is why we spend many weeks or years in specialized programs to provide proper information, adequate information, and hazardless information. As a healthcare provider and as someone who will have privileges to prescribe to her patients medications, as well as suggesting pharmacy suppliers such as Kroger pharmacy this is unacceptable. (You should be able to notice the inconsistency with the receipts and bottles).
