digital coupons for seniors without smartphones & computers
I have been a loyal customer of Kroger for years and enjoyed the store brands and low prices to keep me from shopping other store specials. Today, at age 71, I was shopping in Kroger on Eldorado Pkwy. in McKinney, TX and selected two boxes of Keebler Club Crackers on a display marked 99 cents. At the checkout, the charge was $2.99 per box. When I brought it...

First off, I am not happy with digital coupons. My father is 88 and cannot do on his computer. What about the elderly or people that can't see well or people that do not have time to download digital coupons This is borderline discrimination. Also this Kroger does not pay attention to outdated items I have bought items from mouthwash to cookies in the refrigerated section and do not realize they are out of date til receipt is thrown away a few days later. I have gotten food poisoning from crab legs Bought chicken wings for 7.99 a pound and could not eat them . Went to get a flower and whole rack in front of store was dead. Asked for cigs and was told they were out. I asked the cashier if they had unopened cartons which they did. She did not bother to look. This store needs some help . Also would help if merchandisers would get out of you way. Majority of employees are nice and helpful. A few I wanted to smack because they were so rude. Love shopping here, but this store needs some direction . Also, change digital Coupons! Thank you.
produce department
I have been a loyal customer for many years. I have always shopped at Kroger for the variety, the prices and the friendly staff. I was in your store in Plano (on Parker and the Tollway) a few weeks ago. I was going to purchase some watermelon, and I was shocked to find that you have changed your pricing on it. In the past, I could purchase a quarter of a watermelon for 1.99, and an eighth for .99 Someone in your company has decided that watermelon should now be priced at .99 PER POUND! My question is WHY?! Are you people really that greedy?! You do realize that most of the weight of the melon is in the rind, correct? The quarter slice that I picked up was priced at $3.40! I thought this was a mistake, so I sought out the produce manager, who said that that was indeed the correct price! He said that he did not agree with the change in pricing, but was powerless to do anything about it. I found the assistant manager of the store, and he took the piece of melon from me, disappeared for several minutes, and when he returned, he also confirmed the price was correct. He told me that "as a one time courtesy" he would sell me the piece of watermelon at .99/lb. I found him to be very rude and dismissive. I have NOT stepped foot in that store, or any other Kroger store since that encounter! I decided to contact you to let you know why you have lost my business! I grew up in Michigan, and my family always shopped at Kroger. When I moved to Texas, I continued to shop at Kroger. I am infuriated that someone at your company arbitrarily decided to change the price on melons like this! Right next to the sliced melon was a big box of whole melons selling for $3.74 each! Using your pricing of .99/ lb, the quarter melon you were selling for $3.40 would end up costing me $13.60 for the entire watermelon! This is absolutely ridiculous! I want to make it clear that I am NOT talking about the cut up fruit that is sold ready to eat in plastic containers. I understand that one is paying for the convenience of it being ready to serve. I am talking about a watermelon that has been sliced and wrapped! You really need to revisit this absurd and unfair pricing practice! I noticed that the cantaloupes were priced the same way. Your pricing makes you a nice little profit, but I trust that once the shoppers realize this, they will no longer buy fruit at your stores, either. I would like a reply from you.
deli fried chicken
I bought two eight piece containers of chicken. The chicken was soggy, greasy and it smelled and taste like there was some kind of chemical was on it. I have bought Kroger fried chicken for years. This was my first bad experience at Kroger. I shopped at Kroger for more than twenty years.I was very disappointed with this product. I am referred by you as a preferred and loyal customer. I didn't return the chicken due to time and distance. Will you please send me a refund. The chicken taste awful. I am a senior citizen on a low income. Every dollar is important to me.
cart people
I went to Kroger on Starlite drive in Owensboro Kentucky today and when I came out it was storming and lightning. They were sending young kids out to get carts and bring out clicklist orders. Why would anyone with half a brain send teenagers that are trying to make some money by working out in a storm with lightning that could get them killed. I was watching and took a video of a kid out there and thought if he was my child I would be telling him to refuse to go out there in these conditions. If he would've gotten struck by the lightning his parents would OWN KROGER! Dumb management. OSHA should be called in.. I am a safety instructor and this is just ridiculous! Please check into this. Noone should be out when it is lightning getting metal carts or pulling a metal cart of groceries. Kroger needs to care about their workers more! I will not be returning to this store after seeing this.. Very disappointed. I took a video and I will be sharing on facebook for others to see how ridiculous it was
customer service
I purchased strawberries and there was a sign that stated "2lb packages 2.49 each with card" there is another sign, same stand that said "2/4 regular price 2.50". I purchased them and I noticed .98 more was charged so I went to customer service and asked Nicole for the .98 because the price rang up wrong. She tells me that is the price for the smaller package but there is no smaller packages there. I look at the sign and it doesnt state what size package the 2/4 applies to. I asked her would she honor the price she told me there was nothing wrong with the sign and I stated it was misleading. I asked her what was Kroger price on incorrect products she stated that there was not one. I advised her that I felt that the sign was misleading in the space that it was in, her reply "Most people do not read it that way". I did the return and asked for the manager's name and corporate's phone number. She rattled off the manager name so quickly but said call 1800Kroger. As I was putting my money from the refund in my purse she said ill give you Kroger incorrect price policy and thats the items for free. I said i didnt want them for free just the .98 cents difference. She rings up the strawberries and places them on the counter. Before I am even out of her presence she screams "Next customer in line". I replied nice customer service and walk away.

outshine frozen fruit bars
Who is the [censored] that decides what each store will stock? The problem in this case is
your stores in Olive Branch and Southaven, MS. They will go for months in not stocking the Outshine frozen fruitbar flavor Tangerine. When asked why they are out
they point to the fact there is not even a spot in the cases for that flavor unless it is accompanied by other flavors. It is always further up in management that has made that decision. At the same time when you look in that area of the coolers there are bountiful supplies of Pomergranite, Acai Blueberry, and Coconut. WHY? Yes those flavors may be popular in a few places, but I would be willing to wager that in North Mississippi Tangerine would probably out sell those three flavors combined by at least a 2 to 1 margin. It is asinine. I realize the CEO's child that just got their MBA needs a job, but instead of them holing up in their office trying to get high off the ink fumes of that diploma, send them down to one of the local to get high off the Elmer's Glue. That should keep them busy for long time. In the meantime, I will checcking of the Outshine website page as to which store stock tangerine. Hopefully I will find someone othe than Wal-Marx carrying these r even special order them for me.
i'm sorry but almost everything..
I have been a Kroger customer my whole adult life (over the last 20 years) I usually have a pretty good experience this why it's my favorite store. Well today 5/16/18 I went to your store on 86th st and Westfield to do my biweekly shopping and already because of it being a hot day I was extremely exhausted. See I have multiple sclerosis and the weather sometimes can make life a hassle for me so because if the heat I was a bit more wiped out than usual and went to get a handicapped scooter, there were none. Well I pushed a reg cart and held on for support and did what I could filling 3 carts, after hours of shopping I get to the checkout and put my groceries up on the belt only for them to pile up at the end of it because there was no bagger meanwhile I'm trying to maintain my 2 kids, get groceries up and gather coupons all at the same time only to realize I have to bag it all up too! Now my energy level is close to none at this point and the guy at the register just kind of shrugs it off that there is no baggers... this trip not only cost me a arm and a leg but physically has my arms and legs in pain. After today I not sure if I wil return because that was a lot of work and for those prices we shouldn't have to work that hard for a grocery shopping trip... please lower the prices if we have to do that much work or hire more people
cashier "barbie" at store #854
2 litre coke was on sale for .88 cents. Nowhere did it say there was a limit per customer. Not even on the flyer or shelf. Upon checking out, I told cashier I had 20 cokes. She said the limit was 15. I said ok. So my daughter took 5 and purchased them with a separate card. I told the cashier I was coming back for 15 more. She said, "I won't sell you any more, don't waste your time". I didn't quite understand why. You see, I am Lebanese, my English is broken. I asked my daughter to repeat to me what she had said. So she told me the cashier refused to sell me more cokes later. We are excellent customers. We are in Kroger at least twice a week. This is the 2nd time this has happened in less than a month. Last time a different cashier said the limit was 5. I cannot imagine why these women make up the rules as they go. No signs, not small print. It was racist and embarrassing to stand there and be treated so rudely and demeaning. For this reason I am walking away from your store. I drop between 150 and 200 dollars a week. I am a very shy soft spoken man. I feel mistreated and will need to take my almost 1, 000 dollars a month to someone who appreciates and respects it's loyal customers! Thank you.
american heritage chicken breast
Kroger Store in Cincinnati, ohio, 1212 West Kemper Rd. Cashier was CHEC 504.
Date of incident: 5/14/18 @ 1:41pm. Other numbers on receipt were [protected] [protected]
Problem: purchased American Heritage Chicken Breasts @ $10.14, as well as,
STO Baby Spinach @ 5.99; Kro Shred Cheese $2.19.
Chicken was used to make Chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and cheese. The chicken tasted like Fish. It was unbelievable that chicken tasted like fish. We wasted the cheese and spinach as well due to the fact that we had to throw it all out as we could not tolerate the fish taste in a Chicken dinner.
I would like to have all of my monies refunded that went into this meal. I would also like compensation of some kind for the fact that we had our dinner and hard work over the stove to end up throwing it out and finding some other foods just to satisfy our hunger. Perhaps a gift card worth $50 along with a refund of our money.
delivery services
I am a driver for your pharmacy's here in Ohio. I have had a tremendous loss in revenue - from one particular store in general. I have TRIED speaking with April Shaw who is the one I was told to contact but to no avail. All she does is try to say its due to 90 day perscrips, yet no other store is affected. We told her numerous times it is the pharmacy techs. We get yelled at by the customers and just today we were told they quit filling the prescrips last night because they felt we had enough for today. Who are they to decide? This is OUR livelihood and your customers are TICKED that they just decided they did enough for one night. I have spoken with April in depth about this and she is useless. She does not, for whatever reason, like us and is a VERY unfriendly person to even try to speak with. She does NOT promote free delivery in any of your stores, she has an agenda of taking out deliveries to "promote" her 90 days or Medsync. This is drastically affecting our business. We cannot get a good contact number to address ANYTHING to and we are no longer communicating with April Shaw. I don't know why you would want someone like her dealing with your suppliers or anyone else for that matter. We need our deliveries whether anyone feels like doing them or not. They even withheld a ladies prescription saying he was to busy...she called it in the night before!
remodeling of this store
I LOVE shopping at any and all Kroger stores throughout the DFW area and for the most part all the stores are wonderful and can always find what I need. I recently was in Grand Prairie Texas and I needed a few items so I went into this Kroger, which I have been there in the past...Never any issues...My only concern is that this Kroger needs some serious remodeling...compared to other Kroger stores I've been too, this one is being overlooked.
Someone in corporate needs to go out there and really start to compare it to other Kroger stores...Remodeling is a must!

cashier
I was just recently in Kroger on barker cypress and as I was using the self check out, the cashier kept getting close to me watching me like a hawk and I felt very uncomfortable. I was trying to get my purchases and she's getting close to me touching my food which is unsatisfactory and stayed close to me as if I were stealing. I told her twice to get away from me yet she still stood there. I called the store explaining that I have PTSD and this really agitated me. She was totally unprofessional and even after I told her to move away she persisted. This was uncalled for and this situation made me never to want to come there again.
employee at bluewell wv kroger
I went into your store on Friday 5/11/2018 I checked out at 7:36 pm with cashier Diane. Cashier was extremely professional and friendly, I had a couple coupons for the items I was purchasing and she was very coupon friendly. After paying for my order I was waiting on a friend who I was teaching how to use coupons. I was showing her on the receipt how much she had saved when another Kroger employee possible a manager "white male, scruffy beard, blonde hair, medium build approximately 30 to 35 years old " approached cashier Diane, telling her that someone would be coming down her isle using coupons and that they would choose her because she was TOO NICE ! He also informed her that she needed to be reading the coupons because they did have limits on them etc etc ! I understand their are coupon policy's that need to be followed, however those discussions should not be held in front of customers in a demeaning way. Also I feel as if that was directed for my friend and I, considering we had just used some coupons, seems like too much of a coincidence to me. And their was no one else behind us ! I rarely coupon at Kroger because I have had several incidents with cashiers not understanding coupon policy. I am very strict with my use of coupons and make sure that I follow the guide lines. Instances like what is stated above is the reason why cashiers and honest couponers have a hard time. It was a pleasant surprise to have a cashier just as excited about my savings as I was, Its extremely rare especially at your Bluefield WV store . The purpose of this complaint is to make sure that cashiers like Diane knows that they are appreciated she should be commended for the good job she does not reprimanded in front of loyal customers like she did something horrible. He could of very well checked my coupons and seen that I did nothing wrong and all that Diane did was a good job and she definitely did nothing wrong. Unless this Manager has told his cashiers to treat their Customers like crooks if using coupons.
customer service
I was in your new store in New Caney, TX today and had purchased a ham for mothers day brunch. The ham was awful and nobody ate any. I saved the wrapper and tag but did not return it to the store as it began to smell. The service desk replied "no problem" but I must get a managers approval. I assume the meat Mgr responded and he ask me "how can he verify that I didn't eat it". I cannot eat a whole I responded but I think you are just trying to say that I am lying. He told me that they would not help me, or was he sorry, but I should return tomorrow between 11-2 to speak to a real manager. I responded that I will not return ever.
I wanted to return the ham from my trash as this man (Daniel) had requested but my wife convinced me that it not worth my elevated blood pressure.
I can not express how such a simple matter became something that outraged me. This took a lot of effort on your employees part.
customer service
I was at the Roosevelt store yesterday at 745 pm trying to cash a money order purchased there a week earlier. The store manager Jennie said she would be with me shortly, I didn't get seen until 8:55 and the only reason I got seen was because the police were called after I shut down her line because she just kept taking customers like I wasn't there. I stood in line 3 times allowing my turn to come up and she dismissed me until I had to stop customers from coming through and security called the cops. I'm in that store at least 3 times a week but I will avoid Kroger's even if it cost extra to go elsewhere from now on. Customer service sucks.
unethical behavior

Manager Warren makes fun of a hard-working female employee with dyslexia. It is bad enough for customers to be demanding and rude while putting pressure on employees. The girl is a bakery clerk-not a cake decorator. She seemed to be doing everyone else's job. When the customer complained that she could not write "congratulations" correctly, the manager, Warren, offered no help-what he did offer was hurtful comments and a threat to remove her from her position. It is my understanding that bakery clerks are not decorators, and I do not understand why this poor girl was doing so many jobs at once and was still threatened to be removed.
I hope Mr. Warren can take some time to educate himself about learning disabilities and treat his employees-especially the ones doing extra work (and especially work that is not in their job description)- with respect.
unable to serve me during work hours
This is not the first time it has happened. I have a 2 year old son that eats the lunch meat. This is now the third time I have gone to the deli at normal work hours and they closed early on me because they wanted to go home. The sign said the third they were short staffed, but there was at least 2 people back there when I arrived at 7:45pm on a Saturday night. The time before, it was 7:30pm on a Saturday night and the lady served the person in front of me and then would not serve me. I have been under the impression their Deli does not close until 8pm. Finally, after the 3rd time this has happened, I finally complained. The lady at the front offered to get me a manager, but I specifically declined because since I complained, I didn't want to risk possibly being poisoned. I am sure I am not the first person who has been declined services. I like this place because it is fairly close to where I live, but if I can't be helped, then I have to go elsewhere.
gas station, customer service department.
My credit card company sent me this number after I called them about a gas purchase dispute. They said try and call them and see if they can resolve the complaint if not we will completely deal with it. So I called the Kroger store in Olive branch, Mississippi on Goodman road near the expressway. I explained my dispute and I was transferred to someone else, I explained my dispute again and then I was put on hold for so long the number redialed and no one would answer the phone. This experience will be posted on social media so people will have information about the costumer service people you all hire at this and probably more locations.
employees / gift cards
This is a complaint about the system you use for your Kroger Gift Cards and about 2 employees at 7087 Hwy 70 South in Nashville TN…37221.
There was a time I used a Kroger Gift card and they said there was no money on it. They took me to customer service and figured out the exact dates and amounts I used it and although it was a bit embarrassing for me, I was relieved I got all of the money of the gift card and very thankful for the employees that helped me. From then on, every time I felt like the gift card was wrong…I just chalked it up to my lack of knowing when I redeemed it all. It happened often. So often in fact that I decided to keep better track of it.
I would use a $100 gift card once for $30 (and I would have $70 left…a good amount) and when I would go back knowing I had plenty on there it would show up "unauthorized". It was very odd to me and to the employee trying to help me. Instead of being able to tell the exact date and amount like the first time, they said it just said "not authorized". They also said it was odd bc if there was nothing on it, then it should at least say $0…and it doesn't say that. My mother who got me the Gift Cards from a Kroger in Knoxville said to bring them all back to her and she would look into it. She never has.
She sent me another $100 Kroger gift card for Mothers Day. I should be very excited about this gift bc it is a great gift…but I shuddered in anticipation bc I just knew what was going to happen. I went shopping and I bought about $60 worth of Groceries and I kept that receipt with the card in an envelope so I knew exactly how much SHOULD still be on there. I go to buy more groceries…I reluctantly draw out my gift card just knowing what was going to happen…and it did…it happened again. It was showing unauthorized. The guy who checked me out was the Manager of the store…Craig Curry. He explained that about 10% of the cards do not work for one reason or the other and I explained to him that this has happened to me many times before…that if I do not use the full $100 the first time…I lose the rest. I asked if there were any other issues like mine…bought in Knoxville then used in Nashville…he said no. He explained that the card amount could be different than what is written on the card and I asked if he was saying it was possible that my mom put exactly 68.71 on the card and put it in a $100 folder to make it look like more and he got defensive and said that was NOT was he was saying. I told him how past employees were able to help and tell the exact dates and amount it was used and he said that he couldn't, all I could do was call the # on the back of the card. I explained that I did not feel comfortable calling that number since I am here in a Kroger trying to get this fixed and I know nothing of what is going on and at least a Kroger employee had an idea. He said that he could call the number for me and I said that would be wonderful. He then told me that Rayshaundra Wright (?) At customer service could call the number and she could help me.
I gladly went over to customer service, waited about 15mins till my turn and explained to Rayshaundra what happened, what has been happening, just like I explained to Craig Curry. She left her station to ask Craig Curry (her manager) some questions after I told her that he said she would call the number for me to get this cleared up. Im not sure what she asked or what she was told, but she said I had to move over and let her help the customers behind me. I explained that I was a customer too, and that I waited in line already. She said that she had to help the customers behind me, that if she called there was going to me a way long line, I explained that I just simply needed help with this reoccurring problem. She proceeded to push me to the side while she helped other customers. My daughter asked why we were waiting I simply told her that "I guess our issue is not as important as theirs" meaning to be told just to my daughter. Rayshaundra heard me and yelled over the customers she was helping so I could hear "that is not what I said". I just motioned that I was waiting again in a different area and said that she doesn't have to say it, its apparent by how you are treating me. She then proceeded to say that she in no way said that or implied that and being embarrassed that she was yelling over everyone and in front of my daughter I went up to her and said…Look, im a just going to leave, can I have my card and receipt…she said …still very loudly…"Gladly…take it, absolutely, here you go, go right ahead".
After I packed my groceries into my car, I decided to go back in to get their names. I kindly asked Rayshaudra for her name and I could not hear her and she took off her name tag and slammed it on the table and snapped at me "here, take it…its all there, write it down, write it all down". I said that her last name was not on the tag but decided not to talk further to her bc she was so upset and yelling at me in front of all the other customers. I quickly wrote it down and placed it back on the table she slammed it on. Then I went to look at Craig's name tag and could easily see first and last name without contacting him.
I try and avoid confrontation at all costs as this same situation has happened to me (not able to use the full amount on the gift card) many times before and I just try and toss it aside as my fault…I probably used it and forgot like the first time it happened. But now I know there are issues and Im losing a lot of money bc of it. It doesn't come up $0, as is supposed to happen when there is no money left and the Kroger employees can no longer tell me exact dates and amounts that it was used. I was trying to get an issue fixed and I was treated like a problem customer. I felt very degraded by both Craig and Rayshaundra, I know that Rayshaundra was doing what Craig told her to do…put me aside and help me after everyone else was helped. Rayshaundra even said I had to wait for her to help the other customers first.
Perhaps your customer service is not equipped to help customers with their cards (I have been helped before with a card) but if that is the case then they should have told me that and I no longer want to show my face in that Kroger. The way Craig and Rayshaundra treated me was so embarrassing. I have had wonderful experiences with the other workers there, I wish I could remember their names bc they are great and I consider them my neighborhood friends. I will be doing all of my shopping at Sprouts or Publix now. I spend $500-600 at Krogers a month but it is easy to find a new grocery store.
